I'm Nihil and I'm an animal lover, I go crazy about silly birds, I drink a lot of tea and make animal costumes for a living.
What languages do you speak?
Dutch, English. I can understand German a bit but I'm not confident to talk back!

16-22th of August, that is early arrival and late departure.

Posted 9 years agoKind of frustrated with this website a lot and might give Furrynetwork a try and maybe brush up my weasyl again.
I'm still most active on Twitter but that's more real-life and shitposting rather than my drawings.
Just like always: making fursuits keep me too occupied to draw much.
About that fursuit-making.., I am looking for a parttime job. Why?
1. income
I work as much as I can and I really don't earn much and it's frustrating. People come up and tell me 1k for a partial is too much money while you would need to earn around 2k a month to actually really make a living and I can't make two partials a month, if you catch my drift here.
2.physical health
Sitting all day, being bend over to draw and cut patterns, pc screen in front of me to keep myself not-bored while handcrafting items, being in a room without much sunlight, huffing gluefumes in the same room I sleep in, having to be chilly because the room needs the rooms open for ventilation due to the glue fumes and well there's probably more that makes this an unhealthy job as I'm doing it.
3. mental health
Being alone constantly makes you relive bad memories and arguments you have with people and let's say you depress yourself often with your own thoughts at some points, no people around that make you feel human, a lot of things about this job make me frustrated/tired and irritated and of course with every job in the world there are parts you dislike but it still feels like it needs to be mentioned.
I work so much I even often work weekends so I have to miss out on doing things with friends or actually meeting people so I can "go out" sometime, I'm freaking 21 and barely live like I'm young.
4.insecurities
Being a fursuit lover and maker in a critical fandom makes it difficult to post your work online sometimes. Yes I have imperfections in my work and sometimes they can't be fixed anymore or I would have to pretty much remake the whole thing and I would hate for people to gossip about it. Another insecurity is that I don't think I can have a full income too soon with this job and my parents need to see the progress so I could leave house someday. And something that needs to be thought of as well: I might not want to do this untill I die. I might want to do other jobs like normal people y'know? and with me only building on my fursuit-making skill I would be worthless in the normal world because that skill didn't teach me how to work in stores or help people so if I would apply for a job I would lack any skill they aquire and I would be forced to keep making suits OR be jobless, I don't want to be stuck on anything in my life.
So yeah! If I manage to get a parttime job I will finish the projects in my queue and maybe take on smaller projects but mostly focus on refurbing my work and making myself things, and maybe friends could commission me but I would do it in a slower-pace because it won't be my main income anymore!
What is going good in life then?
Since april I took dancefitness lessons that make me all inspired to live healthier, train my body more to my liking and to learn a skill called choreographed dancing :D
The dancelessons also inspired me to get more out of life, I'm not sure why. Just that not everything in my life has to be furry to be enjoyable.
And I'm glad that people are really into the fursuits I make, it feels good to know you're making things people want to have. I feel like I'm getting better and better at it.
Enough rambling! I think I just really needed to get this all off of my chest I guess!

Goals 2016

My past goals were:
1. Gain at least 200 watchers before 2016
I'm a stupid goose and didn't write down the amount of followers I had so...but I guess I didn't achieve this goal, I was too focussed on fursuits rather than art.
2. Make WeMightbite better known before september 2015
This kinda happened but this goal is formulated too vague again ^^'
3. Make two personal fursuits
Nope...I tried! But customers are more important to me than making suits for myself ;)
I did make one though! And I guess that's fair.
4. Graduate
I sure as hell did and am I ever so glad ^^
5. Attend Eurofurence 21
Yep! And I had the best week of my life <3
I still have Eurofurence related dreams and next month I'll register again for next EF.
So a little summary of this year.
I had internship for half a year at a gardening centre, I like it a lot but hated the getting out of bed so early and coming home way too late and only having 2 hours of the day for yourself and spending weekends to be with boyfriend, family or doing chores so it's a miracle I even finished a commission in that time...
After that I had a really hard time at school but I struggled myself through it with a lot of help from my mother.
Since July till now I'm making fursuits constantly. I feel sad I absolutely don't earn enough money to rent a place or buy a house but my parents understand I just need more time to get known and raise my prices. So as long as I keep myself on their good side they don't force me into looking for a horrible job. I might get a job on the side but nothing motivates me because everything is far away, out of my league or comfort zone or making sure I work weekends so I can't see my boyfriend anymore so yeah...
I had Furry weekend Holland and Eurofurence this year and met great people and feel like I have friends! I'm hoping to get more social next year. I think this year has been great for me :)
A lot of personal struggles accured but I prefer to look at the growth in a situation rather than the lacking of good things.
NEW GOALS EVERYBODY.
1. Make a personal fursuit.
2. Try to open up commissions for drawing at least four times.
3. Attend urban-fit lessons (I felt like I gained weight and I want to stay in shape).
4. Be more social! next to attending FWH, EFF and EF I want to attend at least 5 furry or friend-hang-outs/events.
5. Be precise! I already write down my money business but not my hours. So I'm going to buy a stop-watch and use it precisely when working at commissions and write down how many hours things take.
I think my goals are less vague than last time.
I covered fursuits, drawing, health, social and business for my goals, the five things I find pretty much most important as of late.

Posted 10 years agoWell, I'm making money by making fursuits as you can see on wemightbitecostumes and it's going fine! I don't get enough money to live on my own yet...this is due having to have a bigger name "out there" to ask better prices but I'll get there eventually.
If you are curious: I'll open for new commissions somewhere around March next year.
You've probably seen I try to fill my gallery more often! I forgot about it and...I want to weave it through my weekly activities again.
I took a few portrait commissions but I closed them now because I'm afraid most of my copics need refills and I kinda want to go higher in my prices (20 euro for a COPIC A4 drawing that takes me 3 hours to make and shipping costs are more expensive because of the heavy paper so I make 4,50 euro per hour without taking paper and copics in account so...yeah X] )
Once I've finished this batch I'll open up for something new again, maybe just portraits but in water colours or a smaller size paper. If you are looking for something specifique to commission just send me a message and we can figure it out because I'm pretty much always open. I work at art usually after dinner or when I don't feel like working at my costumes.
The last two weekends I had the opportunity to fursuit again after my last event (furrave) and right now I feel like not attending anything untill January again :)
I'm still happy with my fursuit although I would love to make a new head again because I have improved so much since it.

Posted 10 years agoWow, really wow I didn't have the to write this yesterday because I was super exhausted.
It started like this:
Public transportation fucked us all and I had a shit load of bags and my parents were in a hurry and blabla so my friend fuzzerfox asked if I'd like to drive with her and her boyfriend so fuck yeah I did!
Packed with three suits and personal stuff and a lot of art supplies in the car the journey started.
It didn't take that long. I bought some stuff in the supermarket nearby for dinner but wanted to register myself first.
I got there and saw a lot of familiar/semi/unfamiliar faces and my friend wolvinny and sithy whom I had never met irl before (fucking loved the teal hawk!). They were too busy to really talk to and I started to go to bring my stuff to my room which I shared with @tailsietails, Sambers and darkdibblez (the cuties). We had the "upstairs" bed which was cool because we had a nice way to hang out our fursuits after wearing them.
Oh and the art I made for the Loupine Lounge was BAM everywhere were I could see it so that made me happy <3
I was super nervous and didn't have a clue what to do and I tried to eat something but really couldn't. I tried to remain calm but internally I had no idea what I could do. SO I WORE MY NEW FURSUIT FOR THE FIRST TIME AND EVERYBODY LOVED IT! 8D It really broke the ice.
It didn't take too long though! I met up with people I already knew and met great people I only knew from Twitter AND complete strangers.
I got invited to play cards against humanity and found out I was good at it! (which is a bad thing). Then I went to bed and that shit was nice.
Woke up, early, hoping to be one of the first but NOPE FUCKING NOPE HAHA. Drew Sambers a birthday thing and we started to do a sketchbook trade, which was my first and fuck I'm hooked on it! I drew for ten people at the whole event :p
At some point it really got annoying when people just threw their sketchbooks at me without properly asking me to FREEART them.
All them art. I got so relaxed by drawing together with other people and browsing through other people's sketchbooks.
Oh and there was food, very neatly done! I didn't like everything because I'm goddamn picky but I tried to eat most of it and was never hungry. I HAD A RAKKETJE EVERYDAY I AM SUCH AN ALCOWHORE. No seriously, I lived mostly on tea <3

Another thing I love were the fursuit related-talks in the fursuit lounge, I got to see so many fursuits it really inspired me. And people judged my fursuits and actually were veeeeeery impressed and that gave me such an ego boost.
Without making this too long: I laughed my fucking ass of, suited around four times, people liked my newest suit, I drew so much and received a lot of art, LOTS OF HUGS <3, I felt so included and aaarghhhhh it was a dream.
Honestly, I hope school will make it doable for me to come next year because I'm hooked <3

The two pieces I have uploaded yesterday is one from a long time ago and one because I was feelin' frisky and happy because the first part of the school's project has been finally completed and it looks like I'll have a good grade ^^
Gotta go into the second school project, do Dutch, English, German and maths exams and then have another internship for 6 months and I'll be done with school competely :)

Posted 11 years agoI want to say that it's probably more than a month ago I've been active here...as in uploading. This is all because of internship. I'm having a hard time finding time to draw and actually scan it. When I've got a "work-weekend" I mostly work on fursuits because their deadlines are the most important.
I am really sorry and after the first week of july it'll all be over and I'll be kicking with art!
I try to keep drawing but finishing is hard because I want to make real pictures, as in: fancy backgrounds" 'n all that, which is NOT my thing but I want to improve so yeah...

Posted 11 years agoNext Monday I'm officially moving to a tiny farmersblackhole of a place with my parents. I don't like it because I need buses to get to a train station, I don't live close to my boyfriend anymore, and it's headed more north in the Netherlands instead of the middle where I really wanted to go actually...
I'm busy packing my stuff, my whole fursuit-attic is in boxes and bags now and I got to make another working space in the new house.
Good things are that we'll have a beautiful big garden, no neighbors and we're going to get some chicken! I love chicken, they're so derpy and funny.
...Anyway... I'm thinking of doing comic design in Zwolle for about a few year when I get my school diploma (I study something stupid: product presentation/styling/visual merchandise) so you might have noticed I've been experimenting quite a bit lately.
That brings me to my questions: What do you miss in my gallery? Like not saying "you should practice humans, still life, cars etc" but more like "You have too much happyness and cuteness in your gallery" or "Try using more kind of colours". Just browse and see what you'd like to see =]

What is your belief/religion if you believe in anything at all?
I believe that body and spirit are not completely connected and when you die your spirit rises up from your body and gets in some kind of "heaven", a place where you meet all the other spirits from people/animal you have known and loved who died. I don't want to get in detail about this and a few of you are probably rolling with their eyes but it really keeps me going, I seriously would be super depressed thinking about "your body dies: you are completely erased from earth" so please respect that.

2013 and 2014
Posted 12 years agoWell It's kind of late but here it's still the first of january so I think I can still write something for this new year!
I've had a very awesome year and it had a few downs, especially because of schoolstress but furthermore it was a great year.
In january 2013 I had my very first furwalk and loved everything about it. I suited more, made some fursuits, met a lot of furries, got into toony drawing and using a lot of different traditional media.
OH! and I started my own fursuit company that year! WeMightBite costumes.
This year was good <3
Next year I'm moving to another house with my parents, Im not sure whether to like that or not.
I...I can't go to Eurofurence because school has already started when EF is started ¬¬
Aaaand my goal is to finish about 5 fullsuits this year, but I'm kind of doubting I'll make the deadline =\
Oh and I really want to do well at school.
I hope all of you had a great year and I wish all of you the best for the next year!
For all of you who feel lonely: call a friend even when they won't expect it, visit your family, don't feel ashamed of being alone because it happens a lot lately.
