Posted 11 years agoIn past years a few friends and I started getting people together for meals. This has grown rather quickly, and while fun, it has limited our options to go other places because if we have a group of 20 people with ears and tails trying to cram into a nice place it just doesn't work. So this year Kyo picked out a few places he's interested in and, frankly, I'll eat anything, so off we go. I'm tossing this up for folks who wanna come along.
Also a number of these are more of a walk than some people are used to. Just a heads up.
Typical Breakfast on any day: Bruegger's @ 9. If you want to tag along you're going to have to be in the lobby no later than 8:50 or 8:55. If you're running late text someone, but we eat at 9.
For lunch meet int he lobby at 12:30
For Dinner meet in the lobby at 5:00
Lunch Friday: Noon Wingharts - Burgers. Special burgers, oh, and something about pizza or Salad. (Distance is .5 Miles)

I know some folks are uncomfortable with Public RPs, but that's not really the main point of the room. There's a good friendly crowd there and it's a nice place to meet people with similar interests.

This year's con didn't offer up a great list of one liners unfortunately, but I wanted to jot some of them down.

"I just got off the phone with Fernando. As we all know, the economy has not been kind to small business owners for the past few years, and Fernando has made the painful decision to close his cafe. He wanted me to pass on to everyone that it was due primarily to Anthrocon that he was able to keep going as long as he did, and as much as he wanted to hold out to see us one more time it just wasn't financially possible for him to continue past April of this year. He is very, very grateful to all of us for being such wonderful customers and he is going to miss the big "Furry Rush." I told him that we will always have a badge waiting for him if he gets bored and wants to drop by.: ~Uncle Kage
That aside I look forward to seeing folks again this year.

Here's the research. Somewhere on AC is a 3 panel comic about why an artist dosn't do Con Comissions. The final page invilved a masive facepalm. There are about 7 people in this room and no one can recall who did the comic.

AC. Time to Plan, who needs a room?
Posted 17 years agoOk so I checked yesterday to find that the Westin had completely filled up. This morning a friend contacted me to let me know that they had opened up a few extra rooms. They were only King rooms, no doubles, but I nabbed on anyhow. Now I already know who one of my roomies is because he was the first to ask.
The thing is now that if you want a room at the Westin you need to either rush and get one now, or find someone to room with.
My trouble is that I have a king room, so it's likely that anyone wanting to room with me at this going would be on one of the hotels roll away beds or on the floor.
With that said I'm going to start looking for a roommate(s) now, as many as two more. Because of some things that happened last year with one of my roomies changing his mind at the last second and not letting me know about it I ended up paying about $75-$100 more than I'd planned. Now I don't hold a grudge cause I know why he did it and I can't argue with his reasoning. My issue is that once I pick a roommate or two I will most likely be asking for a deposit so that I'm not out a $100 when AC rolls around.
You may think this is early (and if you do you've clearly never tried reserving rooms for AC) but I'm just trying to keep on top of things.
