9___9 I love how FA went with a new MLP banner. Have you all not realized folks around here love to use controversy in a lot of things? That banner gets attention and, I'll admit, the shit's cute.

On one hand you have people goin' "a children's show for a banner on a furry site?!" Have you forgotten MOST if not ALL of you found your way here or your interest in furry due to the influence of a children's cartoon? "MLP is stupid and is for little girls blah blah blah" Most cartoons we enjoy are meant for children and young teens not GROWN ASS MEN AND WOMEN WHO WATCH AND ENJOY it anyway.

Why can the banner not be "all in good fun?". It just bothers me how someone can be so quick to judge somethin' and cast it in to the pits of hell without even watchin' it OR talk down to anyone who enjoys somethin' they don't like. Hasn't anyone noticed what most people who are not furries say about us at conventions and various shit like that. ESpecially the ones who are aware of some of the fetishes and things that happen in fursuits sometimes. They have no plans to try it cause it seems gross and freaky or what-the-hell-ever else they think. And yet we'd just love for them to give it a go and "don't knock it until you try it". Seems to me like a lot of people are ashamed to be apart of this fandom. That's not bein' a "fan" of anything and especially not positively involved.

I find it mildly amusing the amount of fan art I see where the artist will draw characters from any given series and be all "This is how they should be" or somethin' like that. It's like...you redesign all the characters and basically end up hatin' on the way they look now. Take Star Fox for instance. I can understand why some die-hard fans dislike the newer games. Wanna go back to pure ship fighting and all of that stuff. Personally I like the mix between the two. They are actual characters outside of the Arwings so it's nice to see that. That's why StarFox Assault is one of my favorite games.

That said, does no one think of the person who redesigns these characters for new games? I like the new designs for them. Hell, I'm also one of those people that really dig reboots of beloved series whether it's a video game like Tomb Raider or DMC or the Spider-Man movies. I like to see new directions. Is it just that people can't stand change? It's like most don't even give things a chance and say they are gonna suck or look awful right off the bat just because it's different from what they're used to. Yes, it's their opinion, I understand that. But a lot of these games and shows that get redesigns aren't redone by the original creators but by -fans- of that series who find themselves in a position to make their dream a reality. If you don't like the way somethin' is then do somethin' about it. It's not enough to draw your favorite characters the way you think they should be as opposed to the way they are now and rag on the new look. If you don't like the new look, work hard to put yourself in a position to change things around and get your idea out there.

I dunno just somethin' that bothers me a little bit when I see fan art. Especially on a site like this. "I don't like such and such show's new 'cartoony' or 'anime-ish' look" when you know damned well most of us found our way to the furry fandom through some cartoon series or another. It's nice to have a variety of looks for somethin' whether it's cartoony or "gritty (ugh...so brown and dull)". It's just so great how artists look down on so many other art styles like they're utter shit.

Typin' this from my dad's laptop, btw.

Okay so a couple days ago by iPhone stopped showin' up on my computer so I could sync it and I couldn't find out what the problem was. I tried reinstalling and updating the drivers for it, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, the whole shebang. Well, I was able to connect it on my dad's laptop and I ended up resetting it to factory settings thinkin' that would do somethin'. Now, stupid me, I didn't back it up on there so I lost all my contacts and all that good phone related stuff as well as my music. I didn't worry about it much cause I had a backup on my own computer. I didn't want to back it up on my dad's laptop cause it's not mine and I didn't want to do too much on it. Anyway, I was able to put it back on my computer and found the driver I needed as soon as I wiped the damn thing needlessly. But now I couldn't get it to update and load the backup files for my iPhone at all. It always failed. So I tried reinstalling and updating those drivers. It always showed up as an MTP USB Device or somethin' like that. Well I uninstalled it so Windows could find the proper driver again as well as reinstalling iTunes. I restarted my computer with the intent of a fresh start to see if my iPhone would work properly again. Guess what? Things got worse. Now all of my Network Adapter drivers either can't be found or appear to be corrupted so I can't connect to the internet on my laptop. The sound, video, and game controller drivers tell the same story as well as all of the USB controller drivers. So I can't get online on my computer to replace the drivers, I can't use my USB external hard drive to back up anything if I wanted to do a complete system wipe and Windows reinstall, nor can I even listen to anything at all what with the sound messed up due to the driver errors. Yet whenever I try to check for updates it says the drivers are up to date.

I really don't know what to do anymore. I checked countless websites about it and tried solutions and nothin' has worked so far. Have I mentioned that System Restore also doesn't work? Not only can I not find any previous restore points from a few days ago but whenever I try to restore it, I always get an error message sayin' that the system restore did not complete successfully because it could not access the specified file or somethin' like that. I don't get it. Also, I did try system restore from the boot menu in safe mode and everything. Still nothin'. I'm losin' my mind and I could really use some assistance here. Can't afford to get a new computer if this one is basically bricked. I'm goin' to try and get the major drivers and save them to a disc and see if I can reinstall them on my computer but things are lookin' pretty grim right now.

EDIT System restore fails because it fails to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point, whatever that means.

EDIT TWO After tryin' everythin' I could includin' installin' different drivers and all that stuff you find with gratuitous Google searchin', I called Toshiba to see what they could do to help me as a last ditch effort. Told me exactly what I didn't wanna hear. Had to do a complete system restore all the way back to factory settin's. I saved most of what was important so now I'll be workin' on restorin' that but yeah. Ugh. All gone. At least it works now, though, so that's good :3 Thanks to those of you who tried to help me out.

My gosh the MLP craze is huge and the haters are even bigger. They complain, bitch, and moan about how everyone's drawin' pony shit and how it's all over their e621 and all that bullshit. Like they can't click on somethin' else or look at another page. What's more, they -refuse- to watch the show because it's MLP and call it shit though they've never seen it to know how good it actually is. The hype is ridiculous, I'll admit, but you shouldn't hate the show. Hate the craze about it if you have to hate somethin' cause the show is pretty damn good, I must say. Just well done all around, really.

If it's not your thing, fine. But there's really no need to be rude and hateful about it. I've seen people talkin' about removin' watches and everything just because someone's into the show. I mean...there are art fads all the damn time. I, brace yourself, have never played any Team Fortress games, nor do I really plan to. And yet, every so often, I have to sift through sooooooo much fanart and PORN of TF shit because it's just so good and fun and blah blah blah. It's the same thing, really. I don't care to know about TF, honestly, but I deal like everyone else. And guess what? It blows over, people. And it goes on for months, each time. So many artists around here bitch and moan about porn this pr0n that in regards to its popularity value and, worse, that porn/smut isn't "true" art or whatever. This opinion I find, of course, rather asinine. BUT I respect an artist's decision not to draw adult themed art for whatever reason. Sometimes they just don't want to draw art like that and it's fine. Others seem to have some sort of vendetta against it and always post some disclaimer about how they don't draw/like porn/adult art or whatever and make sure we know about their distaste for nudity and sexual situations. It just...kinda grates on my nerves after a while, ya know? I mean, they say it's not art or whatever the fuck they wanna but...honestly porn gives me trouble to draw. I personally find the shit to be kind of hard to draw whether it's classy/erotic/smutty or not. Work goes into all of this stuff so I don't think it's fair to downplay anything just because you're jealous or feel under-appreciated. I mean, shit, sometimes I wonder how many artists drop by my page because they saw someone fave some of my non-adult work or remember be from somewhere else and drop in only to see a few of my more recent adult pics and go the other way or think differently of me or somethin' like that. Everyone gets horny and looks at smut now and then. Don't try to lie to me and say you don't because I won't believe it for a second. Sometimes I'm in the mood to draw somethin' like that whether it's for/of my boyfriend and me or not.

I draw it sometimes and that's because I feel like it. I couldn't give a damn about popularity and I'll tell you what...I was plenty popular/well-known on DA and any other sites I used as well as here early on when I didn't draw it at all so I really don't find the porn = popularity a valid point to hate it. Sure, drawin' sexually themed pictures leads to more people findin' your work on this site but that's because sex sells and everyone knows it. What was that sayin'..If ya can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch? Basically, you need to bust your ass and work at your art to be good and get noticed. You don't -have- to draw porn to be noticed. There are plenty of artists, even on this site, that are well known and don't have a speck of pornography in their gallery. You don't even have to do a bunch of fanart either. All you have to do is establish and distinguish yourself.

That being said, I do enjoy when I watch someone who previously chose not to draw it decide to draw somethin' along those lines here and there because they want to. No longer governed by the thoughts of those who really don't matter. Like breakin' outta their shell or somethin' ya know? It seems like some artists are afraid to go there because they think they'll be lumped in and accused of pandering or somethin' stupid like that. And they're probably right. That's one of the things that's fucked up about art communities. They are leavin' less and less room to be an artist and express yourself. I would also think the point of these sites is to find other individuals who can appreciate what you do and offer helpful and constructive opinions/criticisms on it. Granted, some sites have rules against certain things and others do not...yet the members of those communities are content to bash and ostracize those who are well within the rules of the site and are only posting what they enjoy very much the same as everyone else.

What's wrong with this picture, ladies and gents?

As of a few minutes ago, I'm 22 <3 Gettin' on up there

I never really have anythin' planned for my birthday. Gonna go see Thor Friday, though. That's a must. And I don't plan on grabbin' a 3DS until a few more games come out next month. At least I don't have an assload of schoolwork to do this time around :3

So some of you may have heard what happened last night in Northern Alabama and some surrounding areas. The power was knocked out for 5-7 days and it was bad enough that they pretty much evacuated my school so I'm back at home for a while, now. I didn't think I was gonna make it for a while there. There weren't even any gas stations in operation from Huntsville down to Birmingham with one or two exceptions with lines that extended into the next town over, damn near. Complete blackout, ya know? And last I heard the death toll for this was upwards of 290 with hundreds more possibly injured and even homeless.

If ya know someone in the affected areas (and even if ya don't and can do somethin'), then offer any support you can be it donations, a place to stay for a while or even just prayers.
