Been awhile since I've done a proper journal update so I figured it's about time I got around to it.

As some can see I've been busy trying to get around to posting more and more drawings these days, especially in regards to finished products rather than idle sketches or random doodles. But that also brings me to wanting to ask everyone who bothers to read this a few questions!

For starters, I'm sure many have noticed a big decline in just postings of WIP sketches or the odd simple drawing. What I wanted to ask first was whether or not you guys would prefer to see me post content more often, by uploading more of my sketches and doodles, or if you all still would rather enjoy the finished products I produce less often? Basically whether or not you'd prefer Quantity-over-quality kind of deal.

I have plenty of sketches, both new and old, of all kinds (especially in regards to Tech which I know a few would certainly love :P) and certainly would not mind uploading them if it was to everyone's liking!

For character, make sure to either post a link to a reference picture (if there's none in your gallery) or include a detailed description of the wanted character. Commission notes include any extra information you would like to give such as a specific pose, expression, etc. Most pictures are made at 2000x3000 pixels. Due to the event above all commissions requested must be paid once given a commission slot.

Once paid, the commissioner is granted ownership to the commissioned drawing. They may modify, resize, or change any aspects of the drawing they desire so long as proper credit is given and that they do not claim to have made the commissioned drawing themselves.

Depending on received requests, commissions may take a couple of days to complete. All commission work will halt on the 27th of August and begin again on the 2nd of September (I will be out of town). Well I woke up a couple days ago to a pleasant surprise; I got a feature on SoFurry! Minor accomplishment, I know, but none the less it was nice to see.

Sheesh. It certainly has been awhile since I've written anything. My apologies for the lack of updates recently. I haven't felt very good about my art lately so I've been reluctant to post a lot of the stuff I've drawn lately. I'm gonna try and be more frequent around here though. As always, don't be afraid to drop me a note; I may take awhile to respond but that's just usually because I have other things on the go in the mean time =].

I'm rather both annoyed and perplexed by this particular 'mission'. Though it was in and of itself a rather comical outcome to the 'love plot' of the game, I felt this was a very... Weird punishment for the player. Has anyone else who played this game encounter this particular scene? I'm curious to hear thoughts on it.

Edit: I should also iterate that users should be extremely careful if they should follow the link, the possibility of Malware inhabiting the site is always there and people without sufficient anti-virus/adblocker software should be cautious when attempting to browse.

Interested in getting some art? Any and all are welcome to issue a request here in this journal, just post what you would like to see done. The quality and level of the detail of each will probably vary, I'll also be picking them at random, but none the less don't be shy or afraid to ask. They might get done right away or take quite a bit of time to complete, so check back every now and again! (As long as my motivation holds that is, aha.)

In any case, place your orders here, and I'll see about doing them as soon as I am able. It'd be nice to get something different to draw from the usual Nialus-agenda. Art involving my characters is allowed as well, in case anyone was curious.

I would like to apologize for the lack of activity on my part lately; both on FurAffinity and on Skype. Life has been a turmoil lately and things have been a cluster-bomb of issues that have rendered me completely unable to properly keep up with social life and illustrations. Suffice to say the boyfriend and I are at a point in our lives where we're not even sure what's going to happen/where we're going to end up next. As we try to get ourselves back up on our feet, things have only been desperately trying to knock us back down and in doing so it has put a major strain on both of our abilities to keep in communication with friends among other things. I know a few of you have noticed the rather horrifying near-suicidal state I've been in, and I'm extremely sorry for publicizing it like I did before.

Which brings me to the main reason of this journal, why I've been avoiding people. Some of the closer individuals in my life are well-known to the outright volatile and plainly unacceptable demeanor I tend to have when I'm at a breaking point. It has caused ridiculous amounts of damage in the past and I fear nothing more than causing undue conflict and harm towards said individuals who attempt to sift through the unmitigated disaster that is my personality. Every small issue for me seems to escalate into an out of control state of depression and anger which in turn ends up being directed at friends who do not deserve to be caught in the crossfire to begin with. So I'll continue to tackle this on my own to the best of my abilities, though at this point even I'm starting to grow weary of it.

In any case, I thought at least a heads up was in order. I honestly wish I could just go into a novel-sized rant of everything that is bothering me but I don't even have the energy nor the confidence to do so anymore. I'm tired. So much so that I don't even have the energy to respond to submission comments anymore. (Though trust me, I do read and appreciate every single one of them.)

P.S. There is one last thing I would like to say, which should probably taken with a grain of salt.

If you have somebody/people you are deeply, emotionally involved/connected with; never let yourself become overrun with despair to the point of where you'd risk damaging that kind of relationship. I've made that mistake in the past, and I can tell you, it's half of the reason why I'm no longer the approachable person I even remotely used to be.

Don't end up like me. Don't end up useless and hateful of everything around you. It's outright fucking poisonous.

I remember a time when the game actually was a balanced diet of PvP and PvE co-operative play, but more and more it seems like the game caters to the crowd of assholes who want nothing more than to ruin the experience it offers through a healthy dose of 'wreckin' yo shit'. Every patch it has had, and this also includes Dark Souls I, seems to try and 'balance' the mechanics for Invaders, but nothing ever seems to change for people like myself who'd rather help players on their way through the turmoil in the game and assist them in overcoming challenges that were otherwise seemingly 'impossible'.

I've clocked at least more than 500 hours in both games, and in neither one have I opted to be the guy that seeks to simply destroy the experience and atmosphere the game has to offer for others, often times through the sheer difference in the amount of hours clocked, where players have learned the exploits and easiest methods of defeating fellow players. And don't get me wrong, every now and then I actually enjoy a good PvP match, and in Dark Souls this is especially so. But I'm more of a co-operative play kind of guy and much more enjoy the concept of helping someone, who, like me at one point, has had to experience the constant defeat-after-defeat either due to AI that can cleave through your health in a matter of seconds or players who have discovered the quickest method of knocking you on your ass.

This is proven more-so by the fact that I can sit at a Bonfire with a summon sign placed on the ground, eagerly awaiting a fellow player who desperately needs assistance with a particular boss or area, only to discover (through a Wiki no less) that as I further progress through the game, assistance for others is -severely- limited whereas Invaders are given MORE opportunity to invade your world and kill you for nothing more than shits or giggles because they're tired of the story mechanics and rather re-hash their experience through a 'Call of Duty 2.0' PvP-esque style. I now have to spend my time wilting away hours farming the same boss over and over again just to attain the stats necessary to compete with individuals who have played the game enough to smash through just about any defense I can come up with, with nothing more than their bare fists and a loincloth.

For every summon I receive for co-operative, I am met with at least 5-6 invasions stepping 5 feet away from the 'safe zone' so to speak. This is also mired by the fact that even one of the 'Covenants', a guild of sorts in the game, offers some of the best spells and equipment through PvP play only, whereas with many other 'Covenants' you have to either complete a shit ton of co-operative play in order to get the sub-standard rewards which ultimately become entirely useless by the next playthrough, if you already know what you want and what you're looking for. I honestly wish that the development crew would start considering balancing this out because nothing frustrates me more than people who can chop through 2000+ HP in a matter of seconds (Usually due to a poor connection and far more know-how of the games mechanics) while stating in CapsLock on forums with messages of 'Git gud, noob'.

The game has so much to offer, and it's crazily fun to assist people in the already-lethal world of Dark Souls, without having to stop playing because I'm sitting at a Bonfire for several hours awaiting my next summon while some adrenaline junkie hammers my face in every half-a-minute. In addition to it all, the community has now been split into two because of the recent release of 'Scholar of the First Sin', a re-haul of Dark Souls II (Seriously?), which runs on DirectX 11 and is incompatible with the previous version which was released not that long ago.

Ultimately, I suppose this is nothing more than a tired rant of sorts, but I'm sick of the emphasis on player-versus-player and wish games would consider more the people like myself who enjoy helping others rather than frustrating them, and ultimately, 'rage quitting' the game because they feel its unfair.

Addendum: Some of my fondest memories of the game is of my fellow sunbros who took the time to actually show me that a boss/area wasn't such a horrifying threat if you took the time to learn the enemy's moves and had patience, who would take the burden off my shoulders to accomplish a goal that was a chore for them but an impossible task for someone like myself that wasted countless hours away trying to get through the first time.

Don't offer co-operative play and then penalize the player for it, while catering to the already over-crowded realm of PvP-ers who simply play the game to ruin the experience for others. It's not fun, it's not a challenge, it's just tiring.

So more and more I hear people talking about Sofurry being a pretty rad place to be right now. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to start anew there, since FA just seems to be a rather depressing place to hang around for myself these days. Rather curious to know what the pros and cons of the site are, since I could really use a clean slate at the moment. That being said, I did take a quick gander at the AUP for it and pretty much anything seems to go; which of course means I'll probably delve into more scandalous art pieces for the heck of it if I did decide to go.

(Also sorry if my words seem to be an incoherent mess, it's like 4am and my mind is all over the place right now XD.)

Suffice to say, I'm not all here right now... The spark I once had to flesh out drawings even -I- impressed myself with, is now gone. Guess it feels like there's something missing right now, because no matter how much I try, I just can't bring myself to feel joy when it comes to drawing anymore. It's a constant reminder of mistakes and other things that have left me in a slump.

On a side note however, I know the LucarioXNialus WIP I posted awhile ago has been getting some attention across various sites and many are hoping it'll get finished. I'll do my best to complete it soon, but it'll probably be the last thing I work on to such an extent for however long.
