2024: Discovering My Limits
General | Posted a year agoIn January I was super hyped to start writing Kingspine. I had a lot of hopes and dreams for what it could be, but as I got into it I realized that I really am out of my depth. I'm still encountering a lot of writer's block, I've come against the idea of just starting fresh, I've questioned my skills as a creator. It's been tough. I still want to write "something" but I guess my mind just hasn't figured out what it is yet. I'll admit I feel like a fool for making that journal entry in January because I was so excited at the time that I got swept up in it. I discovered that I'm the kind of guy that looks before he leaps which is a terrible trait to have when tyring to write something that's a long form narrative. I wanted to just get started without even knowing where I wanted it to end. Another issue that I came across was that I didn't really... don't know who Sly is. I look at him and all I see is a happy lil guy just doing things to make people smile. He's always been this whimsical little bean that blows bubbles and makes jokes. I realized that I don't know what kinds of trials and tribulations I want to put him through, maybe because I don't want to "hurt" him? Maybe because I don't want to confront stuff about myself? This whole debacle has made me very introspective and made me question a lot about myself and who I currently am. I mean, I've spent so long writing smut for other people, have I just warped how I write actual narratives?
A part of me likes to think that if I didn't have to work for a living that this would be easy. That the creative juices would flow like an infinite geyser. But I know that's not the truth. I got nothing to draw upon. Or at least nothing that I think is usable. Lately it's all felt like one step forward and three steps back. I question if I should take a long break from writing fiction. Rediscover what I want in life as a person. But then I'd also feel like I'm giving up too soon and that I'd feel inferior to my friends that constantly pursue their creative passions.
If you took the time to read all of this, I appreciate it. I suppose I just wanted to vent and also give an update to where I am and where Kingspine is. I understand that this website isn't exactly known for it's SFW stories but I just wanted to be transparent about my feelings. I haven't given up on writing yet. I still want to give it a shot. Just don't be surprised if Kingspine continues in a different direction or with a brand new coat of paint.

So we're ringing in 2024 and I just wanted to give an update on what I've got planned coming into the new year! If you're going to ask me about commissions, then hold it right there pal! I've got a lot on my plate now and I want to shift gears in my writing focus. Admittedly, writing NSFW story commissions became dull and draining. I had turned it into an algorithm, a problem to be solved and there wasn't even a challenge to it. I'm still proud of my work don't get me wrong, and I'm super grateful to everyone who commissioned me, but somewhere along the way my passion for writing was numbed. I realized that I had lost sight on the reason why I started writing in the first place and that was to tell a story. To tell MY stories. Funny. Dumb. Whimsical. Something that I could proudly say was mine.
So now here comes the part about "Kingspine."
I've tossed around the idea of fleshing out my character, Sly Merrimen many times before. Admittedly it wasn't very deep. I had some snippets of ideas I wanted to use, but they were all very freeform and unconnected. So what better opportunity to fix that? I want to sharpen my skills by writing a full story. Beginning to end. It's a simple task to type out by my god has it been brutal so far! I got through three chapters before I realized that I STILL DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM DOING. Look. There are probably lots of books and videos and other bountiful sources of information pertaining to writing books but I'm just one guy and I'm so very tiny and little. Joking aside, I'm doing what I can though! Focusing on this story has really inspired me and it's a project that I'm chipping away at daily! It's something I'm really dedicating myself to for 2024. It's been revelatory honestly. It's something beyond the physical. It is a pure mental and creative effort that's had me restructuring my thought process on numerous occasions so far. I've had to break down some of my preconceived notions as to what a "good" or "bad" story is and the messages that hide beneath their surfaces. Honestly I'm having fun!
It's so much fun that I only have 3.33 chapters written so far and truthfully I don't see that changing so far! Confused? Well I still am! I've been spending the last few months CONSTRUCTING my story, not writing it. Turns out that after years of having loose and vague ideas for Sly's story meant that trying to stitch them all together was difficult. I had only a few concrete details about Sly to focus on. He's an anthro tabby cat. He's small. He's a jester that performs. He can blow magic bubbles. He lives in Kingspine. Okay! Awesome! Great! Buuuuuuuut...Furry? Is everyone Small? Clown? Or Jester? What's the difference?
Suddenly I was asking myself more questions than I had answers for and that was a blaring warning sign to slow down. I want to make create a brand new world. Something unique to me alone and that's going to take a lot more than just energy drinks and a dream. What is "Constructing" vs "Writing?" Construction process of me crafting the bones of the story first. Buildings it's foundation. Who are the characters involved? What happens to them from the beginning of the story to the end? I'm having to craft other support characters, understand the nuances of certain events, make callbacks to certain things. It's thrilling. I've even started on a veritable "psycho conspiracy board covered in notes and red string" of collected information and I'm still a stable and constructive member of society! Thing is, I've had to effectively erase whole sections of the story as some ideas are duds but I'm making slow and steady progress nonetheless!
Where was I? Oh yes Construction vs Writing. I figure you get it now. Why bore you with explaining the rest? Construction is the formatting and foundation building. Writing is the part where I tippy-tappy on my little keyboard until the story says "The End." Understand? No? Good!
Look I don't really have any kind of poetic ending to this journal I just wanted to have something new on my front page.

Story Commissions Are Open! (New Pricing!)
General | Posted 3 years agoGoing to try and take commissions again but this time charging with word count since that seems like all the rage and is easier for people to wrap their head around I guess.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!
- If you're curious, my ideal length for a story (and for most of the stories I've written) is between 4000-5000 words.
- Send me a note with the details of what kind of story you would like beforehand!
The “Subject” of your note should follow this format so I can gauge my own interest and how much time it’ll generally take to write your story:
(Amount of words you want to aim for) - (General idea/theme of your story)
So an example would be: You want a 2000 word story about your character in some kind of plushsuit predicament.
Then in the “Subject” of your Note it should look something like
2000 Words - plushsuit bondage story
- I will now accept/deny commissions depending on if I think I can write it (this is mostly to avoid having to write a story I don't have a good feeling towards, I find that the more I like the premise of the story I can turn out better work and even at a faster rate). Hysteria Hype!
General | Posted 5 years agoI would like to give a big thank you to everyone who's been interested in Hysteria so far! It's super flattering how people are vibing with the little symbiote sadist heheh. I do plan on moving forward with a lot more stories and art for him as well! YCH Auctions will mostly be the source to get something done with him for the foreseeable future but depending on how things shakeout I may open up more traditional commissions. Other than that I also don't want to forget about the normal fuzzy cat original which is me/Sly so at some point gotta get more art for him too! Otherwise keep an eye out for YCH auctions. Getting Back To Writing
General | Posted 6 years agoHowdy everyone! I've been busy with college lately hence why I haven't opened up commissions for a while. That being said I should be done with class soon since I'm actually graduating on Friday! Crazy right? I still can't believe it. I'm serious! I'm still doing finals and everything and my paranoia makes me think I'll fumble it at the last second. I should be fine though... I hope.
Anyways, until further notice I'll probably be focusing on YCH's for a while but will probably open up for commissions at a later date. I do have a few things I want to get written out and I have a commissioner who already has a few things lined up beforehand (The "Pleasure Prisoner" series will be finished!) So once I get those out of the way I can probably do more stuff!
So be on the lookout to the continuation of "The Heverfel Forest Incident" for the near future and maybe more YCH series stuff!

General | Posted 7 years agoSo far I'm debating on either coming up with more YCH Story ideas or just opening for commissions at 3000 words for $45 (plus $15 for every additional 1000 words.) Would really help if I got more comments on the matter so I know what direction to head in. Because so far the YCH's are serving me well 5/6 getting auto-purchased which was nice to see. But currently I'm running low on ideas for the "Terrors From Beyond the Screen" line and want to move onto other themes/ideas.

So I've basically come to the conclusion that this will probably be the best way to summarize how I should do my prices at this point. HOWEVER, if you don't know how many words would be appropriate for your story, please feel free to contact me first and send your idea and I could try and give you a rough estimate as to how many words I can do your story in. If/When I give you a price estimation, I will HONOR that estimation, meaning if I tell you I think I can write your story in about $30/3000words, I will stick to that even if go over that estimation. I say this mostly because writing is such a finicky thing for me. Sometimes I get swept up in stories that I go over, and it's not the customers fault I worked harder when they didn't ask me to. I will say that this tier is for people who are able to provide me a well thought out guide as to how they want their story to go. Obviously, the more detail/plot points you can give me, the more detail I can put in. I will also be very picky as to what kind of story I want to be in this tier mostly because if I'm going to write it, I may as well like the premise/things happening in the story in the first place. If I deny your commission request for this tier, then I apologize in advance, it may be because I'm not into the scene, not enough details, etc etc.

So in the hopes of trying to make the price make sense, $30 for 3000+ words basically means that you're paying $10 per 1000 words, and that if I go overboard, you save money. $5 = 1900-2500 Word Story

- I can base it on art that you've drawn or gotten drawn for you, or just a story in general.
- It can be kinky or it can be clean/normal
- Kinks that I AM willing to write about are as follows: (Light/Medium/Heavy) Bondage, Mummification, Plushification, Hypnosis/Mind Control, Paws, Dom/Sub Scenes, Pet Play, Dronesuits, Kidnapping, Snuff (To a degree), Chastity, and Mild Torture.
