Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

New story is in the works, currently have about 14.5k solid words with another healthy 200k on the way to being polished. If any of you all want to see what 6 years of hell does to someone, "it's a Warrior Cats fanfic" should give you some insight.

Getting fairly close to a finished chapter 1, chapter 2 and 3 are in the works. Everything is still way shorter than I remember being able to write, but what can you do when you've been out of it this long, eh?

So, opinions on length and content are encouraged, as well as general criticism. When I post an actual chapter and not what is effectively a teaser :p

I have a feeling the longer chapters will be the ones that contain more action than setup, and I may end up combining the first few into one since they're thematically similar enough to warrant it, but I also want to push out some content. Balancing acts are not my strong point

So there's a program on Steam known as Nimble Writer. It's been sitting on my wishlist for a while, and I couldn't justify the expense until a couple days ago.

Holy. Crap.

I don't know what it is, but somehow the design of it makes time disappear and words appear. The last time I wrote this much in a day was probably close to 10 years ago now, on a crap PC during school to pass the time.

And it has ACHIEVEMENTS. I am motivated by the messages telling me "hey you've written 2k words today". The live tracker shows character count, paragraph count, WORD count, and you personal bests.

Already in the past few days I've managed to pound out 2 chapters of my first major project in a while, consisting of mostly universe building and backstory of my current sona. I could just write a bio, but it's so much more fun to bring him to life and give him hopes and dreams and purpose, right?

I'm going to keep from posting it until I've finished it completely, or at least through the first arc, because I'm a heartless bastard who wants to drum up anticipation and leave you wanting more. To facilitate this, I'm just polishing up a forward to be posted before too long, Nothing major, just a couple hundred words and more questions than answers for you guys, and a nod to someone who has been bugging me to write this thing for MONTHS now.

So yes, you can blame October for this

So after much stress and wringing of ribbons, I finally have something to look forward to. All projects are on hold, since my computer required a reformat and all my documents (which I managed to save somehow) are, of course, in .docx. So I can't exactly work on them, much less read them or my notes, until I re-acquire my word processing programs. That's on hold for now as more important matters are at hand.

I'm going to be at Anthrocon with  October and hopefully I'll get to meet some people from the community (a thing i have really not made a point of doing yet).

Additionally, I'm hoping to soon be starting regular game streams of Elite Dangerous, Payday 2, and possibly some Overwatch once I acquire it. Potentially looking to supplement my horridly small amount of income with tips and subs on Twitch, eventually, and possibly on Youtube as well, if I can navigate the landmines of copyright they love to throw out.


And finally, as all my writing is on hold, it's given me more time to dedicate to my brainstorming and world building. Hopefully something comes of it, but if not, I'll still see what I can motivate myself to get done.

So yeah, no sad things here, a few things to look forward to, and possibly more news to come later in the month.

Massive lack of all productivity or cheerfulness for the foreseeable future

As my week with  October has ended, my next couple of weeks are going to be filled with determinat-- I mean, motivation.

Next on my docket is to write up a short Cafe Plaisir piece based on the piece I won from  Dark Violet , which I will probably be posting as the cover art should my work be of sufficient quality to warrant it. Hopefully people appreciate the dangers of breaking a fairy type a bit more after they see what happens when you get between said broken Fairy and his.. well that's a story for later I think, and one that has the right to be told by a certain crimson Ninetails.

While I'm working on that, I'll be finishing up the next piece of Forged from Steele, likely another fairly short chapter to get some world building out of the way. You'll get to meet the rest of the main cast, and see the fortress that is the Guild HQ. Get inside the mind of Cysus and see how he thinks, while watching the threat that looms beyond the hills approaching.

And a final bit of news: I'll be at Anthrocon 2016 barring total financial collapse of the dollar or emergency relocation due to national disaster...or Trump. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces and maybe meet some new friends too, after I drag myself out of the hotel room I'm sharing with a certain sexy cat.

This will be my first furry con (5th con overall), so I am somewhat nervous. Already got a buddy who is going and has offered to split a room with me, so that's settled at least. Now I just need to magic up the money for plane fare (or train fare, if it ends up being cheaper) and enough cash to actually con and not just wander for 3 days...

In other news, I may be moving some time this year. Not sure where, when, or how badly my budget will be fucked up by it but here's hoping I can move from 3/4ths income to rent to something more...sane...

Finally, after weeks of being much, MUCH below my baseline, I finally manged to kick back to something resembling normal for me.

For all of 10 hours. Then I find out my energy company has managed to MISPLACE my service account, my bank account balance was LITERALLY 2 cents too low to fund the patreons I support (giving yet another overdraft fee), and no less than 3 people are using my physical mail address. Then, as if that wasn't enough to dampen any good mood, not one, not two, not three, but SIX friend almost simultaneously decide today is the day they've picked to confront me about something I have done/not done/said I'd do but didn't/they misunderstood what I said and it's ended up hurting them.

Thanks universe, I guess I didn't need to do anything productive after all, I'll just get back into bed for another week and continue to waste away.

Feels like every time I sit down to write I want to write something that reflects my current mood. Unfortunately, not every chapter can be a depressfest, so I'm completely stuck for now.

My living situation being as tenuous as it is, stress and loneliness are taking over and I'm just along for the ride right now because of my lease. No danger of homelessness yet, but my parents made some awful decisions that lead to me and my dad in olive garden yesterday forced to call my mom to dip into their savings. For a 40 dollar light lunch. Immediately after I got 350 bucks refunded to my dad. So yeah, I'm worried.

Right now my tenuous plan is give my current situation a few months to stabilize... Or not...and then cash out and move in with my boyfriend in the UK, temporarily or otherwise. The problem, of course, is he's got nowhere for me to stay and no experience in finding a new place, so I'm stuck in limbo.

Limbo is bad for my mental health in ideal situations, and right now I'm down TV and my good computer. I dunno, maybe I'm whining over nothing but usually I can pick myself up from this kind of thing in a week. It's been 2.

Tentative post date of TOMORROW (That'd be Sunday in Western Europe and the states, roughly speaking) for first chapter, assuming I can finish up the last few edits remaining and give it a pass by a few friends who have all but forced my muse to return to this plane of existence after an extended absence. Not sure how long this will end up being but I'm gonna say tentatively that there will be between 10 and 20 chapters all told and there will be next to no pattern to the posting, so expect a "final" chapter sometime this side of the apocalypse and the other side of today.

When not only do you manage to write nearly 2 full chapters after having damn near nothing produced in over 3 years, but you make an intro plug for the project, set up some character interaction for later, and generally pull a plot out of your ass practically all in one sitting.

That, and the gunfight I heard didn't kill anyone I know and I only MIGHT have 1 bullet hole in the exterior wall of my apartment.

Also, confirmed that the police response time DOES beat the pizza guy here! Not by a whole lot, but yes, better to dial them than Dominos for help!

Last night I managed to have a dream that made me stop and take notice (and many, many notes) as soon as I woke up. There may yet be a fic out on this page if the trend continues, although I kind of hope that I can stop having dreams that so blatantly ignore the laws of physics and cause quadruple (or greater) crossovers in the future...

Seeing as my boyfriend just bought me GTA 5 for PC, and I've recently dusted off my Xbox 360...and Steam is still a thing that exists...

I'm back into online gaming across various platforms.

Things I will probably be doing in the near future regarding these: Twitch, getting a crew together for GTA Heisting, Evolve games, Final Fantasy 14.
