Many thanks to everyone who reached out to offer advice on my last post. I've got a solution (well, two solutions) that are working for me right now, and I thought I'd share them:


1. Scripts

This Github site has scripts you can use to get around IP-based bans. They have been updated as the situation evolves, and may not work forever, but they work for now: https://gist.github.com/mary-ext/6e.....8808ad528b3318


2. Bluesky Forks

Several forks of Bluesky exist that are unaffected by the IP-based bans. However, they lack any and all updates that have been made since the fork, and the only ones I have been able to get working have some pretty bugged notifications. 3. VPNs

A lot of folks mentioned VPNs, which are not an ideal solution for me for a variety of personal reasons I'd rather not get into. But it seems like ProtonVPN has a free option one could use, and several current users have recommended either it or NordVPN as an option. For what it's worth.


These are temporary, possibly ephemeral, solutions. The only real solution is political change and the removal of fascists, zealots, and the spineless from political power.

Thanks to a stupid and unconstitutional law made by my state, my IP is now blocked from BlueSky. B'sky had been my social media platform of choice due to its lack of Nazis, and I had been steadily transferring most of my online activity over there, so to say that this is an unwelcome development would be an understatement.

It's my hope that, either through the law being declared unconstitutional or me managing to get a VPN set up, that I will eventually get back on the site. But for now I'm blocked, and I can't even put up a post explaining the situation. I've really tried to be a force for positivity over there, and tried to boost folks who my reach could help.

This is why I urged you all to vote blue 10 months ago, folks. The censorship is coming for us all, and you can't even be sure where you stand from one moment to the next.

I just wanted to thank everyone who shared their stories, their thoughts, or their fears with me on the heels of my last upload and journal article. I know in my heart that there wasn't much I could have done on the grand scale of things, but I still feel like I let everyone down.

Trying to get back into the groove of writing before I tackle a writing commission, so I wrote a little dragoness transformation practice story! Be warned, it's a tiny bit more explicit than my usual writing:

I’ve been writing some practice pieces to get back in the groove for a commission, and it’s resulted in some stuff I rather like! But in a departure from my usual modus operandi, there’s no accompanying art, so I can’t post the writing in my traditional style.

What should I do?

A. Post it with no art.
B. Sit on it until I can hire someone to illustrate.
C. Post it on a writing-only site (like AO3) until I can hire an illustrator.
