I thought nobody read my journals because nobody ever comments on them, but apparently they do read them... I guess they just have nothing to add. Do I talk too much?

My house's internet connection is completely busted at this time. I believe the modem might be malfunctioning. That's the second one in five years, too. Right now I'm leeching off my neighbors' wi-fi from a tiny, crummy, slow old laptop that only works smoothly when it feels like it. Skype doesn't work correctly on it, so I've uninstalled it. Can't attend any streams from it because it seems to hate them the most. It will remain like this until the problem is fixed, which might not be soon...

No idea what the problem is. My (jerkass) grandparents have had the government's internet service (same as ours) for over ten years and it works perfectly for them. No word yet from a neighbor who also has the same service, because he's not home. Like I've said, I suspect modem malfunction. The power button hasn't been working right for a while and the indicator lights somehow got bent to the side for no reason; could have escalated from there. Can't open it because it's made in China and heat-sealed. One cable, the one that goes from it to the wall socket, is partially exposed (or at least the outermost insulation material is teared up), but that never seemed to be a problem.

EDIT: Apparently Web Skype now exists. So I can still be reached through there.

UPDATE: Said neighbor fixed it with a very homebrew solution; duct-tape something to hold the on/off button in place. It's still not the best solution, and there should be an ideal one... but nothing is ideal in this country anymore.

I'm back home from my trip. To be 100% honest, it became a nightmare pretty quickly, but I still had some fun.

Back to feeling like I have completely failed as a human being.

Don't you hate it when you're checking out messages and there's a whole lot of "comment on the X has been deleted" that you now have to get rid of? At least you could tell me where it was deleted from and what did it say! Then I'd have an idea if it's because the X itself was deleted or because I said something inappropiate!
