Mid-season update
General | Posted 12 years agoThanks for being patient guys, the crew has been at FurFright over the weekend and are just getting back to their normal lives. Week 8 results will be posted tomorrow along with Week 9 matchups.
For now, since we've reached an effective halfway point, let's hear your Super Bowl predictions and whether or not they're different from what you predicted just before week 1. Based on standings alone one could argue that the Chiefs will be taking on either the Saints or the Seahawks.

End of Preseason plus updates!
General | Posted 12 years agoThanks a bunch for those of you who participated in the preseason edition of the Prediction Challenge. It helped us figure out how to better streamline the processes involved before the actual week 1 kickoff. If you have any sports-minded buddies who you think might enjoy this let 'em know!
There will be a small change to the cutoff format for predicting games each week; since the week will end Monday night and begin again on Thursday that only leaves two days to make selections and for die-hard number crunchers that just isn't enough time. So, starting with week 1 of the regular season the matchups will appear in a journal every Monday and rather than set a deadline to submit all picks before the Thursday kickoff you may now, if you choose, make selections before each night's games (Thursday, Sunday, and Monday) before the first kickoff on each of those nights. The only requirement is that if you do this method you'll need to respond to your own original journal entry to keep things easy for us to read. You are still very much welcome to do the "all-at-once" format if you choose. This will be posted, like the other rules have been, at the top of every Selection journal so they will always be visible.
Now then, tell us your thoughts on how this system worked or didn't work for you throughout the preseason and leave any comments or advice you would like to see implemented for the Regular Season. Also please feel free to share any notable moments or news stories you enjoyed during these past 4 weeks.

Preseason Wk.4
General | Posted 12 years ago-During the preseason and regular season you are welcome to note us your selections in advance if you know you might be away for the weekend but we'd prefer if you could just respond to the journal with your picks.
-You may use a team name or a nickname when making picks otherwise we will just use your FA name.
-You do not have to put score predictions in during preseason but feel free to do so if you wish.
-Please list all selections in one comment. They can be as in-depth or as simple as you want. You are free to change your picks up until the first kickoff of every week (usually Thursday night). Once the kickoff for the first game of each week occurs there will be no more predictions allowed for that week.
-When week 1 starts we will be adjusting the prediction rules to make it a little easier to submit predictions throughout the week instead of just the Tuesday and Wednesday between weeks. Keep an eye out for that.
Here are the games for preseason week 4, final week of Preseason!

Preseason Wk.1
General | Posted 12 years agoSo it seems like every team has someone with a torn ACL at this point but preseason games are right around the corner and the teams move on.
Since some of you guys wanted to do a test run of the prediction challenge we'll do it here during the 4 weeks of preseason.
The format is pretty simple; there will be a list of matchups for the upcoming week and you simply select who will win each matchup. You do not have to put score predictions in during preseason but feel free to do so if you wish.

Pre-season stuff!
General | Posted 12 years agoSo only a few days into training camps and 5 teams have already had to cart players off the field with 3 of those being season-ending injuries: Ravens' TE Dennis Pitta, Eagles' WR Jeremy Maclin, and Broncos' C Dan Koppen with the latter two from ACL tears. Not the greatest of ways to start a season but the teams will adapt as always.
Also it's only a little over a month until the Season Opener in Denver which is a great excuse to jump way into the future and predict the Super Bowl matchup and winner! This is not part of the prediction challenge, we're just curious to see what your initial thoughts are and how your SB-XLVII matchup changes as we ask this every 4 games or so =D
Quick question for you guys; do you wanna do a warm-up Prediction Challenge through the 4 weeks of the Pre-season or just go from Week 1?
Finally, thanks for your initial support in following the group. Did not expect this many followers in just a few days. Spread the word if you think your buddies would like to join in, too! Thanks again guys ^^
