Seeking Donations to the Charity Lottery
Posted 12 years agoDjurens Ö rescues and rehabilitate animals, based on unpaid volunteer work. Djurens Ö is this year's charity for NordicFuzzCon.
Being "furry" is many things, but one thing that virtually every furry shares is a passion for animals. Donating something to the charity cause is one way of showing passion for animals that need our help.
One of the charity events at NordicFuzzCon is the charity lottery. As an attendee, you can help the charity by buying lottery tickets. But if you are an artist, or someone who sell furry merchandise, you can help by donating something to the lottery.
You do not have to attend NordicFuzzCon to give something, as long as there is a way to get your donation to us in time for the convention.
If you want to contribute, or have any questions, please email: charity@nordicfuzzcon.org.
Thanks for reading!

Wanted: Artists for the Banner Brawl!
Posted 12 years agoNFC is looking for artists to participate in one of our main stage events. "Banner Brawl" is a fun game where two teams of artists battle it out on a large canvas.
The game consists of several rounds where one artist from each team has two minutes to sketch a given word onto the canvas, trying to make it fit in with what is already there from the previous rounds.
If you want more information, search for “Banner Brawl” on YouTube, and you will find recordings of the show done at other conventions. And the best bit? The canvases will be auctioned off for our charity!
If you're interested, please write an email to: events[at]nordicfuzzcon.org

Do you have a fursuit? Are you bringing it to NFC? Plz Read!
Posted 12 years agoOne of the events planned for NordicFuzzCon is the fursuit talent show. We want you to take a few minutes and think if this could be something for you to join! For a lot of people, a fursuit is a way to act, to be expressive, and to show off. For this, the fursuit talent show is perfect!
While it is, of course, amazing to see people who have prepared stunning acts that leave you baffled, the show is not reserved for those people. The basic goal of this is simply to have fun! Out of the 250 furries registered, nearly half have checked off that they are bringing their costume(s). We are SURE that amongst those 125 furs, there must be several that are itching to get on stage and show off!
Be creative! Be imaginative! If there is one thing furs are known to be, it is just that! Sing, dance, perform an act, or play an instrument. The stage is yours; we hope to see you on it!
To sign up for it, please send an email to: events[at]nordicfuzzcon.org with your nickname, your character name, and what kind of talent you wish to present.
See you there!

Registering for Dealers Den and the Art Show!
Posted 12 years agoIt's time for you anthro artists to register for your activities at NFC! The registration for Dealers Den and the Art Show is now up! For those of you who have not done this before, the Dealers Den is where artists sell their prints, crafts, take commissions, and generally chatter with their fans. The Art Show is where art is shown, and if desired, auctioned off. In the Art Show, the art is displayed without the artist being present. The Art Show and the Dealers Den take place in separate rooms.
To register for the Dealers Den, simply email dealersden[at]nordicfuzzcon.org and request a table. As space may be limited, we recommend that eager artists do not wait too long with doing so.
To get your art in the art show, you must first register the artwork online. Go to https://nordicfuzzcon.org, and log in with your credentials. In the control panel, you will find "Art submissions". Make sure to fill in all the fields, and decide how much of the auctioned price will go to charity. Any percentage from 0- to 100% can be selected!
Please note that these are places where you sell your own work, or work you have permission to sell!
Good luck getting your artwork ready for the con! :)
Yours sincerely,
PR. Duck.

Guest of Honour: Bryan Talbot
Posted 12 years agoThe NordicFuzzCon team is proud to present this year’s Guest of Honour: The award winning writer, illustrator and comic book artist Mr. Bryan Talbot!
Among other things, Bryan Talbot is the creator of the series of graphic novels called Grandville, which is a detective story that combines steampunk and anthropomorphic animals. That said, we assume any questions on why we have chosen him to be our Guest of Honour are answered. The books explore the story of a badger, Detective Inspector LeBrock, who works for Scotland Yard in a futuristic steampunk world.
More information can be found here -> https://nordicfuzzcon.org/Program/Goh

Posted 12 years agoWeb-site has undergone upgrading, and we are now happy to announce that the room share section is up and running. We know a lot of you have a select someone you want to share your room with, and have been eager to get this registered. And remember, if you and your room mate know someone that really wants to go, but have been out of luck getting a room, there is still a chance to help out. Check out https://nordicfuzzcon.org/Registration/ExtraBeds for information on adding an extra bed to twin and superior twin rooms.

Looking for DJ's for NFC 2014!
Posted 12 years agoIt's that time of year again! NordicFuzzCon is revving up and getting ready to roll out for 2014.
Want to help with the noise? We're now opening up applications for anyone out there that fancies spinning some tunes on the stage that everyone else can get down and boogie to, and make the night go with a bang!
If you fancy yourself as a DJ (anywhere from budding amateur to world-famous professional will do ;^) ) and would like to show us what you can do, then let us know!
We're planning to have a disco each night of the con, plus one for the dead dogs party, and each DJ would get a two-hour slot per event, this should provide a good mix of music throughout the night and hopefully there will be something for everyone.
If you're up for it then drop me a message here: dj[at]nordicfuzzcon.org
Let me know what kind of music you're planning on playing and some hint as to your level of expertise/experience in DJing. If you can send me a link to a sample of your mixing then that'd be great too, it's often easier to 'show and tell' than to try to explain in words.
If you have your own hardware then it'd be useful to let us know what you'll be bringing with you - there should be a 2-channel mixer on stage along with the usual hookups to the amps, and also a bunch of sound experts on hand to help get everything cabled up and sounding tip-top and dance worthy.
If you've any questions about any of this then feel free to drop a mail to the above address too and I'll answer as best I can, or I'll at least find someone who can answer ;)
-Fuzzy, NFC DJ Wrangler.

Posted 12 years agoWe are now open for submissions for NordicFuzzCon's 2014 conbook, and we would like to welcome all artists out there to send us your fuzztastic contributions! The theme for next year is – as you hopefully already know – a steampunk murder mystery. So make it steamy, murdery, and/or mysterious.

Possibility to add bed to twin and superior rooms!
Posted 12 years agoWe like to extend a big “thank you” to all those out there who want to attend NFC 2014! We are all overwhelmed by the incredible demand for rooms in our convention hotel. Since we have filled all the regular beds, we have been working with our hotel to offer some extra slots for you. As a result, we can now announce an extra 25 beds available! These can be added to either a twin or a superior twin room, converting them into 3-bed rooms – a process called “overbooking”.
If you want to make use of one of these extra beds, please follow these simple steps:
1) Find two attendees in one of the mentioned room categories (twin or superior) who are willing to share their room with you. You can, for example, try your luck through our official forum.
2) If you are not already registered, you need to do so at this point! Register for the category which has been booked by the people with whom you wish to share a room. If your bed is to be added to a twin room, then register for a twin room; if it is to be added to a superior room, register for a superior room.
3) You, and the two others with whom you wish to share room, must ALL send individual emails to registration@nordicfuzzcon.org, with the name and nicknames of all the people who want to share that room. This is to make sure that everyone involved is okay with adding an extra bed added to their room.
Here are the prices for overbooked rooms:
Twin room + extra:
1200 SEK per person for the three main nights, incl. breakfast
500 SEK per person for early or late arrival
Superior room + extra:
1300 SEK per person for the three main nights incl. breakfast
550 SEK per person for early or late arrival
Note that in superior rooms, the included items like bathrobes, are only provided for two people.
If you have already paid for your room and wish to share it with a third attendee, you will get the surplus amount back in cash when you check in at the convention.
The process cannot be completed unless we get emails from ALL three attendees involved, agreeing to overbooking their room with a 3-bed arrangement. Note that this will confirm your room share, which then cannot be changed at a later date.

NordicFuzzCon is looking for your event and panel ideas!
Posted 12 years agoDo you want to make NordicFuzzCon 2014 an awesome con? Do you want to make it as interesting as possible for your fellow furries out there? Then why not go ahead and run a panel during the convention. We are looking for attendees to run events in the areas of art, music, writing, performance or just something mysterious.
If you would like to run an event (or help to make something larger happen) please fill out our form which you can find in your "my account" page when you log in on our website. If needed we will come back to you and ask for more detailed information which may be needed for scheduling. If you have any questions please contact our team at events[at]nordicfuzzcon.org
NewEinstein
Head of Events
PS: If hosting an event is not something you feel like doing, our security team is also looking for volunteers. As a part of the security team, you would help keep the convention running hassle-free. And no, you would not be stationed as a guard from the time you arrive till the time you leave, but would help out for some hours during the con, and would be a regular attendee for the remainder of the time. If this sounds like something you could help with, security[at]nordicfuzzcon.org are the ones to write.

Rooms gone? There may still be hope.
Posted 12 years agoAs for now, all slots all the room categories are marked as taken. We do however encourage people who want to come, to register. There are waiting lists for the different room categories, and some rooms may yet free up. The sooner you register, the higher the chances are of snatching a room, should it become available.
I would like, though, to say a big thank you to everyone who has lined up to attend NordicFuzzCon#2014. The response has been overwhelming!

Credit card payments now accepted!
Posted 12 years agoWe are happy to announce that we can now accept credit card payments. As noted, PayPal invoices are no longer issued, and only direct bank transfers have been possible. We understand that this has not been a desirable situation for our non-Swedish guests especially, so we have been working hard to set up an alternative payment method.
When registering, you can now select between direct bank transfer, or Payson invoice. Upon receiving a Payson invoice, you can simply go to the "My Bookings" page, and click the "Pay" button. Payson invoices will enable you to pay with the following options
VISA
MasterCard
nternetbank Föreningssparbanken / Swedbank
Internetbank Handelsbanken
Internetbank Nordea
Internetbank SEB
The four last options are for Swedish customers in either of the above mentioned banks. Others will have to use the two first credit card options.
Note that if you do not have a credit card, and neither of these banks, the option to use direct bank transfer is still there.
Already have a PayPal invoice?
If you have a PayPal invoice, or choose to get a direct bank transfer invoice after PayPal was taken down, and would like to get a new Payson invoice to enable you to pay with credit card, please email
registration[at]nordicfuzzcon.org
Do not hesitate to email us if you have any questions regarding the registration or payment process!
Regards,

Credit card payment being implemented, downtime Sunday.
Posted 12 years agoTodays good news is that credit card payments will be accepted by NordicFuzzCon. To get the functionality added to the web site, the site has to undergo an upgrade. This upgrade will take place on Sunday. Don't be alarmed if the site is down that day, this is scheduled.
New registrations will be able to choose between direct bank transfer, or credit card option when paying.
Once the new payment option is up, more information will be posted. Please keep a look at our journals, or follow or twitter feed, to get the latest updates. And of course, if you have already paid your invoice, you just need to sit back, relax, and wait for the convention to start!

PayPal payments are no longer possible!
Posted 12 years agoPlease note that the following only applies to NEW registrations. This does not affect people who have already paid using PayPal. If you have, your do not need to take any actions.
We are very sorry to announce that PayPal payments will no longer be accepted for new registrations. The NordicFuzzCon PayPal account has been audited by PayPal. As a result of this audit, they will keep a large part of all your payments locked away until after NordicFuzzCon. They did this for their own safety, in case attendees issue refund requests.
We do, of course, need the money prior to the convention. The hotel, for instance, would quite like to be paid. For this reason, we hope people will understand that we can only accept payments using direct bank transfer for any new registrations.
We understand that this can be a bit more of a hassle for our guests from outside Sweden, but for most, it should not be too complicated. Most online banks offer an international payment option, or your bank office will be able to assist you in making the transfer. All the information you need to make the international bank transfer will be given on the invoice you will receive from us.
If you have already registered, and have selected to use the PayPal option, you will have received an invoice with the PayPal payment information. You should also by now have received, or will soon receive, an email explaining the situation, asking you to consider changing to direct bank transfer. If you have not received this, and want to help us by using bank transfer, please email us at registration@nordicfuzzcon.org.
Thank you!
The NFC Crew

Hotel rooms are filling up quickly!
Posted 12 years agoYesterday was a registration day unlike anything we expected. When the day came to an end, over 100 registrations had ticked in. As can be seen on the room counters on the web page, the amount of available rooms are going down quickly.
We appreciate that not everyone are able to put out the money needed to register for the con right away. But, if you really want to go, keep an eye on the room counter, so you will not loose out on getting your room. You can also take advantage the possibility to pay in several installments, so you do not have to put out all the money at once.
Again, we were really thrilled to see all the registrations coming in so quickly, and we are looking forward to seeing all of you next year! And, even if your registration is made, bill paid and badge number assigned, don't stop checking in on us here. There will be more important announcements coming up. New website upgrade with badge upload and room share, Guest of Honor announcement, and many other things.
You can follow us here, or add us on twitter, nordicfuzzcon . Important announcements will also be made on our newsletters, so be sure to sign up for those. We promise we will not spam you. Not too much anyway...

Regards,
Public Relations Duck.
It's registration time!
Posted 12 years agoFinally, the wait is over. Registration is open; go on and register now!
https://nordicfuzzcon.org/Registration/Register
We will again repeat that the badge numbers are assigned at payment time, and that we need to have the invoice number on the payment, so we know who paid. Payments are done via bank transfer of PayPal, with PayPal being the fastest way to pay. All the information you need will be given during registration time.
The prices listed for the different rooms are for one bed in the room. Exception being, of course, the single rooms, where the price is for the room itself. Unlike some registration systems where one person pays the room fully, and invites others to join the room, each person pays their share of the room here. Room-share will be available, so you can choose whom you want to stay with, but that is not implemented yet. After the upgrade scheduled for late October, you will be able to select your room partner(s).
But, hey? Why are you still reading this page? Go on, register! We are all exited about seeing who will come, so go on, get your ticket now! :)

To clarify, yes, there are two "Register" clicks. Registration for the actual con is not yet up, but you may create an account (register) for the website. This is done by using the "register" menu option on the top right. Different from how it is for some of the other big cons, you do not need to create a new account every year. If you registered for NordicFuzzCon 2013, you use the same login details this year. If you have forgotten your password, please use the following link:
https://nordicfuzzcon.org/Account/ResetPassword
As before, we suggest you watch us here, or follow us on twitter (@nordicfuzzcon) to get the latest information. Like, when the actual con registration opens!
