I need your opinions! Also, commissions <3
Posted 15 years agoSo, I am getting situated in a new apartment right now. Very busy with this, and I have nothing there- barely any furniture, no internet or phone or TV, just a bunch of my stuff and me. It's nice, the land is gorgeous(main reason I took the place, next to wanting to be off campus) and I love the birding opportunities here and such, BUT I am in a huge financial fiasco because I have no money for food or anything, and I could really, really use some help there.
The way it works is that my financial aid for school will give me money for room and board whether or not I live on campus. My school is currently taking FOREVER to process that information though, and is refusing to give me money for another week. I had to borrow for rent, which I felt horrible about, but I promised to back it all back the moment the school gives me money which will hopefully be in another week and not too much longer. So! Yeah, I could really use some commissions if anyone can spare the money and wants some art!
ANYWAY.
Off of the financial subject, I am so done with it.

I am trying to design some sonas to represent my partner and I. My partner has a preference for tigers and bears, and I am sort of an all out animal person. I have an affinity with catamounts, grey foxes, owls and jackals or hyenas. Really, anything. I can't quite decide what would be cute, so I thought I'd ask for opinions!
What would you like to see me draw?
What do you think would be nice for a cute couple?
I'll give you a few key points of us two that I want to portray in these sonas.
My partner is a tall, big guy. He's been working for years in the woods. He is essentially a lumberjack kind of guy, with a love for good beer, trees, chainsaws and hiking. I am a tomboy kind of girl, and while I am smaller than him, I am tall for most girls, and a bit more toned up than he is. I have a love for working with my hands and learning as much as I can about the natural world. I love observing, drawing, good beer, travel, and odd activities to stay in shape.
I don't know what to do! Gimme ideas :3 Tentative names are Lyn and John(our middle names) but I feel like that is kind of LAME.

In other news... Working on some trades/gifts, passing the time. Commissions are still as open as ever(http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1391015/) and much appreciated since I am moving into my first apartment on my own this upcoming saturday, and I'll be needing all the financial help I can get!
Also, I am still ever so thankful for all the watches, and it has really been inspiring me to draw more <3 Once I get settled, there are going to be a few hectic days with little internet as I get used to the new place, and enjoy a few days with my partner before he leaves for Europe for a month to study. After that, I'll be without internet in the homestead until I know I can afford it(Which might not be until the fall) but I will have internet nearby and my scanner hooked up at home so that I can update and get refs during the day, then work on art and homework all night.
Expect the first few updates from this break in a week. :3

for pimping me out and everyone that in turn came to watch me! I am unbelievably flattered by every new watcher, and every comment I've seen on my work. I am so thankful, and I am still making my way through to look at every artist that watched me!
I promise I'll get more artwork up here and be more active now. I don't have my scanner with me right now, but once I move into my apartment and get settled, I'll be able to scan work and go to the library to borrow wifi and upload things.
By the by, since there is no internet in my new apartment(and won't be for a while, sorry! too much travel to pay for it now) I am still looking for commissions to work on!

Please Help Me!!!
Posted 15 years agoThrough a digital mishap, someone has been charging fees to my checking account that tipped me over the edge and overdrew my account. I was not informed of this immediately, and was charged not only by the bank, but by this fee again!
I have already racked up $205 worth of debt here, and while hopefully I can get my money reimbursed for the fees, which were only $15 each(which shows how unbelievably poor I am as a college student....), I probably can't get the overdraw take back. I have overdrawn with TD Bank before, and they rarely understand for me.
Anyway, I will DRAW ANYTHING for any amount of money you can spare to send my way!!! This is very important to settle soon so that I do not get another overdraw charge, so even if you can't spare anything but you like my art, please show my work to others. I will even mail art out if you really want it, and I promise my prismacolors and inking looks a lot better in real life.
Please help me out if you can. I need to get a financially footing here so I can move on to tackle a few other things I need to pay as well, such as the $200 game camera that belonged to my college and got stolen from me, so I need to replace it. Ugh. Stupid college in the middle of nowhere, keeping me from finding a job!
Thanks so much to anyone that can do anything to help. I really appreciate it, and I don't know what I will do if I can't make some money off my art.

Update. Art Trades?
Posted 16 years agoI keep meaning to update things here, then I get distracted.
So, here's the low down on how life is, and why I lack art updates.
I'm working part time in retail, trying to get enough money for a new car because mine... is a death trap. I am trying to snag another job or two(I think the pet store liked my application, and Denny's is hiring... *crosses fingers hopefully*) to pay for the things I need, but it's tough.
Commissions are OPEN if anyone wants to get any art from me.
I'm also looking to open some art trades to get my work out there. I have big plans for the near future, something that is going to need a lot of funding, so... If you're interested, let's get this going! I want to draw for folks, and eventually work up a store so I can start funding this future of mine.
By the by, the new Mars Volta album, Octahedron, is amazing, and deserves a listen. It is inspiring my new fursona that I will be releasing soon, who will kind of replace Norms. Not really replace, so much as be... more similar to me. So, there's something to look forward to.

Posted 16 years agoQuick updates. Life is alright, per usual. College has raped all of my resources, and I'm still in debt to them, so I've given up and now I'm taking out a loan to pay for the rest I can't afford. Goodbye, fruitful future where I'm not paying off loans forever. So it goes.
I have been making the best of things, though, and I'm taking quit a few interesting classes this semester which I am enjoying. I've also been searching for internships, and at this point in time I'm hoping to nab one in Ireland. I'd like to travel while I'm young, so why not now and get credit for it? So that's been my agenda. Most likely I'm gonna end up with an internship somewhere like Colorado though. That's a little easier for me to get to.
Now, since college has raped my money pocket and this loan is processing... I still need money. I know it seems like I don't post much art and I'd be a pain to commission, but the honesty of it is that I hate posting sketches, and that's mostly what I draw, since I never have the inspiration to finish. I need new things to draw, new inspiration!
So come one, come all... and feel free to inquire about commissions!
