into wonderland part 1
Posted 5 years agoThis is why I gave up on that other story, rewrote the whole character and world.
It was a very sunny day when Luna met one of the weirdest people she’s ever seen. He was a tall, white-haired man with yellow-green eyes like a snake. She met him at her job when he came to visit the important person she was a maid for. She didn’t hear why he’d come, but according to the younger son of her boss, it had something to do with The call. The little dark-haired maid didn’t know much about the organization, but she assumed they were to do with some private school for the rich.
However, the representative they sent was still an oddball. The second time she saw him was when she was sweeping the patio that looked out onto a beautiful, colorful garden the lady of the house cherished. Luna wasn’t out there to care for the plants though, she was sweeping beneath the fancy glass table they had out there when someone walked out to join her,
“Are you Lilith?” The white-haired snake asked, and she nodded, “oh how interesting! This is going to seem very odd, but can I have some of your blood?” he was smiling and talking so nonchalantly, despite the creepy request, Luna, however, narrowed her green Peyes at him until he tried to make his ask less creepy, “I tested the children, and now I wish to see if you have any magical energy in your body.” he said, and while she didn’t relax a lot, she stopped giving him a dirty look and let him take some of her blood.
He then vanished with it, going off somewhere to test her. While he was doing that, the maid just cleaned, jumping when the man with greenish-yellow eyes returned with a big grin about ten minutes later.
“Good news Lilith! You’re going to come along with me to the headquarters of the organization.” he chirped,
“excuse me? Why?” she asked, the grinning man throwing his arm around her shoulders,
“because, my dear, you are brimming with magical power, and I’d like to try and recruit you into The Call.” he explained, dragging her away, “and don’t worry I already told the master of the house where you’re going.” he assured as they went, ignoring Luna’s complaints until they were halfway to his car, “Oh, that reminds me, do you have a sibling?” he asked, and the ebony-haired maid just stared at him until a second female voice spoke up,
“Bacchus! Introduce yourself” the girl ordered, making the snowy-haired man come to a realization,
“oh, how rude of me! I’m Bacchus Alderidge, you can call me Nys. I’m a representative of The Call organization.” he chirped, bowing to Luna.
The maid relaxed a bit after learning his name,
“so...I can call you ‘nice’?”
“well...no, Nys is short for Dionysus, another version of my name,” he explained with a big grin as Luna sat with the 13-year-old looking girl with copper hair in the car.
Along the way, Luna told Bacchus and the girl, Lucy, about her younger twin, Nico, who Bacchus was instantly adamant about picking up as well. So, pretty soon Luna, Nico, Lucy, and the weirdo with odd eyes were walking into a beautiful mega-mansion.
“So, why are me and Luna here?” Nico asked, just as confused as his older twin, but Bacchus didn’t answer, leaving Lucy to,
“You both have magical potential at least, probably some sort of power, so The Call wants to recruit you into our ranks,” she said, and the dark-haired man nodded,
“What do we get if we join? Money?” Nico asked, and Lucy nodded,
“at least, we’d also offer you a place to stay as well, money, adventure if you want that,” she said, though all Nico wanted was money,
“I’m in,” he assured, looking at his twin when she nudged him, “oh come on Luna, it’s a well-paying job with free housing!”
“We don’t know what they want us to do! Don’t just jump into it.” She argued, but her brother just rolled his own green eyes at her, meanwhile, Bacchus whirled on Luna,
“Are you called Luna? I thought your name was Lilith,” he said, his yellow-green eyes shining with intrigue as she explained,
“Uh, Luna’s just...a nickname. People started calling me it when I was younger because I liked the night time so much and the moon,” she explained, and Bacchus backed off
“Oh, what a boring backstory for a nickname” he sighed as he and Lucy led the twins through the mansion and to a fancy sunroom where tea was waiting for them.
Cautiously, Luna sat in one of the chairs with her brother nearby, Bacchus and Lucy sat down as well, the white-haired man stretching out on one of the love seats. They sat there for a bit, Lucy sipping a cup of tea while Luna and Nico just waited for an explanation of what they now have to do since Nico’s kind of signed them up for The Call.
“Uhhh are we supposed to do anything, or are we just accepted into the group?” Nico eventually asked, and Lucy snorted,
“No, it’s not that easy to join The Call. We have...an initiation process of sorts for you,” she explained, and instantly Luna was on edge. Her anxiety only skyrocketed when Bacchus spoke next,
“You’re gonna have to go into a pool of goo and you might drown, you might disappear, you might get a Guardian.” the odd man said with a nonchalant shrug, which made Lucy throw a decorative pillow at him.
“Don’t let him scare you, it’s not that dangerous.” the redhead assured, glaring at her companion as she sipped her tea again. For a long moment, the room was quiet, only really disturbed when Nico muttered an apology to his sister for not heeding her warning earlier. After another period, Bacchus graced the room with his voice,
“Can we get to drowning them in goo already? All this tense silence is boring,” he whined, getting another glare from the thirteen-year-old girl he worked with before she turned to Luna and Nico,
“Do you two still want to join The Call? It’s okay if you don’t,” The twins looked at one another, Luna thinking for a long moment before she tentatively nodded,
“The money would be nice,” Luna admitted, and her brother nodded in agreement, so Lucy stood up and nodded. After that, she led them off to a specific room. As they went, the ebony-haired maid felt a heavy sense of dread settle into the pit of her stomach, which increased when she saw the initiation room.

luna development part 2
Posted 5 years agoThe few days that followed Raspberry’s death were unbelievably painful for Luna. She had no clue what to do, if she had her powers still if she could bring him back, she didn’t have a clue on any answers for these questions, and no real way to try and answer most of them. Despite this though, she couldn’t just sit around and drive herself insane with the questions and fears that ate at her, so she’d set about trying to recreate her minion. If she could at least create a second one, he’d be able to help her with the other questions.
In fact, the minion creation process would answer a lot of her questions. The process required for the creator to sit in one spot and focus all of their magic into something, only if they had enough energy would the minion form, more so if the creator didn’t want to die during the three days it took to make one of the skeletal beings. It was all around a tiring, stressful process, even if you knew you had magical abilities. Hence why at the end of the last night of the process, Luna was damn near unconscious on the floor of her living room.
The house was dark and quiet, and her thoughts were focused on pleading her abilities to be enough, that will power and hope being the only thing keeping the small, ebony-haired girl up on shaky muscles.
She could feel the heat of her powers coursing through her veins, she got little comfort from it. Her body was shaking, her head was swimming, and her heart ached in the fear of completely losing her best friend, the little comfort feeling her power gave was as effective as a water gun on a wildfire. Maybe that’s why, just as the clock stroke midnight, her body gave out and she collapsed onto the carpet. Her will and determination drained in an instant and her body could no longer keep itself up with no food or water to act as fuel. She’d barely made it to the end of the time.
As she laid there, listening to the silence of her home and feeling her body quivering with hunger and dehydration, something pat her cheek and squeaked at her, and just before she dozed off, she saw a tiny skeletal creature looking at her with his eyes shut. Then, she passed out into a blessedly dreamless sleep.
Luna awoke to the feeling of her cheek being lightly smacked again, and when her fiery orange eyes opened, she saw a tiny little skeleton in front of her, his eyes shut and a look of concern on his face,
“are...you my minion?” she asked, her voice hoarse and somewhat choked with growing anxiety, pushing herself up with some effort into a sitting position before picking the tiny creature up for further inspection. He was small, about the size of her hand, his eyes never opened, but when she put a finger in front of his face and moved it from side to side he seemed able to see it regardless, he didn’t have any clothing on, that would form later, so he looked smaller than she was used to after all her time with Raspberry, looking up at her with a big, loving smile. “Raspberry?” she asked, her heart giving a small squeeze as she spoke and waited for confirmation or denial. The new minion looked nothing like her friend, but she had to hold onto some hope. Sadly, the hope was quickly squashed as the small skeleton made a face of disgust, not liking that name. No, not Raspberry. Raspberry was officially dead and she had to accept that.
The baby minion squealed and reached up to try and wiped the fresh tears that fell from Luna’s eyes at that reminder away, hugging her thumb when she didn’t let him touch her face. His little squeaks and questioning noises fell on deaf ears though, washed out by the waves of sorrow that reclaimed the dark-haired girl and raked her body with sobs.
Raspberry, Luna’s closest friend, her first Minion, was actually dead, she couldn’t remake him, couldn’t bring him back. Her attempt had assured her that she had power, that she was strong enough to make a Minion, but it hadn’t done the one thing she’d hoped and prayed it would.
The baby minion in her hand kept making noises at her, for example, shrieking when she just dropped him to curl into a ball and bawl her eyes out for a while. What did I do to deserve this?! Was losing my parents and nearly all of my family not enough?! She thought, her head beginning to throb from how dehydrated she was, not to mention she hadn’t eaten at all for three days and nights, but even knowing that she couldn’t help but cry until her body no longer produced tears to wet her cheeks. Then, and only then, did she shakily force herself to get to her feet and shuffle into her kitchen to eat the pack of crackers she had left on her counter before starting the minion-creating-process and then moved on to making herself a real meal when her body was a little less shaky.
All the while, the tiny skeleton followed her around, squeaking at her and trying to climb up her leg or the counter to be closer to eye level with her. It’d take a few weeks before whatever powers he had would come into effect, a day or so before he could talk, and a month before he would be fully grown, so for now Luna just had to deal with him trying to climb up her leg like a kitten and making squeaks and other noises. However, that wasn’t an issue for her, she didn’t mind the little noises a minion made when it was first made, nor did she really care when the little creature clung to her, neither of these things was why she refused to look down at the small creation she had gone through hell to create, it was the pain that seeing him brought. Sadly though, she knew she couldn’t get rid of him now, once a Minion was made, they were there forever, so she just promised to make an effort to adjust and befriend this one like she had Raspberry.
So, instead of ignoring and neglecting her new creature, she took a deep breath to try and fight back the pain in her chest and picked the baby Minion up with her food to sit at the table with him.
As she ate, they stared at one another, he never opened his eyes, but she knew he could see her, and she just looked at him in silence for a long while, finally speaking when the silence got uncomfortable,
“so, I guess I should find a name for you, huh?” she hummed, and the thing squeaked at her, which she took as a yes, “Alright, I’ll list a few off and you tell me which one you like, got it?” He nodded, so she started listing berry names, “Cherry? Cloudberry? Acai? Juniper berry? Grape?” The Minion liked none of the offered names, which made Luna huff. She didn’t want to name it something outside of a type of berry, it was something of a family tradition to name Minions after berries, her mom and dad did it, she didn’t want to change that, so she turned to google for more berry names. “Snowberry?” she offered, and the tiny skeleton trilled happily, which made her smile a bit, “okay then, your name is Snowberry,” she told him, and the little creature smiled at her. She smiled back, feeling a bit of her pain dissipate as she let the new Minion stand on his tiptoes to put his boney hands on her cheeks so he could keep her smile from falling and trilled again.
Though, he then huffed and wiped away the few tears that fell from her eyes. She pulled away to scrub at her eyes, not letting herself sob anymore. Come on, you’re being cruel, sobbing in front of the baby creature. She scolded herself while Snowberry squeaked and chirped at her, Mourn later, for now just bond with Snowberry. She ordered, but a small voice in her head asked how the hell she was supposed to grow attached to a new minion when she felt so angry at it for existing? She didn’t know, but she still bit back her tears. The conflicting feelings of annoyance and happiness towards the new creature would have to wait, for now, she had to keep it together for the baby Minion.
In fact, the minion creation process would answer a lot of her questions. Luna development part 1
Posted 5 years agoSo, this is just a little exploration of my OC Luna. It's kinda bad, but meh, I need to post something
Another dull day of nothing had come to an end. With a sigh, Luna climbed into bed, her minion, Raspberry, curling up like a cat at her feet,
“Maybe we can find something fun to go out and do tomorrow,” he offered, pulling his bunny-eared hood up to hide his face, but his creator just hummed, too tired to point out the fact that nothing they found interested her. Instead, she rolled over and let herself fall into a comfortable slumber.
It felt like she’d just dozed off, but suddenly she was standing. Maybe she was sleepwalking? However, when the ebony-haired woman opened her eyes she found not her small home, but some sort of courtroom. On either side of her were black-robed figures that were maybe humanoid, she couldn’t tell, but she knew another one was in front of her, acting as judge.
“Lilith Allerton, daughter of Nina Lancaster and Marshall Allerton,” he began, his voice a ghostly whisper that should’ve barely been audible at the distance he was from Luna, but she heard him perfectly, “you have been chosen for an operation.” he continued, his face hidden by a pocket of inky darkness in his hood,
“A-an operation?” the girl finally asked after a moment of confused silence, her heart squeezing as her voice wavered with thick fear, “S-Your honor, I don’t understand, what operation? Why was I chosen?!” she questioned, stepping forward with wide eyes, but the figures at her sides put their hands on her shoulders to stop her from approaching the judge,
“You have been chosen because the power in your soul has been deemed a danger to the world and yourself. We will need to extract it and destroy it.” the judge said, his voice emotionless, neither cruel nor kind as he spoke so quietly and so easily sent Luna’s heart into her feet.
“W-what?! No! You can’t!” she cried, tears welling in her eyes while her stomach became a pit of angry vipers writing around angrily, but her complaints fell on deaf ears. With the wave of a hand, the judge had her grabbed more firmly, now unable to go backward or forwards, more cloaked, unidentifiable figures manifesting to hold the now squirming girl down with ease.
Luna’s panic grew as she fought, unable to get free of their iron-like grips or reason with the creatures who held her down with no sign of emotion.
“No! Please, you can’t do this!” She plead, tears falling freely from her fiery eyes now, “You can’t take my powers, they’re all I have left!” The judge then appeared before her.
Even though he was so close, she still couldn’t see anything but a dark void in his hood, he didn’t seem to have a face, which worsened her anxiety just like his bone-y white hand reached out for her did. “I’m begging you, don’t take my powers! I have nothing else to tie me to my parents! Please!” she cried, feeling her chest begin to burn with fire so painful that it felt like her bones were splintering inside of her body, maybe because of the heat, maybe because of how she pulled and kicked to be free.
Her tears evaporated from the heat of it, cruelly allowing her to perfectly see the tendril of black, pulsating energy that was drawn from her sternum like a snake emerging from a basket to the melody of a flute. She watched as the energy gathered in the skeletal palm of the faceless judge, taking the excruciating heat and primal terror she felt coursing through her blood with it. Then, all too quickly, her body went cold. The eerily glowing mass of lashing shadow that was her powers sat in the judge’s hand, squirming and writhing like a pained animal until he closed his fingers around it and Luna watched it turn on itself, the energy tearing itself to nothing in seconds.
“Your power could not sustain itself outside of your body, how sad. Your mother only left you with a parasite.” he said, his whisper of a voice unwaveringly ambivalent as Luna’s head swam with upset, pain, and confusion until, at last, she blacked out.
Then, she awoke back in her room. After a panicked look around, it was confirmed, the whole experience was nothing but a bad dream. With a sigh, Luna ran a hand through her matted black hair,
“Raspberry, are you there?” she called out to the silent home, but her minion didn’t respond. She crawled to the foot of her bed, where he usually laid and looked over the edge, but he hadn’t rolled onto the floor, but there wasn’t any sign of him getting up either. She sat back, swallowing down the knot of dread that was growing with each passing moment of silence, “R-raspberry?” she called again, clenching her hands in her covers as she strained to hear any noise, but none came. She had to take a few breaths after that, to try and calm the painful squeeze of her heart, it’s fine, he’s probably out shopping. She told herself, but it did little to quell the fear in her gut. The fear only grew as her orange-yellow eyes finally noticed the thin coat of dust on her palms, then the pile of ashy dust at the foot of her bed. “Raspberry! Show yourself, that’s an order!” She yelled, her voice hoarse from the panic that strangled her. It’s grip tightened, however, because her Minion didn’t appear.
No matter how many times she ordered him to, Raspberry stayed gone. But she still tried, she cried for her friend, begged for him to appear, she plead for herself to wake up from this nightmare until her voice finally gave out and she was left quietly sobbing, fully awake, and alone.

But she still tried, she cried for her friend, begged for him to appear, she plead for herself to wake up from this nightmare until her voice finally gave out and she was left quietly sobbing, fully awake, and alone.
gonna take a break!
Posted 5 years agoIt's just a small one, but I need some time to recharge and get through this depression. Things've just been rough with my bills not getting paid and things being kept on solely because they can't legally shut them off. I need some time to get through it and relax again, but I will be back! It'll just be a few days so that I can stop feeling like shit maybe.

Ventilation/explanation/update
Posted 6 years agoI honestly am so tired today. Today was a struggle to wake up and not go back to sleep to avoid the crushing amount of dread and a sense of failure I have. Now, this isn't new, I've had a few days where I've woken up feeling like a failure and wanting to just sleep all day, that's why I haven't done a lot of finished art lately. But, today was worse. I woke up and I honestly wondered why I let myself live past my high school graduation to be a burden upon my family.
As you notice, I'm trying to sell commissions, adoptables, anything really to make money, and that is because I honestly do not have a job. You can comment about how lazy I am, how I need to quit being a failure and actually start being an adult, how I need to grow up and whatever, but know that I'm already aware of that. I'm not here to be helped, I'm here because I need to keep you updated and I just need to vent. This journal may be taken down soon, but for now, it acts as an in-depth explanation as to why I haven't been putting my best out.
I am simply so tired with life, so tired of trying to draw and having it look like trash, tired of knowing how much of a disappointment I am to my mother, I'm exhausted from failing to sell the only thing I'm good at, I'm tired of skipping meals, worrying about how the wifi is going to be shut off and I won't even be able to help in what meaningless way I can. These past few days I've woken up with such reluctance, with the thought of being a failure, and the reminder that my mom is going to die and I'll be forced to live on being toxicly co-dependant, unable to drive, live on my own or pull my weight in any proper way, and I'm getting sick of it. It feels like every day I take one step closer to taking my own life.
I'm tired of fighting this, so today I'm going to let myself wallow and cry, and maybe tomoow I can bare to sketch. Thanks for reading, sorry that I had a breakdown in this journal, I appreciate all of the page visits.

Sorry for the vanishing
Posted 6 years agoSorry for vanishing for a few days, my wifi got shut off. Art should be back on schedule either tomorrow or the next day, but I must insist that interest be taken in my adoptables or commissions, as being paid will help me keep my wifi on and the art posting. Thank you all!
