Don't get me wrong
Posted 4 years agoYes, I have to explain everything. I'm not in a bad mood, it's just my adorable personality. Because I'm a horrible person.
But I just profane my angel girl for your pleasure. It's my particular way of saying, thank you for visiting my gallery. =)

I don't care
Posted 4 years agoI haven't bothered to watch Sonic Central, but I've heard a lot of rumors about that "Sonic Rangers" thing, and I honestly don't care. The only thing I'm looking forward to is seeing more Sonic Movie 2 previews.
Sorry, but Forces destroyed my last hope.

Posted 4 years agoNever happy. See others better than own art, make sad. Work very hard to be better. That should make happy, but then feel like making others unhappy. Others also want to be better and be sad when can't.
Do what do, never happy.

That moment...

What am I doing? I have many things to do still. I better get to it.
I'm a neoeclipse, I write and scribble. Nothing else. This is who I am and this is my place.
I'm too old for... other things.

Posted 5 years agoWhat about the comic?
Well, basically I haven't had a lot of time to do it because of my job. I've been pretty busy lately.
Currently I have the script of the following 3 pages, but I need to make a space to be able to retake it.
Anyway I also needed a little break and draw other things, but don't worry. Eventually I will continue to do the comic.
I'm currently reorganizing so that I can also move forward with my fan fic Project R.
I hope I can post something before the end of the year.

I have the impression...
Posted 5 years agothat people think that I'm always in a bad mood.
I'm usually melancholic and a little harsh to answer, but I'm not in a bad mood. Just tired from work.
I'm an adult. It's my nature to live tired. =)
So much time for so little
Posted 5 years agoMore than 6 months and I only did 10 pages. It's not even a very professional job. I reduced the quality to speed up production, but the result is rather mediocre.
I'm already on my way to 40 and my latest drawings look like they were made by a 12 year old boy. I'm starting to get a little cringe at my work.
To whom I lie? I'm not looking to be a professional artist. I'm just a boring fellow scribbling in his little spare time, using a cheap mechanical pencil and eraser.
All this time I've been pretending to be an artist, looking for my place in this... fandom? But I'm not even able to comply on time when someone pays me to do some drawing.
I'm very bad at this, and I'm starting to get tired.

Life is short
Posted 5 years agoIt seems that it was yesterday when I entered Sonic Fandom, in the now distant 2003. In those days I had almost forgotten about my creativity and began to have a more normal life. You know, looking for a job, earning money, planning my life and thinking about a pension plan. Yes, in my 20s. Anyway, I had nothing better to do.
Wandering the net I discovered the existence of Sonic X and this motivated me to look for more material about the series and in general about everything related to the hedgehog franchise. One thing led to another and I ended up in the extinct MSN group called Sonic Clan. An event that changed the course of my life.
Well, 17 years have passed since then and I'm still not close to completing anything I had planned. The saddest thing is that I am still dreaming of one day achieving some of my projects, but then I remember that I am no longer 20 years old and my heart breaks a little more. Sometimes I wonder if I really should go through with this.
Anyway... Another year of my life is over. I have no idea how many I have left. However, I must try to hurry up. The clock does not wait for me.
I don't know how many people are reading this, but if you follow me, if you are attentive to what I do, if you are interested in my work, even when you don't comment anything, I just want you to know, that I thank you for being there.

Posted 5 years agoNaomi: An unplanned project
Posted 5 years agoNaomi is basically a prequel to Project R. It's based on a summary I did a few years ago about Dr. Akari's youth and the events that would end up being the base of Project R.
I had no plans to make a comic like this, but I needed to keep my mind busy or I would end up going crazy. Also, it has been a good way to test if I can really maintain a project like this, with a less stressful technique and a constant release every two weeks.
The result is rudimentary but it serves the purpose. I regret not being able to do the comic digitally but that would take too long and would be unsustainable for me. I'm no longer as skilled as before.
I'm not sure how far I will go with this comic. It's not my plan that it's too extensive. It was just a test. Although seeing the acceptance that the comic is having, it encourages me to continue with the project.
Thanks to all for the views, the favs and the comments left in this comic.

First of all I want to clarify one thing. I'm not a big fan of coloring the belly of mobian girls. I know it's a very popular custom among artists, but I avoid it as much as possible, since I try to be as faithful as possible to the original canon.
I understand the logic of painting the belly of some characters, but depending on its design, this can help to improve the appearance of the character or be totally unnecessary. Of course, this is subjective. This is art after all, there is creative freedom.
For example. In the case of Amy Rose, it's very common to see her with the chest of another color, and the argument used for this is the comparison with the Sonic belly, however, Shadow and Silver lack that characteristic, so the use of a different color on the belly is merely a matter of design, not logic.
Maybe it's because of the character's color or the color of her arms, but in Amy Rose's case, the different belly color works pretty well. I cannot say the same in cases like Blaze, Sticks, Tikal or even Vanilla. I consider that the painted belly in these characters is unnecessary and even detrimental to the design.
Right now I find myself in a dilemma regarding the color of the belly of some of my characters, as you will have seen in this pic: https://inkbunny.net/s/2125957
The idea was born after I started analyzing photographs of real gazelles. The white belly with a black stripe on the sides is, without a doubt, a very noticeable characteristic in these animals, and to omit it would be to take away its identity.
In short, when it comes to an OC, there is much more creative freedom when it comes to designing a character. The only limitation would be to maintain a common style. So I may want to continue doing some design experiments before defining the final look of my characters.
