Thanks and Apologies
Posted 12 years agoHey Carnalites! Travis here and this is just a quick journal post to say two things.
First, I just want to keep saying thanks for all the love you guys are showing John and Carnal. I know he feels the same way and we really appreciate it.
Second, the whole Carnal crew just wants to say sorry that our presence isn't as consistent on Fur Affinity and we are going to try to rectify that. I take personal responsibility for that as I am the one who is more constant with our social media and sites.
Other then that I hope you guys are loving the images and that you're having a great day. Keep your hammer ready and remember: PREY FOR SURVIVAL!

Alas, this is not John but one of his co-authors for Carnal Book 2: Rise of the Bull, Travis Anderson. Though John and I are both busy writing and drawing furiously for Carnal we felt the communities John became a part of could use some more attention. To accomplish this I will be taking up more of a presence here on furaffinty as well as the other Carnal pages. DO NOT DESPAIR! John will still be posting art when he can and post when able.

WOAH!!! I can't believe the amount of positive comments from everyone, it's awesome and very much appreciated! I wouldn't be doing the story justice if I didn't tell how we got to where we are now.
The Carnal project has been a work in process for over a decade, maybe even closer to fifteen year at this point... It began with a nightmare I had where I dreamt I was looking up at an enormous grey rhino, covered in black striped war-paint and standing on his two legs. A group of ravenous hyenas were clawing all over him as he tightly held the severed head of a lion in his fist. This vision has followed me with every image, sketch and painting and it's something I've never been able to shake.
I started to work on the project religiously and in 2007 had the opportunity to participate in a contest through Imagine FX. A colleague and I submitted pieces of artwork along with some basic idea story lines and out of hundreds of applicants we were fortunate enough to win. That gave us the drive to keep pushing and create a full-blown graphic novel. The first story is called Carnal 1: Pride of the Lions and will be released digitally in June and in Hardcover in July.
