Posted 3 years ago Eeyup, we finally here. Coincidentally, March 1st falls on a Tuesday, making it the optimal day to inform you that I am now, officially, on break. I'll have minimal time online and I'll only be drawing what and when I feel like for the duration of the month. Posted 3 years ago Wow-wee it's been a couple months. Not a whole lot to report here, I'm chewing through comms as best I can. I'll be taking next month off for some much-needed recovery, so I'll have a reduced online presence and I'll only really be drawing when I feel like it.
Been kind of a long time coming; I actually foresee myself collapsing into a pile of bones and ash on March 1st once I turn all my pain inhibitors off again, so that'll be fun to see.

Posted 4 years ago I was waiting until I was in a better mood so I could spin this more positively, but a better mood never stuck around for very long. Honestly, anyone who's commissioned me in the past six months or so could probably tell that this hasn't been a great year anyway, and I do thank you all for your patience (or forgetfulness in a couple situations, which, yeah that felt great...). For anyone whose patience has reached its limit, you are welcome to request a refund. I keep enough cash on hand to refund a portion of my orders at any given time, so you are welcome to it; no hard feelings.
In summary, it hasn't been a fantastic year. Obviously had its ups to go with the downs. Important people entered my life, I feel like I connected better with friends, I feel like I made improvements in my art, Guilty Gear Strive came out. But it's just been kind of hard to ignore the weight of the rest of the year at this point. Any attempt I make to try and move forward seems to stumble, and costs huge amounts of time and energy. Sometimes it feels like the universe is just kind of conspiring to make me to just brute-force my work until I can't anymore (which will come much sooner than later, at this point), and I'm just out of ideas and energy and I'm still feeling overwhelmed by my workload.
I don't really want to get into details, as this isn't the place for it. I'm staying positive, as I usually do, for the coming year but I frankly don't have a plan anymore. I don't want anyone to worry about me or anything, I always figure out a way to pull through, it's just that it feels like it's taking longer than usual this time.

Posted 4 years agoSo I guess I ended up giving the month's heads-up after all. Anyway, here are my new prices:
REBATE OPTION:
When you place an order for a solo cell-shaded piece, if you agree to allow me to auction off the character after I've drawn it, you will be entitled to a portion of the proceeds in the form of a refund of UP TO 100% of your initial commission payment, proportional to the amount for which the character sells. IE: character goes for $60, you'll get a $30 rebate, if it reaches your commission payment or higher, you get all your money back. If the character is AB'd, you stand to earn 100% of your commission payment, PLUS an additional 15-20% profit.
This was intended for character creation, however, if you have an old character you no longer want, you can have me draw and sell this character.
Rebates also have a $20 discount
EXPEDITING OPTION: My delivery time on commissions averages around 8 weeks (though I expedite simpler commissions and bone-throws when able). However, if you want to speed things up, you can pay a fee to expedite the commission. Pay 1.5x the commission's price to have it done in 30 days or fewer, pay 2x the cost to have it done in 7 or fewer.
COLLABORATION OPTION: Want your commission done faster, but don't want to pay to expedite? Maybe consider a collaboration commission! The concept is really simple: you pick one artist from the folder group in my gallery labeled "Collaborations" to work with me on your commission, increasing its speed and color variety. Each artist also comes with a link to their full FA profile and a list of what they will or will not draw in a collaboration. For the time being, our collabs use my normal prices.

The fee will vary from case to case, but it won’t be too intense. Maybe just an extra ~$5-$10.

Haha I shouldn't have opened my fat fucking mouth. I'm a bit injured and can't really work at my desk for a day or two, so the upload and September print will be delayed by a couple days :I Nothin' serious, just some back problems from hefting these enormous nuts.

Posted 4 years ago Hey y'all. Bit of an important announcement today. I'm going to become more focused on Patreon starting within the next month or so. The unfortunate reality is that I need to cut back on commissions and get more income through revenue. As you can see, my commission queue is enormous, and while my turnaround time isn't actually the worst in the world, it's slowly becoming impossible to keep it at a manageable number. I need to continually take new orders to keep up with bills and maintain my savings, and though I believe I've improved my technique, I don't feel comfortable raising my prices so soon after the financial hardships of the last year. The damage to my body from essentially playing catch-up 24/7 is starting to mount as well, and I'm starting to feel strains and fatigue more regularly.
Now, this doesn't mean that I'll be moving away from commissions, or even semi-regular FA uploads, but it would mean a lot to me if my audience were to pledge to my Patreon. Not only has it been getting all of my high-res files weeks in advance for the past few years, but I plan to open up fanart polls again. What's more, in the next month or two, I plan to open a new tier of patronage that offers prints and stickers. I've already begun collating the first few images from my gallery that were print-worthy, as well as collecting designs for SFW stickers. I intend to use this month's Patreon income to fund it so that I'm able to shop around for the proper materials and roll out physical merch soon.

TMI Update Friday, New Commission Orders On Hold
Posted 5 years ago Haha whoops. It's been a whole month since I uploaded, and two since I left an update. November was a tiny bit rough, I'll admit. December's been going better so far (it was my birthday yesterday, and that probably helps), but I've been playing catch-up so far. On that note, I'll be freezing new commissions for a little while, maybe barring bone-throws. Granted, my factory-line method means that my queue isn't actually quite as bad as it looks, but I still need to cut away at it, and I can't really add new commissions to it while I'm doing that. Plus, with Christmas around the corner, I can't guarantee I'll always be available.
If the queue's looking too daunting, or times are just getting tough around the holidays, I do keep enough cash on hand to refund a percentage of my queue. You can note me, ask for a refund, and it'll be given with no hard feelings.

Update Tuesday, Evening Out A Little!
Posted 5 years ago Howdy y'all, been a while! It sure was a rough goddamn month, wasn't it?
But, I'm happy to say I'm...mostly back to working order? I'll be honest, I don't know 100%. I still have a lot of soreness, and down days, and things here really haven't entirely gotten better, but I'm back to being excited about art and projects again, and no longer dreading my mornings. Every now and then, I still need to kind of duck out, isolate, and decompress, but I feel generally good about working again.
I feel like I've gotten a lot closer to Fray in the last month, just chilling out, doing Gundam stuff, playing video games, doodling whenever I've got the energy. It's been nice. Thank you all for being supportive, 'specially those of you who bought bone-throws to keep me afloat while I lacked the energy for complex pictures.

Posted 5 years ago Sorry if that title sounds kind of bait-y, but there's just kind of a lot going on around here and it's honestly too much to summarize. But the largest and most devastating event was learning of the death of a dear friend, 
ladygreer, on Monday. We'll all miss her immensely.
Drawing is very hard, right now. I only really have the energy for simple pictures, maybe bone-throws. I'm slowly going down my list and refunding the people who have been waiting too long without a WIP, or whose images might be too much for me to draw in the coming month or so.
I'll upload what I have tonight, since I haven't uploaded in a month now. Then I might go back to being somewhat quiet on the internet for a little while. I'd really just like to draw some personal art, or make some gifts for my friends.

Woo, what a trip it's been. So my hiatus is finally over, I'm gettin' back into normal business. Fray's initial COVID test came back negative, and neither of us are showing any symptoms, so it looks like we're in the clear. Patient 0 might have even had a false positive, so it looks like we're all in the clear. Thank you all again for your support while I was "away", it really means a lot to me.
So, we're gonna' get back to it! My arm still needs rest periods, but I'm steadily working through commissions, and I'll be taking some new orders. I would highly recommend prospective commissioners look into my collaboration option, as that will get you a faster turnaround and it's a little less strain on my arm. I will still be open for normal commissions, but I can only take a few at a time for the time being.
Hokay, let's get to the fun part: July is the BURRthday Month, so Brygida (July 18th) and Bea (July 30th) are discounted all month. I'll also be discounting Night, Sig, and Ms. Morgan just cuz.

Wow, so it's been two months, when I originally just kind of planned for maybe two weeks. Things got kind of complicated, to be perfectly honest. I don't know exactly how much good the hiatus did. I had some more time to relax, but I still ended up straining my arm. Then I hit a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge depression around the midpoint of my break, right when I thought I was gonna' come back.
I'd like to thank everyone who supported me, gave me bone-throw commissions to keep myself afloat, sent gifts, did fanart, ect. I appreciate everything you guys have done.
I'll be posting artwork tomorrow, as I've been getting commissions done behind the scenes. Unfortunately, once that's done, I may have to duck straight back into hiatus :I Fray and I were recently exposed to COVID. I can't get tested until July 1st for a couple reasons, but Fray gets tested tomorrow and that's when we find out whether or not I'm gonna' have to take a couple more weeks of downtime.
We're stayin' positive over here. Hope you guys are all doing the same. Here's hoping I'm back in full working capacity soon. I'll try and keep you guys updated.

Posted 5 years agoActually, I'm feeling a bit better. I'm even working on commissions, albeit very slowly. BUT...I'm still not working at 100%. I'm kind of on a "half a day on, one and a half off" routine. Work's getting put out as it's progressed, up on Twitter and Patreon.

Howdy howdy. Hope everyone's doing well. For those of you who don't know, I've been on a hiatus for the past ~2 weeks (more information here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9472790/ ). Unfortunately, that hiatus might have to continue for at least a couple more weeks. I'm healing pretty slowly, and have a lot of trouble drawing linework. That being said, I cannot stop drawing altogether. My brain just doesn't really work that way. I get irritable and sad if I go too long without drawing at all. So, during my hiatus, I'll doodle something really quick if I've got some inspiration, or go back to flat-color some lines in the backlog (flats are pretty easy, since that's more clicks than strokes).
That being said, like...yeah, every time I post something I colored or shaded really quick, I get commissioners asking me for progress reports on their orders. It's kind of demoralizing, but I also can understand the frustration of seeing an artist post new work while they're supposed to be resting so they can go back to their commissions.
So, to alleviate both parties' stresses, I've saved up enough money to refund a good-sized chunk of my queue. If you're feeling even a little impatient, please don't hesitate to send me a note or DM asking for a refund. You'll be given your money within a week, you'll be quietly removed from the queue, and you'll be free to place an order again at a later date, with no hard feelings.
I kind of don't want a queue almost 30 names deep hanging over my head while I'm supposed to be taking things easy, so any requests for a refund will be honored. You won't be hurting me financially, and you won't be shamed publicly. I understand that these are tough times for everyone, so I won't hold it against anyone if they'd like to withdraw their order so that the money they spent on a luxury can be put towards more pressing matters.
