General | Posted 14 years agoI suppose I have to update this thingy every once in a while. I'll try and put at least a journal a month on here.
The first month of 2012 was a cunt. I quit my job a week or two ago, though, so I'm taking a little bit of time to relax and then I'm going to be packing and moving to New York. It's going to be a bit scary, but I'm really excited, too. It's been a year since I've been there; much too long. I'm scheduled to leave on Feb. 13, but I might push it off for a week if my taxes don't come back to me quick enough.
I want to meet some furs in NY! Also, I want to play some Mario Kart 7 or Tetris Axis with someone. :c I don't have my friend code right now. I'll edit this journal and add it later. ;) Let me know if you want to play (and probably kick my ass.)

Ten Albums
General | Posted 15 years agoOkay, I'm going to jump the bandwagon and RE-DO my list of albums that made me who I am. I'll limit it to 10 albums. Like I said in my last journal that I posted like this, these aren't my favorites, but most influential. Kind of the same thing, right?
1. Radiohead - In Rainbows
This was the first Radiohead album I listened to. I know, I'm late to jump the bandwagon, but better late than never, right? This album introduced me to my favorite and most influential band. I like OK Computer and Kid A more, definitely, but this is the album that started it all for me.
2. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
This was sort of my stepping stone to the "indie" genre, I guess. I haven't once gotten tired of this album. NOT ONCE.
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
I'm almost embarrassed to admit that this album's so important to me! This was my first CD that I ever listened to. I was obsessed with it when I was a kid. I still remember the first time I popped it in and listened to the entire album.
4. MGMT - Congratulations
I know that this is pretty recent, but... God damn it's good. MGMT might not be my favorite band, but this album was put together so beautifully.
5. Cold War Kids - Robbers & Cowards
Have you listened to this yet? Go do it now. That's all I have to say.
6. Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Conor Oberst has this amazing ability to get into my soul. This album has helped me with a lot. I've listened to this after breakups, before work to get me uplifted... actually, I just listen to this all the time.
7. Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica
It's Modest Mouse!
8. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
I can't even tell you why this album is so important to me. I really can't.
9. The Antlers - Hospice
This is the only album that's made me cry. It's so emotionally charged, I wasn't expecting it to be as good and as powerful as it is.

Damnit. I want to be Josh Ritter so badly.

2011 Plans (A bit early, with more updates than plans)
General | Posted 15 years agoI thought I'd squeeze a journal entry in before I head out to go birthday shopping for my roommate. :) For a few weeks there, I was really struggling with life. It was kicking my ass in about every way I could think of. I really wasn't happy. I'm not sure how I fixed it, but I kind of locked myself in the apartment and cleaned the hell out of it. Now I'm in a better mood!
I start my job pretty soon, orientation is on Tuesday! It's going to be nice having a desk job again. Especially when I'm going to be able to afford a smart phone that can browse the internet while I sit there. I'm finally going to have insurance, PTO, 401k, all that fun stuff! I'm really excited to start, especially since there's a few friends I'll be working with. :)
This is the last month on our lease at the apartment, so Sean (my roommate) and I are going to move in with our parents for the holidays, then start the new year by moving into a new house. We're trying to find a place that will let us have pets, too. We're planning on both getting a dog. He's going to get a Boston Terrier, I still haven't decided on the dog that I want. While we've moved out, I'm going to work on buying a new computer, a car, and a new longboard! My shortboard does fine, but an extra longboard would be great.

General | Posted 15 years agoMy life is SO CLOSE to being how I want it. I've been doing a lot to turn things back around lately, and it's going extremely well. All I need is one more paycheck and the willpower to say no to my ex. We're still friends, but yesterday he asked if we could have casual sex, and I didn't give him a clear no. I need to do that. T_T
Otherwise, life is good. I quit Walmart and nailed a new job, so I just have to wait for my first nice paycheck and I can have some spending money. Right now I'm pretty much only able to afford rent and necessities. I want a new guitar, new longboard, and a computer!
I thought I had something interested to talk about, but I guess not. Well shit.

Totally ignore me, I'm trying to be funny, and I'm not feeling too well. Not a good combo.
I woke up this morning at 4:fucking30 in the morning just so I could get ready to skate to work. No transportation today. I've never skated to work, but I knew that it took me an hour to walk, so I thought I'd just get there early. I skated a bit, then all of a sudden I'm throwing up everywhere. Yeah, true story. I walk back home and call my work so they know I'm going to be late. I call a taxi. There's no way I'm going to walk down the roads when I'm sick. I wait an hour and they never came. So I call again, since, you know, I don't learn from my mistakes. They never came after the second call, either. I'm convinced that they hate me. They're probably making fun of me <i>right now</i>.
To top this all off, I learn my mom has Emphysema and a tumor. We're not sure if it's cancer yet, but it's a bump around her hip area that is noticeably growing. I'm not completely convinced it's a tumor. (I really hope not, anyway.)

So Modest Mouse is playing for FREE in Salt Lake City next week. Road trip! We're going to bring our boards to Salt Lake and try to see if we can find a skate park. I've never really explored SLC so we'll see if we're successful. Picnics will be had, for sure.
I need to hang out with some of my Idaho furry friends this summer, too. An Idaho fur meet is on my list of things to do before I leave. Let's make this happen!

I've been really busy with work. It's good money, but I'm starting to get a bit burned out. I'm thinking about taking a week off in August to just disappear. Travel to a theme park, camp, swim, and party like a... a hyena.
Other than work, I picked up skateboarding a few months ago, and I've been doing that a lot lately! I stopped for about a week, but then I decided to get some 80d Spitfire Classics, and they revived my love for my board. I've been hanging out with my friends and riding around the half mile area, then being tired and sore after the uphill journey.
I'm glad to have the internet again, and I'm looking forward to when I can commission more again. (So close to having my debts payed off.)

General | Posted 15 years agoToday was pretty amazing. I'm not going to lie. Work flew by quickly. One of my coworkers annoyed me a bit, but since the day flew by it was alright.
As soon as I got off, I went home, changed my clothes, grabbed my skateboard, and flew out the door. I went to the mall to spend the money I got yesterday. I ended up buying a new CD (As I Lay Dying's The Powerless Rise, three new pairs of earplugs, a new skateboarding tool, and went to see Nightmare on Elm Street.
In the process, I ended up meeting a pretty awesome guy. :) Ended up talking with him for a few hours before he had to go, and we're going to meet again. Hurray!
(Not to mention that the weather is GREAT.)

If you support anti-cub-porn by all means add his icon to your page. If you don't, you should still pass this along to as many people you know who would be concerned about unfair censorship.
If FA stands to allow submissions of any kind to be posted, then FA should also expect and stand to allow the expression of dissenting perspectives that may emerge. To not is blatantly hypocritical.
This is a reminder that you are NOT immune to criticism for the things you post.
My opinion: I'm cool with cubs, but it's really inappropriate to have them in sexual situations. My comments are open to criticism, so go ahead and debate if you want.

I was dating someone for an entire two days before I got tired of them. I'm really happy single, haha. (It was really stupid, trust me.)
I've hurt myself skating more than usual lately, but I'm progressing really quickly.
I'm currently on a two day break from work. Things have been going good there. Since we've gotten our new supervisor, things have been pretty relaxed there.
Oh, and I finished book two of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein series. I was so pissed when it ended. It just built up and cut off. You shouldn't be allowed to end a book that way. Luckily a friend let me borrow the third.
This journal was just to bump my last one down, really. I need to post something here at least once a week to keep interested.
