Update: Noise Comp
Posted 9 years agoOk, so we can go ahead and move forward with this plan. We would of course want to spread the word about the comp and try to include as many furry noise projects as possible. We're not going to nitpick about what counts as "noise" but please make sure that your comp track has at least some noise elements. It shouldn't be a very long track, as we want to showcase as many furry noise artists as possible on one release. As a rule of thumb, no tracks longer than 5 minutes will be accepted, however abridged or shortened versions of a track are acceptable, and can be notated as such on the track listing.
I suppose the next step is deciding what we want to call the comp, so suggest some names down in the comments. We'll also be taking submissions for artwork to be featured on the album inserts, just note that stuff to the noisefurs acct. Thanks y'all. Don't forget to spread the word about the comp so we can get as many noise furs on this as possible.
Edit: I'll try to answer any questions regarding the comp as best as I can from this journal.
We will decide on a deadline once we have all of the artists gathered for the comp, that way everyone will get an equal amount of time to submit their track. Noise Comp
Posted 9 years agoIf we were to corroborate a furry noise comp who would be interested in contributing? I would want to make the comp available on CD-R and cassette and available for purchase through discogs or something. Your ideas?
Discussion: What's Offensive?
Posted 10 years agoSome people are really sensitive and want to tell artists what they can and can't cover subject-wise in their themes/lyrics. They see their local experimental/diy scene as their personal safe-space and for some reason feel the need to police it now. Does freedom from exposure to things that might offend really constitute a safer creative environment? Discuss.

We're still not allowed to upload "noisy or overdriven" sound content to FA per the TOS, but we still have to suffer cricket wireless ads in spanish plastered across the top of the website.

Posted 12 years agoNot sure if it's still against the TOS to post "overdriven or noisy content" but let's keep the group safe and just say that it isn't and keep linking to noise on sources outside of FA. However it seems that the group has grown a little tiny bit with a little bit of neglect.
Same shit still applies, if you have tracks you would like featured in future updates, or if you have an FA page devoted to your noise, we'd be happy to link your page on the profile. Also, might get a new moderator of this page since it's obvious that I don't update it all the time.
Fuck music.
