Awright, so I'm going to keep this journal short because I have school work I should be doing instead of messing around online, but in an hour or so I might stream some personal art and try to refine my wyvern's design. There's a chance that I'll be doing requests as well, but we'll have to see how everything turns out.

Awright, so I picked up Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate over the weekend and have been playing on and off since then I only got back into hunting online last night and, lemme tell you, I had a blast with those who hunted with me.

Awright, I want to start commissions for L$ on SL (since I currently cannot access my paypal for money comissions), but I'm having a hard time understanding how the economy works for art there. I've heard a couple of people say that my art would be worth something around 500-1000L$, but I'm not quite sure. The pricing for my art in real-life is set at:

When you think of a good transformation story, what three words come to mind?

Now, I don't mean what words in general--what words/terms would you like associated with a TF? I need to get my creative juices flowing so I can get something down, because I've been itching to write something up all day. The problem is, though--I can't think of how I want it to start or end! This is where those words come in.

With the words/terms that appear the most, I'll procure a story with them in mind. I think it's an interesting way to get a story out, so I guess I'll give it a shot!

If I like how the story goes enough, I'll sketch something up to go along with it.

And now, for some updates and a bit of a thing.

Updates:
I've been doodling up a storm as of late, which is good! I'm just having fun getting things out of my head and testing new techniques as I prepare to go to college. The enrollment process is almost complete and I should start courses soon!

I'm also currently working on a reference sheet for my 'sona but need help compiling everything together to make it work, so if anybody would like to help me with that, it'd be much obliged.

The Thing:
Alrighty, I'm telling it straight so nobody gets too pissed off at me--I'm not obligated to do requests. They're called requests for a reason, friends. They're pretty much suggestions for what to draw and I'll take them whenever, but they shouldn't be expected to arrive lickity-split. I work on them on my own time, and lately my time has been consumed by things I'm dealing with here on my end, such as stress, a nasty anxiety disorder, and depression that makes it hard for me to do anything at all. Because of this, most of the requests are simply WIPs in my art folder and I don't know if I'll ever get back to them, which I know is unfortunate because there were a ton of you asking.

Maybe I'll work on one or two to pass time when I have it between life's lemons and my own personal projects--but please, don't hold your breath for these. I'm not going to rush on them because they're pretty much only for fun--practically charity work.

Commissions and art trades are a completely different thing entirely, because for those I'm getting something in return (money or art), and I always keep my end of a bargain.

TL;DR: My birthday is tomorrow and requests are done on my free time.

So, after threatening, I decided to do a bit of research, figuring that I had already gone too far into the conversation... Lo and behold, after a couple of quick searches, I found some fairly interesting results that quickly proved my suspicions:

One of the names listed was--*gasp!* Caitlin Bryant. A little more research and a bit more toying with the bot, and yep. "She" asked for a card to pay for the site.

If you get an email, skype request, or anything like that from any user with "Bryant" as the last name, PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT IT. BLOCK AND/OR REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY, BECAUSE IT IS A SCAM. Please, spread this around, because I don't want anybody falling for this scam artist's tricks.

Feeling a bit under the weather--my voice is gone and my nose won't stop running. Ew.

Anyhow,  1poorsoul was nice enough to let me use a scanner at his house. I only managed to scan a few doodles and sketches before I had to go.

Eugh. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. I don't want to be sick during my finals in the afternoon.

Okay, quick tip for those of you who are unfamiliar with how artists work and function:

It's rude and demeaning to ask artists for requests without them specifically stating that they want to take requests. Artists have jobs and such, and if they do art for work, they oftentimes don't have time to take requests. By the by, we have our own agendas, and I can guarantee that if you were to ask any other artist for a random request, they would decline or ignore you unless they state that they want to take requests BEFORE YOU ASK, or have it somewhere on their page saying that, "Hey, requests are open!"

And holy fuck--don't get me started on uploading art from artists without permission.

It isn't yours, it's against the rules of art sites, and you have no right to upload it without their consent, even if you "gave them credit" by saying that "it's by so-and-so artist". You're taking attention from the original submission and diverting it toward your own gallery, where the artist likely won't be found or recognized because people are too lazy to search for them 90% of the time.

I really don't mean to be rude or sound harsh, but holy fuck, that really bothers me. I just came across both of these at the same time. I'm not naming names, but wow--of all of the things I've come across that are offensive to artists, those are pretty closely tied for 1st.

Once I get this new scanner's driver onto my computer, I'm going to be uploading a buttload of sketches/drawings to fill my gallery up some. They'll mostly be miscellaneous doodles and things I wanted to jot down onto paper before I forgot about them, as well as fan art and stuff, so yeah.

Today is the day I make my official comeback!

Yeah, looking back on the art currently in my gallery, I realize that I hate most of it sooooooooooooo...

Yeah, I'm not going to be doing any more requests for a while. I'm still going to be drawing, don't get me wrong, but yeah, that's 30+ more requests on that one journal and my tablet is still being a piece of crap, so I'm not even going to bother with it until I get everything straightened out.

I'm going to stick to uploading pencil drawings and sketches that I doodle up; I'll throw in a request or two (maybe) if I'm up for it, and I can't even work on the digital raffle thing because of my tablet, so I'm just going to do it traditionally and shade it in. Yep, B&W drawing, fully shaded, background--all the works--and I'm going to work at it until I get it just right.

When I do get my tablet working/a new tablet altogether, the first thing I'm going to do is work on finishing a reference sheet for my 'sona. In a day or two, I'm scrapping whatever art I don't like and going from there.

I don't know what's happening, but I do know that I'm really pissed off at the situation. I don't know if it's my computer itself or if my computer has a virus, but I can't run any of my art software that I normally use. I need help, and I would really appreciate it if somebody could give me some heads up on fixing this problem! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my programs, but it comes up with the same error message stating that the program has crashed the very moment I try to start it up.

Help? If you want, you can try spreading this around. I need all the help I can get with this!
