Remember Flatopia and the other old yahoo groups?
General | Posted 4 years agoWhat I did is I made a discord group that's sorta inspired by it.
It's a group that focuses on findings and screencaps in media. Scenes from cartoons, films, or commercials, or things you can do in video games.
Stuff like flattening, inflation, wildtakes, and basically anything cartoony
It's still pretty new though so there is not a lot yet
It should also be pointed out that it's not an art group. It's purely just for links to videos, comics, or screencaps, and things like that where fun stuff happens
So yeah, if there's been some old shows that you remember seeing as a kid, that got you into this kinda stuff, I guess you could share it here

Lets try out taking suggestions again
General | Posted 4 years agoSince I try to focus a bit more on sketching I thought I could try out taking suggestions again
Give me a character, and tell me what you'd like to see done to them, and if I like the idea, I'll draw a sketch of it
Though I only do things I enjoy drawing, so there's quite a few limits.
No idea if there would even be anyone interested in that, with all those limits though lol.
Characters:
No OC's
Preferably non-human (anthos, feral, robots, living things, etc...)
Preferably females
Character should be an adult in the media they're from, or undefined (like pokemon)
With all those limits there's probably not a ton of options.
But that's pretty much the kind of problem I usually run into. Which is why I take suggestions ha
Things I like:
Flattening, squishing of any kind, cramming in/through small spaces, compressing into shapes, stretching, twisting, inflation (isn't easy to draw though)
Basically, what I like is the physical deformation of a character by external or internal forces
There's other things I like too that tie into it, but they're not as important. Those things are such as bondage, humiliation, size difference, etc
It's possible to suggest things that aren't listed here, but it's unlikely I'll pick them.
Though, it could be that I forgot a thing or two

It's been a while since I've had my last proper journal
General | Posted 4 years agoI guess I don't really have much to talk about, which is probably more of a good thing...
Anyway
I feel like I'm drawing myself into a dead end in a way. I'm mostly improving on skills that require knowledge and experience, like coloring and shading, but not so much skills that require practice, or motor skills, like anatomy(I still can't do hands well lol), expressions, poses, or just plain drawing speed.
As a result I keep getting slower as I get better. And my shading is now limited by the lack of sketching and anatomy skills
It's reached a point where my rather shortlived motivation doesn't last long enough to finish something lol
So I think I wanna focus a bit more on sketches over fully colored drawings. Stuff like comics, or something where there's more going on than in just a single picture.
Besides, there's only so many ways you can squash someone in a single pic without repeating yourself.
I think I wanna also get better on lower quality coloring just to speed things up. Like, simpler shading, or less precise lines, while avoiding that it looks unfinished. No idea how to do that though...
I also wanna focus more on using my own characters over fanart type stuff.
It's a difficult habit to break because it's just a lot more fun drawing already established characters over my own.
Additionally, nowadays, with drawing of characters from cartoons/games it keeps getting more and more difficult to pick a character that is okay to draw
So yeah, that
That journal is mostly there to remind myself about my plans, because I tend to forget about them and fall back into my old habits again lol
Before I start there's still two pics I had started that I wanna finish first in my usual way though

General | Posted 10 years agoSo, I've picked the commission I'll do
General | Posted 10 years agoIf you didn't get any reply, or note or anything, it probably wasn't you =P
Maybe next time I should probably just make a list of my preferences.
As if people look into my gallery, they'd assume I do only ponies. In fact, ponies are not even a bonus anymore nowadays D:
As long as the characters are cute or attractive, I like them
Maybe I'll do some more later on

Commission test
General | Posted 10 years agoI kinda wanted to try out commissions again.
But I'm always losing my motivation quickly when drawing things for others.
So I thought I make it so that people tell me what they'd like to see, and I'm going to pick out the idea I like the most. Still as a commission though.
The prices would be 15$ for a cleaned-ish sketch,
30$ for outlines with/without flat color if you like(flat colors are just a matter of using the bucket tool. The most work is the lining),
and 40$ if you also like shading.
An additional character costs 5$, 10$, and 15$ respectively. But it really depends. If there is only a small part of the character visible, like just an arm, or a face, I might charge nothing.
For now I will not do more than a single picture. No comics. Two characters at most. And backgrounds will be kept simple.
Or rather, I won't charge for backgrounds, and their complexity depends on how I feel like. As I'm mostly learning how to do nice backgrounds.
So yeah, again, if you are interested into a commission, post a comment here or send me a note. I'm NOT going on a first-come-first-serve basis. I will wait until there's a few commission requests, and I'm going to pick the idea I feel the most like doing. It'll still be a commission though!
You can roughly estimate what things I like the most by looking at my gallery, or just by knowing me for years =P
If Im closed to commissions, or I didn't accept yours, fret not, as you can always try other artists.
Inkwell is also really good at drawing anything squishy as well as other toony kinks.

He charges $30 per hour.

Eventual commissions?
General | Posted 10 years agoI am contemplating taking on commissions. Would people be interested?
The pricing is not definite, but I plan on charging the following:
$15 sketch
$30 lines/colour
$40 lines + colour shading
I will most likely charge extra for detailed backgrounds or multiple characters
and start off with only one commission slot due to time
What kinds of things would you ask for?
