Once again I have fallen into a deep artistic rut. Actually, this feels like more of a crevasse. Currently, I can't draw, I can't paint, I can't write, I can't even program. So everything is on hold until I find some footing and crawl out of this hole.

I've spent way too much on video games over the past month, so I am taking a break from my other art projects and accepting one commission in hopes of making some of that money back. I will be officially reopening commissions in late July, but for the time being, I only need one.

This will not necessarily be a first come-first serve thing, like I normally do. In the case that I receive multiple commission requests, I will select the one that offers me the most money for the minimal effort. I know that's a bit uncool, but this instance is a means to an end rather than business as usual.

That's a valid question. I usually do have a sexy and sultry picture of my red-haired vixen, Amber Fee, for you on this day. But, unfortunately, not this year.
I'm not sure if any other artists out there suffer from this affliction, but my artistic talents ebb and flow like the tides. Some days, every time I touch pencil to paper the result is something that I want to save, finish, and post. Other days, however, I cannot draw to save my life. So it has been for about two weeks now. I can feel my talents slowly returning, though. Yesterday, while desperately trying to put together an Irish Day picture, I instead ended up with some kind of strange, rodent, voodoo priestess sort of thing. I think it's a rather cool picture in its owe rite, and I will likely finish it later; but that is not very helpful at the moment.

Once my full abilities return, I will draw an Irish Day picture. I promise.

I would like to apologize to those on my commission list for my current slow progress and reassure you that I am still working on your pictures. I have been in something of an artistic funk for the past few weeks and it has made work on commissions a very daunting and frustrating task. Please continue to be patient with me. Thanks.

Whereas the multi-player version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is overflowing with hacks, exploits, and glitches; I do enjoy playing the single-player Spec Ops missions quite often. I have completed all of the missions on Veteran difficulty except for the two missions that require two players, Big Brother and Overwatch. Therefore, I am looking for players who might enjoy accompanying me on these missions, and perhaps even playing through some of the other missions as a team.

This call goes out to players of all skill levels, from 'noob' to expert. You don't have to be a great shot, or even a good shot, so long as you can avoid accidentally shooting me. If you need help getting all three stars on a particular mission, I would be happy to help you out. Or if you need help getting achievements, I would be happy to help you with that, as well --if you will do me the same courtesy. I am looking for people who are true 'team players' --players who enjoy coordinating and working together to accomplish the mission. I am NOT looking for players who run off doing their own thing when the mission begins or who compete with me during a mission. Also, I enjoy accomplishing missions by use of skill and cunning, so if you are using any kind of hack or other 'enhancements', you need not apply.

EDIT: I should have mentioned that I am only looking for PC gamers.

My computer's monitor decided yesterday to surprise me by interrupting its 16-month streak of perfect operation with a major fuck up. Now, when I turn it on, the picture comes up dim, waits a second, and then goes black. Troubleshooting monitors is virtually impossible and it is far beyond its warranty, so I am left with but one recourse: replace it.

The good news is, it will be an upgrade. My new monitor is a 20" LCD instead of a 17", and its contrast ratio is a whopping 50,000:1 instead of my previous 8,000:1.

The bad news is, until my new monitor arrives, I'm stuck using the comparatively-ancient computer at my parents' house --far from my pen tablet, scanner, and artwork files. So commissions and other works are temporarily on hold.

With the arrival of the Autumn equinox, the oppressively hot and humid Summer is finally over. I shall miss the lush green foliage on the trees and the warm rain storms that are perfect for playing in. But I won't miss sweating like a hog all the time nor the abundant insect population. Now I can enjoy the cool nights and changing of the leaves for a few months before I have to start preparing for the frigged bite of Winter.

I'm going to be away from my computer until Monday, September 20, 2010. Catch y'all later! :-D

Yay, Spring is finally here! That was an excessively cold and dark Winter. I'm thrilled to be done with it. Bring on the sunny days, warm rains, and blooming forest vegetation!

This is a small addendum to my Commission Information journal entry and covers the inclusion of one or more of my characters in a commissioned or fan-art picture.

I have no objections to drawing any of my characters in a commissioned picture or having other artists draw my characters in their own artwork¹. However, my established characters will have some limitations as to how they may be included in a picture based on their "personalities." I define an established character as any character that I have drawn two or more times. My established characters are listed below, along with what type of pictures they may appear in².

Those who draw any of my characters in their own artwork must include "CharacterName © Netherwulf" in legible print somewhere on the picture as well as in the picture's description, and accompanied by a link to my Fur Affinity page. _<colon>iconnetherwulf_<colon> or furaffinity.net/user/netherwulf

Commission Price List
All prices are in US Dollars ($)

Digital Line Art: .......... $25.00 + $10.00 for each additional character.

Digital Flat Color: ....... $40.00 + $10.00 for each additional character.

Digital Full Color: ....... $60.00 + $10.00 for each additional character.

Backgrounds
All commissions come with your choice of a background color, gradient, or simple pattern. Drawn and colored backgrounds will cost extra and the price will depend upon their complexity.

Props
Small, simple foreground objects, such as chairs, beds, etc..., are free, so long as there are relatively few of these objects. More complicated props, such as vehicles, machines, etc..., will cost extra and the price will depend upon their complexity.

Limitations:
I will draw virtually anything that you desire, with only a few exceptions:


* Scat: This includes anything containing feces, vomit or mucus. Urination (watersports) is acceptable, yet borderline.

* Excessive Gore: I've been known to produce a fun necrophilia picture from time to time, but anything containing excessive blood, dismemberment or disembowelment is out. If you are unsure whether your commission counts as “excessive,” feel free to ask.

* Vore: I'm a vegetarian. :P

* Inflation/Hyper: All things in moderation. ;)

* X-Ray/Internal: That is, any picture where you are able to "see through" some part of the character's body or to their internal organs. This does not include species that have a natural transparency to some part of their body.

* Comic Strips/Picture-in-Picture: I only do single-frame images. I will not create comic strip-type pages nor pictures containing more than one point of view.

* Humans: I am a furry/anthro artist. I do not draw hentai/manga characters. There are some rare exceptions to this rule (and you are welcome to ask,) but, generally, I avoid drawing human characters.


Please note: There may be subjects or themes, not listed here, that I do not wish to draw, and I reserve the right to refuse any commission that I feel uncomfortable with.


Commissioning, Payment, and Receipt:
Those wishing to commission me for a picture may contact me by either a note on FA (Private Message) or at my email address, netherwulf.art@gmail.com.

In this correspondence, please provide as much detail as possible about the picture that you wish to commission. State how many characters there will be, what species will be present, what poses the characters are in, any preferences that you may have toward the camera angle (POV), and any preferences you may have toward the “feel” of the picture –for example, dark or scary, romantic, elegant, calm, fast-paced, blue, amber, monochrome, etc... When available, links to reference pictures are greatly appreciated. Also, be certain to supply your contact information, either your email address or FA username, so that I can reply to your inquiry.

I may contact you several times while gathering needed information about a commission. This does not constitute my acceptance of your commission. If/when I decide to accept your commission, I will send you a correspondence stating that I have accepted your commission, providing the details of your requested picture, and quoting its cost. Once you have replied to this correspondence and agreed to the cost of the picture, I will add your name to my Commissions List, which is displayed at the top of my FA page, and begin working on your commission as soon as possible.

Please note that I may have a backlog of commissions currently being produced. The position of your name on my commissions list will determine the likelihood that I'm working on your commission. That is, the higher your name is on the list, the more likely it is that I'm currently working on your picture and the sooner it will be completed. Although I try to complete commissions as fast as possible, I do not work on a deadline. Therefore, if your commission requires completion by a certain date, this will need to be discussed upfront and may cost extra depending on my current workload.

No money is exchanged until your commission is compete. As your commission is developed, I will send to you previews of my works-in-progress (WIPs) at various stages of completion. These are scaled-down, low-quality, watermarked images meant only to provide you with a basis for approval or to suggest changes be made. These images are not to be posted or redistributed by you at any time. After you approve the provided preview, I will move on to the next step in the commission's development.

You will be notified when I have completed your commission and given a preview (similar to the WIP previews) of the finished product. At this point, only minor changes may be requested. Once you are satisfied with your commissioned picture, payment may be rendered. All payments are handled through PayPal and you will be sent a “payment request” via the PayPal service when payment is due. This will provide you with all the information necessary to send your payment.

Upon receipt of your payment, I will send you a link (usually within 24 hours) where you may download your finished, full-scale, high-quality commission. I send commissions in this way, rather than posting them to FA, so that you, the commissioner, has complete control of the release and distribution of your commissioned picture; and can alone enjoy all of the faves, watches, and comments that it may generate. However, I do reserve the right to post the image to my scraps folder after an elapsed time of one month (30 days).

Artist credit given to me in the Description section of your submitted commission is highly appreciated, although not required. :)

I know it has been awhile since I posted anything substantial, and I'm sad to report, it may be awhile longer. There is a large project that is taking up most of my time right now, and when some free time does magically appear, I try to get away from the computer to spend it. I've got a pic waiting to be posted for Halloween, so that's something to look forward to. Beyond that, though, it could be several weeks before anything new gets posted.

Don't forget about me while I'm gone.

Back in June of 2008, I was contacted by Cheetah of The Jab Archives with a proposition: If I would create a CD portfolio, he would put it up for sale in TJA's store. I agreed and by that October I had finished my “Neapolitan” art CD. When I contacted Cheetah and informed him of its completion, he responded simply with, “Cool.” No request to view it was tended, no interest was shown in publishing it, and no apologies were offered for wasting four months of my time and effort. With him unwilling to uphold his end of our deal, I sat on the CD for more than eight months until he contacted me yet again, this time offering me a website on TJA. Unaware that history was poised to repeat itself, I once again naively excepted his offer. Soon thereafter he requested that I send him the CD, once again offering to sale it in TJA's store.

That was four months ago.

In that time, I have complaisantly accepted numerous apologies and excuses as to why the CD has not been put up on the site, and promises that it soon will be. I pride myself on being a patient and understanding man, but I do have limits as to how much bullshit I will tolerate.

Business relationships, like all relationships, are dependent upon mutual benefit to all the parties involved. When I accepted Cheetah's offer and created a website on TJA, I thought it would act as a springboard for my art –broadening my fan base and providing me with a means of making money through the sale of art CD's and the like- and at the same time, Cheetah would benefit from the additional traffic that my fan base would bring with it to his site and the money he would make from his cut of my CD sales. To uphold my end of that arrangement, I embarked on the lengthy undertaking of relabeling all of my 80+ submissions to include a link to my new TJA site, and informed my fans that I would only be posting on Fur Affinity previews and links to the new pictures that I would be uploading to my website –something they were not happy about. Although this was not asked of me, I felt that it was the fair and just thing to do. Unfortunately, though, this partnership has been far from amicable. Despite the enormous, inconvenient, and tedious effort that I have put into creating and maintaining my TJA website, I have seen virtually nothing in return from it. And I'm not done! Now Cheetah has requested that I create three images for an end-of-the-year compilation CD that he wants to put together –one that I'm sure he'll have no problem finding the time to upload to his store. Of course, I wouldn't see any money from that project.

The more I think about it, the more I realize the folly of continuing to expend my time and effort to help someone who refuses to spend even ten minutes helping me. I've had enough. I have decided to leave TJA, and as such, I will soon be updating all of the preview images that I've posted to my gallery here on FA with the full images that were previously exclusive to my website. Furthermore, all of my new artwork will once again be released on Fur Affinity.
