After missing several years, I'm looking forward to a drama free con. If anyone feels inclined to start drama with me, I will give you a short answer, and ask you to leave me alone. If it persists I won't hesitate to report anyone to staff for harassment.

Posted 11 years ago2014: Lucas and I only went to one convention this year, back in March, but it was up in Vancouver and we had a great time.
Lucas and I also had a little overnight trip to Julian this summer which was amazing. We enjoyed the little town, and had a wonderful visit at the Wolf Center.
My Dad and I went on an epic journey in October. We got to see Zion after not being in years, both got to visit Salt Lake City for the first time (the Hoggle Zoo is wonderful btw), and we got to revisit Yellowstone, and really enjoyed our time there.
I also finally started my long dental treatment, which began with braces in February, and had the big surgery just FIVE weeks ago!
2015 is already ramping up to be an exciting year full of new and great things. I'm going to be moving down to Vista, with Lucas in the springtime. I'll also be continuing with my dental work, and should really start to see all the improvements being made, and begin to appreciate and use all the new benefits of having a correct bite.
Let's go 2015!
Lucas and I also had a little overnight trip to Julian this summer which was amazing. We enjoyed the little town, and had a wonderful visit at the Wolf Center.
My Dad and I went on an epic journey in October. We got to see Zion after not being in years, both got to visit Salt Lake City for the first time (the Hoggle Zoo is wonderful btw), and we got to revisit Yellowstone, and really enjoyed our time there.

The Prancing Skiltaire vs In N Out Burger
Posted 11 years agoThe Prancing Skiltaire (aka “The PS”) is a monthly gathering of furries in Southern California. This meet has been going on at the home of Mark Merlino since mid-end of 2005. I began attending this meet up in late 2006.
Back then, small groups of us would walk down the street to the local In N Out burger to grab food. The PS probably had maybe 100 people on a busy night at this time. I continued to attend the PS for many years, and every year the meets have gotten bigger and bigger. People started getting fursuits, at first we’d maybe have 5 fursuits on a good night, that number as well started to grow as fursuits became easier to obtain, and people began making their own. Soon, it became a part of the evening for everyone who had one, to get into fursuit and go on a walk to In N Out, with everyone else in tow. We’d all go hang out, and grab dinner.
I don’t attend the PS nearly as often anymore, but I did happen to attend this last Saturday night, July 12th. There had to be 200 people, easily. The main street and adjacent streets were full of cars and parking was hard to find, the front yard was packed, the house was crowded. I met up with a couple of old time friends, and eventually we did as you do, and we headed to In N Out.
When we get there, the manager and a guy from corporate headquarters are there, informing people that this is the last night they'll be allowed to come to In N Out for their gathering.
To be completely honest, I believe this has been a long time coming.
There has been property damage done to their outdoor seating area, as a result of the continued strain we pose to the area each month. The grass has been completely dead for a couple of years, reduced to bare dirt. The bricks in their walls are crumbling, some with exposed rebar from having people sit and climb on them. The wrought iron fence around the perimeter is loose all over from people climbing on it, standing on it, hanging on it and what have you. There is always a TON of trash, to where the trash cans are overflowing and the employees can't even get to the trashcans to empty them.
There is also the constantly growing issue of people overflowing the area, blocking the drive thru, and blocking spaces in the parking lot. A few years ago, people used to bring their cars over, and pump music from their stereos until that became a problem and it eventually had to stop. Some people may not realize it, but they also borderline harass the other normal patrons of the restaurant. On several occasions I’ve seen furs constantly attempt to gain attention from the normal patrons, beyond the obvious clues that these people want nothing to do with them.
Another problem is, a lot of people who come to In N Out are actually loitering. I don’t know the real numbers, so I will just simply state that it’s obvious not everyone who is there has ordered food. And even for those that do, the meetup continues on well beyond the time of the majority of people eating their food. I will admit guilt to this even myself, as not every night would I order something.
Right away, many people started to complain about this being an issue of discrimination, “just because we’re furries”. People said they were going to boycott all In N Outs, they said they wanted to create a storm on social media, someone threw out the word “discrimination lawsuit” and some people even talked about calling the local news and trying to get a story done on how furries are being discriminated. I’m here to tell you this has absolutely nothing to do with being a furry. This everything to do with all of the reasons I’ve listed above, and this particular establishment simply not being able to handle it anymore.
If you want to boycott In N Out, then go right ahead. If you want to say “They’re just being a bunch of dicks/mean/discriminating against me!” then you’re wrong. If you say “They’ll be sorry! They’ll lose so much business because of us!” Honestly, not very likely. It’s an In N Out. Have you seen how busy any In N Out is on any given Saturday night? And also, don’t you think they’ve considered that and weighed it against the problems the group has caused?
I personally noticed in more recent years the annoyed attitudes of the employees whenever the group is there. So again, no one should really be oh so surprised by this. According to the man from corporate, they are actually getting a renovation of their outdoor seating area, and are thus banning large groups entirely, which extends to car enthusiasts meets and similar.
Again, if you want to boycott In N Out, then you’re more than welcome to, Just please do it the right way. Eat a late lunch before you arrive, make plans to eat after the meet, bring your own food/snacks, or even contribute to the potluck. Write well written, polite letters to In N Out if you’d like to, explaining your disappointment that we can’t meet there anymore. If you want to continue to eat there, my advice would be to walk there, without any badges, tails, etc, order your cheeseburger, and take it back to the house, or elsewhere.
Don’t go calling the news, or making a bigger stir of this than it needs to be. If you call the news, and cry discrimination, and someone from In N Out goes on to say that’s simply not allowing large groups, and were to cite the damages caused to their patio, that would put a bad image of furries in the media, and we don’t need that kind of press.
Honestly, this is just another in the list of restaurants in the local area that has asked this group to no longer give them their business (Artist Crawfish Express, and Denny’s are the two I know of). As long as we allow other people within the group to display improper behavior to the local restaurants in the area, then the list is going to continue to grow.

2013 was a year of big changes. It was very rough at first, but now things are great and I don't think I've ever been happier. So yes, 2013 ended up being a good year.

All of the days I get to spend with Lucas, and all the crazy shenanigans I get into with Mochi. Actually both Disneyland trips I took this year are prolly more specific moments. Went for my birthday with Lucas, Mochi and Mike, and then went again last month for all the Holiday good stuff with Lucas.

Just a sort of update
Posted 12 years agoI can't believe it's been over a month since RF. Great times were had, and we're still talking about it.
Halloween was fairly uneventful. We had a small party, which was nice to chill with some of our closer local friends we hadn't seen in a while. I dressed up as Red Riding Hood, with Lucas acting as Big Bad Wolf, but sadly all the photos came out blurry.
Going out of town soon, spending about a week in Colorado for my uncle's wedding, which has turned into a larger family reunion on top of it, and we'll be there for Thanksgiving too. Sadly Lucas cannot join, due to work, but I'll probably bring plushie-him with me :P
Then it'll be time for Christmas! My favorite time of year!
Also just because it is also the time of year people start planning, just want everyone to know we are NOT going to be attending FC this year. I just haven't enjoyed it as much since they moved to the convention center, and it'll be nice to not have to rush to get funds together for a con so close after the Holidays.
We WILL however be at VancouFUR! Where I'll also have my first year being on their staff. I'm serving as fursuit track lead and have something cool planned for the con.
After that we have a lot of ideas for next year, but nothing set in stone. I'm excited to see where 2014 takes us. <3

Rain Furrest 2013 Con Report
Posted 12 years agoGoing to do my best to try to summarize our trip. This year I went with lucaswolfox and it was his first trip to Seattle. I really love the area, so I tried to show him all that I could.
Wed
Woke up hella early for our flights, everything went smoothly. Had a layover in Oakland, and then made it to Seattle around 11. Checked in, unpacked a little and then headed out for the day.
Hopped the Lightrail and went downtown, then took to Monorail over to the EMP Museum.
Really enjoyed the museum. The non-music side had exhibits on Horror movies, Icons of Sci-Fi, and Fantasy. All the Fantasy exhibit was decorated with some pretty cool anthro art of animals representing all the character archetypes (hero, king, maiden warrior, witch, rogue, etc) in a sort of Tarot Card style. We got a poster print with all the art on it. The music side had exhibits on Nirvana, and Jimi Hendrix.
After that we walked around the park with the Space Needle, and saw “Fountor”. Got to meet up with a friend and tour their really cool workplace near by. WE EVEN GOT TO PLAY SKEEBALL.
After that, we took the monorail back, and walked the short distance to Pike’s Place. There we toured the market, got various odds and ends, and enjoyed the scenery. To finalize our Downtown experience we stopped into Piroshky Piroshky, and I got a pumpkin spice frapp from the Original Starbucks. Then we walked back to the station, and got back on the lightrail to head back to the hotel. One quick stop at Safeway for snacks and drinks for the weekend, and then we were finally back at the hotel. Collapsed onto the bed, and even tho everyone was too busy for dinner that night, we were too tired to do anything else. Stayed up for a bit watching dumb tv and finally went to bed.
Thurs
Got up early and went to Denny’s for breakfast. Then came back to the hotel and met up with Malacai, Karo, Apoxon, and Whitefoot to go to the zoo! Weather started off cool and foggy, but cleared and was just warm enough by early afternoon, quite perfect really. What an awesome zoo. We got to see all of the animals! Including wolves, a red panda and baby otters! We got some good little souvenirs in the gift shop too since they had some red panda and wolf stuff X3. And most importantly quite enjoyed the company of my Canadian pals.
Got back to the con around 5ish, picked up our badges and hit up Dealer’s Den for a quick cruise before it closed. We went to dinner with a bunch of my lady pals, Lynn, Mel, Gyl, Erin, and Kei at 13 Coins. Food was really good, and lots of fun stories were told. After that we got into suit for a bit, checked out the dance, and wandered around before calling it a night again.
Fri
I think this is when it started raining? Lucas ran to 7-11 for vittles and came back slightly damp lol. After that I think we made it up to the Dealer’s Den again, and after a quick trip around the room and some purchases, I ended up working the Con*Tact table for a bit. Helped to sell soaps and scent markings, and got a lot of people to try out the scent markings and made them all smell good ;3 Lucas finally got to play Phytocats in Tabletop while I was occupied, and after that we went to the art show to start placing bids on arts and potteries. I kind of forget what happened in between all of this atm, but we probably just cruised around con space, visited DD some more, and relaxed.
Later that evening we attended the Fox Amoore concert, which was very pleasent! After that went to dinner with Latte, Dax, Frostee and Kazul at Roasters. While that was not our first choice of restaurant that evening, it ended up being a very good choice! The food was very tasty! After that we pretty much just chilled. My knee was bugging me quite a bit, but we did visit Maly and Jondi, and learned how to raise the roof.
Sat
I think we woke up fairly late on Sat, and just sort of milled about until it was time to suit up for the fursuit parade. Did that, and then I sat in for Lynn the rest of the time DD was open and chatted up with Gyl, which was nice. Lucas was off in tabletop enjoying himself. Got ready for dinner sort of late, (passing up Dance Competition in favor of eating) and couldn’t find anyone or any free groups to share a meal with, so Lucas and I just had dinner together that night. We went back to Roasters for some more yummy meaty goods, which really hit the spot after a damp and rather windy walk there. After that spent some more time with Latte and Dax (and Moo & Keet, and Mr and Mrs Skyote :P) in their room for a sort of basic swing dance lesson. I think we got the gist of it, we didn’t get to practice our moves tho since none of the music at the dances was right, but I think we may look into dance classes in the future :P
After that we got suited up since it was time for Akonite and Thumper’s set at the dance. We danced our hearts out. Akonite ended on Strobe which was just amazing. All the feels <3 <3 We danced a bit more and socialized in the headless lounge with other suiters, like ya do. Saw some Matrices, Jill, Tabernak, Soki, Luci, Matt, Morg, Meek, Kart, Mediar, Maly, Jondi, and loads of other folks I know I forgot. We headed to bed around 2am cuz the Folf was getting tired.
Sun
Woke up and got right into suit. We knew we wouldn’t be around that evening, so we wanted to make sure we got one last round of suit time in. We did the Art Auction in suit to make sure we won a few things. I got tagged, and then we did photo badges and some cute photos together before we called it quits. One final trip around the DD for any last minute purchases, and also good byes to folks we wouldn’t see later. Also picked up our Art Show winnings (Got Jill0r's fox plate, Dingbat's sake set and bathroom set, a Goldenwolf print, and one of the Con Coins). Got back to the room to do some packing, before we headed over to Wicked Sairah’s.
Sairah’s after con gathering was the best. Chillin with all the best peeps, and having some great food. Enjoyed some hot cocoa with Bailey’s which I ended up passing out to lots of the ladies lol. Lots of socializing was had, and the evening ended with some funny YouTube vids, including Niel’s Puppet Dreams. Omg, seriously look that up if you haven’t already.
Mon
Pretty uneventful day really. Woke up, finished packing. Made it to the lobby, said our goodbyes to whoever was there, hopped the shuttle and went to the airport. Enjoyed lunch at Anthony’s (really tasty food, but slow impersonal service), and headed to our gate to wait. After a little stress on the plane regarding some breakables we were trying to get home we were on our way. Finally back to my house around 7pm. Said my goodbyes to Lucas (admittedly, after spending 6 days with him, got teary eyed having to say goodbye) and he headed home. We both spent the rest of our evening very lazily.

After that we got suited up since it was time for Akonite and Thumper’s set at the dance. We danced our hearts out. Akonite ended on Strobe which was just amazing. All the feels <3 <3 We danced a bit more and socialized in the headless lounge with other suiters, like ya do. Saw some Matrices, Jill, Tabernak, Soki, Luci, Matt, Morg, Meek, Kart, Mediar, Maly, Jondi, and loads of other folks I know I forgot. We headed to bed around 2am cuz the Folf was getting tired.
Sun
Woke up and got right into suit. We knew we wouldn’t be around that evening, so we wanted to make sure we got one last round of suit time in. We did the Art Auction in suit to make sure we won a few things. I got tagged, and then we did photo badges and some cute photos together before we called it quits. One final trip around the DD for any last minute purchases, and also good byes to folks we wouldn’t see later. Also picked up our Art Show winnings (Got Jill0r's fox plate, Dingbat's sake set and bathroom set, a Goldenwolf print, and one of the Con Coins). Got back to the room to do some packing, before we headed over to Wicked Sairah’s.
Sairah’s after con gathering was the best. Chillin with all the best peeps, and having some great food. Enjoyed some hot cocoa with Bailey’s which I ended up passing out to lots of the ladies lol. Lots of socializing was had, and the evening ended with some funny YouTube vids, including Niel’s Puppet Dreams. Omg, seriously look that up if you haven’t already.
Mon
Pretty uneventful day really. Woke up, finished packing. Made it to the lobby, said our goodbyes to whoever was there, hopped the shuttle and went to the airport. Enjoyed lunch at Anthony’s (really tasty food, but slow impersonal service), and headed to our gate to wait. After a little stress on the plane regarding some breakables we were trying to get home we were on our way. Finally back to my house around 7pm. Said my goodbyes to Lucas (admittedly, after spending 6 days with him, got teary eyed having to say goodbye) and he headed home. We both spent the rest of our evening very lazily.
