Cybersquatters and Andorozon.com
General | Posted 16 years agoHello everyone,
It was brought to
kensingshow and my attention that Andorozon.com, the homepage for Ken's comic was rightfully snatched up by a cybersquatter. Ken was unaware of what was required to maintain ownership of a URL and unfortunately, the webhost Andorozon was at was unable to remind him of the nearing term of Ken's ownership. So all's fair in love and money, but it seems like such a shame. The cybersquatter has done the same for other people, if you Google his name, and others have lost their domain names because of them allowing their lease to lapse. I just don't understand how a squatter, this specific one in this case, can own over 772 domains and not go bankrupt. That's quite the investment to make hoping that someone will pay big bucks for their domain to be returned. So thank you to everyone out there who have mentioned that the URL now goes to a squatter page, and I have advised to Ken that he not contact the new registrant of the domain name and use a service like godaddy.com which will attempt to "snipe" the domain back when it expires in July 2010. Appearing 'unintersted' in reobtaining the domain will hopefully make the new registrant complacent and not renew next year. Otherwise, does anyone else have any ideas?

Neysa

First submission...
General | Posted 16 years agoHello everyone,
Well, that was fast,
timkangaroo colored and submitted the first, and let's hope many, contest pieces. You can find his submission here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2595013
Now, you'd better go out and get your PoliSci books from the closet and dust them off to understand what sociopolitical commentary/discussion Neysa and Wasabi are having. For a little background, the JDP is similar to our Democratic party, while the current government in power for some time, the LDP, is similar to the Republican party. And as for the panties statement, well, that's just Wasabi being Wasabi. Take a look and if you want to have fun, the original is here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2592807
Have a great non-sociopolitical influenced afternoon!

5000+ page views and Andorozon.com
General | Posted 16 years agoHello everyone,
I just noticed today that I have over 5000 page views. Thank you so much. I'm pretty proud of that seeing that I try to keep low from drama or starting all sorts of controversial flame wars as I've seen on this place. So thank you to everyone who has watched me or just pokes in every once in a while.
And as for http://www.Andorozon.com
kensingshow website is back online after some maintenance. Please visit it for interesting information of those nutty, yet lovable anthroids some of you drool over! I'm sure if Rokki were here right now, she'd give me a blank, cynical look, but it's true! Without your support, she and Merry would be going door to door selling the Venture vacuum "Boom Broom". See, aren’t you glad you could help? Keep on reading!

The King and I....
General | Posted 16 years agoHello everyone,
ebonyleopard has just posted a commission he finished for
hyenafur based on the wonderful story, "The King and I", with he being the King and me as Anna. I love the costumes and especially the dress Shawntae drew on me. Simple, yet elegant, although it shows a bit more cleavage than I would expect for that time period. And Hyenafur's outfit is lovely as well. I think that because Hyenafur is more entranced with the ways of ancient Egypt, the background is based on that. So a great big "thank you" to Hyenafur for including me into his commission, and a great big "thank you" to Shawntae for doing such a wonderful and flattering job.

I think I'm going to throw up...
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
Tonight was an amazing yet terrifying night. I was involved in an eight car pileup on the freeway, but I did not get hurt, nor did my rental car suffer even a little scratch. I have come down from the adrenaline rush so I can actually sit down and recall what happened because I want to write this down before I forget most of the details tomorrow. The thermometer in the car said that it was 5F and dropping, and I had just got on the freeway. Road conditions were poor, but still drivable as long as you kept your distance, and slowed down. There are two southbound lanes that are separated from the northbound lanes by a large, unobstructed median. It is night, perhaps 2030 and not many street lamps. I am approaching a bridge, see a car in the right lane with the hazard lights on and I am in the passing lane. I wrongly think that the person with the hazard lights is just driving slowly, as people sometimes do, and that is why they have their lights blinking.... as I approach, I realize that this car is trying to warn others that there is a dark green sedan perpendicular across both lanes and the nose buried against the railing of the bridge and the driver of the wrecked car is trying to wave me off in his dark snow jacket. I hit my brakes and the tires make a horrible, horrible squealing noise of snow and these ridges in the surface of the bridge to aid in traction. ABS has failed as there is not enough friction on the black ice covered bridge to keep them spinning and the nose of my car starts to slide 90 degrees to the right, then almost 180 degrees back towards traffic after I narrowly passed the original car with the hazard lights on. This rental had no traction control so amazingly I slammed on the gas which spun the front drive wheels against the direction of the skid and actually stopped me. Finally I slid to a stop with my nose back to the 90 degree position facing the barrier on the slow lane without hitting a thing! Now two cars were blocking traffic on the freeway, so I turned on my hazard lights, and told the wrecked car driver that we have to move his vehicle off of the road. He and I pushed and finally got it off the side of the road but while we were doing this, a car three or four cars back rearended someone else then they got rearended. I moved my vehicle in front of the original wrecked car on the shoulder of the passing side when I heard yelling ahead. A person who knew the driver I was helping had hit someone in front of him...
So the damage so far... A car in the very front lost control on the bridge, a car behind that one rear ended the first car, the third car, who was the one I helped push off the road, hit his brakes, lost control and hit the side of the bridge hard enough that his airbag deployed, then there are two more rearends behind us several cars back.
I call 911 and they say that they have had calls and are aware. I am trying to help the driver whose car I pushed off the road to see if he is okay, and to tell him to turn his hazards on. He is walking around in shock, so after I yelled at him three times, he finally turned them on as his car was basically invisible in the darkness. As I am speaking to him, I hear that horrific tire on snow and bridge sound again and look... a small sedan is heading towards us at speeds in excess of 25 mph, zooming past all the stopped cars behind us and finally I yell at the injured man to jump into the median behind the bridge barriers. Then this new car ends up hitting a large Mazda SUV which spins it 270 degrees and is deflected away from us into the opposite barrier! I ask the driver I have been helping if he is okay, which he says he is, then I go over to the SUV and see if the driver is okay. She says she is but terribly shaken up, so I told her that she should stay in her car, as it was warm, especially if she goes into shock, and probably safer for her in there than out where it was slippery to just walk across the bridge. The small sedan, whose headlights I will never forget heading towards me then popping into the air as he hit the Mazda SUV... was driven by a young man, still in his teens... and I am sure, wasn't paying attention at all.
Finally the police arrived in force. Out of nowhere, more than three police cars were on the scene and six officers were walking around with flashlights assessing each driver. When they got to me, I explained that I had no injuries, damage and only stopped to help that driver get the vehicle off the road. Then I asked if they needed me to stick around, they said they would take it from there, so I left. I was so pumped up on adrenaline for a while that I was shaking. It wasn't until about 30 minutes later that I almost threw up. So now that is all over. I saw my mortality twice tonight. Once as I almost "T-boned" that green sedan, and second when that car was racing towards us, sliding across the ice. That sound of the snow squealing, the vision of the headlamps and the smell of car fluids melting into the road... God, now I do hope I forget this by the morning...
Bless us all.

Neysa

Turning a new leaf...
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
kensingshow and I have been working on a character for the potential spin-off of Andorozon! unofficially called "Andorozon Hai!". In which we see the Andorozon girls growing up in a special High School academy. Here is his interpretation of Zora as a young adult (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1864777/). We have many plans for her, most of which will startle or amaze you, especially if you are familiar with the Andorozon universe, and you can actually see her in one of Zora's flashbacks in Andorozon! Issue 1. Take a look and we hope you approve. Now if we can only figure out what the prom theme will be.... :)

for your enjoyment. Make sure the kiddies aren't around, and if they are, be sure to cover their eyes, as he's made me expose some naughty bits, that I don't think I ever would if it were up to me. But it is flattering to think that someone dreams of me like this.

Sadness...
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
I'm not looking for sympathy, but I just need to talk. I was driving down a busy street today and cars were all stopped for a red light. Traffic began moving when I saw a big orange tabby in the center median attempting to make a dash across the road when a small SUV in the fast lane clipped the animal in the head. The poor cat's life was extinguished immediately, almost as if someone had just turned off a switch.. Then to top it all off, some oblivious older woman in a Suburban finished off the cat if there was anything left to finsh and in my rear view mirror, I saw her just keep on yakking away on her cell phone. But what makes me want to cry the most is that I am as guilty as the small SUV that hit the cat as I too, never even slowed down or stopped to take the cat off the road. I just watched horrified and kept going. I have confirmed that I am a total hypocrite of one trying to 'help' animals, but then not stopping because I am embarrassed to confront others or to make "a stand". I feel for the protection of dolphins and elephants, or will feed and "fix" strays, but swat flies, use mousetraps and eat beef. I don't know why the tabby decided that it needed to cross the road during rush hour, but it's life is gone, in a blink of an eye and I wasn't willing to make a stand. Thanks for listening to me blather on. My soul appreciates it.
Sincerely,
Neysa

The reason you need to watch her is because I believe that she has a great future in illustration, and she needs your support! Encourage her with your kind words and you too can be amazed at her talent and fanciful imagination! Be sure to check out her illustrated fanfic of Warfare, from the Extinctioners by

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3_m8yORGRk
"Out of my window, I could see them in the moonlight;
two silhouettes saying 'good night' by the garden gate..."
Like, oh mah god! It was like Ninteen Eighty THREE...Three...three...
Los Angeles was preparing for the '84 olympics, and the town was painted in pastel colors; for a guy, being a "preppy" was cool, with their penny loafers and wool sweaters tied around the shoulders of their pink Izod polo shirts with their collars sticking straight up; girls were wearing leg warmers over everything and teasing their hair and killing the Ozone at an astonishing rate; and the joke going around was, "How can you tell if a DeLorean drives past you? There's no white lines on the road."; love them or hate them, Ewoks were introduced into our culture; and yes, Michael Jackson looked like...well like Michael Jackson.
Anybody remember other things that happened to them in 1983? And let's try to keep it happy because a lot of "BAD" things happned that year too.

Dude, it's the 80s!
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
I was speaking to
jodimest regarding the 80s and what it meant, at least to me, growing up in Southern California during the New Wave heyday. I've been posting on my profile my "song of the week" for some time now, but I think there's a better way to share the love of the 80s. So I've thought of some silly things to do, like this. See the following video and tell me what outfit you think would look good on me, or at least fit my persona the best. I've got an little tally going on, and surprisingly enough, it is not what I thought it would be coming from the few furs I've spoken to about this. So if you have a few minutes, take a look, ponder and post. I'll be posting more journals in the future with video links to my "80's song of the week". So stay tuned, and remember.... like I'm totally freakin', fer shure!
Love,
Neysa

General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
Well, now that FA is back online, the impending storm of journals and submissions will be upon us. Here's hoping that the new servers and code can keep up with the requests, and if anything, this is the best "go live, performance burn-in" you could ask for a new system. Good luck FA!

Sadness....
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
I just wanted to share how sad I am right now. A stray cat that has been hanging around, nicknamed "Strut", is dead. I found him in the grass next to the road. I don't think he was very old, and he wasn't very fond of people. He has a curiosity about what people were, but tended to stay away. But just before he died, he and I built a rapport in which he would venture within a foot of me. He was very handsome with lovely confirmation, and he carried himself with dignity and playfulness. I know he was a stray, and that I never held him, but still, he was magnificent, and will be missed. Since then, I have given him a decent burial with the help of my neighbor and hope he is in a better place. Sorry to ramble on, I just had to get this off of my chest.
Sincerely,
Neysa

Comic featurettes...
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
I am sure that some of you reading this feel that
kensingshow it a talented artist. He entertains us with his art and storylines, but did you realize that he has very high quality control standards? That's right, he wants only the best for you, his fans, which definitely shows in his comic book ANDOROZON! But I did tell him that I always like the 'behinds the scenes' featurettes on DVDs as I'm sure other fans do as well. So with a little persuading, by both his fans and I, he has been very generous in allowing some of his conceptual and 'just for fun' drawings to be released in the next few weeks. So stay tuned, I'll be showing you some 'behind the brains of Andorozon' pictures. We hope you enjoy them!

General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
Just my silly responses to a silly meme stolen from
IndigoAngelCat I hope you don't over analyze it too much, it's just how I was brought up.
WHAT DO YOU CALL:
1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks.
A creek, or 'crick' as my neighbors call them.
2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called.
A shopping cart, although some of the 'old timers' call them 'buggies'
3. A metal container to carry a meal in.
Lunch Pail
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in.
A frying pan
5. The piece of furniture that seats three people.
Sofa ...as in 'sofa king we ta...' you know what I mean.
6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof.
Gutter, or eavestrough
7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening.
Porch or veranda
8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages.
Soda pop
9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup.

A sub sandwich
11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach.
Swimming Trunks
12. Shoes worn for sports.
Sneakers
13. Putting a room in order.
A bit confusing, but I would say, 'Tidy up'.
14. A flying insect that glows in the dark.
Firefly or lightening bug
15. The little insect that curls up into a ball.
a Rolly-polly
16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down.
See-saw
17. How do you eat your pizza?
I eat from the pointed end to the crust. We call the crusts 'pizza bones'.
18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
Garage sale
19. What's the evening meal?
Dinner
20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?
Basement
21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places?

100 brush strokes a day...
General | Posted 17 years agoHello everyone,
Well,
rabbi-tom has done it again. He's drawn another beautiful picture of me 'letting my hair down'. I was always taught that you had to brush your hair 100 strokes a day (or backwards to tease it during the 80's!) so here I am taking my time off work and after hours. I guess all I need now is a margarita!
