The past weeks have been much better than I feared at first thanks to being able to practice with the tablet and digital art in the evening after work! =)

I wanted to thank all the people who took a slot and offered me a chance to practice with some digital techniques! It's been awesome so far, and I will soon print the first badges to ship them to their happy owners! I've started working on a bunch of the next ones as well, so expect more to come soon^^

I am slowly finding techniques I like for various steps such as lining or shading. Working on consistency as well, and getting a bit more confident with the results so I can soon get to color full bodies!

I finally am starting to get done with all the very important things I had to do at work with my PhD and presentations. Normally everything should get back to normal after April the 6th =)

I have been practicing a but with digital tools in the meantime, and was wondering if any of you would be interested in getting a digitally colored headshot of a character of your choice ?

Since it's the very first time I'm offering to do these, I'd start at 25.00 EUR (approx. $30.00 USD today) per slot.

This price includes the shipping of three buttons (or magnets depending on your preferences). The headshots are sketched traditionally (like the recent Ratchet & Clank doodles I uploaded to my gallery) then lined and colored digitally. They would be circular, to match with the button's shape and most of the current social media sites or conversation softwares.

If you are interested in getting one and in helping me get better at digital art, feel free to contact me through Telegram or Discord. I can work on OCs, sonas, fanarts, or even maybe TF headshot - SFW. Payment is when the coloring is done, before printing and shipping.

I received my art tablet last weekend and I managed to start practicing with it :)

It's been very nice so far! Trying various techniques for now. But I like cell shading a lot lot lot! It is much quicker than markers for sure. Lining takes some time but it feels quite rewarding to produce a fine, clean inking. Much more than classic indian ink work that was never looking refined enough for me when scanned!

I will keep practicing soon! Might try to either color old tfs I never got to color, or work on shiny new portraits for people :)

In short, it's awesome.

Like last year, things at work got very busy during the past month, that's why you haven't heard about me for a while! I was quite expecting it, that's why I didn't take new slots for commissions this month.
But today I got my yearly big PhD report done! So, since I had talked about it back in January, I ordered a shiny art tablet to practice with digital art a bit! =)

I went with a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet. Now I'll wait for it arrive, and then I'll take some time to practice with it!

I'll be attending to a national scientific congress until Saturday so my activity here will be a bit lower until then. I am still joinable through Telegram

Also I have chosen the tablet I will purchase later this year either next month or during March. Will practice with digital tools! :O

Now about projects, the Mass Effect month has been going well so far with little delay on my current schedule. Next month I have some conventions (non furry ones though) and hopefully I'll be able to sell some prints and badges there!

But I'll try to take a couple of commissions next month, pixelarts, sketches or portraits !

With the New Year starting, I realized that I've now been drawing for a little more than 8 years. It was Fall 2009 when I decided I wanted to be able to draw my own art, bought a pencil and a paper block and started practicing on my own. I started with Mass Effect art, as back then I couldn't find the art I wanted to see, and I was too shy to dare to contact any artist and ask them for a commission (both my English and knowledge of how things worked on art sites were not very good).

At the same time, I had been a lurker for many years on various TF sites (most of them being considered as dead places nowadays when it comes to browsing for TF art), but I knew my art skills and my understanding of anatomy were not good enough yet to allow me to draw TFs matching my own expectations.

I bought my first Promarkers in early 2011, about a year and a half after having started drawing. Since then, all the time spent drawing has been about finding and improving my techniques, completing my colour collection, finding the best paper for my style.

Now, it's been years, and I often wonder if I should purchase a tablet, in order to practice with Digital inking and colouring, as I sometimes feel like digital colouring is somehow the next step for me to explore more art techniques (without dropping markers of course). With work and all, it is difficult for me to colour full illustrations so I don't know if to be able to apply colours over a traditionally drawn sketch could help reduce the amount of time required to produce coloured pictures.

I know little about the huge variety of existing tablets and tools for digital art. But I think a tablet coming with a screen one can directly draw on would make it more comfortable for me.

I'm torn!

And why am I torn? Well, one reason is that for many years I kinda imagined that switching from markers to digital art could be like giving up on my own art style and what defines me on the Internet. It might sound crazy, but it's always been a very serious thing to me!

So yes, just know I'm highly considering purchasing a tablet and practicing with digital colouring this year. Don't worry, I won't bother you with it or upload pictures as long as I don't think it's worth being shown.

It is now official, I will not attend to Eurofurence next year. Commissions will also stay closed until further notice.


Other than that, to thank the people who actually take the time to read journals, I'm holding a secret Christmas raffle where two people will get to win a portrait of their sona (or a character of their choice, be it a character from a movie, animated series, videogame...). On a more serious note, I wanted to replace that old journal and get something more amusing on my front page. Now, if you read that journal this far, first of all I'm thankful you got past my inconditional love for Turians and all kinds of metamorphoses that lead to being one, and wanted to know more about the journal itself.

This autumn has not been very easy for me. Although I cannot complain about life or work, I got a rather bad art block during November, hence why the reduced amount of submitted artwork on my various pages.

The mood for drawing is slowly coming back, but the cold is hitting pretty badly here and in the evening I now more often feel like going to bed than sitting at my desk for hours and shuddering because my heaters won't make up for the low temperatures.

We got our first snows. For once it happened before Christmas which is something fairly rare now here. It made me in the mood for lighting some candles and work while listening to christmas songs. That and to drink hot chocolate as well.

I'm missing my little polls and journals I used to do. This year unfortunately I cannot do a raffle or open commissions. But I'd like to hear some suggestions for next year's projects, either with portraits or TF art. Be creative =) after all these years I think you all know what I like

Hello there!

Just wanting to tell you that my old laser printer recently started printing with a lot of artefacts meaning that the most important part (the print head device) was dead and basically it costs around 200€ without the shipping fees. For this price, I'd rather purchase a brand new model since my current printer is like 10 years old.

So, in the next coming days I'll be looking for a model that suits my needs! It's like very distracting so.. it might take me some time to get back to my commissions. Of course, I cannot print new badges and buttons for the moment! But it shouldn't take too long :)

NB: I'm not asking for money! I have more than enough to replace my printer. I'm just waiting to be sure the new one I'll buy will be good enough for prints!

I've talked about this with some friends and I decided to write a journal about this. I will not do the inktober thing. Firstly because I already do ink works regularly, and secondly because I want to be able to open some new commissions during the next month. I've been making some slight changes to my commission info. The major updates being the addition of magnet buttons being available as an option for portrait commissions. Soon I should be able to offer plasticized badges too.

I might try to offer coloured postcards sized pictures as well, but still unsure about this.

Still working on fanart portraits as well. Diablo (from Diablo II) will be the next one to join my collection.

In case you missed it, some fans are recreating the second Tomb Raider game (from 1997 and featuring Dragon TF lore!) and they recently released a demo version that allows you to play some parts of the first level. It is all done using the Unreal Engine 4 and with the same kind of gameplay the Crystal Dynamics games had (so Legend, Anniversary, Underworld)

Hello again!

Lately I've been missing the interactions I had with people on this website, and I realized I hadn't done any interactive journal or small TF poll or raffle since last year when my grandparents had been very badly flooded and that I had to cancel everything (not very pleasant memories..). I want to do these little amusing things again, this time with smaller goals so it can still be done even if IRL gets in the way.

For this time, the TF sketch would be SFW and would feature (with probable trigger between brackets):

N°1 - A Krogan TF from the Mass Effect universe (mad Salarian scientist)
N°2 - A Skag TF from the Borderlands universe (toxic wastes)
N°3 - A Savannah Monitor TF (because of another lizard looking for a mate)
N°4 - A Rat TF (potion)
N°5 - An Ant TF (pheromones)

I wanted to tell you that from now my Discord account will not be used for anything else than occasional gaming with friends. I emptied my whole friend list there. If you want to talk, or discuss about commissions and all, please use Telegram. I'm willing to reduce the amount of chat softwares I'm using, because between Telegram, Whatsapp, Discord, Steam, Messenger, Origin and all it's starting to become rather bothersome and confusing to keep up with everything.

Of course you can still use notes, but I am really not fond of using these for long conversations.

I'm soon done with all the custom button commissions. So I'll opening a slot for a TF sketch commission soon. Stay tuned about that.

Hello from Sofia, Bulgary, where I attended to my first international scientific congress! =D I even got an oral communication there which was well received! It was amazing to talk and present my research work and results in front of almost 300 other scientists from all over the world! =D

So! I'll be back home next week, and the plans prior to EF23 are the following:
- Finish and ship the last custom button commissions for people here on FA (6)
- Finish the Tomb Raider illustration picture (inking in progress) and order large HQ print for it =3
- Draw something for sharkweek if I manage to find some time to do it...
- Work on various fanart buttons (Legion, Thane, Javik, Grunt, Diablo, Pharah... etc) for the incoming convention later this year
- Open a slot or two for a TF sketch commission! (excited! :D)

In short, a lot of exciting things for this Summer which is going to be awesome! =)

¤ What do they look like?

¤ What's the concept?
Custom button featuring a character of your choice, be it a sona, an original character, or a character from a movie, videogame, etc. These buttons are all home-made (meaning I can craft these on my own without relying on a third party). Custom buttons consist of a traditionaly drawn and coloured portrait that is then resized and printed as a button. Commission price includes the shipping of three buttons so one can be easily replaced in case a button gets damaged or lost. Of course, commissioner also gets high-res scan of the traditional portrait so it can be used to make a nice avatar or icon.

Some general rules:
- SFW content only
- Two slots per person at maximum
- Payment is Paypal only, when the sketch is done
- I may refuse to draw some characters if I don't think I can draw them properly
- Portraits only, and one character per button only.
