Max? Where's Nos?!

Hey Everyone!
This is just mostly going to be an update which hopefully explains a bit more about the changes I've made to my accounts and sona.
I've now been active within the fandom for almost 10 years now. It's a long time! When I started I really didn't have an idea of how I should present myself and who I should be, so I went with a very quick "placeholder character" while I thought up something better. Ultimately I quite liked him so I just kept him around. However it was very difficult to personally engage with things since I didn't feel much of a connection to this dragon and that lowered my enthusiasm.
After years of knowing some really lovely people, it really allowed me to explore what I wanted from the fandom and what I really enjoyed. And that was big, muscular horse studs! Having played as a horse for a while I really loved the idea of it and eventually thought I should fully make the change and have a massive horse as a primary OC!
The increase of my productivity as being Max has already been astounding. I will try my best (he says, once again) to maintain some level of consistency with uploads. I'll be using PostyBirb to try and spread things out a bit more. It also helps that I've finally got medication for my ADHD.
Is Nos still around? Yes! I will not be changing any of the usernames of my accounts - I will still be going by nostracon and I will sign all my pics as Nos. So in a sense he's still here. Will the character be though? Perhaps! I still have affection towards him so he may come up intermittently.
Do you exclusively talk IC as Max? No. Although I'm now more likely to talk IC as him, I still talk OOC most of the time. But I've talked as most of my OCs before. I'm not exclusive. It just feels nice to be Max!
Will you ever open up for commissions? Possibly. I've always been nervous about commissions because I don't want to let people down with a patchy drawing schedule. Getting prices right is also a whole challenge since my "style" (if you can call it that) feels all over the place. If I can prove to myself that I can draw and upload consistently, then I may think about commissions (however I may keep it among people I know at first just so I can test my system with people who may be more forgiving and honest with me). I'll obviously be sure to let people know across platforms if this is going to happen!
Any big plans? My biggest plan so far is to do a growth drive of some description. How I'll organise this is still something to think about, but really pushing my limits with how big I can get someone does sound very fun. Other than that, I've got lots of ideas of what to do with Max so I'll try to get those out in an attempt to catch myself back up to speed with drawing after over a whole year (!!!) without posting anything.
I do hope everyone is keeping well otherwise!

Art/writing update
Posted 5 years agoI had hoped to have spent the last couple of weeks focusing on my drawing over my writing - I had some busy things lined up with work and I knew I would never have been able to sit down for long enough and write properly. However because of some ongoing tech issues I'm having with my graphics pad, I'm essentially unable to draw anything on my PC. I was hoping these would have been remedied by now, but clearly they are far too complex for the customer service team! x3 This is pretty dissapointing because I've got a whole ream of stuff that's either partially drawn or planned that I'd love to work on. I've even got a couple of gifts for friends who have now been waiting for several months for their work (I really appreciate your patience!)

An update part 2 (Less important stuff)
Posted 5 years agoIt's probably best if you read my previous journal first - it really needed to be made seperately. Here's just a quick update about what's happening with my life and with my art:
Firstly, I want to say thank you to everyone who watches me on here. I thought it would be a challenge to get twenty people to enjoy my art, let alone over two hundred! You have no idea how much I appreciate it given how bad I am at uploading stuff. In January, I made myself a promise to post something every month, but I've quite clearly not been very successful! This is mainly because lockdown and working from home have been messing with my routine (but also because I'm slow!)
You also might have noticed I'm starting to draw! I've always wanted to make visual art and I'm using lockdown as an opportunity to practice. Although I'll try to write and draw at the same time, I don't know how efficient I will be.
However my new hobby goes, the next thing to look out for is a long-overdue story for a friend. Though I must warn you it will be a bit grosser than usual!
I should also mention that my Twitter handle is nostracon. Feel free to follow if you want - I will generally post my art and WIPs there before FA.

An update part 1 (#BLM + Charities + Resources)
Posted 5 years agoAlthough I had only intended to make an long overdue update on my channel today, I felt it would be improper not to start with an acknowledgement of what's happening across the world and to clarify my position:
Black lives matter! They have always mattered and will continue to matter until systemic racism (specifically anti-black racism) is finally brought to an end. The shocking death of George Floyd has clearly shown that decades of non-violent resistance has done little to change the state of society. These worldwide protests are completely justified, and should be supported until tangible changes are made to our governance and culture.
It's also important to remember the countless black people who will be struggling even more at the moment: black women, black queer folk, black trans folk, black neurodivergent folk, etc. Their voices are often drowned out during times like this, so make an effort to listen to what they have to say.
For those outside the US (like me), it's easy to convince ourselves that this level of racism is just an "American" problem. This is false. Every country has its own unique pattern of racism, and it's important to take the time to recognise how these differ. For example, I've spent this week listening to the podcast "About Race, with Reni Eddo-Lodge." It's does a great job at explaining the quirks of British racism and how to tackle it. Reni also wrote the book "Why I am no longer talking to white people about race" which I have ordered (not from Amazon!) and hope to read next week.
If you want to donate some money, there are many charities around who are making a difference. Obviously I cannot list them all, but here are some that I've donated to:
- Minnesota Freedom Fund (US)
- Black Lives Matter UK (UK)
- Campaign Against Arms Trade (UK)
I encourange everyone to do what they can to help, and to take the time to educate yourselves on what's happening and how it's affecting people. Black creators have already done a fantastic job with vidoes, blogs, books and podcasts - all you need to do is search for it!

Almost there...

I know it's been a couple of months of inactivity, but this is just to let y'all know that I'm still here and still writing. I've been at university at the moment, and I've had to put my work first, but I'm still able to write a few times a week.
Just a quick teaser:
We've got an unfortunate work day for the dragontaur Venio up first. Following that, we have the giant, vore-y wolf Alvaro who's trying (not very successfully) to put his destructive self behind him, and lastly we have a tale of what happens when a hyper drinks too much booze and can't find a toilet!
This should keep my busy for the next few months, I won't be able to say anything about my commissioning status until then, sadly :c
I hope you enjoy what I've got lined up for the time being though!

Just an update as to what I'm doing

Hey all!
Thanks for all the great feedback on my latest story; after having to do a lot of life organisation, it was wonderful to hear that I hadn't lost my touch!
I just thought it was high time for me to give a few updates on what's happening and how my page is changing in the near future (don't worry, it's not anything drastic!).
Although I love the idea of making requests for folks, I feel that having other people come to me and writing something for them leaves me in a bit of a motivation vacuum (or an actual, equivalent phrase that escapes me for the moment!). Doing those requests before was genuinely fun, but I often found myself in a position where I didn't have much incentive to carry on writing. This is not a reflection on any of the requesters at all, it's just my weird brain doing it's thing!
Since I don't as yet feel confident enough to open up commissions (through both lack of experience and lack of knowledge as to how to do it!) I have had to find another strategy:
REVERSE REQUESTS!
(idk, that's just what popped into my head :p )
In my (albeit short) time on this website, I've come across loads of folks who's work and characters I really appreciate. Rather than offer people to request me to do something, I have instead offered my services to those people so that I can use their characters in one of my stories.
Since I have no monetary drive to keep on keeping on, I feel this is the next best thing. I also enjoy the idea of being able to write something for people I really admire on this site, which is something I've never had the opportunity to do anywhere before.
I must stress that this is not because I'm somehow 'better' than the people I was writing for before, or that they are somehow 'not worthy' of my effort. That really isn't what I'm trying to get across. I will just feel far more encouraged to produce work when I have a modicum of choice in what I'll be writing. That's why I have agreed to produce work for people who I know will have similar fetishes to me as well as having audiences with similar fetishes to me. I only want to give people like you a better chance of enjoying my work by giving you a steadier supply of stories for you to read.
So far I have been in contact with three wonderful guys who seem to be as eager to do this as me and it will be their stories that I'm focusing on at the moment. Hopefully tomorrow, I will put some progress indicators on my profile to keep you all in the loop as to what is happening.
For those of you who are interested in requesting/commissioning me - I will unfortunately have to disappoint you for the time being :c I am still a very new artist here and I'm still trying to get my footing with regards to my writing and I am confident that this is the best step forward for me to take. I am still planning to fully open up for commissions some day, but unfortunately today is just not that day. Keep an eye out for my journals and you'll be the first to know about any progress with this plan...
In any case, look forward to at least three new, sexy stories coming your way!

Things fell through and I'm sorry :( (Request status info)

Once again, I have to say I'm sorry for not getting anything out. In short I can say that life got very real, very quickly and as such I am taking a break from university for a while. This series of events has meant that I haven't been able to write at any length at all over the past month or so.
I am uncertain as to how well I'll be able to focus on writing on the next few weeks, but I want to give it a try. As you can see from my (rather inactive) status list on my profile, I have already started on
ShatteredMoon's story and I'm actually very near the finishing/editing stage (as much as you will be able to believe that). Due to the uncertainty of what's around the corner, I am going to have to stop progress on the other three requests and focus my attention on finishing the one I have already started as well as actual, y'know, life things.
I'm sorry if this is a disappointment for any of the other requesters, but I can assure you would have only had to wait even longer and possibly not get anything anyway. This was an experiment on my part to see how well I can cope with writing other people's stuff, but clearly circumstance has had the better of me and it didn't work out to well.
To recap, I will finish ShatteredMoon's story (if that is still okay with them) and then concentrate on my own work, which I know I can do well and not have to work to deadlines.
I will also probably not be doing any more requests/commissions in the nearish future, and even if I do, I will probably only do one at a time.
Once again, I apologise if I wasn't able to get your request done, but if there's one thing I've realised from being on this site, it's that there are many very talented writers that are easily as good as me (and most of whom are better!) so I'm sure you will be able to work something out!

I've been fairly occupied by dissertation work that I need to get organised before I go back to university in the next couple of days. I didn't quite expect it to take up so much time, but it did, so I'm left with very little opportunity to complete any of the requests you have given me.
I haven't given up though! I actually now aim to get them all completed by the end of the year. Since they've all been planned out, I simply have to put pen to paper and work out the prose, which is normally my favourite part!
As a quick update, I can say that I'm approximately half way through my first story, which is looking to be one of the longer ones on my request list. Keep an eye out, since I'm hoping it's going to drop in the next couple of weeks! :D

As of right now, I will be opening up four, yes, four REQUEST slots that I will attempt to finish over the remainder of the summer.
You may be wondering why, on this site which priorities the talents of an artist above all else, I will be offering my literary skills away for free to some lucky people rather than as a commission. This is a reasonable query and I shall attempt to answer it:
1. As an artist who is just starting out on FA, you will see that my gallery is particularly bare. I wish to amend this. I want to show as many people as possible what I can do and that involves writing many different stories about many different subjects. I pride myself on being able to write an idea reasonably quickly, but I sorely lack the ability to come up with original ideas at the same pace. I know that you readers combined will have a much greater depth of imagination than I do, so I will entrust you with creating some unique sketch plots!
2. I am but a new writer, reaching out my writing fingers into a big new world. I want to gain the experience of interacting with people to come up with something good, but I do not feel confident enough in my work allow commissions. This, I feel is the only logical step for me to practice. (I am also not put under the unnecessary pressure of having to do something for money)
Now I feel I should lay out a few ground rules:
1. This is primarily a chance for me to get some more practice writing in both different forms and of different lengths, rather than for you to get your rocks off. Therefore, I will have the final say on the final content and structure of the work. I will try my very best to keep it as close to your request as possible, but if I feel something would work better in a different way then I will change it so it fits my final idea. For example: I may cut out significant parts of your request because I feel that your idea would work better as a short story rather than a medium-length story. Remember, this is a favour that I am giving you. Not the other way around!
2. Do not be unreasonable with your requests, or it's just not going to happen! If you don't know what would be considered unreasonable, then ask. I am not as scary as I may look :)
3. Be SPECIFIC with your request. I want to know as much as possible about what you want so I can work with it. If you are vague with what you want, then I will have to fill in the gaps with my imagination. This may of course leave you disappointed with the final result because it wasn't what you had in mind. Do not be offended if I bluntly ask you to give me more details!
4. Do not expect me to be able to write everything. I would say I am liberal with my fetishes, but there may be something that even I won't write. If you let me know what you want, then I will be able to say whether I will do it or not. Once again, I will say I have absolutely no obligation to write anything!
5. Do not pressure me about timings. These will take as long as they need to take. If you are overly irritating because you are asking me about when it's going to get finished, then I will simply not write your story.
INSTRUCTIONS:
If you want me to do a request for you, then sent me a NOTE which clearly asks for one. You may want to include some things that you want included. Feel free to do this! By using the notes system, I will be able to set up a dialogue with you so that we can get something done! I will not answer any requests put to me through comments or shouts.
I will take these on a first come first serve basis. I will try to get back to you in a day whether you are successful or not. Once all the slots are filled I will send out another journal entry saying so, but I don't know how quickly this will happen, so try not to be too disappointed if you don't get one.
If you get a slot, I will then start to have a conversation with you. If you do not reply to my notes, then I will have not choice but to drop you in favour of the next person in line.
I will be going to sleep now and I will check my notes in the morning (I'm in the UK), don't expect me to get back to any of you before then.
This will be the one and only time I will do this, so try not to miss out!
