So a few things happened over the last few days. Some talk about making "god-fur" characters for things and whatnot made me do some heavier diving into the histories surrounding my own heritage in Brazil, namely the rise of some spiritual religions that grew and shifted with the slave trade that occurred during the heavy presence of the Spanish, before the Portuguese had shifted to having control of what would be the country of Brazil. A lot of similarities came into play between the Afro-Brasiliero and the Afro-Cubano (my other half of the bloodline as it were) and the Yoruban diaspora of religion mixing with Catholicism would give birth to a huge cultural-religious practice that is still present in those regions today! (More so Cuba than Brazil but you get me)

Long story short, I've kinda gotten really into the delving into history and religion, and may be adding in a character I'm writing up based on the gatekeeper Oricha, Elegbá. A trickster in his own right among other things. Featured colors being red and black, and in a particularly interesting tidbit of facts about him - you must please him and gain his favor before he can open the way to the other orichas (spirit-gods) being able to come into the world, opening the "way" for those who seek the orichas.

So, I'm finally doing it. And I have to thank one particular friend for pushing me to get back into writing instead of just pussyfooting around it. It's 2020. A new year, new decade, new chapter for a lot of people. That being said, I STILL keep seeing the same shit from people, particularly one individual who shall remain nameless for the sake of me not putting a hole in my laptop. I just want to know what caused this kind of inherent hate in them? They are not a kind customer for art, and retaliate by getting angry after retracting an order, but suddenly wanting it back after its been sold to someone else? You burn bridges with people you've barely had any contact with and then get angry when they don't want to talk to you. You actively make threats, xenophobic, racist, and worse remarks about people on a regular basis and to top it all off if you don't like someone in particular, you even go off an make revenge porn with their characters and sonas in the worst possible way** Like this is just disgusting. Do you not have anything better to do? Do you not have the capacity for remorse to actually work towards fixing the shit you break, instead of just believing a simple "I'm sorry" is going to erase all the hurt you cause and try to cause DAILY to others? I just hope you find peace before its too late... Rant over thank you for listening xD

Personal History: I grew up in a small town, working to be the first in my family to go to law school. From a young age, I was exposed to boxing and I became fixated on the sport. Once I got into law school, I started training at a local gym, and then - against my family’s wishes - I started to shift from only studying law to focus more on fighting. My father, who was also big into the sport and was somewhat the reason for my initial exposure to the sport, was more supportive of the move. Tani grew up with her brother in a small town, and after her brother went off to study law, she got into computers. Incredibly competitive, and with a bit of a tomboy-ish attitude about her, she was inevitably going to be getting into the heated sibling rivalry with Nils. And when he took up boxing, she focused on other styles in her free time, namely Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, as well as a couple kickboxing lessons here and there. Same as with her brother - mom wasn’t a huge fan. But she could get over it. Tani was ‘working on self defense’ after all. And TOTALLY not engaging in underground fight clubs and foxy fights during her free time in the dead of night or anything!! Surprising thing about people. They never fail to amaze you. Some people are just moving about in the background, not really interested in becoming a central character. Others do, and affect you in ways you can't begin to imagine. Some are very friendly, latching on quickly and helping to guide you through any and all hurdles. Some of those become closer, into budding relationships that may last as short as a day, or as long as a lifetime. Other people may come in to stir up trouble. Some may just be in it for the prank, to get a reaction out of you. Others have true malice in their hearts, and want to put you down - either because they hate having had the same done unto them, or becauase they themselves cannot process the effects of their actions. Sometimes people clash, and you find yourself torn as to who you should throw your support behind, if at all.

People never cease to amaze me, a blank canvas ready to be filled either from their own actions or the actions of others. Even then, anything that fills that canvas would also in some way be their own actions, whether or not they allowed the others to drip even a droplet of paint onto it. People band together and share their experiences, weaving their life paintings into magnificent mosaics of society, depticting centuries of history.

ANd after all that, after millenia of adding to our own paintings, or own stories, there's still surprises to be had. Good or bad, one thing can be said for certain. People certainly are surprising...
