NyeFable account as my only maintained account and let this one die out. It's kinda dumb having two accounts. I was trying to separate the accounts to keep one clean, easy to approach, full of just pictures, and the other for adult and stories... but that seems silly.
Also, I'm going to (try) and start using my SoFurry and Weasyl more. Both are NyeFable.

Panic Attacks

Forgotten, ignored, shamed: these pains bled the heart of a man. Hollow and hallow, the story faded. No more word, the sacred communicator. Welcome to the Pit. Dry and cold. Age exists in the slow. Eternity in the haze of not-life. Dreams are dead. Future discarded."
Tonight, during a panic attack, this came out.
Never have I been so precarious in my steps. Forward towards the healed world of happiness and freedom, but held by the tendrils of past shames, fears, and pains. Every step is one made with faith and hope, not of security or certainty. My friends generate the courage to continue; sorrow at my inept existence bleeds me dry.
Doubt weighs on me, though. Is there sincerity in my friends? Will they be there if I fall? Will they abandon the weak one as life has shown will happen? Trust in my friends, when history and time has given me no reason at all to believe? Four years of a life anew. Can I build off that? Can I be happy? Abandonment, rejection, deception... that is what I expect from my new friends. I don't argue with the idea, rather, I ignore it. I trudge on through the muck. If what I suspect will happen does, then the answer will be clear. If I am proven wrong, will I know it? What if my friends remain? What if at least one will take my hand when they seen the horror that is me?
So full of shame, regret, hate... Can the broken be fixed? I'm going to find out, I suppose...

My Take on the Fandom
Posted 11 years agoMid-July, I'll have been a part of the fandom for four years. It's been great, and I've learned and grown a lot since becoming a furry! I thought I'd share some thoughts on what I think of the fandom. Mostly thinking out loud! I certainly don't want to offend anyone, but I will be sharing my opinions. I'm more interested in sharing ideas and perspectives, so if I offend, I am sorry.
First off, I wanna talk about before I joined a furry. I'd say four and a half years ago, I was a wreck! 310 pounds, disheveled, slobby, cynical and isolated; I was a very unhealthy person inside and out! My hair was hideous and my weight was way too high... I was depressed and suicidal. In fact, I never planned to survive to the age that I am. But something lit inside me.
I started by shaving my head. Even though family objected, I knew I needed to do something kind of daring. I took it all off and it worked! Confidence began to exist in me. Next, I wanted to lose weight. I joined a gym, stopped drinking soda, stopped most junk foods, and took extra measures to stay active. I went from 318 pounds (at my peak) down to 170 within a few months.
And then came the biggest change. I went from a closet homophobe, to coming out to myself, my family, and my friends. It was the most freeing and rewarding time of my life. I'm lucky I was accepted so well... A month after coming out I joined the fandom. I couldn't have asked for something so fortunate. I didn't even know how open the fandom was when I joined. But I'm so glad it is. It really was a cushion for me to explore my new reality with.
I stayed online mostly until I was brave enough to attend furmeets. It was shocking how many friends I made so quickly! And how much the fandom suited me.
At first, I couldn't figure out my fursona. It was really hard for me; took a few months. I tried being a dragon. Nyroo was a character from a book I'm writing... but that was a character, not me. I was clueless. I felt like I was a canine, but didn't think wolf or fox fit me... when a National Geographic documentary showed coyotes, something snapped. So, I became a yote! It suits me so well. I couldn't have imagined how much it would work for me.
I'm a trickster, but also more than that! I'm a survivor. I adapt to change quickly, and I can be as social or solitary as I need. Being seen as a mongrel or vermin by most, but understood to be a marvelous creature when given the chance....
There is a lot of drama in the fandom, I know. A lot of furs bash each other, and it was very unsettling when I was first started exploring the fandom. "Lifestylers are lame." "Fursuiting is stupid and childish." "Therians and otherkin are weird and make the fandom something its not." "All the porn is ruining the fandom." "X is ruining the fandom." All of these remarks have been from other furries that I've heard. It's disturbing, because for me, I don't see a reason to bash, deny, or reject a side of the fandom.
I used to think in order to be accepted, I'd have to think a certain view on the fandom. However, one thing I noticed quickly... furries are really insecure and scared. They seek validation so often. They need and crave approval, acceptance, and respect. So many argue to 'win' an argument to be seen as smart for something. I think everyone does to varying levels... Which is funny! Everyone is scared. Everyone feels vulnerable. Needing to prove something is silly. People should be themselves!
Furries JUST on the internet seem to have a very unclear view of what it's like to attend cons, furmeets, and interact with other furries in person. I used to get mocked for fursuiting, for wanting to think of myself as a coyote at a public furmeet. When I first started going to furmeets, I'd get warned about being raped/yiff... I feel there's a huge misconception between online furries and the live fandom.
Maybe it's just where I am... Colorado has been an amazing place to be a furry. Between the Springs and Denver, there are so many great and friendly people. And even if some groups are clique-y, and seem a bit 'high school', I still somehow find myself talking to those people like I do anyone else.
What I've noticed, is that it's pretty easy to avoid drama. Just do your own thing and be happy. Drama doesn't work on the uninterested. And drama follows drama. I've noticed the people that complain most about drama are usually the ones causing it. Or at least egging it on. It's sad, especially because I see a lot of insecurity in people. And they're not willing to fight or heal themselves. Instead, they use their insecurities to hurt, bash, insult, dramatize, or hassle others.
All that being said? The fandom is fucking amazing. The folks I talk to regularly are some of the greatest people I know and likely will ever know. If people this amazing are part of the fandom, or an interest, or an activity... then it can't be that bad. I love the friends I have. The genuine ones. It means a lot knowing so many amazing and diverse folks! From ferals, to suiters, to not suiters, to therians, to hobbyists, to yiffers, to clean-only, to con-goers, to anyone else. I like the diverse fandom. I like different ideas, beliefs, religions. I like different love styles, world views, hopes, interests. We're a fandom with everything from dogs and cats to dragons and gryphons and monsters! Diversity makes the fandom great. The fandom is great. It's a great adventure!

Story Ideas; Help and Input
Posted 11 years agoFor a while, lately, my mind has bombarded me with ideas for stories. Many would be great for furry!... if I felt I could pull them off. I'd love to do a Western, but I don't know much on the technical portions of that time period. Anyone that can school me while I write, I'd love your company!
Additionally, I have a couple horror stories I'd like to try! One being a zombie-survival, one being a haunted house. These may or may not get finished and published, since I am NOT good at suspense yet. However, rather than coming up with characters, I was curious if anyone would mind offering their characters to be included. The issue with this is, I might not include everyone. I'd go with what I feel is best to work with the story... I don't want anyone getting disappointed if they're not in a story.
The same applies to fantasy/adventure stories I'd like to try!
If anyone is willing to offer their characters (and not bothered if they're NOT picked), I'd greatly appreciate having some fun with friends in my stories.
Other than that, I seem to be doing more adult stories so... yay? I'm also going to start working on my sona's story and timeline.

I still have a lot of pictures from AC before touching RMFC. I hate to fill folks' submissions with photography like that. Friend Story Idea
Posted 12 years agoFor a while, I've wanted to create a story involving some friends and turn it into a fairly large, exciting series. I want to gather friends' characters and bring them together in a fun, epic fantasy/sci-fi style story. I've had some interest already, but I'm curious who would be interested.
I have a few requirements in case folks are interested:
> No copyright species/settings/backgrounds/characters; as in, no Star Trek, MLP, Kingdom Hearts, lombax, Harry Potter, etc. I need your characters background and species and 'rules' to be your own creation, or generic enough that I won't be stepping on any toes!
> Characters may be furry or non-furry. Some non-human characters would actually be fairly interesting to blend.
> Magic, advanced technology, horror, or modern times are all acceptable, so long as your character can be exposed to the other genres.
> No sexual stuff! I'm not adding that stuff. I hope to keep this fairly PG-13 with the possibility of there being more R-rated material as far as horror, violence and such.
> Have a ref sheet or image for me to work off of.
> Please don't complain, if I get enough folks interested, I'll probably try to split groups into multiple stories or I might have to go with whatever is best for the story; likewise, I want to be true to everyone's character, but if I mess up, please don't go insane at me...

Posted 12 years agoSo fun news: I got a fursuit! Won an auction so hopefully I'll be getting that cute guy soon.
Also, I finally got work off for RMFC! Kinda late, but I was hoping to see if anyone had a room available. Other than that, I have AC all set (though debating on getting a swim suit or not). And I can't wait to start fursuiting with others!
I'm feeling a lot of build up for these cons and getting a little anxious, and very excited.

So often people mention something and I have to sheepishly (which is not easy for a coyote!) admit I haven't seen that show/movie. For those in the CO region that loves watching movies with someone, let me know! I need to see them. Posted 13 years agoSaturdays Foxtrot was really fun! I really liked how they did the layout with the dance area. It was also really great seeing folks.

Cowardly Coyote and His Games
Posted 13 years agoYou know what sucks? So many of the games I want to play I can't... simply because I'm terrified of anything my brain sticks into the 'undead' category. I had to stop playing Half-Life 2, can't play the Walking Dead game, can't do Amnesia (definitely not...) and can barely handle watching these types of games! The weird thing?... I love these type of monsters and stories. I like the dark, macabre stuff!
I guess I just immerse myself into stories too easily. I'm skittish and jumpy, and hate that!... but like being scared. I dunno... Anyway! I'd love to watch others play these games for me : P
