Writing...
General | Posted 15 years agoNever mind that squalling. It's just my muse trapped in the washing machine on spin cycle. The other day when I was suppose to be loading rock core samples, my brain was working overtime for a few new story ideas. It started when I got into a...disagreement...with my coworkers over the fact that I lift heavier things for fun than the boxes of rock cores some people insist on lifting for me. It reminded me of my on-going, one-person crusade to put more kick-arse female characters out there, especially in science fiction and fantasy. And I'm not talking about female-wrestler sized sissies who in their supposed years at command never learned how to wield a blaster right, or the fact that a clothing size of 0 makes for a warrior that NO ONE can take seriously.
Alas, some of the fanfics I have been reading, especially work by the supremely talented Pinkuh http://www.furaffinity.net/user/pinkuh/
...have urged me to add a certain....realism...for lack of a PG-rated term...to my stories. If I can get past an utter lack of self esteem, I might post some.
Maybe after another drink.... ;)
PS I appologize for the link formatting.
