Bleh, made a diving mistake
Posted 9 years agoBeen a while since my last dive but I felt confident. First mistake was not shaving before going out, spent a lot of my dive having to clear my goggles. Normally not a problem but I decided on low/mid tide under water tunnel route. While it was pretty awesome and an unmistakably humbling experience, the water getting into my goggles made me a bit nervous. The rest went fine even with multiple goggle clearings, got to pet a puffer fish and got a decent pic of a sting ray. But because of a little extra work and faster breathing in the tunnel, I had to cut my dive short about 10 minutes due to unsafe air levels. So I start ascending and stupidly went too quick. Got up fine and back to the beach but some hours after I started feeling the effects of the bends. Ugh, went through about 20 hours of burning chest/throat pains, lower back pains and some sinus/ear pains. Glad it wasn't too bad since it was just a 10-15m dive. I'll know better next time, hopefully.
RMFC, not quite sure
Posted 10 years agoHmm, would be nice to go but, I think I'll only make one day. Trying to decide between this and maybe a Pretty Lights or Milky Chance concert over at Red Rocks. Tough decision for sure, oh and hey to the new watchers! No idea why you'd want to watch me, haha.
Thanksgiving break, time to start all the visits.
Posted 11 years agoGonna be so busy this week. Practically need to be at every corner of Colorado to see everyone. Just hope I get to see everyone and do some fun things.
Have you been treated too kindly by friends?
Posted 11 years agoCause its pretty damn odd. I'm not the coolest person or even interesting, but one of my older friends and also least visited friends is saying that I'm one of the main group's people. Dunno how I made that seeing as how I've only been here 3 years. Not to say I'm not grateful for that. But I've just basically joined a lifelong friend club that is especially hard to join, considering I'm not even white. Plus getting to the top of it, haha.
Had a great time at Denver's Chubbys! Not really...
Posted 11 years agoThis is more so a warning to tourists, foodies and local residents of Denver who are unaware. Please for your own safety do not go to The Original Chubbys at 1231 W 38th Ave. Especially if you are white, law enforcement or dress nicely.
So this is what happened, starting with the back story. I was picking my parents up from DIA after coming from my brothers wedding (I came home earlier in the week). Luckily I was making a 2+ hour plus drive and didn't feel like wearing anything besides casual clothes. Unfortunately my parents still had dressier clothes on from the wedding. My dad especially had a terrible Polo on, it had the homeland security insignia on it very clearly. Well I pick them up and we're wondering what to do, 11 at night and a bit hungry. We look up what's open and not feeling like fast food we decide on Chubbys. The other location we've been to and had zero trouble. This one however is in an already sketch neighborhood. Should have turned around at that point. Decided to just go for it. I stay in my truck to keep an eye on our luggage while my dad and mom went into order. About 10 minutes in I see a couple guys from the suv that just parked in front of me get out and walk in. They come back out not more than 5 minutes later. One stays in the suv and the other grabs something. I thought,"No big deal, maybe they're doing the same as we are". Very wrong. Guy turns his lights on and stares at me. Wasn't until when my parents came out that I fully understood what was going on. Apparently the guy that grabbed something, was getting his gun. He had seen my dad when he first walked in, instantly looked him dead on and yelled "Scrap check! Scrap check! ", then walked out and came back to stand right next to my dad. My dad obviously knows that this guy was pointing out to everyone there that he is a cop. at this point my dad is getting ready for what's next. My dad sees this thug reach for his gun in his back pocket/stuffed down his pants, immediately raises his elbow in preparation to sock this thug in the face and reaches for his own gun. The thug sees this and backs down, thankfully. He leaves shortly after, gets in the suv and leaves with the other guy. All the time I'm sitting there being stared at with high beams in my eyes. So not worth the, now realizing, below average food. Very unsafe neighborhood.

Found an interesting game (Overgrowth)
Posted 12 years agoThis is the first I've ever heard of this game, but it looks really interesting. From the alpha update I watched on youtube, it has some very promising content. http://www.wolfire.com/overgrowth
I'm kinda surprised how I've not heard of this game before, especially since this is their second game. Go give them a look if you like anthropomorphic rabbits, sword fights and computer games.

Personality test
Posted 14 years agoTaken from the oh so many people on my watch list lol. Decided it was about time to do it.
Impulsive
You trust your your instincts. What others may see as rash behavior is, for you, simply going with your gut. Individuals with a high score on the "impulsive" trait tend to try new, sometimes outrageous, things.
You are not timid. For you, spending time microscopically examining the pros and cons of every decision means never getting anything accomplished.
Prudent
You look before you leap, think before you act, consider what you're about to say before you open your mouth to speak; that's why you rarely have to eat your words.
You usually don't get excited easily or blurt out the first thing that comes to mind without considering the consequences.
Unflappable
You are not a slave to your emotions. It takes a lot to upset or unnerve you. That's why you're a good person to have around in a crisis.
You don't let it all hang out, which means that those around you often don't know the pressures you're under or what you're going through. You're not the kind of person people run from in a crisis.
Centered
You often feel balanced and on top of things, even when those around you are freaking out. You're in a pretty good state all the time, and not subject to drastic mood swings.
You don't usually react before you think; you're not ruled by your emotions.
Aesthetic
You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel.
You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job.
Original
You are constantly coming up with new ideas. For you, the world as it exists is just a jumping-off place; what's going on inside your mind is often more interesting than what's going on outside.
You don't feel that the road to success is to be a realist and stick to the program; you never stop yourself from coming up with new ideas or telling the world what you're thinking about.
Slapdash
You believe things will turn out fine even if they don't go precisely according to plan. As far as you're concerned, it's not the end of the world if a project falls short of perfection.
You don't feel compelled to dot every "i" and cross every "t."
Intellectual
You are thoughtful, rational, and comfortable in the world of ideas. People find you interesting to talk to. You're the living embodiment of the saying "You learn something new every day." In general, those with a high score on the "intellectual" trait are employed in such fields as teaching and research, and are enthusiastic about reading, foreign films, and classical music.
You do not avoid abstract conversation, experimenting with new ideas, or studying new things. It bores you to stick to the straight and narrow of what you already know.
Solitary
You are a private person, not very comfortable in a big group, and view excessive socializing as a waste of time.
You not prefer hanging out with others to spending time alone; you do not tend to feel at home in a crowded room, club, stadium, or auditorium.
Private
You don't see the need to share what you're thinking and feeling with everyone in the world, and you tend to present yourself in a somewhat formal way in order to keep your inmost thoughts to yourself. A high score on the "private" trait is a likely indicator that you are among those who can be happily occupied at home, away from the crowds, but, when the time comes, are equally enthusiastic about packing your bags and taking a trip.
You do not consider yourself a "free spirit," whatever that may be, and you're not comfortable expressing yourself without a bit of self-censorship.
