Posted 14 years agoI've been a poop. An awful poop and you all have my greatest apologies. Art has just not been on my side this last year at all and I've had a lot of trouble even just starting projects let alone pushing myself to finish them. It's even been affecting my personal art projects. I don't think I'm cut out for large scale commissions, at least not anything larger that icons, sculptures, or very simple pieces. I need to step back and work on my productivity before I can accept commissions outside those categories again.
TL;DR I am offering REFUNDS to any commissioner who would like one which will be sent out on this next wednesday (8/3). Send me a note or email ( okiwarwolf[at]derpymail.com ) with your paypal address as soon as you can if you would like a refund. I can still try to work on your commission if you'd like but if you'd rather have your money back I will send the refund.
Again, I'm very sorry and hope this doesn't sour our artist-customer relationship too much.

So due to the recent hack, I decided I should throw my email up and an alternate place to find me should anything happen again. Once again, I have no plans to leave FA. I've gotten myself settled here and would prefer to continue having this as my main posting account.

This Time Maybe I'll Be Bulletproof

A quick update, as I'm so very tired. I've been back from Texas for a couple of weeks now. My grandma passed away quietly early one morning while I was there. A good chunk of her children and a couple grandchildren aside from me sat at her bedside for her last moments. I'm still a little uneasy over the whole thing. It's a very different experience when you've never dealt with it before.
Regardless, I've been working on the art I owe, albeit at a slow pace. I want to really thank everyone who commissioned me in my time of need last month, you guys really helped me pull through and it means a lot to me <3 I've got a couple days off from work coming up, I'll see if I can't focus long enough get a couple things done in that time.
I'll be sure to check in again soon, hopefully with a pawful of art in tow.

Good News For People Who Love Bad News

So in the last two days, this month has gone from "things might be a little tight but no biggie" to "the worst month holy shit". My grandma's dying, much faster than we expected. Her cancer has started moving into her brain. We were hoping she'd make it to christmas but even her best case scenario makes that a pretty unlikely thing. I'm going to have to leave this month, most likely next week to go see her for what's very likely my last time doing so.
I'm short on cash, luckily my dad is chipping in for my airfare but as far as my bills at home go I can't afford to take the time off work. I'm hoping I can switch enough shifts to just line up my days off and not lose any time like I was able to do for CFT, but I don't know how easy this will be with such short notice.
I'm thinking of throwing out some kind of commission special to help with the costs but I can't think of what. I'm too preoccupied to think of some kind of hot sell.
I guess this is just to let everyone know communication will be spotty with me for the rest of the month. This news is hitting me kind of hard so I won't be around quite as much as I usually am until this all passes... :<

I could have been back earlier this month, but a few things came up and sucked away my funds, including an emergency with my dog that turned out to just be a really bad stomach ache (thank god I work at a vet).
Unfortunately I didn't really do much drawing over my hiatus (but I did do just enough to get some outstanding commissions taken care of). I'm thinking I'm gonna do that 30 Day Challenge going around, just to get some creative juices flowing. I have to put away some funds for art supplies, I've been really wanting to sculpt some more or start working with markers more but I'm running out of sculpey and prisma markers are balls expensive.
Commissions are still open! Because I need all the excuses I can get to draw more!

Posted 15 years agoHoly shit I've been busy. I got a job! :D I'm now a full time kennel attendant at a veterinary clinic/boarding kennel. I totally get paid to play with dogs and cats all day and I love it. I'm so excited that I found a great job that I can eventually make a career out of if I so choose (such as becoming a vet tech). All my coworkers are wonderful and awesome and most of the animals I've met so far are so sweet. I'm so happy to have a job again, especially one like this, I'm even actively drawing again :>
Now for the important part- COMMISSIONERS, if you've been waiting on something, I should be able to mail in out to you by the end of the month. Holy shit, I've taken too long, but I will make it up to those of you I have something to mail.
Also important, I have money so I can go to CFT (now I just need the time offand a ride RIDE FOUND :D). I really hope the other parts to my attendance fall into place because I don't want to miss the first year we make this a con. If there's any furry con I want to do every year, it's this one, because fuck yes camping and with all my favorite furries at that.

In more important news, art is coming, I've been really depressed about not having/finding a job still so my motivation to create has been super low. I'm really sorry to those who are waiting on things from me but rest assured I haven't forgotten you. I'm still working on things whenever I manage find a way to break free of the depression for a little while during my day.
Hopefully the job thing turns around, I'm getting sick of shooting my resume off into space only to be disappointed.

Colds are balls
Posted 16 years agoI've had a cold for the better part of the week and it's made me fairly miserable. Especially since while I've been sick we had a nice three days straight of sun and nice weather that I was unable to enjoy. I've even had to miss a career fair I was hoping to attend today.
Since it's hard to be productive with my head all floaty, commissions and such will be slowed down until I can kick this thing in it's ass. Hopefully I'll be better by the weekend. Sweet god hopefully because I hate being sick when I have better things to do.

Still looking for a job, stilling grinding out commissions.
