Hello!!! My birthday was on Sunday (22/9)! I was able to travel to Sydney with two of my friends to go to Oz Comic-con, which was on my birthday weekend! It was really great and I'm so happy I was able to go.

There were some... issues with getting to and from Sydney that may have resulted in me having meltdowns, but I'm not gonna go into that. Getting back home was... a lot. lol

Overall, the good very much outweighed the bad!!!

ANYWAY I'm gonna try to kick my own arse and open commissions proper. I could use the extra money lmao. I don't know when I'll be opening them... hopefully before the end of October, but we'll see!

So, Paypal has limited my account and I cannot find anything particular reason why apart from I'm a digital artist and therefore "high risk" lmao. Guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones.

Anyway, I'm looking for alternatives. I've made a Stripe account, though this is very business oriented. While taking commissions on a semi-regular basis could be considered a business of sorts, it's pretty overwhelming to use Stripe when I'm barely a business yet. I do like what it offers, though.

I've also been recommended Arty, which is Australian based and while it does take a bit more percentage of sales, it is specifically made with digital art in mind.

I do have a Patreon that hasn't been used. In order to get payments I'll need to use Payoneer instead of Paypal, so I'm looking into Payoneer.

I cannot use platforms such as Venmo or CashApp as they are not available in Australia.

If you have any other suggestions of payment platforms I can use, please let me know!

It's been a long time since I attempted to sell adopts (spoiler alert: they did not sell lol), but it's been a few years and I'd like to try again! I wanna redraw some old ones that didn't sell and make some new ones! I wanna try harder this time and just making random designs is pretty fun.

The last time I made a journal, my grandmother was living here temporarily. She went back home in March and seems to be doing better (albeit, still having trouble getting around).

I'm still tired, my hay fever is acting up in the middle of winter, my mental health is not too bad at the moment, but yeah I'm doing okay for now.

So far, I've managed to avoid getting covid and I'm booked to get a booster in early Feb.

The last few days have been Something. My grandmother is in the hospital at the moment. When she first brought in, she was doing alright. Next day, my mother comes home from work crying (and my mother never cries, so you Know something's very wrong). Said my grandmother wasn't doing well and they weren't sure she was going to survive the night. Next day, she ended up doing better and was brighter. Haven't really heard anything since, so I can only assume that things are still going okay.

So yeah. That's been on my mind. My grandmother lived with us when I was a kid and looked after me when my mother worked, so I'm pretty close to her. It sucks that we can't even visit her because of covid. So, I guess I'm just hoping that I'll be able to see her again.

My mental health in general is just very Up and Down. Right now, I'm doing alright, all things considered. I'm trying to do more work on my OCs and such.

I haven't made a journal since my last birthday, but HELLO YES IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! I have somehow managed to live 31 years. Wow!!!!
