At first I had planned to open new commission slots around the end of June.

Of course, it was right at this moment that the life and work conditions at the lab started getting tedious and hectic...

I really appreciate that people want to commission me. I really do. However, I am not able to open slots at the moment. I don't want to open slots for commissions if I'm not sure I'll be able to work on them within a reasonable time frame. To have a long work list gives me a lot of pressure and it can eventually turn into a burn out or art block if I have too many things going on at the same time.

I have custom character cards to finish working on, and only then I will open new slots for coloured sketch commissions. Next time it's also likely it won't be first come first served.

I hope you are all doing fine during this strange year. I do not make journals as often as before, but do not worry, I am still here =)

This page recently reached 9k watchers, and I wanted to thank you all for your continuous support through the years. I am not drawing as much as many others, but I try to keep learning new things, be it techniques, anatomy, new species. I hope you will enjoy my future works. I have an exciting project I'm currently working on, and hopefully I will soon be able to tell more about it.

It's now a bit more than one year since I got my PhD. Sadly, I couldn't really celebrate properly since I have to stay home and cannot have friends over.

Also I have a question for you =) I like asking that from time to time, but is there a theme you'd like to see me draw? (no Cow TFs sorry) I cannot promise anything of course, but I do enjoy reading people's ideas. They can be great sources of inspiration, and motivation!

Hello there!

I would be interested in practicing 2D animation a bit. Although I had fun using Photoshop for it, I'm not sure it's the best suited for animations ;)

So I would like to ask animators (or people who know a bunch about the matter) out there what software you know or use when creating animations. I was told about Toon Boom Harmony 17, I might give it a try, but I want to read your opinion too =)

The current news are not super good. They shut down my lab, and it looks like I'll spend the coming weeks at home.

As much as possible, I will continue to draw and try to deliver some happiness on this page. If my drawings can make one smile, then my days will be brighter :)

Hello there, and happy new year to all!

Work at the lab has been eating all my time lately, including my precious free time =( I try to keep drawing! But.. I am slowed down quite badly. Hard to find a proper balance! But I still draw! Working through my commission list slowly, while trying to work on my other projects.

And tonight, after a quite exhausting day, I had the pleasant surprise to see this page had reached 300k pageviews! =) It's so incredible! I still remember when I had first reached 1k some years ago!

So, once again, thank you all for your kind support. I can only wish I had more to offer!

Among other things.. here is a short list of the projects I would like to work on for 2020 (or 2021, considering how much work I have..)

¤ Continue improving with digital media, especially lines and coloring
¤ Work on a small book project about my universe and my kobold, Max
¤ Experiment more with short sequences, painted backgrounds, and perhaps short comics
¤ Stream again perhaps
¤ Offer sticker commissions
¤ Draw new portraits and custom badges and buttons for people and conventions
¤ Make new actual potions keychains and sell them online

¤ ..and a secret project I cannot talk about yet but I hope it will be awesome =)

It's now been a bit over a month since the accident! I've almost fully recovered and the pain is almost completely gone. I still have some scars which should hopefully vanish over time =)

I'm sorry I've been so slow with art and commissions! I knew it would take me a while to get to go through the queue, but lately (not even speaking about the accident) I've been doing 50-60h weeks at the lab because of some deadlines for projects! Not giving me much time to work on my commissions in the evening =( (or even anything in fact, even videogames..)

Conventions have taken me a lot of time as well (and sadly they weren't worth all the time spent preparing them, especially since it was time spent NOT drawing commissions or personal art). Next year I will not do the same mistakes again and will 1) focus on very local cons which are easier to handle and 2) focus on furry cons as a visitors and not an artist to enjoy my time there =)

So!! In short, I'll do my best to keep working on the commissions when I can. Please understand I have a fulltime job that often slows me down a lot, and please be patient with me =)

I'll try to also find more time to answer properly to comments there! They've been piling up way too much lately!

In a few hours, it is my birthday (October the 26th). Yesterday, though, I thought for a second I would never get to celebrate it.

As I was going back home after work, I got hit by a car. The driver thought it was clever to simply go through the sidewalk instead of driving on his lane for 10 more meters before turning right. Except I was there. On the sidewalk. I won't lie, when I saw the car suddenly turn and go in my direction at full speed, I didn't even had time to get scared or anything. I instinctly threw myself on the side, which allowed me to only get hit by the wing and mirror of the car rather than being hit full front. I landed on my side and elbow. I got several scratches and bruises. Immediately got up, checking if I was actually still alive. The driver got out. Asking me from where I was coming. Tried to find excuses. There was a witness. Myself I was under shock. I knew I was bleeding as my right side was feeling wet and sore. Taking off jacket, I showed the badly scratched area to the guys. I didn't want to argue or listen to them. I just wanted to get first aid.

Thankfully there was a pharmacy nearby. I could walk there to seek for help. A bit later, the driver entered, followed by the witness. The guy checked if I wasn't dying. And then he ran away at first occasion. I was still under shock. I didn't think about reading their numberplate or taking their name.

I managed to get back home after receiving first aid. Went to the doctor and hospital for a check up. Turned out I thankfully didn't have any broken bone save for a broken phalanx on the thumb. But I got bad bruises, and traumatic muscular contractures following the shock. Because of this, I am currently unable to walk. I will need to rest for a couple of days (up to a week) to recover. I am staying in bed. Thinking about how this event could have been much worse if I hadn't jumped on the side. At the moment, that's pretty much all I can think about..

So I am still here and alive. And tomorrow I'll turn 29. Up for another year of drawings, as soon as I am in a better shape.

It may sound silly, but I actually often think about old users I met when I created this account back in 2011 and 2012. I know some people are still around. I know some have left the website or the community as a whole and turned the page. I know I used to chat with people through Skype, or simply via comments here on FA (or dA). I sometimes see familiar names on the website and I find it amusing to remember these moments. I think that the people we meet and befriend (even if that is not forever) are important in one's life.

So.. if you are still around (AND reading my boring journal entries!) Please say hello ! =)

Hello from Italy! I think this is official now, I managed to find a hotel room near the convention center, so I will be able to attend to Confuzzled this year! Because of the PhD nothing was sure, and I wasn't able to register only very recently..

I realized that not long ago it had been exactly one year since I got my tablet and started practicing with digital art ^^ Time goes so fast! And of course, I plan to keep improving! =)

And... 4 days! I won't lie, I'm ready for the final defence. But I'm slowly getting a bit anxious, mostly because I want it to be as good as possible! Thankfully I have family and close friends who support me through this moment!

As soon as I'm done with the PhD, I will be able to finish working on the various art projects I couldn't get to work on (a mix of commissions, trades to finish), and afterwards, I'll try to take new commissions again =) I know several people have been contacting me during the past months to inquire about a possible slot. It'll soon be possible again! =D I cannot wait! And I'm currently thinking about what commission types I might offer, from my colored concept doodles, to polished sketches, etc. More info soon! And if you have specific ideas, feel free to tell me in the comments! I'll consider them seriously!

The slides are done, I should be relieved, but I am dead inside. Before the final defense, I have to present my work in front of plenty of people next week. A sort of.. warm up. But I don't really look forward to this moment.
My presentation lasts around 45 min. Followed by roughly 2 hours of questions. The discussion can be pretty tense, depending on the jury members, if they decide to test my very limits and knowledges, or nerves. The questions can be tough. I am not extremely good at advanced thermodynamics and maths.

I know most of you don't care about IRL stuff outside of art, so this will surely be one of my last journals about the whole thing. Soon, 8 years of studies will be over and I'll finally be able to turn the page. You might have to go through another of my journal after it's all over.

By the way, I didn't take the time to thank you all for allowing this page to reach 7000 watchers. I am extremely grateful for this, and I hope to be able to deliver more art soon, even if I suspect I'll probably sleep for 2 weeks straight after the PhD is over.

And I thank the handful of people who've been supporting me on telegram through this. I won't forget it.
