Post Surgery Update

Been a while, huh? Wanted to give you an update on what's going on with me. Some of you might have noticed my abscence and lack of activity here. In a previous journal I've mentioned why I needed two surgeries, you can read it [here].
Finally, I had my third and last (knocks on wood) surgery within a year. I'm currently in the 4th week of recovery, I'm doing well, considering the circumstances and nature of the surgery. There is still a long way till I fully recover and get back on my feet properly, but the difficult part is over. I'll get back to drawing in July, can't wait to create again. x3

Lack of activity and reason for my absence

Hope you are doing great and have a nice lovely Sunday! ^^
So, I've been meaning to write a journal entry for a while now, I just didn't know how to approach it.
Some of you may have noticed I've been absent for a few months now, only occasionally dropping by when I had the energy.
The reason for my inactivity is due to a chronic illness I've been dealing with for almost two decades now. (Crohn's Disease)
Because of its long term negative effect on my body, despite getting stronger and stronger medications, surgery became inevitable and, in November, I finally got to the operation.
Unfortunately, severe complications emerged, it was resolved, then after a week they released me, thinking i was fine.
But then I had to return to the hospital for a second surgery just three weeks after the first one. Difference was: this particular operation was a life-saving one (apparently one day delay could have had dire consequences).
I'm okay now, but it took a toll on me and I needed to take some time away from everything. There is a third (and final, I hope) surgery planned.
But for the time being I'm back and will upload new art I've been managed to do. I'm really not great with words, but I wanted to let you know what has been happening.
This community has been very kind to me, and I can't thank you all enough, and I'm here to stay! ^^
As for the future: I'm hoping after everything is done and I'm healed I can properly focus on my art.
I have a lot planned (new ocs, comics, etc.) and I intend to pull through, and continue what I love to do.
I sincerely hope everyone's doing okay, and, if by chance you have question, I'll try to answer them.

I know I've been a tad absent lately, been having some irl issues but in the mean time I've been catching up with drawings, took some personal time off so, things are getting better. ^^
I'm going to start uploading this month again, will be some comishes and projects that will be finally completed. I have a ton of plans for the future so stay tuned! ^^

I'm openning $100 fully colored, one character sketch commissions. For the time being I'm unable to take more complicated projects but in case anyone is interested in a quick and simple drawing from me, hit me up, you can contact me via DM or email: nekomecommissions@gmail.com.

Posted 3 years agoSo, I know I've been quite silent as of late. I'm not the best at interacting via journals or tweets. I usually let my art speak for me, I guess that's the best way to put it. So a few little tidbits I wanted to mention:
I'm closing commissions until October, mostly because I'll be taking a break from art and drawing, or rather, I'm taking a step back to figure a few things out. The past few years have especially been rough on me, not just because of all the concerning events happening constantly, but rather it has to do with some personal issues I need to resolve. Bottom line is, I'm taking a little vacation, but it doesn't mean I'm off the grid, you'll see some already finished art soon, I'm excited to show them to you . ^^
As for the future, I honestly don't know. I want to keep getting better at art, but also, I want to figure out who am I as an artist. I kinda have no idea what direction to go at the moment. I have so many ideas from simple sketches to comics, but sometimes I feel lost among the many many great artists out there (you know who you are X3).
That said, while I'm not that chatty, at all, I do want you to know that I appreciate each and every comment, interaction and just your appreciation towards what I do. It means a lot to me and I hope I can bring some colors to this often grey and sad world. ^^

Important Announcement! - Commission Prices
Posted 3 years agoFrom the 1st of February my commission prices are changing and the currently available commission sheet will no longer be valid. I'm going to release a basic price rundown which will be a reference guide until I can put together a proper commission sheet.
The price changes DO NOT affect commissions that have been or will be ordered before the 1st of February. However, if you'd like to place an order for a commission with the current prices, keep in mind that I can only give out slots for March.
Keep an eye out for more information in the following days and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to write me a DM! ^-^ Stay safe!

Posted 3 years agoWell, what a year it was. Hopefully, while all the bad things were happening, you managed to find a silver lining. I believe, while there were quite a few hiccups, I've managed to improve upon my art and I will continue to do so. Nothing can stop me now! :D I want to thank you all of you, old and new followers of my silly antics, for sticking to me and supporting me. I wish you all a Happy and Better Year ahead! ^-^
