Sorry for ABANDONING YOU ALL
Posted 13 years agoNo seriously. I've been neglecting a shitload of people and projects and that is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT ALL MY FAULT. I freak out when STRESS and, uh. That happened.
I sold some things at FC! I will upload then eventually. Maybe. Twix sold more than I did but she's also more charismatic so THERE.
I started school again! Not sure how that's gonna go yet.
LOOK AT ALL THESE COMMISSIONS I HAVE TO FINISH. (like two.)
(I'm sorry it's taking so long. I hope you understand now why I don't charge until it's done.)
I CAN'T FIND MY LAPTOP CHARGER AND ALL OF THE BATTERIES ARE EITHER DEAD OR HORRIBLE.
Also I has the prettiest opossum. (but that has nothing to do with me not logging on.)

Posted 14 years agoThe House is mostly moved, except for a few small things at the old place.
Tessa belle cannot always function the new dog door, and the kitten sits nowhere but mom's computer chair.
mister Fat isn't too happy but he seems relieved that we brought him with us.

Moving in a few days, Work timeline, and help a fur?
Posted 14 years agoSo the painter is going to be in the new place on Wednesday finishing up. . . well, the painting =P
The moving truck day is Saturday (the 15th) and so up until then I'm not going to be on too much because we just started packing yesterday. (Sounds a little last minute, I know, but we didn't really unpack last time we moved.)
I've also started mapping out my days in terms of what I work on when so that things actually get done;
This schedule assumes that I wake up at 600 like I'm supposed to (I don't always :<)
Morning (all week) is Art.
Afternoons on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is Art.
Tuesdays and Saturdays are Writing.
Thursdays and Sundays are ZooFonics (and that's not stream days btw, we're not that far along yet.)
SO far, mornings aside, it is going alright!
officially speaking a tuesday might look like;
600 wake up, stream from 615-715; be to gym at 730; be home by 815, shower, be to work at 900; be home by 1700, and the rest of the night is distributed between writing and any housework/anything else that I have to do.
So there's that! Unfortunately I can't stream right now (even if I were waking up at 6) because everything on the docket is do not distribute, but there is the plan.
Oh also give this a see; I did not find this through the fellow whose journal I am linking you to, but through someone whose judgement I trust; so at least think about giving it a look and passing it around, even if you can't help him out for whatever reason. The whole thing sounds fairly legit and really, what's the point of a community like this if we don't help each other out sometimes?

i decided that dwp is the publishing company and my commissions are separate from that.
i don't want to bother with the unloading and uploading that goes with that though :<

Moving, rainforests, and related things.
Posted 14 years agoTukleton went to the vet for the first time yesterday! He has neither AIDS nor Leukemia and they did not find any intestinal parasites in his stool, all of which is fantastic news :D He goes in for his second round of shots on the eleventh of October.
Tomorrow I'm leaving for rainfurrest! Not much to say about that other than what it is. I have 225$ and I'm sure that I'll come back with pennies but what can I say? I like to buy books. 8D
Oh yeah and I'm moving. If you follow my twitter you might have seen the thing about the standoff that was RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. I wasn't home at the time but mom got evacuated and the street was closed off (this was two days ago)- they got the guy but I guess he'd stabbed somebody earlier in the week, and it was only after gassing and then sending a dog in after him. (The dog is okay!) And then yesterday I guess there was a double-stabbing a street over in an apartment complex that I used to live in. So that combined with the fact that mon was already on the fence about moving (my brother is going to Jesuit now, and we live kinda far away, so dad bought a duplex withthe idea of renting half of it out to mom).. Uh- so we'll be going up there. It's something like ten miles I think? North to la riviera- we can go biking along the American river! Whoo~
Oh yeah and since I spilled ink on the carpet awhile ago I'm not allowed to paint anymore until Ii can get a tarp to put down :C
Best part of moving is that I get to paint my room for the first time since I was seven! Mom and I are plotting, muwahahah.

River Postponed, Regular Stream Times, and Big Booty Bitches
Posted 14 years agoThe short version of the postponing story is this:
I am not only a procrastinator, but I majorly underestimated the project. And since it's pretty important to me that The River is released on Isabella's birthday (and obvious to me that it cannot be finished and printed in that time frame) that gets me another year to work on it. I still hope to have the illustrations done by the end of this year and spend 2012 working on layout and all of the paperwork and stuff.
Second, I am starting to try awaken at 6 in the am, to give myself more working hours in the day- which means streams too early in the morning, because it helps me work.
probably 6:15-7:30 or so. I'll still be posting journals when they go live probably though.
And Finally...
BIG BOOTY BITCHES
and then there's the Metal Version...

Thinking of getting a MrFat fursuit
Posted 14 years agoif you don't know who mister fat is, uh.
here is a picture i guess.
http://twitgoo.com/4gsweo
he is quite dapper but for some reason whenever we take a picture of him he does not look quite as fat as he is.
Anyway, so a Sir Freckles von Fattingston fursuit. I have decided that it is the best thing that I could possibly own ever, and though of course i have no money, that cannot keep me from dreaming, no more can it keep me from wondering, who might you recommend to make such a thing? it must of course appear suitably thick in a stocky sort of way, with a reasonable sort of pudge (anywhere that seem reasonable of course) and a moving jaw because not only does Sir Fatsalot enjoy his sustenance (hurr), but he also finds much pleasure in commandeering conversation and steering it about in enchanting and quite fantastic ways that may or may not bore or irritate the persons with whom he is theoretically engaging in dialogue.
He must of course be equipped with a collar like the one seen above (that is a colonial tie w/wing tip collar) and fancy cuffs complete with links. oh yes and a gentlemanly walking stick of some kind, he is of course not only a gentleman, but partly blind! and for this reason he must wear a monocle over his left eye. and of course being a gentleman he must wear a hat of some kind, but i have not decided which yet. (if you any suggestions there is a box down below where you may feel free to leave them)
it would be a fullsuit i think, perhaps inflatable just to cut down on a shitton of FOAM ARGH to achieve the fat effect, but i'm not completely sold on that. (does anyone know who made
belicbear's suit?)
Mn, anyway, if you know anyone who might be able to capture both the dapperness and obesity of my fine feline, could you perhaps point me to them? like i said, no money now-
but I like to has a plan =D

new kitten!
Posted 14 years agoas we were leaving for errands yesterday, mom noticed ... a yard sale.
mostly a table at the yard sale.
as maybe two of you know, we do not OWN a table, and have not since mom moved to seattle.
so mom wanted to see how much it was and also if it was sturdy (eventually we bought nothing because we didn't have any cash anyway.)
so while we were looking around, we saw a sign.
and this sign said FREE KITTENS.
and i have been wanting a kitten for awhile now to take to work with me and train and stuff.
so i freaked out because FREE KITTENS.
anyway we picked one out (there were 2) and went on our errands before taking him home.
He is black, and was exactly 13 weeks old on Saturday- as an added bonus he was already litter trained, he just needed to learn where it is, and is already used to yappy dogs! tessa belle is already sort of used to him but she is crazy so she relapses sometimes when there is sudden movement. they are actually getting along pretty swimmingly.
Anyway so my brother named him (we are fairly certain that it is a him- the people who gave birth to him said so and i checked and i am pretty sure that there are tiny kitten balls there =P)
his name is Turkleton (as in Chris Turk of scrubs) but he whines so much that we are considering renaming him JD (which will be a definite name change if we find out magically that he is a girl, i think x3)
anyway yes so new kitten. he is a titty kitty, which makes sense because titties are soft as shit... and he spent part of last night sleeping in the crook of my hip which was super adorable.
anyway so yeah.
other than that, i now own a wacom intuos2. in addition to my intuos1- i am waiting for some nibs to arrive in the mail so that i can use it (and of course since i bought it to replace my intuos1, i found the pen the day before the box arrived with the new tablet)
so.. the things that went off track are not back on it... and after that it'd back to the river =D

While Streaming. . .
Posted 14 years agoIt ended jus tnow, by the way-
But anyhow, just a few hours ago, I finished, COMPLETELY finished, all of my sketching for The River, not including the Cover, which I do not know the dimensions for yet.
but, the Easy Button has been pressed, and with that we know that a milestone has been reached!
Painting will start just as soon as I finish the two commissions in the pipeline. maybe before then. Heaven knows I like to put things off whenever possible x3!

Gifts and Joy Boxes.
Posted 14 years agoUh, so.
When i lost my USB all those months ago (i don't know how many x3) and with it went the sketches for the Gift Art that I owe for the more recent posting of Porta Custodis... so I'll have to re-sketch those, but I'm working on them now, in case any of you were wondering what happened to them.
I've been somewhere squarely between "must nap when i get home from work" and "DRIVEN TO CREATE"
so.
Anyway, Charlie's Joy Box (and also InfinityCat) is at the front of my thoughts right now, and I KNOW that I don't have any money (trust me I do) but I am trying to figure out what we WILL need, in the future, and...
FUCK.
I know why people DON'T put the price of machinery on their pages, but i would very much like to KNOW HOW MUCH THEY COST...
looking at a Texmac SOLO for t-shirt printing and perhaps the Barudan Elite XL (but that is less of an important thing, if indeed anything really is.)
Um. speaking of Charlie's Joy box, I'm looking for some website builders- for both CJB and
zoofonics- CJB has a set design that has to also be incorporated into a store, and ZF should be built into something like WordPress for ease of updates...
but of course i am QUITE BROKE, so I can understand if nobody wants to work for mostly free; (there are various things that I'm willing to offer in return for any help, but of course who knows if any of this will get off of the ground.. uh, ever? so yeah.)
hrm. Other than these things, got some stuff going on behind the scenes, including, for some reason, i can't apply to classes yet. :C
oh, and we're moving a handful of miles north, from Elk Grove to La Riviera- which is, wouldn't you know it, right along the American River! (which is much prettier than the Sacramento River.)
that's extremely close to Sac State but they won't let me transfer unless i have 60 credits or more... and LR is sort of right in between Cosumnes River College and American River College... it's around 25 mins driving both ways, ARC is literally three minutes closer than CRC... Plan for now is welding and spanish.
(haha)

GUESS WHO IS GOING TO MOTHERFUCKING SAN DIEGO
Posted 14 years agoGUESS.
GO ON.
Now that you've guessed WHO,
guess WHY.
Yeah. Fuckin 8/9 years later (yes, i know it's season 11.) and I finally know when the CA auditions are early enough to make it down.
One of my cousins is paying for a place for me to stay about a mile and a half from Petco Park, so now I've got to figure out how to get there- Bus or Car. (plane is expensive. Mom is going to see if she can't work something out, but no promises.) If I bus it's like 72$ to get there (not planning back until I know when.) and driving.. well, I'd be doing it alone, from Sac nearly to the border, which is a long ways, but might be more cost-effective depending on the price of parking- but if i take a bus or a train, then i can take my bike! which gives me an option for getting around town and not having to keep parking my car, and also pretty much chooses my second piece of luggage for me. Asking the hotel about where I'd have to keep it (or more specifically, determining whether or not i can have it in my room) that'll be a deciding factor.
I REALLY don't want to drive, especially since I'd be doing it overnight and would have to do it alone- and also have to reg the nest day- don't want to stress more than I have to...
Anyway, there's my plans :3 (apparently it means that I'm going to miss out on Rafting on sunday D:!)
(ps part of the reason that it took so many years to decide was figuring out if it was worth the trip in case the audition/reg routine worked against me- if nothing else, I figure i can hang out in san diego for a few days. Are any of you people in San Diego? maybe we can be in line together or something. )
Mom is going to see if she can't work something out, but no promises.) That doesn't involve a computer disaster!
Just finished the last few Sketches for the River; all 40 pages can now be seen on the site (link above)-
Now it's time to get into the meat of it- Measuring out the pages on the Arches paper and all that jazz =D

CRISIS.... um. mostly. Averted. ish.
Posted 14 years agoWell, not completely, but thanks to some advice from
shivers (helped me figure out how to get the data that I need off of the Big Computer's hd) and
softpaw (helped me puzzle out how to fix my EHD when i fucked up the file tables) I've got everything of any importance off of the internal- which is good. I haven't had a chance to check it all yet, but it's still there and I think that I can go retrieve it again if I need to...
It's not as organized as I'd like, but it'll do :3
Thank you guys <3

MAYDAY MAYDAY COMPUTER DOWN EJECT EJECT
Posted 14 years agoFUCK YOU COMPUTER.
No, it lived a long time.
But, Uh. the hard drive on my desktop died.
So.
Um.
Yeah.
I can ink on the laptop (kinda) and color on the Mac...
But I've lost the Choir picture until such time as I can pay to recover the files. (whoo.)
In slightly better news, I acquired a free dvd player today. it's total shit but it's also free, so that's alright. it has some problems where if you look at it funny it skips, but otherwise seems to be in alright shape. (it's an Apex, and all of the ones of those that I've had the pleasure of working with have been pretty fycking touchy, so I'm not surprised.)
I've got to send out some stuff tomorrow, for the AC art show, finish paying my rent, then it's groceries and stuff.
I have until the 26 or something of July to show up in court and figure out my traffic tickets... total it comes to over 600.. I'm probably going to have to pull my meager 400$ of savings out of my paypal and use them for my bail...
Also I have noticed some troubling bodily functions which have prompted me to set a doctor's appointment, and all I can do is hope that whatever it is can be resolved fairly cheaply :/
And other than that, uh.
vegan food sucks because they have to invent edible foods.

Bike, Vacation Reschedule, and Work Opportunities.
Posted 14 years agoI got my bike!
http://twitpic.com/4zupar
It's a Jamis Explorer and I love the shit out of it! if all goes well I'll be going in today to get the kickstand for it- they were all out when I went to pick it up last week!
Got some business cards too; http://twitpic.com/4zgdaj ; http://twitpic.com/4zgdag but they misprinted! I'll probably keep them around to hand out at my table at FC, but they're not suitable for just leaving around places. (I kept the info limited on purpose, but I might expand on it when I get a new set with the image bigger.)
Haven't gotten the rest of the Art Show paperwork for AC yet, so I'm getting a little bit antsy, about that, but I have 3 pictures done and framed and such, and I might be able to make one more (though I had been planning on five!)
if all else fails, I'll send Apprehension there and hope that it sells (unlike at FC)
Mom realized the other day that she wouldn't be able to meet her money goal in time to have our vacation to Universal Studios Orlando by early August- and figured that I wouldn't be able to, either (she is right) so she moved it to next year- she was thinking maybe spring break.
SO, still there, but more saving time, which is always awesome.
There's apparently a job opening at Sears, and dad thinks that I might be able to snag it, being both female and a locksmith (of course, we thought that about OSH, too, but let's not be pessimistic!)
It's also been confirmed, I do definitely have that job thing that I mentioned a few posts ago, about a webcomic! (excitement!)
Right now I'm building some environments in Sketchup, so If anybody can help (and wants to, for up to 5$ per completed page that your sets appear in) that would be most fantastic. The idea is to have the sets completed so that it doesn't take as long to map out the bg in every single page- it'll also help keep things more consistent. I'm almost done with the Cafe, but there's a few more that we need for Arc 1.
but anyway~
I have a table booked in the Dealer's Den at FC, will be sharing it with Twix.
I have my CA seller's permit and my EIN from the IRS; I still need to file for a business license for the City of Elk Grove- not looking forward to that since not only does it cost the most money, but I have to physically go to the City Hall to get it- I also need to file a Fictitious Name Statement, but that's only like 27$ and is low on the priority list.
I've been in contact with a few printers, and it's sounding like the cost for The River will be between 3800 and 4200$- the 400$ difference between the two is the difference between an apparently organized company an one that seems to be considerably less so, but I still have two more places to contact before I make a decision.
If I can kick myself into gear, I SHOULD be sending the illustrations to the scanner in, oh, September, but I'm still not done with the sketches, so...
I'm still having difficulty coming up with Kickstarter rewards still, so if you've any ideas or thoughts; or things that you think i should include in the Project Info, feel free to leave them below (or anywhere else you might see me)
Cheers;

Where's the Art? and Other Questions
Posted 14 years agoCOMING, super slow and stuff, but nonetheless, ha-ha.
So, the Choral Cubs picture I have started to do some more shading on. All of the currently-filled slots have been flatted; I should be caught up on that in the next week or so. (slots are still open hint hint nudge nudge)
My two commissions outside of that are in the "almost done" and "had to re-do it but it looks fantastic now" stages, they should both be done soon, god willing.
I also am in the process of what I generally refer to as an interview; "I like your arts, have a big project, let's do some speed/accuracy tests first" and the current one is going well; the previous (for Matt Rat's Desperate Otto and I learned a lot but probably didn't get the job (small though it was)- that's alright though, cuz Rat is an Excellent Guy Who Doesn't Afraid of Anything and, should the opportunity arise, I intend fully to throw as much money as possible at his project.
Anyway, the current one is for a webcomic with bunnies in it, and my fingers are crossed =3
I've also got my new copy of Adobe Design Standard CS5 for Mac coming in the mail in the next few weeks (whoo!) and I'm looking forward to finally being able to play with my Christmas gift from mom!
In other news, I'm about halfway done with the small sketches for The River (I'm up to about page 24 of 42) which of course means that I am etching slowly closer to making the final illustrations.
I had a chat with a printer yesterday, so I should be getting a proper quote in the next few days, and some samples by Tuesday or so (lucky me thinking ahead and putting the rough layout into an easy-to-read word file, seems to have expedited the process quite a bit!)
While Waiting for those things, I'm also in the process of buying a Bicycle for general commuting. All said and done (after things like a bottle cage, kickstand, rear tire rack+saddlebag) it's about 550, and I've got three more payments on it before I get to take it home!
We had to change our summer plans, though (and unfortunately) because since the paypal fund hit 700 it's run stagnant (and actually fallen to 600) - so the new plan is to bring the dragon out the first three weeks of January next year for FC and stuff- plus then He won't die of the heat, so despite the delay, it's still got its plus sides-
Including the fact that I am now free to save up for.. something else (dun dun DUN). Mom and I are losing weight (well, she's losing weight. I think that I'm at this point just improving my cardio ha-ha!) and I've promised her that when she hits the size where she can ride roller coasters again, I'd take her to any theme park that she wanted to go to- and she picked Universal Studios Orlando, which of course means that we also have to go to Disney World (it's a law!) so we're going the first week of August before school starts, because as it stands she's only like three inches away from her goal (She's lost like six already! Go Mom!)
So that's like 1200, and I'm just paying for the hotel and passes (which include 3-day-Disney Tickets, 2-day Universal Studios park hoppers, and one day at Sea World) and she's paying for the plane and souvenirs.
And then of course there's RainFurrest, but let's not get ahead of ourselves >>
I have art going to AnthroCon! One is completely finished, and I have to pick a few more (and perhaps also make them.)
I'm Trying to decide if I want to make/send some business cards along- it seems like mostly a good idea, but I only have so much money.
Anyway, so, I have some questions and opinion requests-
I'm planning on starting a KickStarter campaign to help fund The River; and I need to know a few things:
What sort of stuff would you like to have/see as pledge rewards, and how much would you ideally pay for them? (rewards compound, so what you get in the dollar range you still get in the hundred dollar range, unless otherwise stated.)
And what would you want/need to know about the project before considering funding for it?

The Rules:
- You must post these rules.
- Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
- You have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
- Go to their pages and tell them you tagged them!
1: I'm going deaf in my right ear- because I stick shit in it all the time. to clean the earwax out. (need to do that with cuetips, not pen caps and s screwdrivers)
2: I haven't seen any sort of doctor in over a year, because I don't have the money. (except for the chiropractor, because i get in there for free when mom has an appointment.)
3: Famous Last Words saved my life.
4: I actually haven't liked my body in a long time. I used to, but the more I look at myself, the less I meet my expectations. (i'm TOO SQUARE!)
5: The ladies at Curves love how flamboyant I am. nobody else does, though (cept mom sometimes, and kinfops) so I have to keep it under wraps...
6: I'm a total bitchface when i'm off my meds.
7: i DO NOT understand a LOT of basic human sorts of things. they just fly right the fuck over my head :| it's hard to name them though, because it's not the sort of thing that i keep lists of.
8: I'm one catastrophic event away from being a hoarder- I'm already a massive packrat, but I can still throw things away.
9: we're thinking about starting up a pool to see which auto-immune diseases develop as a result of my disorder.
10: I really want, REALLY, to have, like, a wife. or a husband. You know, that'll stay at home and take care of the kids, or let me stay at home while they go out and work,- a classic family like that, I would love.

FOOL'S DAY HAS MOVED
Posted 14 years agoIt is NO LONGER IN APRIL.
I repeat, FOOL'S DAY IS NO LONGER IN APRIL.
And it hasn't been for years! Thing is, it's been under wraps- see.
Since everybody already associated Fool's day with April first, the Force Of Organized Lunacy had previously decided to keep the new date a SECRET so as to better take advantage of Earth's Fools- your guard is up on April First ONLY, leaving you vulnerable the rest of the year!
However, the Head Prankster decided early last month that, in the interest of fairness, the official observation of fool's day would change to match the actual date observed by tricksters.
Fool's Day is now on Your Birthday.
Yes, You.
This has been an official announcement of the Force Of Organized Lunacy.
Yes, You.

COMPUTER DOWN and other news
Posted 14 years agofirst, let's start with COMPUTER DOWN, since this is obviously the most important thing.
So, I'm sure you already know where this is going, so let me tell you how we got there and where we're going now.
The big computer pretty much went poof- or at least part of it did.
It's not turning on, and yes, we did make sure that it was plugged in. We had a power out a few nights ago (either a line down or a severe brown out.) there were two things plugged into that set of outlets, 3/4 things plugged into the same surge protector/power strip- everything else is fine. Mom said that when the power went out, the computer made a loud "Poof" sound. . . we think that the only thing that kersploded was the electrical part where the power cable plugs in, (we are fairly certain that everything else is probably fine) so we're going to PLAY ENGINEER to see if we can make a compenstein monster and get the stuff that I need off of the hard drive- if not then I'll be taking it down to somebody who knows what they're doing to retrieve that info, because it's my art computer and, seriously, I need it.
This brings me to my next point-
Digital art is on hold. I'm going to retool one of my iron artist commissions to be watercolor so at least he doesn't have to wait, but the Choral Cubs picture is officially on hold until I can retrieve the info. . . if it turns out that for some reason we can't, I'll post another journal containing Plan B.
As a change of subject (and probably the last thing for today, unless I think of something else before I finish the journal)- I got an agent for the AnthroCon Art Show <3 I've got the form filled out and it's EVEN IN AN ENVELOPE so GOD FRIKKING WILLING it will actually make it into the mailbox tomorrow.
Cheers!
