Fimfiction Finally
Posted 7 years agoSo hey everybutt. I want to thank everyone again for all the birthday well-wishing from yesterday, I really appreciate it. <3
But the big news for today is that after much hemming and hawing I had gone ahead and set up a fimfiction account for myself to post pone things. This will not be diminishing the content I upload here, in fact I will probably still upload here more often (especially given my poor management abilities), but you will be able to look over there for a neater venue to view some of my work.

Stream Schedule Adjustment
Posted 7 years agoWell it ends up that I'm going to end up postponing the Sunday stream to Monday again, and I supposed at this point I might as well just say outright that I'm probably going to be completely changing my stream schedule to being on Mondays from here on out. I have been feeling like this would be a good idea for a while, I had been planning on waiting until a little later to make this change officially but right now it doesn't particularly matter anymore.
Bronycon 2018 - Looking for room arrangements?
Posted 7 years agoSo with the onset of summer so too upcoming is this year's Bonercon Bronycon, which I am once again planning on going to. I currently have plans to stay with
drangonzic and
coralleaf but we are looking to have at least one more person with us ideally. If you are interested, please contact Drangonzic as he is handling these matters. Sharing of the payment is negotiable. :)

Posted 7 years agoSo I have been contemplating lately whether or not it's a good idea to be keeping my plans for streams so secretive, that maybe people would be more interested in coming if perhaps they have a better idea of what I'm going to show. In addition to that though, I thought, now that I have run through most of my collection, there isn't exactly a lot of particular impetus for me to go back to specific movies beyond whatever I happen to feel at a given time. Perhaps, then, I could instead try leaving the door open for viewers to decide what movie they'd want to see for an upcoming stream.
My options are hardly all that expansive, limited just to whatever I happen to already have. I have compiled a list of everything that I currently have a copy of for reference. I don't know yet exactly how I'd want to handle voting given that there are so many options, there might have to be a preliminary period just for choosing applicants, or it might just have to be done as a random selection. I'm also not sure when exactly I'd implement this just yet since I have some plans already for the next few weeks.
I'm aware that a lot of these aren't likely to ever actually get chosen (I'm looking at you Disney sequels) but I wanted to be comprehensive for completeness. Same goes for the series being listed even though I don't think I could really put those as an option given how long they are. And Rocko's Modern Life refusing to play in my DVD player.

TMI Tuesday Again, Surprise
Posted 7 years agoLet's get some activity going up in this shiz. :D
Commissions - Streams in the future maybe
Posted 7 years agoSo hey everybutt.
I've stated before that my commissions are pretty much always open but I figure I'd post another announcement about it just as a reminder. This is for both writing work and coloring work.
In addition to that general notion though I would also be interested in trying to do more in-stream commissions like I've done in the past. These would typically be shorter self-contained scenes, so if you have any desire for content like that this would be the ideal opportunity for them. Will make additional updates about planning in the future depending on how interest turns out.

Reminder: OBS Studio Issue
Posted 7 years agoWell no one responded so I guess I'll try posting this again.
So I decided to finally look into getting the newer version of OBS and making use of it now that I actually know how to crop views. Problem now though is that I'm running into the same issue I had with FFsplit where, as long as I have it on, it makes my computer's audio all muffled, which additionally escalates into this awful stuttering where it alternates between being more or less muffled, making it horribly distracting for me to concentrate. Has anyone experienced this or know of a way to fix it? I'm using the most recent version of OBS Studio.

Internet Outage
Posted 8 years agoSo a power surge fucked up our internet and we aren't going to be able to get someone to come out to fix it until Monday. This is going to force me to postpone my usual Sunday stream to Tuesday.
Update: Internet has been fixed now, though I think I'm still going to keep the stream postponed to Tuesday.

Polling Input: How did you come to know of me?
Posted 8 years agoSo something that I've been asked about recently is how exactly my readers, watchers, and clients came to know of me. I am curious to see how people found out about my work, especially if you were referred to me by someone else.
Milo Neutrality is Over
Posted 8 years agoBID DUMB IDIOT EDIT: So guess what guys, I fucked up, Milotic Day is supposed to be tomorrow, it was the 15th last year because it was a leap year. I JUST HAD TO BUNGLE THIS SOMEHOW.
Your viewing will now be based entirely around Milotic.
All that you see shall be Milotic.
You shall all be Milotic.
Probably going to internet hell for joking about this.
Happy Milotic Day 2017 everyone! <3

Updates: Fake NaNo over, Story packs, and Milo Mass
Posted 8 years agoSo hey, it's a new month, and I'm only putting up some kind of update four days late.
NaNo was kind of a bust in the end, I haven't gotten myself to actually check how much I've written but I know there's no way I managed to hit 50k. I still think that it was a success, though, as I was nevertheless able to write every single day of the month, even over the days when we were on the road to and from Colorado, so that's a reasonable enough accomplishment.
Among the things that I worked on during that month were a few particular stories, and with them done I have now finally assembled all that I need for my first paid story pack. It is, perhaps unsurprisingly, going to be MLP-themed with copious quantities of fat (and some tiddy), with six stories, each about one of the Mane Six (Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy), and mostly in the 2000-2500 word range, just short scenes about the life of being a big horse. I will be working out pricing and means of distribution soon, hopefully.
In an effort to continue my momentum in writing on a daily basis, though, I have decided to start on a new project, which you will have likely already noticed from my latest uploads. This is going to be two purposes: building up hype for Milotic Day, which is coming up on DECEMBER 15, and as tributes for a few people that I consider close to me, given that Christmas is also coming up as well. There should hopefully be a new upload each day for the next twelve days, if I don't lazy it up too hard. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Plans for November: Much Writing
Posted 8 years agoSo for anyone who may not know, it's NaNoWriMo time again. I'm going to be using this month as an excuse to jumpstart my creative drive and write as much as I possibly can every day. This work will be divided between various personal projects that I want to do for myself and on commission work, so I will be getting started on working through my queue again and taking new clients. It's reasonable to assume that I will be streaming at least a little every day, I don't think I'll constantly be posting announcements for it so just follow my channel if you want updates on when I'm starting.

Taking a short break from commission work
Posted 8 years agoI only neglected to post this for one whole day!
So after some debate I've decided to make the executive decision to take a break from writing commissions for a short period of time. I greatly appreciate the steady influx of clients and interest that I've had as of late, but I've felt myself gradually burning out as a result of this work taking up so much time out of my days, I want to be able to be more open so that I can pursue other projects. I will most likely be resuming work after Halloween, maybe after my driving test on November 2.
Please do not try to contact me for a commission during this time. If you are on my pending list, however, you may still confer with me on what it is that you wanted.

Stream moved to Sunday, possibly permanently
Posted 8 years agoDue to repeated frustrations with things going wrong on Thursdays I'm moving the stream date to Sunday, which may become the new stream time from now on if I feel like it's better.
On unrelated notes I reenabled comments on Compression. for everyone whom I know was just dying to comment.

Updates on commission info
Posted 8 years agoI have (finally) made a few updates on my commission policies. The most pertinent is that prices for coloring have changed. I have also added a section about a character discount I will be enacting.
See here for full details.
Reminder that commissions are basically always open unless I say otherwise!

Updates: Convention, Decaverse, and COMMISSIONS!
Posted 8 years agoTwo weeks since the last journal with several unrelated posts in the time since then is great timing to post a proper update. Since a lot has happened though I'm going to ball up a few things into one journal so I don't forget things again.
So I got back from Bronycon on Sunday of the previous week. As mentioned previously, this was my first time actually going to a convention for an extended period of time rather than just visiting for a couple of hours. Perhaps I could have done more, gone to more panels and done more meetups, but it was a blast nonetheless, I got to see so many people - artists whose work I admire, friends I've known for a long time, and even making some new ones I hadn't interacted with before. I was worried that I might get hit with depression hard afterwards, but that has yet to really sink in.Instead I'm just angry.
What did happen shortly after I came back though was my friend
marity decided to shut herself off from social interaction on the internet, and in the process of doing so she left ownership of her F-list RP setting and channel, the Decaverse to me. This is something that I've been involved with for a little over a year now but I don't think I've ever made much mention of it on FA, I had plans to post some things but, surprise surprise, I never got around to doing/finishing any of that. The RP side of the setting is currently largely inactive, and managing something like that is a matter I'm not exactly familiar with, but I do know how to manage a story, and since the Decaverse has been in need of some rewriting for a while anyway I'll be trying my best to update the background of the world in as much time as I can manage.
Lastly though, something I've needed to make an announcement about for a while is COMMISSIONS. I'm not going to put all the details here because there's a lot going on here already and I don't think I should throw up a big wall of stuff for commission info too. There are going to be various clarifications to some of my policies, and there are going to be some small price changes in regard to coloring, but the most important thing I want to say is that story commissions are basically always open unless I say otherwise which will presumably only be if I get a large influx of customers all at once. There will be a new journal coming up as soon as possible to explain all of these things in further detail.

Bronycon 2017
Posted 8 years agoToday I'm going to be heading up to Baltimore for the next few days for Bronycon. While I did go last year, that was only for a few hours of a single day, so this will be my first true convention experience. Here's to hoping I don't have an aneurysm from socialization overload.
Consequently this does mean no stream tonight, presumably I will be doing one after I get back on Sunday if I'm not too exhausted.

In response to stream feedback
Posted 8 years agoI probably should have posted this a few days ago.
So in regard to the previous journal, I appreciate everyone who responded to my concerns. I see that for the most part the biggest dilemmas are just a matter of limited time and difficulty with multitasking. I just have to say that I don't really expect everyone watching to be paying attention to the stream religiously, I'm perfectly fine if you want to preoccupy yourself with other things while watching, so long as it doesn't suddenly flood into the stream chat and derail any discussion. Frankly I was expecting that there would be more comments to the tune of "I don't like X content that you show."
I'm going to try to make my streaming a bit more stable. From now on it'll be safe to assume that I'll most likely be streaming coloring work on a given Thursday of a week. In the event that I foresee having to reschedule, there will be advance notice. Saturdays are still going to be reserved for gaming, and I'll probably make an announcement for those when I'm planning on starting a new playthrough. Stream announcement journals will also have some slightly more specific details about what I'm planning on working on for that particular night, but there may be a degree of uncertainty with this as I often struggle with myself to decide what I want to go with. I'm hoping that this will help make things a little easier to work around for everyone involved.
Also this is way late but I want to thank everyone for birthday well-wishes last week, I appreciate everyone who showed up last Sunday. <3

Is there any reason you don't come to my streams?
Posted 8 years agoForgive the bluntness of this statement. This is a broad and overarching question. Please do not respond if all you have to say is that you don't see my announcements. What I'm looking for here is anything that is, more often than not, actively interfering with your ability to watch, and if there is anything that I could do to remedy that.
I emphasize that this is something that I'm genuinely curious about, I want to aim to improve my streams if possible.

Things to upload
Posted 8 years agoI've got a pretty massive backlog of pictures to upload that I've been forgetting about for a variety of reasons. In some cases, I feel the need to unnecessarily wait for some appropriate opportunity which ends up taking forever to happen because my work ethic is terrible. In a handful of cases, I feel that the coloring work isn't fully up to snuff and could afford some improvements, which again I keep forgetting to do. For most though the number of things is just so great that I can't even think of where to begin, I can hardly even remember what things I have on my list.
So, at lack of any better ideas, I feel like I should attempt to turn it over to you viewers. What sort of content might pique your interest? There's a good chance that I have something lying around to fit a number of different fetishes. Alternatively, if perhaps you actually know of some specific thing that I have and would want to see uploaded, feel free to point it out.

dat Hollow Knight tho
Posted 8 years agoSo while I mulled over what platform to get Night in the Woods on I decided to scratch an itch for another game I'd been having and picked up Hollow Knight.
And like. Wow?
I'd seen the game beforehand, but it didn't really occur to me until playing it just how striking the art design is, how lavishly detailed the environments are and how the ambiance is perfect in every single locale that I visit, and all of the characters look so distinct and manage to have the appropriate level of cute or creepy where necessary - that I have always loved bugs has greatly helped my opinion. It was around the time I reached City of Tears though that I realized just how much it connected with me, that area in particular was breathtaking to behold, and then things just continued to amp up from there to the climax. The first time I made it to the end of the non-true-ending final boss fight I nearly found myself moved to tears at what was happening, and the true final boss was appropriately epic in its conclusionwhen it wasn't being painful bullet hell.
The game is very clearly inspired by Dark Souls, not just in its story and atmosphere but in its difficulty, though it's not really accurate to say that it's a Souls-like game in the same sense as, say, Salt & Sanctuary, it's just a big metroidvania adventure. I'm of the understanding that unfortunately a lot of content was cut because it didn't meet all of its kickstarter goals, but despite that, considering it was a $15 game, I was astounded by the sheer scope of the world and how much there was to explore, everything is lavishly interconnected and once you have the dash and wall jump movement abilities you really start to be able to make your way into every nook and cranny on the map. Everywhere I went I was surprised to see just how much more there still was to discover.
I have some complaints, I wish that there were some more fast travel points, the absence of Stag Stations in the lower and outer parts of the map make it rather annoying whenever you need to go out there, and some of the optional endgame things push the difficulty a little too much, but none more so than the White Palace's abrupt shift to platform hell in a manner that I feel is incredibly jarring to the tone of the game and overall experience. Ultimately, however, I have absolutely adored this game, and I've been glued to it ever since I bought it. It's been a long time since I've felt this invested in a game, enough to want to really push myself to complete as much of it as possible, with my tendency to eclectically jump from game to game without really finishing anything. And given that there is confirmation of a DLC in the works for the game and strong indication of a sequel or other continuation, I have hopes to experience more of this world's story in the future.
I still need to finish Shovel Knight though.
