Not much of a Vote and NOW ON STEAM!!!
General | Posted 13 years agoI noticed that there hasn't been any activity lately. Some of it is my fault since I haven't really been active either and I'm sorry. But, just to bump that last journal out of the way and since no one really voted. I have to choose the movies and tv shows this time. And there won't be an Admin's Choice thing whenever I have to do this.
Also, this group is now on Steam. Just search for Netflix_Furs and you'll find it. Or just ask me to invite you to the group and I will. I thought that making a steam group is a great way for people to interact with eachother. You can also friend me on steam if you want too.
I didn't choose these myself, I went to a number generator to do this.

General | Posted 13 years agoI'm sorry for being inactive for a week or however long it's been. I don't even know, I lost track of time. My power going out sorta knocked me off of my internet and art groove. But, it's slowly comming back.
Anyway, here are the polls and the info about each movie and show. Since this is so all of a sudden and last minute. I'm gonna have this poll open all week. But, by next Saturday I'll post results.

General | Posted 13 years agoSorry about the inactivity again. I'm currently at the library typing this and just wanted everyone to know what's been going on. Well there was this very very bad storm with wind and lightning everywhere. Our power went out Friday night and is still out.
Then on Saturday while my stepdad and I was lookin for a generator to buy for our house. We saw that some people's houses were completely ruined by big trees falling on them. Some telephone poles were destroyed and tree branches were just everywhere. There's a big tree that fell in our backyard and we still gotta move that sometime eventually.
Well, I live in Virginia. And at first I thought this power outage was just us. Then I learned that only a few people have power. And this power outage thing effected everyone in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia, and even went as far as Ohio and Illinois.
My stepdad and I were looking for some Ice Bags to keep (before we bought the generator). And basically every grocery store has no meats anymore, since their power went out and their meats went bad. Stores around where I live have empty parking lots because they have no electricity and it's hard to find ice, since so many people need it. There are people driving on the roads, but the parking lots are just empty.
My house is fine. We have no running water, but we had to buy cheap drinking water (which tastes horrible by the way). We live near a lady who raises horses and she told my stepdad and I that we could use her pond water to give water to our chickens and for our toilets. Basically, we have to physically fill the toilets with water every time we use them. I've been cooking food on the grill and just been eating sandwiches for the past few days. It also doesn't help that it's been between 95-100 degrees for the past few days. And my mother can't take the heat at all.
Hopefully our power will turn back on either on Friday or Saturday. But, I've heard from some people that some places probably won't have power for a month.

General | Posted 13 years agoI think we should reconsider the streaming until we get more active members. We should just start small for now and try to keep up with the weekly movie votes and polls. Anyway, I will take suggestions for tv shows and movies now. I decided to make the tv shows of the month known every 1st of the month. It's easier to keep track of that way.
Here are the categories. You can suggest as many choices as you want. The more choices I have to put in polls, the better.
Movie of the week: (includes Anime, Cartoons, Live Action, or CGI movies)

General | Posted 13 years agoOk. So, let's try to stream a movie on Wednesday and see how people like that.
I've been reading and it seems like Ustream is alot less strict with streaming movies and shows. So, I'll try to stream the movie myself on Wednesday around 9pm Eastern Time, I may start a bit earlier. The timeslot isn't permanent, I'll just stream at 9 because I start getting tired around 12am or 1am and I don't wanna fall asleep while streamin.
I'll need some back up people who would be able to stream at the last minute, just incase I can't do it. But, I should be able to. I'm not changing the Furry Movie Night thing. I'd rather stream movies on Saturdays or Sundays after the most voted movie has been picked. I'm just doing this to see how people enjoy it.

General | Posted 13 years agoI have an idea about what to do with the streaming. Since I can't decide which to do, I'd rather have the people in the group help decide what to do too.
So, there's 2 different types of streaming methods I had in mind. First one is, to stream a few times a day either every Saturday and/or Sunday. Second one is, to stream all throughout the week on a certain schedule everyday or every other day.
I'd just suggest we try both of them and see how people like it. I just need more movie suggestions. Any movie on netflix, anything. Meow..MEOW!!!!
I also need more people willing to be my backup streamers, since now I know I can't stream this weekend or next week. I want at least 5 people for back up, all I have so far is

Streaming Movies
General | Posted 13 years agoI was just reading the comments on the last journal and never thought about actually streaming the movies that are voted for. I'll stream on ustream, since I already have it set up to stream shows and stuff.
I know that I can't stream movies every week. So, I want at least 5 designated people to be my backup. If you wanna be a backup, just note this profile and send a link to your ustream or livestream. If you don't wanna be a backup anymore just note me again, you don't have to tell me why, just at least tell me you don't wanna do it anymore.
But anyway, I know people have busy lives. I wouldn't know what time to stream the movies. I would like to do it every Saturday. But, what time would work for everyone, even for the people with jobs, going to school, or just having busy lives.
Every little idea helps.

General | Posted 13 years agoI've been randomly busy lately. But, not too busy to run this group, since it doesn't take much of my time to do it. I've just been falling asleep early, not being able to sleep, or sleeping late. My sleep schedule is back on track though. I've been doing some art too, but just barely.
Anyway, I'm trying to think of how to make this group more active and more entertainig for people. Like doing a few contests or doing random raffles or something. Anyboy got any ideas. Anything at all.

~ Kitten D'VodkaFilm Discussion: Bones and Times (may be some spoilers)
General | Posted 13 years agoI'll try to make this in depth. I usually don't write long movie revies, so here it goes.
Audience's Choice: Stephen King's Bag of Bones
At first I didn't know if this movie would be good anyway. The trailer doesn't really help it either. But, then I thought, wait it's based on a Stephen King thing, so it's gotta be good. Even though it was originally a 2 part made for tv movie. It was still great for a tv movie. Everything in this movie was just very believible.
The movie is based on his novel of the same name, written in 1998. I haven't read the book, but all of the Stephen King movies makes me just wanna read all of them. Click here to learn more about the novel
At first the story just seems normal about some dude and his wife and the dude is a famous writer. Then his wife dies and he's very depressed about it and has nightmares with her in it. Then it gets even more complicated and a shit ton of stuff happens. I was saying "what the fuck" through this whole movie. There is a rape scene, but it isn't as graphic as I've seen in other movies.
Overall this movie is more like a mystery rather than an action movie and that's ok. You get so pulled into the story that it's still entertaining. At least I did.
Admin's Choice: Modern Times
Now this is actually one of my favourite movies. It was released in 1936 and it cracks me up every time I watch it. Charlie Chaplin Directed, Produced, Wrote, and is in this movie as well. This is mostly a silent movie, the people don't really talk much, but there are sound effects of machines, cars, sirens, large crowds, and whistles. Even though the Silent Movie Era in America ended in the late 1920's, this movie came out when talking movies,"talkies", were more popular. Charlie Chaplin didn't want his Tramp character to talk much or at all, since he never really talks anyway. There is one scene in the movie where he has to sing to keep his job, so he actually sings in some random mess of languages and it's pretty funny.
Anyway the story is basically, the Tramp just got out of prison to start his new working life again. He tries to find work, but there are no jobs, since this movie is during the Great Depression in America. There's alot in this movie and I don't want to give it all away, becuase I really want people to watch it. It reffers very strongly to how hard it is for regular working people of the time to find jobs. And also how easy life is in prison. And also how to not give up on anything even when things look hopeless.
I love really old movies and this one is one of my favourites. It's very important to American culture at the time. Anyways, you should go watch it lol. Click here to read more about the movie

General | Posted 13 years agoI'm really sorry for not posting any movie reviews or polls or suggestions or anything. My family was here for memorial day weekend and I randomly been very very sick for a few days.
This Friday I won't do any polls because I'm still sick. I'm getting better, but my body is weird and can get really really sick again at anytime. So, I'm writing this while I feel ok.
Please still suggest things to vote for. I don't run this group, everyone who participates does. All I really do is post results and try to keep things organized.

General | Posted 13 years agoHello, there. This is Kitten D'Vodka typing and I've taken over the role as mod of this group. I'm on netflix alot of times to watch tv shows and movies and when I saw this group I was happy that there was a group like this. The former mod didn't have time to watch the movies every week and wanted someone else to step up.
I can't run a group without active members. So, invite anyone who has netflix or anyone who has the ability to watch movies and tv shows whenever they want. Or just people who love talking about movies and tv shows.
I'm always up for any new ideas that might make this group better, more organized, and more fun. I have a couple of new ideas myself and once I tweak certain things I'll post another journal about the rules I have for this group and then resume the weekly movie night this group does.

I'm really busy and this ended up just being one more thing to keep track of where I couldn't even watch the movie every week but it's great so many people watched the group and thank you doubly for those who were active participants in the movie watching portion of our little movie lover group.

Amadeus Discussion and New Vote!
General | Posted 13 years agoSo... that was a great film right? I think I had seen the original version, not the 30 minute longer directors cut, when I was in school a while ago. If anything, the extra time really did seem to deepen the experience, I'm not sure had been cut out since it was so long since I'd seen the original. The 3 hours just flew by, it's no surprise that this film won so many awards; I'm surprised it wasn't made in the 90's given how great the production values are. I'd give it a 9/10 :)

General | Posted 13 years agoSo the official vote was a tie, but in these cases the moderator (me) gets to put in the tie-breaking vote. And I'm just a little more interested in seeing 8 1/2 though I'm interested in all three films. As a consolation prize, 21 Grams will get carried to next week for the next vote which I'll post about tomorrow night or Saturday.
