And then Life came by to remind me with a flick to the forehead that I wasn't. Two months ago, I had to cancel the internet and life insurance so that I could remain warm and fed this winter. My days since then are basically living at work with nothing but sleep for comfort until I can get back on track, financially. So for those of you who have been wondering, that's my situation.
Oh and my computer's power supply has died so that's been fun, too.

Oh, boy. Here we go.

The past few months, indeed this last year, have taught me something about myself - something I consider important.

I'm kind of a terrible person. Before I went to college, I didn't have many friends outside the internet. I still don't, but that's beside the point.

The point is, I've been hurting my friends on the internet through negligence. That is to say, I just plain don't really talk to them much anymore, if at all. Whenever I think about this, or look at this behavior, it hurts me as well, because I know what it's like to have someone you care about just...stop. Stop talking to you, stop hanging out with you, whatever.

About the internet friends thing. Now that I have friends in real life, ones in closer proximity than ~12-14 hours away by car, I've come to realize that the whole 'furry' thing isn't as important to me anymore. I won't deny that it's still a part of me, I just feel like I have more important things to deal with. Trying to manage two different 'lives' while keeping them separate may be beyond my ability.

I can think of a number of people that I regret not getting to know better, or not 'hang out' with more often. Those people I met on livestreams and such, I really did enjoy that. Even if I kind of acted like an idiot some of the time.

But there are at least two people now that stand out more than them. One of which I've already apologized to, just to realize I've done it all over again.

I want to say that I'm sorry I fell back into this, but do I deserve your forgiveness? Again?

In conclusion...I guess I could say I'm just...on an indefinite hiatus while I try to sort out my mess in the real world. I hope those I once called 'friend' understand that I would still like to consider you as such, if you're willing to deal with a fool like me.

Words can really only go so far, but...I am sorry to those that I've hurt this way. I don't believe there is an appropriate excuse.

Tomorrow. College. Yeah. Still need my CPR level A qualification~

So I've gone to my community college to reserve my seat for the cooking class I signed up for, paid half of my tuition and all the fees. Gonna learn to be a chef starting September third. I hope I survive. D:

That's right, it's a birthday journal. Mine is tomorrow, the 20th, and turning 24 is simultaneously weird and not weird. "But Niko," you might ask, "how is such a thing ever possible?" Magic, that is how. Magic. And science. MagiScience. It also sucks having an injured shoulder on your birthday, but letting it get me down is something I won't do. ...though not literally. For those of you that don't know already, for the past five months, I've been living in my new house...without the internet. As of two days ago, I have acquired an internet connection just to realize that my own PC is having trouble. Over the next two weeks or so, I'll be trying to get a technician to have a look at it, provided I can't figure it out myself. For now, I'll be limited to my Nintendo 3DS and its basic web browser. Feel free to leave me as many comments and notes as you like; I am frighteningly bored and I've missed all of my friends. I look forward to the day I completely return.

EDIT:

PC is up and running again thanks to the advice of a friend of mine. The issue is with the bottom RAM slot so I'll be running on half RAM for a while. Thank god that's sorted out.

OKAY. First, and FOREMOST...I'm not even as into TMNT as some people, but the shows and movies are part of my childhood nonetheless.
