My Birthday is coming!!!!
Posted 8 years agoHey, long time no speak (or update lol).
I have moved to a new city for that teaching job I took and so far it's been an exhausting but interesting adventure. I've been warned that my first year would be like that, and I'd have little time to do much. I guess, in a way, it's good I didn't have many takers for my previous commissions.
I just got through parent teacher conferences and I feel they went really well. Today one of my students was being non-compliant in class and, to be frank, kind of a butt while I was trying to teach (her and 2 others at the same time, which was not helping). She came to me tonight on her own to apologize for her behavior and we hugged and made up. That helped improve a long day, for sure. Each day has been a roller coaster not unlike that, especially this week.
And this weekend I'm moving into my apartment finally so I'm going to be so busy and beat!
That being said, I hope it's not too greedy of me to mention, but if anyone wanted to give my Birthday a real pick-me-up, I'd love some gift art. You can draw any of my OCs or any depiction of my personas (gemsona, fursona, just....me lol).
They can even be late (my Birthday is on Wednesday).

Posted 8 years agoSo I've been wanting do art more often and although I am quite busy as a first year teacher, not doing art is driving me nuts XD
So I've decided what I'll do is I'll open up 3 slots at a time to do some quick and colorful lineless avatars not unlike my current one:

Also, I may be open to doing a simple 2-4 frame animation for $15 extra (like drooling or blinking eyes if you're into that sort of thing :) )

Posted 8 years agoSo I've been holding off on sharing this as anything official until I was absolutely certain, but now I can. Basically, about a month ago, after applying and applying for teaching jobs not just in Wyoming, but in Colorado too, I got two interviews set up. Both ended up going with other candidates with more experience, which is totally understandable as I would be a first year teacher. What was really neat is that one of the schools called me back to tell me that I impressed them a lot, and the principal told me over the phone to keep applying and hang in there because I'm going to do great wherever I landed. I was just blown away by those kind words and have continued to apply.
Well, a week ago, that principal called again and told me that the other candidate could not take the position due to personal reasons, and she asked if I was still interested. I told her that I was but that I was not sure if I could move to Colorado in time to fill the position because the school year was just around the corner. Well, long story short, we kept in contact, I asked around from my friends to see if anyone knew of a place I could stay until I landed on my feet, and as it turns out, I have a friend living in that area of Colorado who has been looking for a roommate to move to an apartment! So, with a place to stay planned, I accepted the job.
Today, I got a call from HR officially offering me the job, and I'll be moving down tomorrow to set up at my friend's parent's house until we find our own apartment. It's going to be pretty hairy for a while, but the good news is that I have finally got my foot through that proverbial door, and will be teaching middle school to art students. I get to see my classroom Friday, and the first day of school is on the 8th. Everything is moving incredibly fast and I wish I had a little more time to process it all, but life happens and I'm just gonna go with it :)
What this means in terms of my art is, I will try to keep creating because I'm going to need something to detox with, but I'm going to finish my commissions and then accept no more until I get my feet under me again. I will be quite busy, and likely look like a headless chicken running around lol but hey, this is all a start!
Wish me luck for my first year teaching, any tips from fellow teachers are always appreciated, otherwise, that's my big news!

Posted 8 years agoSo I am working as a fence guard for my local fair and when I'm not telling the rare hooligan to get off the fence, I'm doing nothing but sitting. Figured I could do something engaging with my time and wanted to try this out!
Basically, I'm doing $5 waist up commissions, can be of anything: OCs, Fursonas, fanart, you name it and I'll give it my best! Just note me with references and what you want and we can go from there!!! :)

Posted 8 years agoTo all....uh... *opens new tab to look*... 3 of my followers on here, I guess I'm coming out to announce that I'm going to add some of my art on FA. I think everyone of you follows me on dA, though, so it's not going to be anything fancy or new? n_n;
That being said, I'm going to spam my furry art here because I figure it couldn't hurt to put it here :) Sorry for all the submissions lol
The FA community is new to me but I understand it's mighty fun so hello, hi, I've been a lurker until now, and maybe this will be a thing? IONNO
Honestly, I still feel a little nervous about this since I'm not primarily a furry artist, it's like I'm sneaking in as a spy and when the truth comes out I will be hunted down and stuffed in a potato sack for my trespass. JOKES ON THEM, THOUGH, because I live in a state that doesn't exist, and that's the best conspiracy here :D GOOD LUCK FINDING ME!
