Impregnating Life! (Good Morning Atlanta)
General | Posted 13 years ago Hello all, I am up extra early (2:10 am now) to make sure I catch the 3:50 am bus from Montgomery to ATL. Arrival time in ATL is an early 7:35 with just a short walk down the street to the lovely Peachtree Plaza Westin hotel. I hope to see you there and make more fun FWA memories again this year!
PS: Oh, Life, your so sexy. I wanna make some sexy memory babies with you!

FWA one more week!
General | Posted 13 years agoIt'll be hard to contain my excitement over the next few days, but I'm so glad I'll be arriving in Atlanta exactly a week from now (actually probably 15 minutes less than a week). Yay! *runs around and dances stopping to hug everyone*

RCFM 2012
General | Posted 13 years ago I am really glad that I was able to go to RCFM. This was actually only my second convention ever (the first being FWA). Really, this was rather small and quiet, but it was a great vacation among furry friends!
The previous year, I had this dream that I made a deal with
aerinpierce that I would pay if they would drive. After mentioning this dream, we both seemed to like the idea (as I was willing to pay for us both in order to make it to at least one con). Time passed, and there were many moments where it looked as though we wouldn't be able to go through with it, but ultimately it turned out we could do this after all.
So, we met up thursday, and woke up early friday morning. On the trip up, I pointed out there was a town called "Jumbo" off the interstate, and jokingly suggested that we should stop and see if there are shirts that say something like "everything's bigger in Jumbo!" Apparently. I was the only one that found that (as well as some other odd place names) funny. But, it went by surprisingly quickly, even if my boredom induced antics(such as headbanging to a really chill song and pointing out place names like "tater knob" on the map) were rather annoying.
We got there! Unfortunately, we couldn't check in until 3pm, and it was around 9:30am! I was covered in cat hair and sweet, and I wanted a shower, I wanted to change, and I wanted to get registered. Still, we met some awesome people from the very start.
After Finally getting registered, checked in, showering, changing, and then going to opening ceremonies, we both went our separate ways for the majority of the convention. For the most part, I just hung out and met several furs. And why not, it was a great con for hanging out and making friends!
Who did I meet? Well, I met quite a few people, and I may try to list those, I can remember later

Looks like I'm going to RCFM!
General | Posted 13 years agoIt was kinda last minute, but I'm going. I'm s excited!
Noooo!!
General | Posted 13 years agoMy netbook slipped out of my paws and fell two or three feet. Now I can't see in the screen at all. It doesn't really seem practical to have to use a monitor for a netbook, so it looks like I'll have to get a replacement. Of coarse, I think I'll get something better than a netbook this time (and hope I don't drop it ^^; ).
I had a really fun weekend at at FWA!
General | Posted 13 years ago This has been my first convention period, let alone my first fur con. It was really fun, even if I was so overwhelmed and left rather exhausted from all the awesomeness. Despite not being social enough to have met very many of the myriad of new faces, I really enjoyed meeting those I did meet as well as seeing the very few I already knew there.
As a matter of fact, I cannot stress enough how epic it was in as well as out of the convention! From running into 2 in the stairwell at the hotel (much to the envy of a friend who couldn't make it) to seeing a four floor zigzag of elevators at a nearby mall (something I've seen nothing like in Montgomery), and from the fursuit dance competition to hanging out with a friend haven't met in two years, it was pure awesome! To add to that there was a St. Patrick's Day parade and an anime convention going on close by, so the streets were full of Furries, Otaku, and people wearing kilts(though I think of kilts as more of a Scottish than Irish thing, even if the Scotts are not the only ones to wear kilts) and/or various St. Patrick's themed shirts.... it was truly a glorious sight to behold! My roommates seem to think they creeped me out or something, but to be honest, if I knew what I knew now, I would still have them as roommates.
Of coarse this awesome convention had to end, and I had to leave the fun(though panhandler ridden) city of Atlanta. Now I sit here with with my first post-con depression. In addition, I saw so many fursuits at FWA that I keep expecting anyone wearing a brightly colored shirt in my peripheral vision to be a fursuiter, but alas, I turn my head and it's only a brightly colored shirt! And so the mundane world reasserts itself upon me as life marches on to a decidedly boring drumbeat...

so excited!
General | Posted 14 years agoIt's not too much longer until FWA, which will be my first con. Even though, I didn't know I was able to go until just a few weeks before, things have turned out pretty well. Now that it's getting closer, the days feel longer, and it gets harder and harder to contain my excitement (let's hope I don't feel TOO overwhelmed by the time I get there though ^^; ).
This ought to be an adventure.
General | Posted 14 years ago I've decided to take the bus to Atlanta to get to FWA. I'm not sure how I'll sleep, eat, or get a ride home(well, not ALL THE WAY home). As a matter of fact, it would be much wiser not to go. Still, my sense of adventure compels me. I think I could gain some valuable life experience from any complications, and so, I will embrace them with open arms.
I must say, I actually feel exited to face the challenges to getting there! I'll prove to myself I can make it! I feel invincible right now!

Looking for a ride to FWA (on such short notice)
General | Posted 14 years agoAs it turns out I can go to FWA. Now how to get there....
I'm doing free art again.
General | Posted 14 years agoSo, I've decided to do some more free art, as long as it's more or less clean(a little suggestive is ok).Reply here and/or PM me to let me know! Also, if it helps, I have a the same username on DA (though I haven't been using it as often), so I could upload there too if you like. If you want share email via for seeing the work in progress, and receiving the final that's fine, and if not that's fine. I'll need a link to the ref(s) and to know what you want with the picture.
nervous(nothing major)
General | Posted 14 years ago Just feeling a little nervous lately. Maybe it's the change of the seasons, yet it's still disappointingly warm and humid here. Maybe it's seeing all the Christmas stuff out already, and realizing how much of a hurry everyone is, and if they are in a hurry, are they pushing for a shorter life? Maybe it's that I realize I'm already slightly more than a quarter way into my life if I live to the average life expectancy.
Fall?
General | Posted 14 years agoOk, you probably know today is the first day of Autumn. You probably know about the satellite. Well, I hope it's a good fall. (PUNS!)
Free art
General | Posted 14 years agoI'm willing to do some free art so long as it's clean (although I may do some fetishes so long as they aren't too obvious).
In the near future...
General | Posted 14 years agoI'll be doing some free art
*pant pant*
General | Posted 14 years ago Two days of nearly nonstop coloring (well, I had to rest my eyes, sleep, eat, wait on a computer that kept freezing up, and stare vacantly into the fridge wishing there was more bacon)! If all goes right maybe I'll get to post it. Seems like forever, but at least I'm ahead of deadline.
One year anniversary of being on FA!
General | Posted 15 years ago Today, is my one year anniversary for being on FA! Of coarse, it was the previous year that I came into the fandom on that boring summer evening. It's in no way a unique story though. Still, this is a good time to reflect on coming into the fandom.
It was late June in the summer of '09. I was on the computer randomly surfing the web to try and entertain myself. Eventually, I came across a Wikifur article, but I didn't pay that much attention to it at first, except for looking up a web comic that was mentioned.
Not long afterward, the thought popped into my head: "wait, what is Wikifur?" Of coarse, after finding out what that was, I had to find out what a furry was. The word sounded familiar. Hmmm.... Where have I seen the word furry? Wait, I remember.... someone on a forum I had been on had something about that in a banner in their sig! Basically, the banner stated that furries weren't necessarily fetishists or fursuiters, just people that liked animals. That sounds nice and harmless.
I looked it up on the internet too. Naturally, there were a lot of negative ideas about furries, but those sounded like stereotypes (although I kept in mind that "every rumor has a grain of truth"). Besides that, I figured that a furries definition of a furry was more believable since they know who they are. There still wasn't one exact definition, but I came to understand a furry as a fan of anthropomorphic animals who often uses an animal character as an identity in the fandom or for role playing.
During the next couple months I decided that I liked this, and started trying to draw anthros. This was a challenge for me because, before that, I've only drawn inanimate objects from RL or photos. Because of this I did two things to learn a) try and draw from photos of real animals instead of lifeless objects and 2)look up how to draw anthros to learn the process. I tended to notice a difference between drawing what I say and drawing what I couldn't see: while drawing what I could see, I needed to look from one angle, and break the image from my viewpoint into 2d shapes to put it on paper, but to draw something I couldn't see, I had to think in terms of 3d shapes in order to visualize it properly and to feel the volume.
It wasn't until September that, actually knew another furry (online or IRL), or, at least that I knew that I knew another furry. I met up with a friend from high school on day outside of a supermarket. At some point in the conversation I brought up that I've been drawing as a hobby, and listed off some things that I've drawn (or have tried to). I casually included anthros in that list. From there, I found out that they are a fan of that type of art, and it seems to me that we were suddenly closer friends.
After that, it wasn't until January that I came into contact with other furries on the internet, and also it wasn't until then that I started on FA. However, In the spring time, I did get to send (snail mail) letters to a friend I met online in the fandom. Also, I was chatting with another fur, and it turned out that we were very close by at that very moment! Sometime after that, I had set up to meet two others at the mall. Later that day, while hanging out, yet another fur found out. So I ended up meeting three furs that day.
For the most part though, not much has happened since then. I still have yet to go to a con, and I still know very few people in the fandom. Regardless, I'm glad I was bored that one June night over a year ago.

Well, I don't need the duct tape anymore....
General | Posted 15 years agoThat is, the duct tape for the lamp on the wall. Well, I got tired and nailed it there, but that's not the reason. Why then? Now have a tablet to draw with! (Yay! no more searching for pencils and erasers when I want to draw!)
I duct tapped a lamp to the wall! Really! Why?
General | Posted 15 years ago Yes, I actually have duct tapped a lamp (more specifically a flourescent one) to the wall. If you've just read that you may want to know why. Right now, the only means I have to get images off of the sketch pad and onto the computer is by camera. Often the lighting is uneven whe taking pictures of pictures. I needed a solution, and the bright diffuse light of the flourescent lamp seems to work. It was hard to hold it and take photos though. The problem was that I had no way to mount it (no nails, no wall hangers), so I turned to duct tape as a solution. It's always available in abundance, or, at least in Alabama, it is.
I just remimbered that I have yet to write anything in here
General | Posted 15 years ago Right now, I'm not altogether sure what I could put in here since I haven't really had much opportunity yet to do much in the fandom. I probably shouldn't make excuses though. Well, now that I have an entry started off, I should probably mention having a chance to meet others last month (even though I have yet to make it to a con), and, should any of you read this, I'de like to say that it was nice to meet you.
