Not gonna do the standard meme, cuz no one cares ;P
So I'm gonna be there, from early arrival to late departure, so looking forward to spending some amazing time with my friends from all over the place! =D
Nope not gonna enter the dance comp, cuz I don't like the setup of the EF dance comp and I'm too derpy to dance
So any more questions, remarks or assumptions? I will answer all of them questions =P See ya there hopefully!

Posted 11 years agoSo I've been hearing from a couple of sources that some people are talking negatively behind the backs of me, my boyfriend and some of my friends. I don't know why, apparently we are super-interesting to talk about. Normally I've just been able to push it aside, but being confronted with it twice in a couple of months is getting annoying. And it's stuff that is based on rumors, not facts. I have a hunch of who is behind this, but I won't say who I think (know) it is.
So I guess people are calling us "popufurs" or something like that. After FWH I heard some people had problems with us having fun within our little group of friends and not sharing the fun with others. Our group of friends consists of people that know each other and trust each other very well, we'll support each other through thick and thin and I love those guys (you know who you are). Yeah we always have lots of fun when we are together, and we hang out with each other, even at events. We might get a bit loud and it may be scary to other people. Is it envy that people start talking behind our backs about this? We don't like to sit inside and stare at a laptop or tablet during the whole con, and instead we have fun...How about that...
It is also been said that we don't make enough efforts to get to know ALL the people at FWH, and to be honest, I don't want to know every single person!! I'm not a person that needs 150 acquaintances, instead I choose to have GOOD friends and a couple of super close friends. It takes enough effort to keep that contact with those people as it is. That doesn't mean I don't want to get to know new people and that you can't talk to me, I'm just saying I'm happy with the people I know. And I'll be happy to have a chat with whoever wants to talk and is social enough to have a normal conversation, who knows, something beautiful may grow out of it! And why aren't other people making effort to get to know us? We are not some group of untouchable people, you can come to us and talk. There has been several moments that I have separated myself from the group and sit with some other people, maybe I could have done that more, yeah, I'm not perfect, just like you. People that actually KNOW me, know that I'm a shy person, and it takes a lot of effort for me to start a conversation with someone that I don't know yet. It's a flaw in my personality, so what? You didn't come to me either, or is that different? It's very normal in a big group of people like the furry fandom, that groups are formed. In EVERY other social group it works this way, but in the furry fandom; DRAMA! Think about it, how many people at your work (considering you have a job) do you REALLY know, or really want to know for that matter? I bet you can count them on one hand.
And then there is a rumor that we only hang out with people that have awesome fursuits. Those people are just blind, ignorant and retarded, and the people who believe them without doing research are brainless sheep. Because if you look into the group of people that we hang out with, half of them don't even have suits. And on top of that some of them didn't have suits when we became friends. Yeah I admit, I like fursuits, I like talking about suits with others and yeah, I use fursuits as a conversation starter, evil huh? I didn't have a suit or commissioned a suit when I got to know my boyfriend, and look where are now...All I'm saying, don't believe everything you hear, this fandom is filled with socially undeveloped, envious people who don't have anything interesting to say about themselves, that they make themselves feel better by talking down on others...sad...
So instead of following people who talk negatively behind people's backs, come talk to use like a grownup. Or at least if you are a grownup, otherwise I can't blame you for being childish. You can always talk to me, send me a note, DM on twitter, whatever. If you have a problem with me, let me know, don't go spreading around rumors, because there are people dumb enough to believe them. I know it's easier to talk shit, but please be a f*cking adult, again, I'm not perfect! If I ever done you wrong or something, let me know, I'm grown up enough to apologize for something I have done, as long as it's reasonable! If you have a problem with me, my close friends, or any other person for that matter, GO TALK TO THAT PERSON! It's what a social, grown up person does. I would have less of a problem with all this shit if it were true! But it's all stuff that has been exaggerated or made up, just to make us look bad! Grow up and start living your own life! Stop focussing on what other people do and start making your own life better!

Posted 12 years agoIt already feels like it was months ago...Time just flew by because of all the awesome people I spent time with. I just love the diversity of people that just get along really well with no problems. PCD isn't really that bad fortunately, but I did caught a cold on the last day =(
I just miss waking up at a place without any worries, just finding your friends in the morning for breakfast and just have fun with them, relax, cuddle and whatever we wanna do.
Didn't suit that much this year, but didn't miss it that much, hung around with friends a lot more instead ^^ Didn't get too drunk either, which is kinda lame =P
Also co-hosted a little panel on dancing, really didn't know what I was doing. Got asked last minute and didn't know what to expect, I just hope the people that attended it had a good time =3
Got to meet a couple of new people as well as getting to know people better which is always nice
Just wanna thank all my friends for the fantastic time, you guys made this EF one to remember, I really luv you guys!

Confuzzled 2013...ISSA Gone!!
Posted 12 years agoWow it's gone...When i think back of it, it's such a blur...It just went by so damn fast! I did have a great time though, got to spend time with the people I love and also got to know some new people. Seriously, thank you to everyone who spent time with me, I don't see myself as an interesting enough person, so it means a lot! I just wished I took more time to get to know everyone better. Don't really have the feeling I made the most of this con, hope to do better next time. I'm just so shy when I'm not really feeling a 100%, wished I could open up more easily...So if I was quiet or something, I'm sorry, it's just me and my derpy side...
Went to bed pretty late, though not as late as I normally do at EF. The con really needed to get going in my opinion, the early arrival and the first day were quiet in the night. The next time, we just need to get drunk sooner! Suiting was ok...Normally I enjoy it more, but sometimes I was just a bit bored and stuff, just walking around a bit. This time enjoyed the time I wasn't suiting more than when I did. Loved the night where we just put up some music in the bar and went crazy ^^ I'm just really blessed with such great friends (you know who you guys are!) Can't wait to see you again!

I'm feeling a bit spiritual today, it might be the sleep deprivation from FWH but I've been thinking a lot about stuff lately. Watching some inspirational videos like the "to this day project". This weekend was FWH, which was way better than I expected. I really cherish the moments I can be with the people I have the honour to call my friends and especially the person I can call my life partner. At these times, all is well, I love all the moments, laughs and love with my friends. All I can hope is that I can be of some value in return for these amazing people. It's really times like these that keep me alive. Without them I promise you, I am nowhere, lost and alone...
Because of my background I've always had trouble sharing my feelings with other people. I've been working on it because of my boyfriend, who is the total opposite of what I am in that regard. So I've decided to spill the beans here. I'm pretty sure that a lot of these people don't know much about my personal situation. I don't like talking about it, because it makes me feel worthless and sad. That's why I pretty much always put on this "happy mask" in front of everyone and try to avoid questions about my personal life. I mean, all is well if you don't think about the bad things right?...Not really...I've been carrying this weight on my shoulders for a couple of years now, and now it seems like the last call to drop the weights and rise above it. Now, I'm really making it sound even worse than it may be to you people, but let me explain.
I've always considered myself to be an intelligent person, which I may or may not be. But what is intelligence if you don't put it to use. Exactly, not much, it's like putting gasoline in a car that is broken. During my school careers I've never had any troubles getting good grades. That was, until I had to write my thesis. For some reason I've never got myself to finish the damn thing, and I'm paying the price for it. I'm getting older and older and I've achieved pretty much nothing on a professional level. At FWH, someone asked me how old I was, and I couldn't answer it. I always was one of the younger people in class, now I'm the oldest, still living with my parents, feeling trapped. I've cut the connections with my non-furry friends out of shame, I'm ashamed where I stand at this age. I’m seeing my self confidence crumble to a point when sometimes I'm not even sure why people want to spend time with me. It's idiotic that I let this thing take over my whole life. But I can't help it. There's something inside me that keeps me from "just doing it". And it is not until someone held a mirror in front of my face and told me things I already knew. Because I think about it every single day, it's gnawing on me like a leech, and being confronted by the things you put away deep by not talking about it anymore is painful. But it may be good that it happened, sometimes you just need a kick in the pants to get something done.
I’m currently looking into ways I can fix this issue, I’m going to give hypnotherapy a try. But also this last couple of days I’ve really had the urge to talk about it with some friends. Some people think talking about stuff is a kind of therapy as well. I just wonder if the friends I can laugh with, also are willing to listen to my problems. I’m afraid to bore and bother someone with this. Some people just sense that there’s something bothering me and ask me about it, some can’t see through my defence mechanism, which is fine, some are more sensitive to underlying emotions than others. Really want to visit some friends and just have a talk about serious stuff, but don’t know how to bring it up to them. I don’t really like talking over MSN or something about this stuff unless there’s no other choice. I also don’t really feel I’m able to maintain friendships that well either, I suck at messenger chatting, it makes me feel bad not being able to keep a conversation on the Internet going.
In the end I am so very glad I’m a part of this community, things like someone that you’ve never even met in real life genuinely listens to your story and tries to help you the best he can. I’m so glad I’m a part of a community where you can just hug and hold someone without saying anything, and all is well, no matter how you are different from the standard. We are all people carrying luggage from the past, we can all learn from each other.

Valentinesday sadness
Posted 13 years agoSo wow what a rough day today, I just need to put it on paper right now, feel free to read if you want to...On tuesday we heard that my granny had fallen and broke her hip. She wasn't in the best shape of her life, demented and her body giving up on her some years ago when she fell down some stairs during a vacation. She was supposed to get surgery but there were too many complications for her to carry on with that. So I got a call from my mother, crying, saying that granny isn't okay and if I could come over to the hospital, because they were going to let her go. So I waited for my brother to come home and we drove to the hospital. When we arrived, my mom and my uncles told me to go in the room where she was and say my last goodbye to her. I was doing ok so far, being strong, but once I stepped in that room, seeing that poor old woman, not moving, with a breath mask on, I just collapsed and couldn't stop crying. It was so hard to look at....Everytime I think back to that moment I can't help but shedding a tear, today felt so surreal, like it didn't happen...
So everyone was there, her sons and daughters and grandchildren, we all took our turns saying our last goodbyes to the woman who stands at the foundation of this great loving family. Without her, I wouldn't be here. She had a rough life coming from Indonesia with 4 of her children, living in poverty for most of her life. And yet, she made it work, she made my mother, uncles and aunts into strong wealthy people, we owe it all to her. Everyone gathered as the doctor removed her from the breathing device and we all hugged and held each other when she took her last breath in life. It was all unreal and emotional to see it, seeing someone pass away really does something with you. Seeing your strong uncles, who you've never seen weak, collapse and cry as their mother left this earth. So she moved on to a better place, not in pain anymore, free from the bounds of that old human body. Surrounded by people who love her, we got to say one last goodbye to her with dignity.
I always found it really rough to visit her, she didn't recognize anyone anymore, not even her own children. That's why I didn't visit her often. Actually I recently told my mom that I wanted to visit her again, because it has been a while, now I didn't get that chance. I kind of feel guilty about that now...But it's ok now, I gave it a place in my heart and I think it was even for the better. She's free now, free from pain and I hope she can look down from heaven with a smile and look at our strong family with a sense of pride. She will be buried next to my grandfather, who I've never known. I promise to visit her grave and think about her, and when I forget how important she was in my life, I hope to read back on this journal.
A big thank you to my boyfriend, who was by my side all day today. We managed to salvage our Valentinesday, and got my mind off of this. I love you soooooo much and I'm so glad I can call you mine! Sorry it wasn't the Valentinesday we had planned, things went a little differently. But thanks to you, I could still enjoy the day.

Eurofurence 18 & vacation timez!
Posted 13 years agoEF was amazing again! Met a couple of amazing new people, saw friends that are really dear to me and haven't seen in a while. So bummed it is over, it started and it was gone in what I felt was a heartbeat. Thanks to all the friends that I hung out with, you know who you are!!!
One of the highlights obviously was the proposal of
kiyo-nekofluff to 
zakari_fursuit, which made me cry not just once but a couple of times xD such a beautiful way to ask someone to be yours forever, shared at a furryconvention with lots of friends. I wish you guys all the happiness the world! And so want to thank you guys that you shared that moment with me! Now it's aceshepherd's turn :P
Also did the fursuit games with
traxswe, I couldn't have thought of a better partner for this than him. We kicked ass in the fundraiser. And ever though we got eliminated after the first round, I bet we had the most fun out of everyone doing it. Plus we definately put the most smiles on people's faces even after we got eliminated! Trax, stay the awesome cat that you are, keep on bouncing and thanks for putting up with me, convincing me to keep going in the games!
Suiting was awesome again! I absolutely LOVE suiting at conventions! Can't wait to see the pictures!
I so wanna name more people to thank, but I'm afraid I'll forget one and that isn't fair. My friends know I love them and will miss them like crazy! So guys, totally love you and we'll meet again soon I hope *sigh* loved hanging out with you, really wished I could have spent more time with you! Rant about the Dance Competition
Posted 13 years agoOk I just need to get this of my chest...Some people will hate me for this or whatever, don't really care right now, just want to open a discussion.
I'm not saying that I'm the best dancer around, I'm totally not! But I guess people can vouch that I am able to move my body a little bit. That's why I like to do it, sometimes I make a fool of myself but hey, everyone has a right to express himself through dance at anyway they can! So I've entered the dance competition at EF last year, I screwed up my dance routine by making a mistake, was disappointed in myself but I just didn't practise enough, so it's my own fault. Still received feedback from the audience that they liked the performance, that was great to hear! Dance competitions are a great way to entertain people and express yourself to an audience. Dancers that have a certain skill level can show off their style and swag on the dancefloor! Should be really entertaining!
Now, this year's dance competition participants aren't pre-selected like last year, anyone can participate by making a video of his/her danceskills. A jury will select the participants and the best ones will be picked out to be a contestant in the competition. But what if there aren't enough people signing up for it? What if there are less people than there are slots for the competition? That means that any human being, that has a fursuit and a pulse will be able to take center stage, and dance, good or bad, or move, not even necessarily to the beat. The organization doesn't have grounds to reject someone anymore if they want to participate, made a "dance" video and satisfies prerequisites, like being able to breathe. Now, this is the case, the number of applicants is lower than the amount of available slots so everyone that wanted to participate is able to do so.
I'm not gonna name names, but there is a guy in the Dutch fandom that gets me really embarrased if he says "I'm a furry". He doesn't have a good name in the Dutch furry fandom, and I'm always trying to avoid him, like many others. I can go on about this person for a while, don't know him well, but well enough to know that I want nothing to do with him, and the people that know whom I'm talking about will know the feelings that dwell up when you think about him. Anyways, I guess you're seeing where I'm going at, this person is entering the dance competition. When I heard this today, I really got mixed feelings about the competition. I saw the video that he made and it wan't good to say the least, it was awful. He couldn't even move to the beat of the music! I wouldn't even call what he did dancing and I doubt anyone would be entertained by seeing this, except for the huge amount of fail. Now don't get me wrong, I don't blame the organization, him or anyone for this, he has the right to participate. But it left me with a sour taste that someone like that can make it through the "selection" and perform next to people that take the competition seriously and have a big affection with dancing. I mean c'mon! Anyone that wants to perform in the Dance competition should at least have a rhythm and should at least be able to move to the beat, right??? I don't wanna sound like I'm bashing someone, alienating him or being just downright mean btw. But this is my journal, my feelings in writing, normally I'm a really nice guy xD Ask my friends lol xD
What I'm trying to say is that I'm a bit insulted that a person like that can compete. It's like when I show up for the Olympics and show up at the starting line at the swimming pool competing with Michael Phelps xD Not that I'm comparing myself with Phelps btw ;) but you know what point I'm trying to make. I don't deserve to be in the olympics, but I will get a camera pointed at me and will be competing with people that love what they do, even if I haven't shown interest in swimming before. I'm not totally sure anymore if I want to participate. I probably will, because the organization has put a lot of effort to realize it. But this, for me, has made me lose any meaning to the competition. Before this, I even hesitated to enter myself, because I thought I wasn't good enough to participate.
Ugh this journal has gotten way too long and it's getting late. I know some of you will disagree with me, and that's fine, it's just a feeling that I have right now. Feel free to comment!

Still received feedback from the audience that they liked the performance, that was great to hear! Dance competitions are a great way to entertain people and express yourself to an audience. Dancers that have a certain skill level can show off their style and swag on the dancefloor! Should be really entertaining!
Now, this year's dance competition participants aren't pre-selected like last year, anyone can participate by making a video of his/her danceskills. A jury will select the participants and the best ones will be picked out to be a contestant in the competition. But what if there aren't enough people signing up for it? What if there are less people than there are slots for the competition? That means that any human being, that has a fursuit and a pulse will be able to take center stage, and dance, good or bad, or move, not even necessarily to the beat. The organization doesn't have grounds to reject someone anymore if they want to participate, made a "dance" video and satisfies prerequisites, like being able to breathe. Now, this is the case, the number of applicants is lower than the amount of available slots so everyone that wanted to participate is able to do so.
I'm not gonna name names, but there is a guy in the Dutch fandom that gets me really embarrased if he says "I'm a furry". He doesn't have a good name in the Dutch furry fandom, and I'm always trying to avoid him, like many others. I can go on about this person for a while, don't know him well, but well enough to know that I want nothing to do with him, and the people that know whom I'm talking about will know the feelings that dwell up when you think about him. Anyways, I guess you're seeing where I'm going at, this person is entering the dance competition. When I heard this today, I really got mixed feelings about the competition. I saw the video that he made and it wan't good to say the least, it was awful. He couldn't even move to the beat of the music! I wouldn't even call what he did dancing and I doubt anyone would be entertained by seeing this, except for the huge amount of fail. Now don't get me wrong, I don't blame the organization, him or anyone for this, he has the right to participate. But it left me with a sour taste that someone like that can make it through the "selection" and perform next to people that take the competition seriously and have a big affection with dancing. I mean c'mon! Anyone that wants to perform in the Dance competition should at least have a rhythm and should at least be able to move to the beat, right??? I don't wanna sound like I'm bashing someone, alienating him or being just downright mean btw. But this is my journal, my feelings in writing, normally I'm a really nice guy xD Ask my friends lol xD
What I'm trying to say is that I'm a bit insulted that a person like that can compete. It's like when I show up for the Olympics and show up at the starting line at the swimming pool competing with Michael Phelps xD Not that I'm comparing myself with Phelps btw ;) but you know what point I'm trying to make. I don't deserve to be in the olympics, but I will get a camera pointed at me and will be competing with people that love what they do, even if I haven't shown interest in swimming before. I'm not totally sure anymore if I want to participate. I probably will, because the organization has put a lot of effort to realize it. But this, for me, has made me lose any meaning to the competition. Before this, I even hesitated to enter myself, because I thought I wasn't good enough to participate.
Ugh this journal has gotten way too long and it's getting late. I know some of you will disagree with me, and that's fine, it's just a feeling that I have right now. Feel free to comment!
Screw it....EF Dance Competition
Posted 13 years agoYou know what?? I'm just gonna enter the EF dance competition. Was doubting whether or not to participate because I thought I prolly wasn't good enough. Lol I've seen myself dance in the mirror now I'm taking BodyJam lessons, it just isn't tight enough. But I've been getting some comments of some close people that I should just enter, so I'm gonna do it =)
I have a track in mind that I'm gonna use, obviously hip-hop (best music to dance to ;) ) Little time to practice, but as long as I'm enjoying it, not make a fool of myself and not make a mistake early in the routine (like I did last year xD) it should be really fun to do. Hope you guys come and watch all the amazing dancers at the competition that put their hearts on the dancefloor for you guys to enjoy =3

The only pictures I didn't upload were from the room party as there were too many headless fursuiters and fursuit parts lying around. Might upload them later to a private folder or whatever.
We caught people on film on all the wrong (or right) moments =P Soooo many funny faces are in there, go and see if we got you ;)

Posted 14 years agoEF was really...WOW...but f*ck it's over already :'( Why is it so damn short? Time just flew by and everytime I think back on it, I get a smile on my face which almost instantly gets pulled away because it will be another year for the next EF
It was so great meeting old and new friend, I won't mention names because you know who you are, new and old friends from England, US, Sweden, Poland, Russia, etc. you are all amazing!! I really love that you meet up with people that you haven't seen for a year and it's like you've seen each other yesterday.
Also participated in the dance contest but failed because of nerves I guess. The rehearsals went amazing, but when it counted I forgot my moves and my timing was off =( Didn't practise enough but I will definately participate next year again, just need to practise more or just freestyle. I won't link the dance routine cuz it's embarrassing xD Thanks to all the people that thought I did good in the competition.
I'll also film the routine in fursuit so you can see how it was supposed to be, so keep a lookout for it!
Will definately see you next year! Be there!

Posted 14 years agoKnown this song for quite a while, but got some meaning now, listening to the flow and words giving me loads of energy everytime I listen to it.
Life seems to be going in the right direction =) Got the best boyfriend in the world whom I love to death, had the courage to talk to family and friends about having a boyfriend, made a promotion at work with room to go up even more. The only thing I need to tackle is finishing my school, which hangs above my head for quite a while. Hope this song will also help me with that ^^ BRING IT!
