ConFuzzled 2019 RECAP
Posted 6 years agoDAAANNNNNNNNNGGGGGG what a weekend.
I've been looking forward to this con all year, and it did not disappoint!
There were a few hiccups, but that was nothing to do with the con or hotel; mostly to do with me and just unexplained stuff.
We'll get the bad out of the way with first!
- I had some really bad sleep. No one was being too noisy (although I could hear the dances at night, but they weren't too loud!). But the main issue with sleep came from
- Abdominal pain. So this probably stemmed from the stress and excitement of getting to the con, made worse by drinking and dancing in suit. I also think I bent weird and the
belt holding my tail pressed into a sensitive spot or something. This was probably the only real issue I had at the con, because it made a lot of things harder to enjoy.
- This is a small gripe from a small dog but it did annoy me on the day; I got in line for the pre-parade photo so I could be near the front and be seen, since I'm only 5ft. Not long after I got a nice spot, this 6ft fursuiter pushed his way into where I was standing and practically took my entire place. I'm pretty sure I'll still be seen in the photo but that was a really dickish thing to do. Especially if you haven't been waiting as long as some of the shorter fursuiters have, just so they can have a chance of being in the photo.
BUT OTHER THAN THAT
I've made so many new friends this year, I'm a pretty quiet person and I like having my moments alone. But this year I really tried to talk to more people and it really worked out in my favour! Met some people who are local to me, some not so local. In all honestly this con might make me go back to the Manchester Furmeets, I haven't been in Years.
I bought so... many.... goodies from the dealer's den. I wanted to buy even more! I was so spoiled for choice. I saved a bunch of change I got throughout the year because I knew dealers would need coins, a lot of dealers were really happy about that!
And Nobu went down a treat! I fursuited so much more than last year and it was a great time. A lot of people loved him and I'm so happy that I've made people smile by being a tiny dog.
I'm absolutely going next year, gonna try and get a room at the Hilton again, since I managed to snag one this year! I'd also like to try my hand at the dealer's den!I'M ALIVE.....................

IT'S BEEN LIKE.... 4 YEARS
Not that I've not been on FA in those 4 years. But like, remember when everyone had to do some weird shit to get back into their accounts a few years ago? Yeah I kinda forgot to do it then couldn't be arsed.
Have I been fursuiting in those 4 years? Yes and no
I kinda stopped going to local meets just because uni was kicking my ass at the time and now I'm working most weekends. I've fursuited at various things and even started going to cons! I'm at CFz this year!
My mental illnesses also fucked me up a few times so uh... dressing up like a pup wasn't a priority at the time.
But I'm wanting to post more on this account now!

Dos and Don'ts (Panic and Mirgraines)
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
Please be aware that I have a panic disorder, I may begin to act weird and then leave to go and calm down! I wear a special con badge ( lines by yoka_neko ) that has all information you will need to know about my panic attacks and migraines. In extreme circumstances, I may have to publicly remove my fursuit head/hands. This is for my safety and yours!
When having a panic attack or migraine
DO:
- Take me back to the fursuit lounge / my room / somewhere relevantly quiet and empty
- Talk to me calmly
- Leave me be if I ask you to
- Guide me /let me lean on you
- Pass me / get me items such as water or panic/migraine remedies (I carry a few, they may be stored in my suitcase) if I am shaking too much to do it myself
DO NOT:
- Touch me unless told to (I may hurt you! I often lash out in fear if people grab me when I am having a panic attack)
- Get too close
- Make me continue to wear my head if I am in public, I will hold out as much as I can but if I must do it then my safety and the safety of those around me must come first! Health > the magic, I'm afraid.
