These days I have to prepare the slides for my finale defense, and it is really driving me mad. It's the final sprint before the end of the PhD, but it's getting very hard to stay focused.

I unfortunately haven't managed to draw anything lately because the work keeps me busy and in the evening or during weekends I only feel like sleeping or watching series because my brain is saturated =(

I must also admit that the events in France also affect my mood. And since I haven't been to a convention since last year, or taken new commissions for a while, it's a bit hard on the morale. You know, that feeling of being out of the fandom. I really cannot wait for all this to be done. The pressure has been too high for too long.

So tonight I'm taking a break. So, you have a question you've always wanted to ask me? There is a TF you'd like to see me draw one day? There are things and commission types you'd like me to do more when the PhD is finally over? Feel free to do it tonight! =) I'll try to answer them all

Hello there!

Work has been a bit tough this month. As planned I finished writing the whole thesis on Jan the 15th, but my bosses have been keeping giving me endless corrections since then, and are already asking me to start working on the powerpoint presentation for the final defense of the thesis.

I have managed to draw a bit when work wasn't ruining my mood too much, but not as much as I would have liked. The final defense is planned on Thursday, April the 11th! It's quite a while until then, but it's the last sprint!

So until it is all over, I cannot reliably work on commissions.. so I'd rather wait a bit before opening new slots. I really wish I could draw more! But I don't want to take slots and have people wait for 2 months before getting to actually work on their illustrations.. Same for a waiting list!

Hope you're having a good time between Christmas and New Year's eve! I'm currently super busy between family moments and the end of the thesis writing. I'm pretty much done with the actual writing. Just need to do the corrections now. Won't lie, it's hard and tedious. But technically, it'll be all over for January the 15th! Afterwards, I'm gonna take a looot of days off >_>

I'm craving for drawing, and the lack of online activity always has me feel a bit lonely... but I need to finish this thing before being able to draw again without feeling guilty. So I'm sorry if I'm not taking any new commission lately or am being slow on the updates and current projects but I don't really have a choice at the moment..

I seriously can't wait to get done with that PhD degree...

As some of you already know, I've been quiet for the past few days because I am currently writing my thesis! It sure takes a lot of time and I even work on it in the evening after work.. BUT!! I intend to get it done for Christmas!! =) several chapters already got written. I have a few figures to rework or finish. I have done the hardest things.. I think! (Well I hope haha)

I have a few commissions to continue, which I'd also like to get done before Christmas, but I hope you all understand if I tell you I have to put art on hold for now until I'm done with writing the thesis =)

It's autumn! My favorite part of the year! And not only because it means my Birthday is coming up, or Halloween, or Christmas ^^

I like the foggy atmosphere, I like lighting up a candle in the evening when I go back home to get to work on new illustrations, I like having a good reason for making hot chocolate and cookies :)

But more than that, here are some things I really consider getting one day:
- A fursuit of my kobold
- A soft plush of Max that would be 30 cm tall so I could bring him to cons and show him on my table, he'd be my mascot! =D
- More art with Max, and not only TFs ;)
- A plastic card printer that would allow me to offer even more awesome and professional looking custom commissions for badges.

I won't do a raffle this time because I still remember how not fun it went for me last year. So instead I'll do something new and open a little suggestion box in which you can put your ideas for a digitally colored TF =) I'll pick the ideas that inspire me the most, and will work on something from them!

The ideas can be sfw or nsfw, they can be TF or post-TF. They have to match with my will draw/won't draw list of course. Please don't get sad if I don't reply to all of your ideas! It's nicer as well if you're watching me before suggesting me your ideas. Keep them short (500 words max) as the ideas have to be a base for inspiration. If your idea gets picked, I'll contact you! The TF potion event is finally over!

Thanks to you, 174 potions were crafted during the event, with only 3 mixing accidents reported in total! I am currently working on crafting the last potions that will be shipped tomorrow.

Now as you know, I love stats! And here are some interesting ones:

Potion effect distribution and color/shape combinations, quite impressively well shared between all the possible choices!

- The biggest potion order was 28
- Poor Iguana didn't get love this time
- 25 people decided to try the strange potions

For the occasion (and also the incoming 200,000 pageviews), I am considering giving a try to create some TF themed goodies, under the form of potions charms or buttons. The flasks would be of various colors, and would have a "Drink Me" label, as well as a pawprint or silhouette to represent an animal the potion would turn you into! ;)

I'm torn between going with identical potions with only the label changing (a bit like Izma's potions in the Emperor's new groove) or to go with fewer animals but with unique potions for each.

Once they'd be drawn, I'd take orders for them on FA and Twitter during a few days before shipping them all. It would be a unique occasion that you wouldn't want to miss ^^

Tell me what you think! =) don't hesitate to suggest an animal as well (preferably something that works with a fantasy themed tf based on a potion. No made up species or hybrids, unless they're known mythological creatures).

For a year and a half I've been attending to anime, comic and videogame conventions as an artist. It's always been really great, allowed me to meet plenty of passionate people both among other artists and visitors, from cosplay to fursuits, from plush makers to videogame makers, from writers to painters and tattoo designers.

I bought a button machine, and I've been crafting buttons and magnets almost on a daily basis since then. I recently celebrated my 1000th sold button.

For conventions, and also because I love them, I had decided to create a fanart collection made of videogame characters coming from various universe, but especially from games one cannot see everyday in conventions. It was actually pretty well received among visitors, since they were often happy to see that someone had finally drawn the character they wanted, or better, parents would recognize the older characters and their kids would recognize the newer ones


Except.. more and more, this fanart collection has been a source of problems for me, as my applications to several cons were rejected, because of this. I am not writing this journal to discuss about the legal aspects of drawing copyrighted characters and selling counterfeit goodies. The fact is that I don't want to have problems ever with companies that put counterfeit products and fanart in the exact same bag. So, from now on, I will strongly reduce the amount of fanarts I produce, and will favour more fantasy/steampunk/science/furry themes for goodies.

What does it change for you, fellow FA user? Not much, as I will still draw TFs and portraits. Except you can expect to see more custom things and no more fanarts. Or very little..

It does change a lot of things about who my main sona is. For many years, I've been toying with my Turian Velik. But the whole evolution of how fanart is perceived and copyrights eventually made me feel a bit more distant with this character. From now on, it's my Kobold who will become my main sona, and that's not a hastily taken decision. I created him 2 years ago. He's an alchemist, part of a personal fantasy/steampunk universe, and he's taken part in many TFs already. I feel connected to this little blue guy in many ways, and I think I've finally found my definitive sona.

Lately I've been pondering about whether or not I wanted to join some chat groups again. I've always been quite bad at staying for long into groups, often because it can quickly either become too large and a meme/sticker/gif spam fest, or get hard for me to follow because of timezones (people mostly being active during my sleep time).

I like discussing, and it often proves to be quite a solid inspiration for/when drawing. Unfortunately, I feel like people are a bit less interested in private chats, and my Telegram hasn't been the most active lately.

So if you happen to have average sized groups on discord or telegram, about TF, Scalies, Turians & Mass Effect or videogames, feel free to suggest them to me! I promise I'll behave ^^

About commissions

I will soon be done with the remaining custom button commissions. I'll finish them all before opening new slots! I won't take this many this time. More like 1-2 max everytime but more often. And I will practice more with sketch coloring so I can see if I can offer colored commissions in this style.

I am currently on holidays and away from home and am thus taking a little break from art and commissions! I will get back to them as soon as I am back home.

I intend to work on new TF sketches soon and keep practicing with the art tablet. I have a few ideas in mind for these already, thanks to good old dragons and aliens, but as always they need some polishing. Also, even if I do have my favorite themes (who doesn't), I always like working on new things as long as they fit in my tastes.

So, if you happen to have an idea in mind (that isn't toooo far away from what I usually draw), feel free to suggest it here. I will read them all, and who knows, maybe inspiration will sparkle from there! =)

The current batch of digital button commission is being done at a fairly satisfying rhythm. I have managed to complete more than half of the slots and several of the remaining ones already got sketched! A good thing with the digital coloring is that it really is faster than markers to use for me ^^

Lately I have been contacted a few times by people who told me they either were interested in getting a button commission soon or that they were interested in purchasing existing buttons, especially TF ones. The answer to the first answer is that I will surely open new slots when I am done with all the current commissions.

The answer to the second question is a bit more complicated; since these commissions are custom portraits and were designed for one person, I don't feel like it is right to sell them to others.

So my question is: would you ever be interested if I was to design generic TF buttons that could feature maybe various creatures (like werewolf, weredragon, (wereturian) :p etc.) with classic features and slight color variations ? When I say generic, I don't want to come up with something as bland as all these buttons that only have white upper case text put on a black background as I find these to be rather boresome. I would like these buttons to focus more on the TF theme. Maybe some space would be kept for text such as "Werewolf" or "Weredragon", something more personalized than just "TF appreciator" or "TF Addict" ^^

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated really, so I know if it is worth giving these buttons a try. Of course I am talking about TF and werecreatures, but the same could be applied to growth, macro, other kinds of TF triggers.. etc. Obviously they would always remain SFW though!
