II: Decet Hostium update #002
General | Posted 11 years agoI know that my page has been all Sketches and Demos lately, but take it from me, stuff is getting finished track by track.
Alas, time is not entirely on my side: my tenancy with this student accommodation ends in early August (and with my course finished, there's no chance for renewal) so I've also been on the lookout for a place to live. Don't worry, I've been sorting it out fine. But as a heads-up, if I disappear and/or updates become very sparse for any amount of time, it'll be because I'll be in the process of moving very soon (probably back to my parents for a short spell, then to wherever I end up living - it'll be in my local area anyway).
But onto II: Decet Hosium. Like I said, things have been finished. For the last few weeks, I've been focusing on writing and recording vocals (even if the backing track hasn't been recorded, singing over Sketches isn't a problem for me) while I still have access to recording equipment. Thankfully, I've only got a couple vocal tracks to do, since the album will have its fair share of instrumentals.
I suppose I can give out the tentative tracklist to the album while I'm here (finished tracks in bold, written (but not recorded) tracks in italics):
01. /run INTROD~1.BAT
02. Overture for the Upgraded (instrumental)
03. Pareidolia
04. To Arms, Brothers; We Are At War! (pt I: Fate Denied)
05. To Arms, Brothers; We Are At War! (pt. II: The Rebellion)
06. Cure?
07. Man Becoming Cold (The Surrender) (instrumental)
08. Frozen, Unconscious... Immortal
09. Rogue Terminal
10. Machine Becoming Warm (The Uprising) (instrumental)
11. VICHAMA The Destroyer (Collateral Damage)
12. Release Candidate (instrumental)
13. The Ghost Inside
I haven't put track times because it's not mixed together, but I'm currently looking at a total time of 62 minutes.
I'm still hoping for a AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2014 release, but given my near-future circumstances, SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2014 may be more likely. Believe me, I want this to be finished. I've always wanted to finish an album and now that I am able to truly make the music I wanted Not a Number to be, this is truly my chance.

II: Decet Hostium update #001
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I've doing my damnedest to get II: Decet Hostium finished while I am still able to borrow equipment from University (I should really buy myself a microphone but those things are expensive right now especially since I'm finding work too), which explains why I've been a little more active in posting new versions of my music here than in recent months (that and I'm done with University studies).
I can now say that, over 9 months of originally posting the initial MIDI, the song To Arms, Brothers; We Are At War! (pt II: The Rebellion) is officially completed, as well as a close-to-finished version of Cure? (which I had wrote all the way back in May 2012).
Unfortunately, since those are finished versions and not demos, I'm afraid I won't be posting those here; you'll have to wait until the other tracks are finished.
And considering Overture for the Upgraded is practically done (I'll just have to redo the guitars), this leaves II: Decet Hostium at 3/14ths finished, with another 6 tracks that are at least started, and just 5 more to write fully. Fortunately of those 5, 2 of those are most likely instrumentals, but still I need a bunch of synth and organ VSTs (...and a proper USB/MIDI keyboard) to put it together and flesh out the other tracks further (any recommendations I am welcome to so long as they are legit-free plugins), and one of those 5 *might* be cut.
Until I am able to get a microphone of my own, I'm still pressing for an AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2014 release for II: Decet Hostium. That said, I'm going be pretty busy outside of music (finding a job, finding a place to live), so it's gonna be a tough number of weeks.
Hope you can hold on tight for this ride.

NEW RELEASE: Destiny's Door (SOUNDCLOUD EXCLUSIVE) (2014)
General | Posted 12 years agoNew release over at my SoundCloud:
https://soundcloud.com/vulpes_corsa.....-fingers-entry
Track created for the Bleeding Fingers Contest: https://www.hanszimmerwantsyou.com/
Since I needed to use one steam from the original song, I chose the Percussion (although I also composed my own drums on top; the original percussion is for atmosphere), Synth, Choir and Vocals, rearranged to fit as a short rock song. I figured since the original was more orchestral/soundtrack, it'd be interesting to make the song fit into a different genre.
---
Mixed in REAPER v4.22/x64
Drums sequenced using Independence Free (Acoustic Kit 3).
Guitar used: Tanglewood Telecaster (Drop D tuning)
Amp used: Line 6 Spider IV 15
Additional composition by Hans Zimmer. For more info: https://www.hanszimmerwantsyou.com/
tl;dr: Hans Zimmer is holding a contest where you could potentially work for him; wish me luck :D

Fursona Species confusion
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I've been a Corsac Folf for a couple years now, and I've been happy with that form representing me; it just felt "right". But for the past week or so, I've had this other, completely new anthro pop into my head from nowhere, and as the days go by, it just feels like this one appears to "feel right" and the Corsac Folf feels a lot more "distant" identity-wise.
What is this new anthro and possible replacement-fursona, you may ask?
..It's a skunk. Yeahhh.
I've already given some thought/elaboration and decided that, if it is meant to "fit" me more, then I would definitely be a "domesticated" one - that is, I wouldn't stink up the place and anywhere/anyone/anything within 50 feet of me; You can put the tomato juice away 'round me (I hate ketchup anyway). :P
There are others that I won't go into, but nonetheless; fursona-wise, I am one confused fo..s..I DON@T KNOW WHAT I AM ANYMORE.
