here's the sparknotes:

good ways to start:
- make something you really hate/love (at the end of the day it doesn't matter you'll love them all the same).
- exaggerate as much as you can get away with so people know exactly what this character is for
- if its comically stupid/cliche lean into it so hard that you forget what you were even trying to make in the first place
- dont be afraid to thieve off other designs (imitation is the best form of flattery also you'll buff it out later)

finishing touches:
- big hair/hat.
- forget to give them backstory (then daydream about the entire thing later)
- make it unique, not to other people's ocs, but unique to your own.

most importantly and absolutely necessary:
- make it you.

(note that designs can also be rehashes from months or even years ago.)

the title doesnt lie. im sick, and i got one last final assignment to obliterate.

sipping on some mug. glad people liked the mutenote update, there's going to be a lot more soon once im out of college this summer.

I've never really undertaken something like this yet. I've done art and music, writing seems a bit out of place. it was the initial plan for Mutenote to have a visual novel-ish section (even if i ended up getting caught up in other thannnggsss).

i want to do a couple short stories to get the ball rolling, so expect new stuff soon.

hey all. mutenote is receiving a major update soon that really overhauls the graphics, the writing, and overall style of pages. it also fixes numerous scaling issues on other devices.

what the hell do i even call this thing

Lately been rethinking how I do comms, might try and use Google Forms like a lot of my peers, though this will likely do-away with walk-in commissions and make really simple comms (little guys) needlessly complicated.

In other words this is going to take a lot of thinking to get right, but if its a form it can make my process extremely easy (and admittedly it'd let me be as picky as I'd like with commissions without wasting your time, nor mine).

I also admit, seeing others get through with comms while im too busy with college has made me jealous, so expect something soon.

learning to sketch again is tough, or at least learning how to sketch even faster was for a time. my animation professor taught me to really let loose in my sketching and suddenly it looks more adjacent to shape spaghetti.

the curious part is that it works. it works really really well, especially for how gesture/dynamic oriented my work is.
