Yeah, I'm sorry to say I'm an indecisive person that still can't finalise names. Maybe this is why I go with parts on the MLP Ponies. Still, there were a few I settled on. Tink for our Shiba is one that that I am happy with. I like Lady Weaver for our spidery girl, I'm still thinking of a possible first name for her, but I'm also toying the concept of just having her alternate what she says her first name is as well (Maybe they would all be names beginning with A, so at minimum she is A. Weaver, hehe.. I also came to the decision that I think Mothera is too good of a pun to pass up on the moth. It's the Slime and the Fox that I'm not fully settled on yet, I like the idea of Ammonia, although I don't want to go strictly with Ammonia, Although Mona and Monica don't quite sound right either. And Wisp does seem like a good base for the fox, though I don't know if I want Wispy or Wisper or Wesper and... you see my indecisive with this right? Naming characters is hard.

But I'm committing to my contest and deciding winners now, I've already extended the contest once and I don't want to extend it again. Congratulations to the top 5, you may have noticed that there are actually 2 number 1s here. I couldn't really seperate  Flutterguy10 and  Zeo_Fawx, they both gave really good helpful advice for this, and I feel it's fair they both get first, It's going to be interesting to see how this affects giving out prizes, but we shall cross that bridge when we get to it, I will be sending out a note to each of the top 5 asking for an ordered list on how they want the prizes. When I get all the responses in, I'll distribute the games, trying to give the highest listed game for each person on the list.

The contest this year is a naming competiton, as I mentioned, I got some new, none MLP Characters from Tato recently. Now, you may have noticed this, but I'm not all that great with naming my characters. Normally with the Pokeponies and Digiponies, I try to take their original name and construe a name of it (Sometimes having to get fairly creative by going for french versions of their name in some instances). And already in my head, I'm leaning towards names like "Mothera" and "Spinerella" for my Moth and Spider characters respectively. There's only 2 characters that I am pretty happy with their names with. Nyasia, the Cheetah, and Glumjoy, the Two Headed Dragon.

I will be posting alongside the various birthday themed art I got the new characters I have acquired, you will have a visual and I would give a quick paragraph description on each character and their general motfis and design ideas (It's not finalised for all of them, but it's a rough baseline), all I want is you to help me come up with a name for them.

You can submit multiple names, don't feel restricted to just one. Don't give me a big long confusing list though. If you have an explanation for why you chose that name write it down. I'm may not pick the name, but any and all help is appreciated, and the top 5 helpers over the various pictures I will post shall be the winners, getting their choice of one game each from the pile (With a ranked listing of wants)

I will post Nyasia later today, to show an example of how I will lay out these, future characters will have their titles pointing towards the contest, I'll try to post one a day for the week, with Glumjoy closing it up. On the 15th I will determine the 5 most helpful namers and create a new journal accordingly.

So in brief, I will post a character, give them a bio in the description, think a really good name to give them, the most helpful namers will get to win a game prize, sounds good, right?

So another year cycle has passed and it's going to be my birthday in a weeks time... and to repeat what I said at in december, I think this year was one that most people are probably going to consider didn't count.

In some positive news, I have recieved the first half of the vaccination now, so starting to see the end of lockdown in site. Although just getting the second half won't be the end, have to wait for everyone else to recieve it as well which could take awhile. Maybe by the end of the year? Although there is just a straight up no return to the normal now, I've already heard a lot of my favourite places having to shutter their shops due to the pandemic so stuff will be different. Not much to do but wait and see at this point. That and stay safe of course.

At least there isn't any lack of stuff to watch and play recently. I've been sinking hours into Monster Hunter Rise recently which is another solid entry in the Monster Hunter Series. Just started the high rank missions, still need to get a handle on Rampages but I'm quite confident on the regular hunts, been trying out Dual Blades this time, I like the Palamutes and the Wirebugs a lot, Kamura is a pleasant town. I don't like the locales as much as World, but the music is ace. And the first major update dropped yesterday bringing back a couple of familiar Elder Dragons to fight. With more monsters to come, it's a solid recommendation if you need something for your Switch.

Though there's also a number of games close around the corner to look forward to as well. New Pokemon Snap drops this Friday. Resident Evil VIllage is one week later, Miitopia joins the Switch and if you've seen some of the Miis people are creating with the demo you will be impressed, and June has Disgaea 6, Guilty Gear Strive AND Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart? My wallet isn't going to be safe.

If you've been following streams I've been joining, you may have spotted I got some none MLP Characters from Tato recently, a Cheetah, a Shiba, a Spectral Fox, a Spider, a Moth, a Slime and a Twin Headed Dragon. I'm still fleshing them out in terms of characters and names for them, but you may see them pop up in a few images here and there in the future. So look forward to them.

And to wrap this up, I will be planning another giveaway to coincide with my birthday on the 5th next week, alongside the posting of arts. Not sure what the exact theme will be at this point for the contest, I'm going to try to think up something fun this weekend for it, look forward to it next week.

And if you want my official opinion. I sorta like the look. I'll want to see it in motion before making the final call on it. But the CG look is nice. Not as good as Fausts designs but still interesting, the premise as well sounds like a fun one to (Feels like what if the Season 9 finale was not resolved and everypony did split up their own ways). There was some merch shown recently, not as convinced by that, I think the vector work needs improvements, but I remember G4 earlier vector work being pretty not great as well. And the staff involved seem to have a couple of familiar faces from G4 so, colour me interested, lets see how this turns out.

EDIT: So update, we got a bit more news and some footage in motion of the characters now (Though how long it lasts, wait and see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68JimIgOWuQ&feature=emb_logo) the press release says that the main series will also be all CG as well, a little disappointing after the 2D of the original show, though not a deal breaker, it's gonna come down to characters and story. I actually like the environments they have shown off as well.

Also like how fuzzy they all are. The eyes in the neutral position are a little incorrect, think they are a bit too small to be honest. And colour wise they are a little too close together. (At least the 3 they've shown so far). Still interested, waiting to see more.

Well this is a depressing way to start the week. I recieved news that my grandmother passed away on Sunday.

She was 92 years old. She was suffering dementia but could still remember all of us and key moments. She caught Covid back in January when an outbreak in her care home occurred, so we transferred her to a hospice. She needed to be provided oxygen at one stage, but she did recover from that. She did seem like she was moving to recovery. But she did struggle eating. Things got worse over the weekend and we recieved news that she passed away due to old age/natural causes.

For most of February I had a gut feeling this was probably going to happen, 92 is a tremedous age to reach and any extra was a bonus. It's still depressing that we have lost her though, and now it's double depressing we can't even give her a proper funeral due to Covid Restrictions making a large gathering as a celebration of her life impossible.

It was going to be a fairly happy week, we had my older brother's birthday happening this friday and I was helping sort out a fun video game shuffler tournament for him to occur. I was also planning to upload a whole bunch of Wuff/Luff pictures this week as well.

I'm still planning to do that, as I need something to distract myself, but it's just a downer that I've lost someone dear to me and the family can't even give her a good proper send off. We'll have to think of something creative to celebrate her for now, and maybe we can do a proper celebration of her life once Covid has been resolved.

Thanks for spending time on reading this, I'm still not quite sure how to handle this, but I'll try to remember the good times we had with her, and not the bad.

I know a lot of people probably had a very different holiday season this year if they weren't able to see their family this year, I was fortunate enough to at least get a call with most of them, but I understand most weren't that lucky this year.

...Well I do sorta want to give a shout-out to Helluva Boss right here as an honoury mention. I didn't add it on the first list because they only had one episode out at the time so not really something you could call a series, but now a second episode came out, I recommend you look up both of those on Youtube.

From the animation team that brought you The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea comes this beautiful 2D Animated feature. Which is a rare thing as is nowadays so to get one this good looking is sorta miraculous and reason alone to check this film. The autumnal palette of the film with it's lush forests and vibrant wildlife with it's brilliant sketchy drawn characters that remind me of the pencil sketchy designs of the original 101 Dalmatians. It's a visual treat, but on top of that, we also got some great characters with the main leads of Robyn and Mebh, maybe it's the Midna fan inside me that gets me to like Mebh, as her sharp teeth and wild bounciness reminds me of her, but Mebh is great, and the story of Robyn finding out about the Wolfwalkers and about herself is great to see unfold and is probably the second highlight of the film after it's animation. The story is admittingly fairly simple and basic, but the execution of the story is perfectly done. It hits every beat right and makes you invested in each character and attached to the stakes of the film expertly well. And then add the great score on top of that as well with some brilliant musical moments, got some great mythology and it's a fun different take on a Werewolves story as well. I cannot praise this film enough.

This film was the main inspiration for me to write up this whole list in the first place. Easily my favourite animated feature of the year, and maybe of the last several years as well. The only things that have come close are How to Train Your Dragon and Spiderverse, and I might rank this film over both of them.

So, how do I watch this film you ask? Well, it's on Apple TV+ right now. Just went up today (I got to watch the film early thanks to some Online Film Festivals, though I'll be watching it again with Apple TV+ to hopefully watch it in the best quality. At least until a 4K Blu Ray comes out).

With the holidays approaching, most of us are going to find that we will have a lot of spare time to watch stuff. And I’m certain we’ve all got our Christmas staples to watch for the holidays (We’ll have Muppets Christmas Carol on queue for it). But let’s be fair. You don’t want to watch christmas specials forever and sometimes you want to watch something brand new. So, I want to share with you all, what I think were some of the best new animated shows and films of the year that you should certainly catch up on over the holiday period if you haven’t seen it.

Some things to note about the list first.

- This list is just Animation, both western and japanese varieties
- Of those, the list will contain both films and TV Shows.
- Everything listed here has to have started in 2020, so whilst there are shows that had great final seasons this year like Bojack Horseman and She-Ra: Princesses of Power. I want to put the spotlight on the new that 2020 brought us.
- Reboots are totally fair game for this list.
- This is my own list and I haven’t watched everything this year, be it that it’s not available in my region like the new Animaniacs Reboot or I just haven’t had the time to watch it yet like Central Park (I’ve heard good things about both though.)
- Obviously I’m posting this at the beginning of December and there is still a month left, so um… I guess Soul and Lupin the First are like an honourary number 11 and 12 I guess.
- If there is an easy way to watch the show, I will also tell you where you can watch it as well.
- l will also provide a Teaser Trailer for what the show is like too, because knowing what the show looks like certainly helps in a visual

10: 101 Dalmatian Street - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-pf-A44cX8 Dog puns galore in this show that’s gone to the dogs, a highly energetic show with a lot of dogs, Doggy doomsayer Dante feels like an omen for how 2020 turned out overall which might be why he became my favourite of the bunch. Though I certainly like Dylan and Dolly and their sibling relationship and rivalries as well. You can find 101 Dalmation Street on Disney Plus.

9: The WIlloughbys - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnG4ag3Nkes From one large overly large family, to one that wants to shrink there own one. The Willoughbys is a quirky film based of the childrens book about kids trying to get rid of their parents because they believe they can raise themselves on their own better. I like this films visual style which certainly makes it stand out compared to many other films out there and all the kids are fun as well. Even the parents and their survivals through doom is great to watch as well. You can find The Willoughbys on Netflix.

8: My Life as a Villainess: All Paths Lead to Doom! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QriYDN3KmQs Speaking of doom (I promise all of these won’t be linked) imagine you got yourself isekai’d into a visual novel dating game you’ve beaten, problem is, you aren’t the protagonist, you are the antagonist of the game, and you know that your ending is going to be a Bad one, can you re-write your destiny? The cast is certainly the standout here with all the characters being great fun, with Katarina being the standout star. You can find My Life as a Villainess: All Paths Lead to Doom! On Crunchyroll.

7: BNA: Brand New Animal - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2o1uGlCK90 Hey, are you, ready to go? It’s Studio Trigger flexing their great animation skills yet again with an absurdly fun world with anima city with some great characters with Michiru, Ogami and Nazuna, it gets a little lost in the story at the end but it’s a hecka lot of fun. And that soundtrack is quite the boop. You can find BNA: Brand New Animal on Netflix.

6: The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lnw6DFZTYo The spiritual successor to the great Mickey Mouse shorts. A lot of the same team is at work on this show and the vibrant bouncy world is back. This show has a joke that I have laughed the hardest at all year long in it, that alone gives it a place on this list. And this is still on-going! We’ve still got 4 more episodes in the current season yet to air. You can find The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse on Disney Plus.


5: Glitch Techs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1KxIfcd8dI Who knows what really happens, when a video game starts the glitch? Well here comes the glitch techs, they know what to do! If you like videogames old or new, this show is for you to watch, with a great duo lead of Miko and Hi-5 (alongside that jerk rival Mitch) Glitch Techs is a fun action show that hopefully can get another season perhaps? Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger but it’s unsure if it’s going to continue further. You can find Glitch Techs on Netflix.

4: Harley Quinn - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT7A5-oxR3o ...Waddya mean this started in 2019? November 29th start date? C’mon, over half it’s first season was in 2020, so I say it counts for this list. As someone who hasn’t liked most of DC output for the last 5 years (I only really like Lego Batman and Shazam!) Here’s a great take on Harley Quinn that caught me off guard. The characters carry this show, it’s crass, it’s vulgar, and also hilarious, with some surprising heart tugs at times as well. Whilst I caught Harley Quinn on E4 over here in the UK, you can find it more easily on HBO Max.

3: Kipo: Age of the Wonderbeasts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25UHUbpFTtY Here’s an Apocalyptic world that actually isn’t super depressing for once. Kipo is full of Mega Mutes, animals that have evolved to be smarter than humans, and boy are there some great animal designs here with the Timber Cats, the Rocker Snakes, The Exercise Raccoons, Newton Wolves. I can go on, Kipo, Wolf, Scarlemagne also make for some great lead characters. The soundtrack for this show may actually be the best soundtrack for a show of the whole year. If you aren’t going to check out the show, at least check out the soundtrack. You can find Kipo: Age of the Wonderbeasts on Netflix

2: The Owl House - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W1FFiT51lg Welcome to the Boiling Isles. We have magic and we have terror around every corner. But if you are a bit odd, weird and strange then maybe you’ll survive. And Luz is the champion for the outcast. Eda the owl lady is a great mentor figure with a fun mystery as well. King is an adorable goof that needs more hugs and pamperings. And Amity is one of the most interesting character growths I’ve seen all year. Not to mention the great animation, the constant digs out harry potter, the Grom episode, the finale. Oh please don’t end up like Star Vs. Owl House, you are the one show I have the most hope in for having a great run with Season 2 and beyond. You can find The Owl House on Disney Plus.

...And Number 1? Well, I’ll hold off that one for now. I’ll keep you waiting a little longer. What could it be. Could it be something I’ve been hyping to heck since I watched it 2 months ago? Speaking of which, it's the holidays at last. For a brief rundown of what to expect on this channel with the holidays.

- Expect various christmas art to be posted on various occassions.
- I've got my list on "Animated Films and Shows from 2020 that you should watch during the holiday break" that should be up sometime later this week.
- And the Christmas Giveaway of humble bundle games for those that can solve my Cryptic Conundrums when they appear. Expect further details in a seperate journal later this month.

Due to this year being what it is, I actually have a lot of time off I need to spend at the end of the year so hopefully plenty of time to post art and stuff. There's one idea that I'm coming up with shortly that I wish I thought up earlier this year as it's concept could have been expanded further if so. But oh well, when I post it and if people express interest, maybe we can work with it for next year? We shall see.

So for anyone who has been following Tato, they would know that starting in 2021 they will no longer be drawing Fan Art moving to original creations only.

Now as someone who rather shamelessly merged MLP and Pokemon/Digimon together for my characters, that does sorta effect me a fair bit. As not only do I tend to join in group picture with Tates using those characters, but Tato has been doing the refernces for my characters pretty much since I started.

I will say that whilst I know Tatos move has been met with mixed response in the community, I am perfectly fine with Tato taking this direction for their art. You can’t force someone to draw what they don’t want to draw and if they want to go in a new direction, they are fine to do so. I wish Tato best of luck in the new direction they will take for arts.

I am also trying to think up possible ideas for future Tato ideas with streams that will abide by the new rules, this will probably relate to Robotic style characters (Like the K.1.T.T.3.N. and the K.1.T.5.), frame like structures like profile cards or Trading Card Frames, add maybe the odd Diaper Design here and there as well.

Though I am a person who likes my ponies and will probably still focus on them. So the old characters will hang around, there will be Christmas art for them coming up next month (Including a really silly idea I wish I thought up earlier in the month) and the old Tato refs will be used, New refs will likely come from other artists (I should thank Vitriolink, Moorph, SierraFox, ArtieCanvas and CinammonTwist for their various help in conceptualising characters over the years as well) and I still hope to bring cute pony art for longer (Let’s see how Gen 5 mixes up my art style)

Hey hey, before you think it's a bad luck. It's also World Kindness day as well. So, gotta think positive with that as well, right?

Anyway, wanted to talk about how things are going since we are nearing the end of the year and... well it's been another one of those crazy years for sure. I've been having laptop woes for the last few months and Covid has been slowing down the repairs of it. Well I got my price quote on the repairs for it today and... yeah, the motherboard went so that part is going to basically cost as much as a new laptop. So with the black friday sales coming soon, I think I'll be eyeing towards them. Might have to cancel the PS5 order for the laptop, which is awkward as I got the Dualsense this week already. That or maybe just save a laptop for new years. Work provided me a work laptop for now and I've been alright-ish on the phone for the meanwhile. I've at least managed to keep all my data and backed it up on an Hard Drive so no pictures or data have been lost.

It's also stopped me from updating my album of new ponies in the process as well. I got a couple of them a few months back and you may have spotted them in the Halloween Pictures I uploaded. Those being.

Since Christmas is coming up, I wanted to write up a list of some of my favourite animated features and shows from the past year during lockdown. Expect that to come up early december-ish, as there is still some shows and films I want to check out first to see if they could make the list like Over the Moon and the Animaniacs Reboot. If you've been speaking to me on streams or Discord, you may have an idea of what number 1 will be on that list, but we'll see, stuff could change in a month. We shall see.

Finally, I do intend to do another Christmas Raffle again this year of giving out various humble bundle key codes and you gifting them to close friends if you can solve whatever riddle or party game I upload with my various christmas commissions this year. So keep your eyes peeled and get your thinking hats ready for December. Hopefully Christmas will still be a fun time, even if lockdown is going to prevent families from visiting this Christmas.

Well I don’t know how much my post helped in the end, but with the election decided now, I am very glad with the outcome that has occurred, and come January 45 will be gone. There’s still a long way to go, and the world still has a lot of issues it will have to overcome (Now Minks are going to be our doom with a new mutation of the Corona? Oh boy...) but for now at least, I can rest at ease.

Hopefully less politic posts for awhile, at least until our Prime Minister continues the bungling disaster know as Brexit I suppose. But for now, more cute pony pics, and I’ve got to talk about a certain film I saw recently when I get the chance to do so as well.

So it’s Election Day huh, well, I may not be able to vote for it since I’m from the UK (and believe me, we have our own problems we have to overcome) but I can still send out a message to go vote. The last 4 years have been a nightmare scenario and I don’t want to see that becoming 8 years. So, 3 things to say.

1. Go out and vote.
2. If you have voted. Go convince someone close to you that hasn’t voted to vote.
3. Once they have voted, tell them to get someone who hasn’t voted to vote.

Even if my little post here can convince 10 people to vote. If each of those 10 convince 10 others to vote, and of those 10 then convince another 10 to vote, that’s a thousand votes right there. I know 2020 has been an especially bad year where it’s risky to even go out and vote. But this is the first big step to make to 2021 and beyond a much better future to live in.

So, go out and vote, vote for the correct candidate, that’s the one that didn’t catch the Coronavirus by the way if it wasn’t obvious. And tell any friends you can to vote as well. I will probably be having this theme on loop tonight

Twice per year, the Games Done Quick team host a week long marathon to try and speed run as many games as possible. 2020's been a pretty terrible year, one almost certainly for the record books. Though the recent events with Black Lives Matter, that goes beyond 2020, that's day to day life for many people. I know this is probably One in One Hundred with other posts like this being posted, but the One Hundred and One post about it is as valid as the others.
