Best Day Ever

After experiencing heart-breaking rejection by graduate schools twice, I finally got accepted in. I get to join a program to get a career that I'm extremely passionate about. This is the best day ever.

South Park Season 20
Posted 8 years agoI just finished the latest season of South Park and I have to say that I wasn't too impressed. I thought that the serialization of South Park might be a good thing, considering how well it worked for last season, but I just don't think it works well anymore. South Park is one of the few shows that can do contemporary issues rather well (something that a show like Futurama often failed at) and it showed with the last season. But the member berries, the trolling, and the 'women are smart and totally funny' bit just seemed hammered in way too often; Trey Parker and Matt Stone really beat those horses until they were dead and then kept beating them afterwards.
Erato - Inspiration Strikes At The Wrong Time
Posted 9 years agoErato is the closest muse, I'd say, to what I write. If not her, then Calliope. What is it about her that causes her to strike when you're busy with something else? Here I am at work, tired and ornery, when inspiration strikes. And boy, does she strike. I come up with some beautiful wording for a great short femdom story. Evocative. Emotionally intense. It gets my heart pumping at the thought of it! Alas, I have to mess around with fish all day (I know, ha ha. A cat that works with fish.) and I might just lose the perfect wording. I still have the idea, of course, but I need the words in their exact order! If it's lost to me, anything I type up when I get home will be inferior to this, I know.
But I met this muse's challenge and repeated the several paragraphs of wording in my head for several hours straight, which was maddening and made working difficult considering that it was, well, rather hot. But as soon as I'm on break, I get out my pencil and grab some paper and I write this down, not even caring that I'm technically writing porn in the workplace. I refused to let this be lost! I beat you, Erato, and now I have captured the wonderfully refined sadism of my feminine dom! You thought you could best me, but you didn't! At least not this time!
And that's the story of how I wrote porn at work.

FFIX Steam
Posted 9 years agoSo, I've been playing the recent FFIX port to Steam and I have to say, as a longtime 9 fan, the port is pretty impressive compared to Square's earlier efforts. The new models are crisp and clear. The backgrounds are prettier. So are the movie scenes. Even the menus feel as though they've properly taken into account that this game is now a PC game and not a mobile or PS game.
It's by no means perfect. There's this annoying thing where your cursor moves automatically to the middle of the screen when you move and the game is better off played with a controller (so, thankfully, I have the Dualshock 4 and the handy-dandy DS4Windows), but overall, the game's an example of a decent port handled much better than others (like FFVI) that I've been waiting for years now and I'm having fun with.
I even got 100 nobles impressed! Previous record was 99. That damn last noble finally won over years later. I could probably die in peace now.
I recommend the game!

Nikki's Story
Posted 10 years agoFirst, you might notice that I have many different versions of Nikki. Ice Queen Nikki? Genie Nikki? Who is even the real Nikki? You'll also notice that I just plain have many characters, all with their own stories and all almost interwoven with each other. For example, you'll probably notice that I have a few characters in my gallery who embody certain concepts - and they each have their own little stories in the wider universe I'm creating, which I will not detail very much. War. Luck. Lust (Rayll). Time. You'll see a new lady here soon within the coming weeks: Light. I can tell you, she's one hot lady. Literally.
And yet the entire story hinges on the adventure of one seemingly insignificant mimi; one little mortal boy whose life is suddenly torn apart in the most violent of ways and he's tossed into the unforgiving, dark underbelly of the world that most people are unaware of and those who are just wish that they could forget about it. But it's too late now, Nikki. You've fallen into the hole and there's no dragging yourself out of this pit.
Born to a prominent political Greek-Jewish family with roots dating at least to the very early days of Ottoman, big things were naturally expected of the young catboy. Tutored by some of the best and trained to be a politician like the rest of the family, Nikki showed great aptitude for silver-tongued schemes. At the age of thirteen, however, his father, Callum, died under mysterious circumstances. Nikki's mother, Alyss, became stricken with grief and an inexplicable fear, as though she too were afraid for her life.
Alyss took her child and moved to a different country. To Nikki, it seemed as though she was trying to get away from something. What it was, he didn't know, but life became somewhat normal for him... until his mother was met with the same fate as his father. Left alone, Nikki was placed into a foster home where he dealt with the loss of his parents as best as he could.
Nikki may have gone off the rails for a year or so before normalizing and becoming adjusted to his new life. Adjustment came easier later on when he fell in love with a mouse boy, who he struck a relationship with. Life was well for the next few years and he even got engaged to the mouse boy, planning to marry him and also become a fashion designer - a welcome and normal life.
Unfortunately for the kitten, his life was just not destined for normalcy (for a reason that will go unstated). At the age of 18, Nikki came home one night to find the worst of sights. His lover dead. A rogue and insane vampire in his house. Nikki could have been on the chopping block next, but the insane vampire only took a few swipes before deciding to flee.
The cat found himself tossed into a whole new world and had lost everything he'd built up until that point, at least in his mind. Nikki went mad with grief and became bent on revenge. After a few days of research, Nikki found others who could help him. Most of them experienced some sort of loss like him. Some of them were just in it to be in it. But they told him about all of the creatures that go bump in the night and that once you're in, it's too hard to climb your way back out. Once marked for trouble, trouble will always seemingly find you.
Whether their words were true or just the bitter ramblings of retribution-driven, angry humans, Nikki was drawn in, as he was on his own quest of vengeance. Nikki eventually tracked down the vampire who had killed his lover and killed him in return. With the first blood drawn, Nikki decided to stay in the life. If he killed other monsters that went bump in the night, he could save more lives and hopefully prevent what happened to him from happening to others. At least, that was the noble rationalization that he told himself to justify the vengeance that had not been satisfied.
Over the next eight years, Nikki honed his skills, athletically and on monster lore. Encountering nearly every creature under the sun, Nikki killed most of them through the skills of an acrobat, his trusty daggers, and using that alluring body of his to convince a few of them to come into the bedroom with him. Nikki nearly had a few close calls of being taken out himself, though.
As the years passed, Nikki became more solitary and separated from the other hunters. He now avoids most of them. Yet, they know who to call when they do need help. Despite the cat's effeminate nature, he's known to be one of the more skilled hunters whose daggers have bled many a beast.
Yet, Nikki meets a vampire that changes all of that and Nikki starts to change as he becomes friends with the boy.
Oh, and Nikki drives a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500
And that's the real Nikki for you. A slightly cold-blooded and lonely hunter in his mid-twenties with no family and no life besides drowning himself in empty sex and slicing the throat of whatever monster he next gets his hands on.

F5 for Pout
Posted 10 years agoNew Story Series - What Am I?
Posted 10 years agoBy now you've seen: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16860431/
You may have also seen another image and read a story of mine that can tell you that I'm on this whole doll/android kink pretty hard. I'm now pulling a sort of reverse from dollification (though, don't get me wrong, it's still one of my favorite kinks right now) with a new story series based on the backstory and image provided above.
In the future, science and technology have advanced enough to transform any human into an android. Before the story starts, Nikki gets caught by a slaver group who put him through the process to where he's given a biomechanical body and a mind willing to serve. For whatever reason, though, Nikki - now N1kk1 - is tossed out by his master, who had grown bored with him and had also abused his body for fun. N1kk1's body has fallen into disrepair, with some parts and panels missing, limbs and joints twitching or sparking at times, and even some protocols of the mind starting to slip away under threat of shutting down, like his speech. He's found by a poor mechanic, who barely scrapes up enough to get by, and is taken in by him out of pity. The mechanic fixes N1kk1 up and romance ensues as the mechanic encourages and helps the android catboy regain some of his lost humanity.
There's also a critical memory error that is impeding N1kk1's progress. Due to N1kk1's currently sensitive state, the mechanic is not able to completely restore N1kki1's memories and protocols, but N1kk1 still has the capability to learn like humans do, as that is the function of androids. The mechanic has to help N1kk1 re-learn a lot of these protocols, such as proper behavior, fixing his speech errors, and, in general, helping him to understand a world he has lost all understanding of.
Each chapter title should have some sort of philosophical question. "What Does It Mean To Be Whole?" "What Makes One A Human?" That sort of thing. These questions will be explored by N1kk1 and the mechanic.
The first chapter will have the working title of "What Does It Mean To Be Whole?" The idea is that N1kk1 has fallen so deep into disrepair that his diagnostic protocols have started to fail him. So, he doesn't know what's wrong with him, but he knows that something feels amiss, incomplete. As he's fixed by the mechanic, N1kk1 re-learns what it means to be whole again.
I think this series will be fun and as it's a series, it can touch upon emotional scenes in a way that one-shots cannot and chapters can also be shorter than a one-shot story.
The working title of the series is "What Am I?" The title might change, though. High possibility of that, actually.
Let me know if you have any feedback or ideas to give. I'd be happy to hear them.

We are now the Inquisition.
Posted 11 years agoI've been playing this game since 3:00 PM today and man, oh man, am I having a blast. The areas are expansive. It's fun to explore. Combat is far more fun than both Origins and 2. The story is tense and well-written. The characters are all interesting. Even the side quests have been lovingly crafted, though there still are a fair few fetch quests.
Perhaps a more detailed review later. For now, I'm loving this game.

Happy (Late) Birthday, Nikki!
Posted 11 years agoNikki's over six years old now! I don't remember his exact conception date, but it was in 2008. If Nikki were a real person, he'd already be in first grade (And he'd be the most adorable first grader, too)! I'd like to take a moment to reminisce about all of the changes that have happened to Nikki and I'm going to do them in the order I recall them happening.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11471581/ - Here's the original Nikki.
Here we go! To start, Nikias Abadon is a grey-haired heterochromatic kitty-boy with a pseudo-hipster-emo fashion sense and is of Greek and Italian descent (He was born in Italy).
1. Tail added.
2. Tail too wolf/dog-like. Rounded out at the tip.
3. Fashion style changed away from pseudo-emo fashion and to be more dark cheshire-like.
4. Hair color changed to be more silvery rather than a flat gray.
5. Permanent two-toned hair color added, making Nikki's hair silver and purple. This was also added to the ears and tail.
6. Tail size lengthened and thickened.
7. Height decreased to 5'6, and this stays permanent no matter the age.
8. Body plumped out a bit. Still lithe, however.
9. Name changed. Last name no longer 'Abadon' but rather, 'Aaliyah.'
10. Origin later changed to fit the new name. No longer Italian, instead Hebrew. Still Greek as well.
11. Hair on right side of face lengthened, giving an asymmetrical look.
Latest Nikki Reference: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13991210/
The only thing I haven't really changed about Nikki is his eye color, which has always been green on the right and blue on the left.
Once again. Happy (Late) Birthday, Nikki! It'll be interesting to see how you change from here!

Nikki's Review of Transformers: Age of Extinction
Posted 11 years agoI'd like to start this off just by stating that I didn't go to see this movie because I wanted to, but as a favor to my family. Would I recommend it? Not in theaters. Maybe if it's on TV or online and you feel like wasting three hours of your life. If you're one of those types who likes to watch bad movies on Netflix (which I, admittedly, am. As of writing this review, I'm watching Scar on Netflix), you might get some enjoyment out of it - if you're not paying for it. I'm also not a fan of Transformers. I grew up in a different era.
Okay, so, compared to the other three Transformers movies, this one is the best out of them, by far. I like how the Humans actually do things in this movie. They actually act, rather than only get acted upon. They play the part of heroes and villains, as much as Humans can in a Transformers movie anyways. Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci know how to really sell their parts, too, unlike Shia. Even though the movie is not any good, Wahlberg and Tucci are so earnest in their roles that it's endearing when they're on the screen, especially the latter. The plot also isn't as bad as Revenge of the Fallen. As far as plot goes, it's interesting. The three factions play off thing is fun to watch. Unfortunately, the plot does take a while to get rolling, and when it does...
It just never stops. Never stops. Once things actually get into motion, this movie is a non-stop ride from one action set piece to another. Yeah, the Humans do things, and I like that, but there's too much doing in this movie period. It never gives you a break to stop and process things, to let your mind catch up to what's happening. It's mentally exhausting, which is weird because you kind of have to turn your brain off to enjoy the movie anyways. By the middle of the second act, this movie was really starting to grate on me. It's a long movie just on its own, but other long movies, such as LOTR, attempt to mediate this by injecting moments of rest, moments that aren't so fast paced as the rest.
Transformers: AoE just doesn't know when to stop. Its pace is out of control and the effect is the same as movies where they're not doing much of anything: it makes the movie feel far longer than it is. It's three hours of excessive action and it seriously got on my nerves after a while.
It does give me some hope that Michael Bay might actually manage to produce a good Transformers movie, though. As said, the human characters are a lot better compared to the previous three. Wahlberg sold his role. I also liked how Optimus Prime wasn't so white and shiny and pure-hearted in every little thing he says or does. There was some gray there; some rust. The comic relief in this movie also isn't as hammed up as the others, thank god for that. There's no racist Jar Jar robots in this movie.
Michael Bay just needs stop being so excessive and he needs to trim the fat - of which there is a lot. If he can find balance between the action and non-action, that might just be a movie worth paying for.

Here Comes The Ice Queen
Posted 11 years agoI've been creating a world for Nikki's Ice Queen persona. I'm still in early stages, but I've been working on lore and other background information for his realm. It details the birth of the Kingdom of Feysaili, Nikki's life as crown prince, the destruction of his dynasty, and his restoration to the throne as Queen Regnant. It's been a lot of fun creating this. You can find the information here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13624360/
I also thought it would be fun if I started an ask.fm for Nikki so people can learn what he's like, see how his character is. Feel free to ask questions here: http://ask.fm/IceQueenNikki

Rule 64 - Trap Internet Rule
Posted 11 years agoI'd like to institute a new rule on the internet as a sort of addendum to rule 63.
For every character that exists, both male and female, there will be a trap version of that character.
Oh, and Happy New Year's, you crazy perverts.

On the Subject of Raffles
Posted 12 years agoThis has been done before in recent days, but I'd like to offer my own lengthy opinion on the latest raffles, but I feel obliged to credit Resine and Ramzkun for the views that they've given also.
There's been a lot of interesting raffles going on recently and I'm sure you've all noticed them considering the amount of journals you've no doubt been inundated with. And when I say interesting, I don't exactly mean it in a positive way. It's much in the same way that the word "awesome" can also mean "terrible."
Now, to understand raffles as a phenomenon, we must first look into the basic concepts surrounding them. Roll with me here for a moment, as there'll be a much larger point to all of this. The idea of a raffle, at least as far as the FurAffinity variety goes, is a contest where you meet out a certain requirement list in order to get added to an ever-widening pool from which a winner, or sometimes winners, will be chosen in a (hopefully) random fashion.
I mention these requirements because they play a heavy role in the nature of the raffles they are a part of and their overall purpose. These requirements can range from watching, to pimping a journal, to writing up a post that answers questions, or simply making a comment in the thread of the raffle (and it's not limited to these either), and often a multiplicity of these aforementioned requirements will be put in place, such as doing all of the above.
Most of these raffles will require watching the raffle creator. It makes sense, in a way. If you've got vested interest in the raffle, you should have a vested interest in the raffle creator. Unfortunately, that 'should' only applies in name of art raffles. If an artist is doing an art raffle and they require you to watch them, I wouldn't fault them for that. If you want their free art, you should have an interest in said art you are attempting at getting for free.
That should go without saying. They're creating free art content on an art site with the goal of getting more interest in the content that they create. Art raffles, then, which produce more content in the name of the artist and then broadly in the name of the site, an important tool for which an artist can garner more interest in themselves and the content that they produce. They're just one of many tools that an artist can use to grab more attention, such as a kiriban. They key portion of this is that they produce content, thus they should get a pass.
But then you see other sorts of raffles. Money raffles. Console raffles. The list can go on. Anything can be made a raffle of, after all. However, in these cases, they do not directly produce more content in the name of an artist or an art site. They are a void space in which something offhand takes place that's not even relatively related from which the site's purpose originates from.
That is fine, however. Different strokes for all kinds of folks. Whatever. But what is not fine in these cases? Requiring a watch in order to enter these money (or whatever else have you) raffles. These watches are not gained because of the promise of content, more content, and content that the raffle entree will like because of past content you have created and future content you will create, one of those being the raffle.
No, you are requiring a watch for what amounts to nothing of progress. They are not because they like your art, they want to get some of your art, and they probably want to see more of your art. They are because you are offering them shiny that contributes nothing of value whatsoever to the site and its purpose, that being a community of content creators and those who enjoy more content. You are adding nothing of value and you are giving nothing of value, yet you are requiring them to watch you in spite of this, a nebulous idea at best that has one simple explanation.
No matter what you say or do, you are buying popularity that may not be deserved.
Thank you for reading this long rant.

Namesake
Posted 12 years agoYou guys should all know of my character Nikki by now. I spoil that bastard more than all of my other characters combined. So, why, then, am I known as Nomidae and not Nikias or Nikki or something like that? Is it because those names were taken? Actually, I don't know and I didn't even think of that when I made the account!
No, I do have a character named Nomidae and she's quite near and dear to my heart (though not as much as Nikki, clearly). You'll be seeing her soon enough.

20th Birthday!
Posted 12 years agoMarch 9th, 1993 is when I was born, and now on March 9th 2013 I enter another decade of my life. Since drinking alcohol means so little to me, my 20th birthday means a lot more to me than my 21st birthday. No longer am I physically a teenager, only one at heart, and I look forward to a great year to spend talking with all of my new FA friends. <3
I love each and every one of you. <3 And a merry unbirthday to those who don't share the date with me.

Thank you to my watchers/Ask me any question
Posted 12 years agoFirst of all, I'd like to say thank you to all of those who watch me, fave the pictures that I submit, and comments that I receive. I'm over 100 watchers now and it means a lot to me!
Now, aside from that thank you, I'd like to start a weekly question journal that will happen every Wednesday. You can ask me any question, whether you have something you want to know about my characters, myself, or anything, and I'll answer them. Please try to keep them reasonable.
