I figured I should put in a new entry since Easter has been over a long while back.
So... how is everyone doing?
I've been doing alright I suppose. I've been having my emotional ups and downs, but thankfully that seems to be a little more balanced these days.
I have been working on artwork gradually. I have some Gaia art I have to finish, but I also have a True Love Meme which I'll post in parts here since the file is REALLY BIG. I would say at least... 3 or 4 parts. 30 pics total, technically. It's definitely not a 1280x1280 meme. Lol. But I figured I could share with you all because it was fun to draw.
I also have another pic idea coming up - possibly a sketch collection of Nikame pondering about something. What it is exactly I won't spoil. But it could make for a potential comic sometime.
Hmm... other than that... my best friend graduates with her masters on Wednesday so I have to be up early for that. Lol So yay!
And of course I've been getting ready gradually for Otakon this year. Anyone else going?
And... -ponders- Oh God. I turn 30 on June 6th. ...Y-yay?
I think that's about it from me. I know I'm not that exciting when it comes to updates, but eh - I like it here and I don't mind keeping everyone posted on here like I do on dA. ^^

What's up?
Not much here. Just a bit groggy since I was rudely awakened to do stuff for the holiday. Lol
Thankfully I got most of my stuff taken care of.
I just gotta cook up everything.
Yesterday I made... oh gosh I think I did 72 mini brownies (all from scratch), prepped turkey a day in advance so all I have to do is just reheat. ...I just have to cook up the ham (heat up), make stuffing, veggies, and heat up rolls. I think that's about it when it comes to the meal. So not so bad.
Not as much complaining at the moment. I think it's because we got a lot of stuff finished super early.
Hmm... well... my aunt doesn't stop by till 2pm... so I don't have to start cooking for a while yet.
Sorry for the lack of art, btw. I've been under a lot of emotional stress lately due to tension around the house and it makes me not want to do much of anything sometimes. It's like walking on egg shells here sometimes.
It's times like these I wish I could just sleep for a whole day. >>; I've been so exhausted that I skipped dinner for a few days because of being too tired to eat.
...but yeah. Enough of that. Hopefully I won't feel as tense sometime soon.
Maybe I'll brew myself some of the strawberry cream tea I bought at Teavana...

Basically to sum it up, we have another thing like SOPA that's trying to be made to still screw over fanfic and fanartists. I'm not sure if this is a hoax or whatever, but it's better to be safe than sorry. General | Posted 12 years agoHey everyone~! Just thought I'd hop on for a moment and wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day~!
I'm not really doing anything today considering all of the snow we have around here and not to mention I am single. Lol But that's okay. It's just funny that you'd think I would not like this holiday because many years back - I was in a relationship right on the holiday. Eh. Doesn't bother me anymore thankfully. I'm over it. If anything I learned from my mistakes and have become stronger because of it. Basically I'm taking a negative and turning it into a positive.
Anyways...I'll probably try to get some art done, work on crocheting, or get absorbed in listening to some Japanese drama CDs I have.
...it's either that or try to play Devil May Cry 1 on hard mode and then cry in a corner. ...y-yeah. I love the game series, but God I'm such a wuss sometimes.
Thankfully though, on Saturday (as long as the weather doesn't suck!) I'll be hanging out with my best friend to shop and giggle over random crap. XD LOL ...I've been having a craving for Teavana tea... must get this weekend... must get...

Yeah.
That's all I could say.
Sorry I didn't do holiday arts again this year. I was almost up for it, but then that mood came crashing down. Don't worry though - the story I'm going to tell you does end kinda pleasantly.
Anyways - the day of Christmas. My mom and I were pretty angry and how she and myself had to do all of the work while my dad hid in the basement (even though his sister was coming over) and my brother was mostly in his room. So this was a "great start" for us.
My aunt gets here and things were pretty good. I just felt awkward because I would've talked to her more, but I was so busy getting dinner ready. Although she was nice enough to give me a Christmas card and $50. That's all I got on the day of the holiday mind you. Everything else I bought for myself, my friend Satura gave me, the cute arts pervynamek02, some Gaiaonline giffties, and Gaiaonline's jedinightwing. So yays! Thanks guys! :heart:
Anyways. my mom would rant at me at times as I was trying to prep dinner which really wasn't helping in a way; if anything it was just making me angrier. But then I started to feel a bit better because I finally was allowed to start making my pizza gyoza. This was when I was at my happiest because it's so much fun making it.
So I already knew my brother and mother liked them, my aunt also loved them~! I was so happy!
Then as I was prepping more, I turned to dad and asked him what he thought of them. He turns to me and coldly states, "...I didn't like them. AT ALL."
My heart SANK. Sure, I know everyone isn't going to like my cooking, but when your own flesh and blood says such a thing to you in a such a manner - it can really bring you down. So I kept my feelings all bottled up inside and my mom just kept telling me don't worry about it and ranting to me about it. I think she was even more mad at him than I was. It was really getting on my nerves and I didn't need that extra pressure.
So then when dessert came, I didn't take any because I was beyond disgusted. I just didn't want to talk to anyone.
So when my aunt left, I turned to my mom and just busted out emotion because I was tired of holding it in. So when my dad returned, mom took him to their room and told him what the problem was. Afterwards my dad came out to apologize, but to me it was not sincere. It sounded angry and annoyed. He was told to do it. So I didn't believe him.
So there I was still mad as hell and hurt. So I didn't even bother doing artwork because of it since I was too emotionally drained. Although it was nice of pimperella over on FB to send me a Skeletor pic. XD Just sayin'.
As hours past though, my dad came up from downstairs and I just kept silent and still. And then he apologizes again. THIS time it was a sincere one because it was coming from him. Not from someone telling him to do so this time. So I forgave him. And I mentioned that mom told me that he didn't like the smell of the gyoza. So I learned he perhaps doesn't like extra virgin olive oil. If he had just told me that from the start instead of saying his dislike coldly - then I would just totally steam them next time!
The thing with my dad though is that he rarely apologizes and mean it. I guess he thinks that sort of thing makes him weak? I dunno. But I actually admire people that can do sincere apologies even when it's hard to do.
So after all of that drama, my night was pleasant. I finally got to try myself the strawberry cheesecake I missed.
So now I just have a slight headache. ^^;
...I'm still a bit bummed I didn't get Christmas art done though. I guess I could make up for it and do winter themed art since I do like doing those, too. We shall see.
Well, I hope all of you had a nice holiday. Mine was insanely rocky and full of drama, but at least it all worked out in the end, right?
Welp. No new TMNT until February. -sadface- So I guess I'll be watching more of the 80s toon. Lol.

Nikame. I know, not very original.
• Where did the name of your Fursona come from?
It's basing on my username I for dA and FA. It's a name from my younger years due to being an anime nerd. ...y-yeah. But the nickname stuck with me beyond that reasoning. But Nikame or NiKame is the same as NiChan name-wise except putting the term kame after the Ni.
• What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?
Red eared slider. I've always loved turtles since I was a child. Plus, I think turtles are very significant to me in bringing me good luck sometimes.
• What color is your fursona and why? Hair/fur/eyes/etc
She's like dark brown/green tints with thin yellow stripe details. Her hair was originally brown, but switched to red. Might switch back to brown... not sure... Her eyes are hazel, she had some tiny markings on her body in spots that are brown, dark yellow-ish plastron... ...her ref pic is over there! -points-
• What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your RL personality?
Nerdy. Lol. Besides that though, she's shy like me, but we're both hopeless romantics. I think those are the big things I relate to with the character.

Oh... huh. I don't think anything, really. I never thought of that exactly. ...I guess... plushies? I don't know.

Updates on Random Things

What's going on?
Not much here.
I haven't been working on too many artworks as of late, but hopefully that's going to change soon.
Especially since I'm going to be working on an pic for 's birthday. One that goes on here and my dA account and the other is going to be an FA exclusive. ...yeah. It's sorta mild adult theme. ...but the idea popped into my brain out of the blue. Lol.
When I'm not drawing though - I've been working on some crochet things. Like I finished up a crochet kind of sweater that is made for a plus woman AND it doesn't look bulky - the patterns actually make it where it's supposed to work with your hips, waist, and overall curves in general! Right now though - I'm starting on a cloak to wear when I go out. ...it's funny how that one seems harder to do than the sweater...
Anyways - other than that - I'm rather irritated I might have to deal with jury duty next month. ...I hated having to experience it once. I don't want this again. >>;; It's not fun at all.
But anyways - I'm sorry for not having much art lately. I love posting here but my problem is I don't have much inspiration to draw for anything/anyone sometimes.

I've been doing okay. I feel bad for not updating journal wise and such here.
Anyways, I've been working-out a lot lately at least 60 minutes a day if I can. I'm trying to lose weight and bring strength to my left knee and ankle that I hurt when I was a child.
So far I lost about 6-10 inches from waist/hips and my knee and ankles are feeling awesome! This is I think technically my 4th week of doing this so far - so I want to make sure I keep it up. I want to look my best for Otakon 2014. n////n

Also, I am planning on doing a new reference sheet for my scaley-sona - Nikame since I changed her hair basing on my current color. XDD I just thought it'd be fun to try since I did it with my TMNT OCs in the past.

General | Posted 12 years agoYeah I know - I haven't posted art here that much, let alone on my dA, but I figured I'd pop in on here and say what's been going on.
Well, after the whole incident in February where my dad ended up going to the hospital, he's been doing a lot better thankfully.
Things seem a little more mellow here now regardless of all of us getting sick during a span of two weeks... although for some reason I didn't seem to have the worst of it and I was the third person to get sick. -blinks- I wonder what that's about?
Anyways - pushing health things aside - I haven't really been doing as much art as I should have been. For some reason nothing clicks in my brain that makes me want to draw it. I hate it when I get moments like that... When it comes to me wanting to be creative, I seem more productive when I'm working on things like crochet projects.
Hopefully, I'll be able to come up with some art some time soon considering I've been hooked to the new TMNT series and for some reason I've been wanting to play Ninja Gaiden games quite a bit (I love playing Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword) ... oh why haven't the plot bunnies been working with me lately?!
Lol. And btw, I am going to Otakon 2013 - so is anyone else thinking about coming? I'm curious because for all I know I could end up meeting some of you people. ^^ I'm shy at times, yes, but it is always fun meeting up with people during convention times.
Anyways - I hope you all are having a nice day so far. Sorry this entry is rather short. I just thought I'd give you all an update on things and that I haven't given up on my FA account. Besides... I love it too much here. ^_^;

How are you all doing this holiday season?
I think I'm doing alright so far. I just have to clean the house in a bit, but I thought I would stop by and post some pictures of stuff around here for the holidays.
Not sure if I'm going to be able to get anything art related done for the holiday, but I figured this would work just as good for right now.
I didn't want to post these as deviations mainly because the pictures are kind of small and my phone isn't the greatest sometimes.
Anyways here's some pics for you all to view:

General | Posted 13 years agoGood Lord! It's been a while since I put a new journal entry here.
Anyways - how are you all doing?
I'm doing alright overall. It's not even close to time yet, but I'm already pumped for Otakon 2013 anyways.
Hmm... besides that - not a whole lot else.
I have been working on more crochet projects at least to take a break from plushie making for a while.
I haven't really drawn anything (Well, worth posting anyways) yet because for some reason I'm in one of those "lack of inspiration" modes. Maybe when I check out the new episode of TMNT this weekend I might get more ideas. (Yes, I've been up in the morning on Saturday, in my TMNT pajamas, holding a bowl of sugary cereal (when available) and at the couch watching TMNT. XDD Yay.)
I'm hopefully thinking on having some art done soon because I know I've been really slow on that lately and it makes me sad.
Oh well... it was nice to color my hair Manic Panic Vampire Red though... turned out quite awesome - I recommend the stuff for anyone wanting to color their hair into not natural colors. ((I didn't even bleach and it looks gorgeous mind you))
And... er... yeah - that's pretty much it.
Well, anyways - I want to thank all of my friends, watchers, supporters - whoever you all are reading this right now - because it's awesome that you guys continue to view my work~!

Hey guys, what's up?
Not much here. I wasn't on FA for a few days since I didn't want to sign on during the time the site was being worked on, but eh - I figured since others were signing on, I figured it'd be alright to do so.
Anyways, I'm recovering from a ... -thinks- 13 day cold (so far) that my mom gave me. XD Thanks for that.
Sorry I've been really slow with art, but rest assured, I am working on something at the moment and I should either have it up either tonight or this weekend. We shall see. It's turtle based and they're all female in this. -thumbs up- It's going to be spiffy. XD I've been working on this particular piece for weeks on and off.
Hmm... other than that, not much going on.
Although I am excited that I ordered myself some Manic Panic hair dye - so my hair will be red this time. And apparently I don't need to bleach my hair to get the right shade! So that makes me happy. XD
Well anyways, I think I'm going to try and work on my art some more and hopefully get more inspiration soon.

Yesterday I had such a random surprise for me.
Apparently when I woke up, I come out into the living room and found out that my parents out of the blue bought me a new computer. I was more confused about getting it than surprised, honestly. Don't worry - I thanked them! It's just I was so weirded out by their sudden gesture. I'm like "...okay.... what did they want this time?" But apparently my dad was responsible mostly for it because he knew I was in need of a new computer and he was spending some of his free time trying to find a new one for me. So special thanks to Dad!
I'm back using an HP Pavilion where originally I was using an emachines. (I used HP when I was in HS mostly.) It has a terabyte of memory (very cool for storing my art!) and this 20 inch wide screen made me nerdgasm because I ALWAYS wanted one! Yaaaays. I can do art so much better with this!
So yeah, hopefully I can get my art finished like I wanted. I have a Transformers based art I've been holding back, and the other is more towards the scaley community that involves a few turtle girls. So be on the lookout for that soon.
Otherwise, there isn't much else for me to say. XD
I think maybe I'll try working on that art, now.

General | Posted 13 years agoOi, sorry I haven't really updated in posting here as much. I've been slow with artwork as you can tell.
However, I am working on something so hopefully that'll turn out fine. XD
Besides that - as you probably noticed in my recent art, I was at Otakon.
I had a lot of fun! I was with my best friend of 12 years, and I met up with pervynamek02 again. Loads of fun. X3 And I even met up with another friend of mine 
SoinyMariaRose! I actually managed to meet everyone that I wanted to meet with. ^^
I did pretty good spending money wise - I had about... -thinks- $95 left I think. Anyways, I snagged myself a DMC4 Dante print in the artist alley, also cat ears/paws/tail set, and a red rose ring and earrings. At the Dealer's Room I snagged myself a cute tiny turtle keychain, a pair of Onmyodo shoes (I'm sad they're going out of business...), a long green wig (it's NiNi green. Omg.) ...and... wow. I think that's it. I didn't get a whole lot this year.
If anything I was just happy to be with my friends. ^^ I did check out the Transformers Panel with pervynamek02 though! That was interestingly fun. Very funny that as I walked around with my Optimus Prime Kitty plush that people would stop and ask me about it. I think my favorite moment though was when I was at the hotel with my best friend, there was this mother and two kids passing by and one kid says, "OPTIMUS PRIME!" I just smiled so much and said, "That's right! Would you boys like to hold him?" And they were happy about that - and even the mother was happy. ^^ I'm usually not much for children, but holy crap that was adorable.
Other than that it was a lot of fun hanging out in my hotel room and watching TMNT during the evening. XD Oh the craziness.
...plus it was very funny to find out that Micheal Sinterniklaas was in the same hotel I was in. It's really a funny story:
I was coming back from 7-11 with pervynamek02 and right from the elevator stepped out someone that looked familiar to me. I froze for a good solid minute and then yell out, "A-Adrian! Did you know who that was that stepped out?! That was Mike Sinterniklaas (voice of 2003 Leonardo)! D: "
Needless to say, I had a mini nerdgasm. I already met the guy twice before, and I wasn't planning on seeing him this year. But BOOM - he was right there. So in a sense I did get to see him. XD;
Hmm... Other than Otakon... not much else going on. I am working on lineart for a pic that is actually turtle oriented.
And yes, I'm still excited for the new series coming up. xD
I think that's about it for me. I'm kind of out of it from being ill, but I'm better than how I was thankfully.

I've been so busy cleaning around the house lately. So pardon the dust.
Anyways, I'm taking a break from cleaning my desk for now. I came across a trailer for the new TMNT series coming up this fall.
And let me tell you. The first time I saw things from it before this video, I was kind of on the fence with it.
However, when I saw this trailer today, I actually loved it. The turtles are even more expressive, the trailer has a lot of effort put into it, their voices sound adorable in my opinion - it looks like we're in for a real treat. Let's hope it brings old fans back and bring some new ones.

I'm alright. Sorry I've been slow on updating my art as of late, but hopefully that'll change soon. I've just been in kind of an art rut as of late; basically not wanting to draw. It's random, but maybe I'll be inspired soon since I do have some ideas I wouldn't mind setting up.
Maybe I'll think of something when I see my best friend this Saturday. She usually makes me think of the craziest things at random. Heh heh.
Well... that's about it from me. Not much else going on. Although I have been losing weight lately so yay for me. XD
