More commission info: chibis and stickers
General | Posted 7 years agoThis is more of a gauging interest journal than anything, but I wanted to make a journal since I'm thinking about offering chibis as a new commission type soon. I don't tend to draw chibis much but I think they work with my style really well and I could probably have a lot of fun with them, so I'd love to know who would be interested! I'll come up with some examples and post them here too if that'll help. I was also unsure about the pricing, but I'm thinking $10 or so depending on how long I figure it takes me. Thoughts and feedback both are appreciated on this.
I also recently mentioned Telegram stickers and have done them in the past for a friend, and I was interested in offering them again but also unsure about the level of interest/pricing; I'm sure a lot of people would like stickers, but it's a lot of work for me and I worry about timing when it comes to these things, even though I have yet to have anyone complain to me about how slow and perfectionist I am with my art BUT it's still the thing I stress over the most with commissions. The other thing is pricing, because frankly I haven't been able to find a consistent reference for what a set of stickers would cost (I've seen a range of $25-$60), so I guess if anyone knows what a good price would be for like a set of 6 vs a set of 12 let me know?

MANY COMMISSIONS OPEN!
General | Posted 7 years agoActually just two types. I usually make journals about this stuff so here I go.
First and foremost, I ask that you please read my Terms of Service before ordering a commission. I can't offer lenience if you ask for something detailed in there that I won't draw, or don't follow the process. For the pinup commissions, please also look at the will/won't draw list so you know the kind of kinks and subject matters I will and won't do.
Please do not commission me until you've read the below links, and are sure you like my art!
THE DOCS
◇Terms of Service◇
◇Will/Won’t Draw List◇
THE COMMISSIONS
Pinup Commissions: $30-$45
Simple, full-color, full-body (or half body) pinups.
Headshot Commissions: $15
Simple headshot commissions, 1200x1300 pixels.
As always, I thank everyone for sticking around, and dealing with my hyper-organizational and anal retentive methods of going about literally everything >< Refresher
General | Posted 7 years agoHi I just wanted a new journal on my page. How is everyone.
Also I might be doing headshot commissions soon 👍

Retro World Expo
General | Posted 7 years agoSO I'm very excited about this and I wanted to say that I'm gonna be tabling at Retro World Expo in the fall with a friend of mine! It's my first time selling at a convention ever so I'm very scared but very excited fdghsjfgh
My friend is PaperDawN and you should check out his stuff cause it's really cute and unique. We'll be there as LazyDawn because we couldn't think of anything else LOL
I’ll probably post pictures and stuff when the time comes. If you’re gonna be there let me know!
If anyone has any tips btw…I’ll take all the help I can get. I’m a novice at printing/sending things in to make stickers and stuff out of. I’ll be selling some pre-existing stuff as well as new things I’m working on right now.

Lewd Twitter
General | Posted 7 years agoI know I mentioned this a while back, but I made an alt nsfw Twitter account. Probably will contain more sketches than this blog and also dumb tweets about stuff. So far it’s just a backlog but since it’s Twitter there’ll be more WIPs and stuff I don’t post here as often
Private message me for the name if you’re interested. I will NOT give the name if you're anonymous for personal reasons. Just remember that I still reserve the right to not give the name for those personal reasons too.
The account is protected, PLEASE don't spread it around.
Feel free to mute or unfollow if you find it's not your thing, it’s cool.

General | Posted 7 years agoIf anyone has joined at all, I just joined as part of the 4B wave so come find me if you want! I'm plutoeffo on there because I cannot decide what name I want to stick with
I've already joined a bunch of communities including the furry, chao, pokemon, kirby, and gaming ones, probably more. It's looking pretty cool so far and it feels like a breath of fresh air after being on tumblr and twitter for so long.
Also small update on the tablet thing, the eBay seller thankfully accepted my return request so I'm getting my money back ;u; It's too bad I'm gonna have to lose some work but it's kinda worth it in the end

Stupid tablet problems
General | Posted 7 years agoThis journal is pretty much just for complaining as I don't really have anything to update on.
I recently purchased a Cintiq Companion W1300, and it's absolutely magical and I love drawing on it. It feels so natural and perfect, I love being able to take it anywhere, like damn. Good shit.
Stupid me though, bought it second hand from eBay; it now doesn't turn on anymore and won't take a charge. This is something that I'm surprised I didn't see at all when I was researching the product, but I feel kinda stupid for not finding it out at all because it's apparently a SUPER rampant problem with these models. The problem with me buying it from eBay is the fact that I'm not totally sure Wacom will honor my request for a repair/return since I'm not the original buyer.
So I'm just kinda mad and sad and not glad because I was really happy and motivated to draw again and now I can't use the thing. I'm gonna contact Wacom, if they can't help me, I'll try to get my money back via eBay and just stick with my previous one. It's overheat-y and clunky and I can't take it with me anywhere, but it turns on and works fine. :I

Temporarily Closing
General | Posted 8 years agoClosing commissions for now until I get my shit together! Work has been really screwing me and I'd like to open them up when I actually have the time to dedicate to art for people. I'll update when I'm ready for them again!
Feel free to ask me to reserve a slot for you for when I DO re-open, but that won't rush me into opening them up again so please keep that in mind.

Lewd blog bump
General | Posted 8 years agoJust a reminder to everyone that I have a NSFW blog on tumblr where I often post WIPs and sketches and other stuff that I don't post here or even my alt account as often, and I also like to take suggestions on there. I'm feeling a lot better about my art these days so I'll be using it a lot more.
Mostly titties and boys tied up all snugly.

Minor gallery purge
General | Posted 8 years agoIn organizing my gallery today I kinda came to the decision to delete certain old submissions from it. To be clear, I'm only going to be deleting the ones related to a very tumultuous and traumatic time in my life, because while I'm okay now, I really wish to just remove all of the remains of it from the internet. I was needlessly melodramatic about everything. And I also don't really care for the times when I go into my gallery, forget they're there, and feel crappy and embarrassed looking at them blah blah
I'm not sure how many of my current active followers were also around during that time, but it's much better if you weren't, and I also want to thank those who were and still stuck around.
I think the most jarring part of my gallery (and also looking at my sketchbooks, my personal archives) is that you can absolutely tell when things went to shit just by looking at my art style and what I focused on drawing. It goes from fun and bubbly and silly to uh, really angsty, fearful, and just dark overall. I think over the years I've tried to reconcile those two styles as I slowly returned to normal but I really think that I just never recovered art-wise from it, which would explain why art has been such a huge source of angst and frustration for me for the past few years. It's honestly very upsetting to look at because I feel that my youth was cut short. I'd like to go back to fun and bubbly at some point, drawing what I used to draw and enjoying it.
I haven't started the purge yet, but I will very shortly. Again, I'm still keeping most things, just deleting those specific ones that I don't want here anymore. I still have them on my HDDs still but not here.

Schedule updates relevant to commissions!
General | Posted 8 years agoSo it's been about a month or so, but I did get my job into place where I wanted to work. So I'm no longer unemployed, thank goodness.
This doesn't actually change that much, but since I'm getting a small influx of commission requests now, I'm gonna update everyone on my work hours vs commission hours vs days off.
I work a night shift until 10ish, so I'm free during the daytime; however, the holidays are also making my daytimes much more busy. In any case, most of the work I do on commissions is going to be late-night after I get off my job, or in the daytime whenever I can.
My DAYS OFF include Friday nights and the weekends! If I do any commission work during this time, it's an anomaly and I don't want it to be expected of me. These are also times where I won't usually be able to communicate either.
I've started using my Trello again too since my commission prices have been updated. This is still kind of a WIP, but check back often because I update important info and art status whenever I can.
You can feel free to contact me any time and I'll respond at my earliest convenience, I do like to make things snappy!

Copypants! (art reposting stuff)
General | Posted 8 years agoRecently this tool came up for artists to find their work being used online in places without their knowledge or permission and it's really handy.
https://www.copypants.com/
So far I've use it for my main art blog, and most of the results are just gramunion and other tumblr search engine stuff, or images that I have personally crossposted to other art sites.
HOWEVER, when plugging in my lewd blog, I'm getting a lot of not so good results; a LOT of people have reposted my lewd art, specifically my femboy art! I wanted to call attention to this because some of those femboys are characters who don't belong to me, they belong to friends and commissioners, and that makes me double uncomfortable. I guess I should've expected that though.
And an uncomfortable amount of it is on Pinterest too...which is why I hate Pinterest ><
But anyway, I highly recommend this site because it does all the legal work for you too. Here's the tumblr post where I discovered it: https://ultrarainpants.tumblr.com/p.....al-artists-out

Commissions closing & semi-hiatus
General | Posted 8 years agoSummary: things are getting kinda slow and stale with me and my art so we’re taking a very amiable break. Nothing major. The spark will be back. (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
I forgot to post something about this here, but I’m taking a slight hiatus from art and posting for a while. Posting has been pretty on and off for quite some time anyway, so I figured I’d make it official for now. Frankly, drawing has been nothing but stressful and unrewarding for me for over a year now and mostly what it does these days is exhaust and upset me. I get in slumps all the time, my art is too inconsistent to sell and I have a hard time interacting with followers. Clearly something is not really working out and I just feel very demoralized about all of it.
I think taking “time off” will take a lot of the pressure off and help me actually be happy creating things again. Maybe. I just want to draw and not worry about posting things and what people will think. I will probably still post a thing or two like I have been, but from now on it’ll only be when I want to and not from the pressure to update. And I’ll still be online and happy to talk.
Thanks to those who still support me after all of this.

Let's talk about furries
General | Posted 8 years agoI made this post on my tumblr today but I thought it would be relevant here in an interesting way. Some people may have noticed I've been feeling really down and uninspired about art for quite a while now. And I apologize in advance for the art angst. OTL
I realized I kind of stopped/slowed down drawing furry/anthro art about two or three-ish years ago because it kinda became a big joke and I actually started to feel embarrassed/ashamed of it, especially because all of the new art friends I made were above me, in my eyes, and also had this crazy ignorance about furry art in general. I never identified as “a furry” myself and always just drew the art because it was fun to do. People started calling me a furry in jest, which was funny for a while but as is the natural progression of my sensitive self, it began to really bother me and wonder if people really saw things so black and white like that, and it also made me wonder if I was being put into a box. To me, it was always just art, I liked to draw cute characters. I didn’t think it was such a huge deal. Now I’ve kind of figured out that it mostly had to do with the fact that I’d spent a lot of time growing up on the internet. While I was finishing high school and going into college, I came into contact with a bunch of well-adjusted, “normal” people, so I was really shaken by how different things were in that respect. People’s views seemed more shallow.
I’m bringing this up because I believe that’s a huge part of why I’ve been hating my art and just not having fun with it for a while, because I kinda gave up drawing a thing I really enjoy drawing. Because it became a joke and a meme, just like everything fucking is these days. I’m just as comfortable drawing humans and monster people and such, but I shut out this one subject matter for so long just because I felt judged or afraid of being judged. And I know some will see this post and still go, “haha, that was a funny post you made, you’re such a memer,” but whatever, this is really how I feel and if my feelings are funny to you then I actually ask that you unfollow me. I do realize I’m bringing plenty of this upon myself, because I overthink and assume the worst, so it’s probably not as big a deal as it feels to me. I’ve just forgotten how the anthro/furry art community played a big part in my inspiration and growth in art when I was young, is a big reason I began digital art, and has introduced me into so many great artists, whether or not they even draw the furry subject matter. Those here on FA who have been watching me for some time definitely have seen that process happen.
AND yeah, I’m very aware of the gross and toxic parts of the furry community, and yeah it’s fun to joke about sometimes, but it gets really old. Especially to someone like me who’s hypersensitive about my art and internalizes shit like there’s no tomorrow. Again, I don’t consider myself a furry, idk what makes someone a furry really and I honestly have never known. I always considered it subjective. So if YOU consider me a furry, that’s fine, I really don’t care either way. Just let me do my thing. I just want to draw stuff. I apologize again for the rant; I really am just an angsty and emotional individual and I appreciate my friends and followers putting up with it all the time. (´;A;`)

Patreon questions/help/poll
General | Posted 8 years agoOnce again I’m considering this, now that I know a little more about it. But I still need a little help figuring out what to offer or what people would like to see me output; this is fueled by supporters after all.
I also plan on making this paywall-free, or at least a $1 minimum pledge, because I know how it is to be broke. That’s why I’m doing this Patreon thing in the first place! (*゚ー゚)ゞ
This is a poll on my Twitter so hop on over there and vote just so I can get a good visual idea of what people think. The possibilities are:
1. My regular finished art
2. Cute pinups (nothing hardcore)
3. A variable mix/just everything
4. Commissions by pledge? (still kinda researching this)
5. Other (a slot for you to suggest things)

In light of my struggle with reference sheets - VOTE
General | Posted 8 years agoI'm biting the bullet and starting them now, and I want to know WHO it is that YOU are most interested in seeing get reff'd up NEXT. I'm only asking about my furry OCs and my chao gijinkas for now.
I've already got a Fiona one mostly done, so the next contenders are:
Hattie 1|2
Bailey 1|2(on the left)
Sammy 1|2
Tiamat 1|2
Pilvi 1|2
Brighty 1|2 (on the right in both pictures)
Provided example images because I haven't drawn some of these guys in ages, and some of my watchers are new to my characters. Some images are nsfw, be warned.
So basically, let me know which ones you'd like to see first! If there are other characters you want to suggest, just comment and I might switch around the list.
(There are many other characters in queue, but I'm not focusing on them right now. My furry and chao canons will have similar formulas for reference sheets since they're both simple drama/slice of life stories, so character sheets for the "game" people and CP will be on the back burner for now.)
Also, FA needs a better fucking text editor

Reference sheets advice
General | Posted 8 years agoSince I have zero (decent) reference sheets for the characters I use most, I really want to make some, but I get so burnt out every time I get about halfway through and I don't really know what I'm doing.
I'm looking for advice from fellow artists or those experienced working with artists creating reference sheets; is there a most effective method or steps you usually take? How do you prevent the sheet from looking too busy? And most of all, how polished do they usually need to look?
I know most of this is pretty subjective, but I honestly feel like there's some reference sheet culture I just completely missed out on and I don't know what to expect LOL
Maybe it's not as big of a deal and I'm expecting rules that don't exist, but it's honestly the thing I dread most but something I need to do very much.

Alt adult account up
General | Posted 8 years agoThoughts on a separate account for adult art?
General | Posted 8 years agoI had a thought last night that maybe I should make another account just for my NSFW art, and at the time it seemed like the most genius idea EVER and I vowed to do it first thing in the morning. But I can't actually remember why I had the thought in the first place.
It would be beneficial for my own personal organization, but I'm not sure how many of my watchers would be interested, or if they'd rather keep seeing all of my stuff come out of this account? Mostly, I want to know how many people watched me for my NSFW art and aren't too interested in the rest, so I would make a new account for that work and that work alone for people to watch.
I may or may not continue to submit adult art on this one though, I guess that depends on feedback. The only downside would be that if you continued watching both accounts, you'd just get double notifications for lewd art. I really don't know how I wanna do it yet.
Sorry for the ramble, let me know what you think.「(°ヘ°)
It would be beneficial for my own personal organization, but I'm not sure how many of my watchers would be interested, or if they'd rather keep seeing all of my stuff come out of this account? Mostly, I want to know how many people watched me for my NSFW art and aren't too interested in the rest, so I would make a new account for that work and that work alone for people to watch.

It's still embryonic because I'm actually pretty bad at using Trello, but this is where I'll be posting updates on commissions from now on. Apparently you can also comment and stuff on it there too, so you can do that if you want. Hurray!

What kind of stuff would you like to see?
General | Posted 8 years agoI've never made a journal like this before but I feel it may help me get a bit inspired since I've been having a bad creative block for the past month or so. If anyone has anything they want to suggest, or anything they would like to see from me (or see more of) I'd really love to hear from you! If your favorite stuff is my fan art, original characters, the weird stuff, or the pinups, or something else, let me know. I'm also VERY open to critique, so if there's a bad pattern you see that you think I could work on (objectively of course), or just general advice you feel I'd benefit from, that's extremely helpful. I think a big part of the problem is that I have a hard time remembering what I enjoy drawing. LIKE ADORABLE FEMBOYS AND PINUPS RRRRR
I also used to be pretty social on FA, and I'm not so much anymore, and I kinda miss that. I don't talk much to people I watch because I feel so out of place, since everyone seems to have their own social circles which have been around for a long time. But I just want to clarify that even though I seem very withdrawn, I'm not gonna bite. I do love to talk to my watchers too.
FINALLY, the school semester is ending for me, so I'm going to me writing up and putting together a full range of commission prices soon, including colors! The prices will be higher than the current tiers, but the current tiers will also still be available (I might bump those up just a bit though). I'll update ASAP with the info.
Thank you so much everyone for watching and supporting me. ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
