Well, it's about time I wrote a new journal. I seem to always forget to keep them updated more regular!
Going off of the topic of my last journal, I have settled more into my new home and things are going well. There's been a lot of major expenses lately unfortunately, although I don't regret having the place.
With that in mind, I want to update everyone that all my commission slots are open! I am out of work and currently taking 10 slots! Take a look at my comm sheet over here. Even if you can't buy, I appreciate any shares ❤️

I am BACK and moved into my NEW HOME!
Posted 8 months agoYep, all of this craziness is finally over! I am grateful to say that I've officially been in my new home for a full week and just got my internet reinstalled today, so I am BACK IN ACTION!!
There is still a lot for me to unpack and situate in my new place, but now that all of the chaos with the real estate ends are wrapped up, I will be back to even more art than before.... you all don't even know what I got planned hehe :3 tons of fun things I will detail here soon

It's hard to believe 2024 is already over. While I don't make resolutions, I will keep my hopes high for things to be a lot more positive this year than last year. I am doing my best to work on my personal growth, both for my own well-being and that of my business.
With that being said, on to the topic of this journal!
For those who have already been in the loop and read my past journal post here, you know what's happening. For those who missed that and are new, here's a brief recap:
⭐ My art will no longer be solely focused on living machines. Even outside of the drama, I've felt restricted by working only in that field for so long. Sadly, there are many ideas I have that just cannot translate over into a vehicle
⭐ And yes, because of the drama, I have separated myself from it. My happiness there is essentially nonexistent, and I am no longer thriving
⭐ All paid LM art will be finished up. My holiday break is through so I am starting up my queue again this month! After that point, I will only accept orders for it on a scheduled basis (more on this when I pin critical details down in my personal life). This means any LM art will be on a slot-only basis. If I open 5 public slots in June, that is all I am doing. Once filled, keep an eye out for the next opening
⭐ What makes me "me" isn't changing in my art. My passion for 1950s culture, cars, aesthetics, music, etc will all still cross over into my furry art
⭐ And with that being my focus, I will dedicate more time to improving on this front and offering more things I wasn't able to in car-only work
⭐ Furry commissions are available! If you see anything you like and would like to know more, let me know and I'll get in touch with you!

The Living Machine Community and My Position In It
Posted 10 months agoThose who follow me on Twitter or Instagram may have already seen my POV on this. But thanks to the allowance of longer text form here, I will cross-post what has to be said in depth.
I'm exhausted of the LM community. I'm done with it.
I'm exhausted, worn out, heartbroken, disturbed, and very very concerned. We had a small community that could have been good but instead of removing those who are poisoning it, they are generally welcomed with open arms.
Why is pedophila allowed? Why are there creators in this community who have rock-solid evidence of sexually engaging with minors but are still given fanart, followed, and otherwise embraced as a community member? This shit is illegal. If you knew this person IRL and welcomed them around your child or little niece or nephew, I'm worried about you. Online doesn't make it okay. Also the kids who draw LM porn to feel accepted is an entirely other level of wrong I'm sad to see.
Why are scammers allowed? I have been scammed out of money. I have had people run around in the community and ruin my name because I provided a service for them, and then they chose to not pay up what they agreed to in a contract. Think it's okay because I'm a creative? Try to tell your electric/internet/gas/water company you suddenly don't want to pay them. And if you don't, there will be consequences. I've been kind trying to deal with this as a professional business person, but having my name slandered because you don't want to keep up your end of our business deal is less than childish.
Why are people who have knowingly doxxed others allowed to persist here?
Why are ableists, transphobics, homophobics, sexists welcomed?
Why are people who repeatedly tell others mechaphilic statements allowed to do this? This is the equivalent of telling random people you want to screw them and that's grounds for sexual harassment. Not okay.
Why are the whistleblowers who try to bring awareness to actual dangers or morality issues told to kill themselves or stalked?
Whenever something goes wrong, instead of banding together and addressing it as mature individuals, the answer is to run off and create a "new LM discord server" which becomes an echo chamber for everyone there to diss another person's server/community/mental health/etc. I've seen it for years and years. Most all I've been in have become mini-cults. Worship the owner or else.
I've had my mental health examined and told I'm "crazy" for questioning anything I've written in this journal. Read that again. I have been told I'm crazy.
What is WRONG with this community?
Every fandom has its good and bad points. But for the 7+ years I've been involved in this one, the good points are getting less and less.
Prepaid LM comms will be finished in the new year. But I cannot joyfully or moralistically involve myself in this fandom anymore on this basis. I can't see people I care about get hurt. I can't let myself keep getting hurt. I can't keep drinking from the well of poison.
I will periodically accept vehicle commissions on my terms. Potentially once or twice a year. I will draw cars in my furry art, not LM. Just cars. I have to do what is healthy for me.

I have a lot of interesting and fun plans in the works for 2025 and would LOVE to get YOUR feedback on some of them, so keep reading 👀
✨ Stickers! This is my first new merch idea. Let me know what ideas you'd like to see for pre-made and ready-to-buy stickers, both in matte and holographic style. I have some thoughts in the works with some of the more iconic car drawings I've done
AND for (currently US-based) clients who are comfortable adding an address to my mailing list, I can send out a sticker of their commission as a bonus. I also plan to start a ko-fi membership where monthly supporters get a free sticker of my choosing
✨ Mini prints! I plan to buy a high-quality printer that can do both stickers and mini prints (think a greeting card/postcard). I will sell original art concepts available in these stickers, and an add-on for commissions.
✨ Personal website! Yes, I am going pro in 2025 with a user-friendly personal site where you can place orders, join my mailing list, get newsletters that give you early access to YCH and other goodies, and more in one convenient location instead of keeping track of linktrees, carrd sites, etc.

This past year I have truly grown as a vehicle artist, and even I am shocked at how far my studies have brought me. I guess it just goes to show we can do anything if we have enough love for it <3

As she ages, driving and certain other tasks have become much more difficult for her and she is dependent on me for household help.

branching out in art!

But first some backstory...
When I was in middle school, I actually didn't draw cars. My biggest artistic focus was a mini comic strip (long since scrapped) featuring anthro cats and their antics. One in particular was my sona. Although she was a vintage throwback, she always managed to make it work even though everyone else in her world was more modern
TLDR; I drew furries long before I even knew what they were or what they were about. However, I was raised on stories and films with talking animals wearing clothes, so maybe that started it.
Over the next few years, I started drawing cars full time and abandoned my feline sona. But then my bf shows me his fursona and that makes the whole story come out. He encourages me to try to bring Ginger the feline back. I decided to try sketching her again one evening, both with new elements and a redesign now that I've gained more experience in art
And I had so much fun. Then I drew his fursona and had even MORE fun
The ideas of what our sonas can do together increases the fun 100000x
So, I've decided since this is fun, I'm going to branch out. I'm going to see what I can do with the car fur community <3
And when I get my confidence up entirely, I'm going to offer them as a new commission option too x3

As the title of this says, I have made the step to start taking reviews on my art, service, customer satisfaction, and so on
I never expected to become a professional figure in the very niche field of living machine/sentient vehicle art and design. Still, as time has gone by, I feel I should do what I can to represent myself in a way that can reflect that. And whenever we buy anything, a review is usually a helpful hint to whether the product is worth purchasing (or a person worth hiring). Sadly, there are many horror stories of artists taking money, never delivering a commission, or it taking at least a year (or more) to start. Which, personally, makes me feel nervous. I want to do what I can to hopefully give people confidence in me

Posted a year agoUpdate of the update! Or, in other news, my car is still down and I feel like I randomly picked the worst mechanic known to mankind LMAO
He blames everyone for anything that goes wrong, is perpetually hot/cold with his personality on the phone, and changes his mind regularly with what's wrong with my car. All I know is he's had it over 2 weeks too long, I have no clue what he's even planning to charge for anything he HAS done, and the car most likely will be taken to another shop. I'm trusting this person less and less all the time. I do not know this new town or any other mechanics in it, but practically anyone must be better than this

I've only just now realized that I don't understand how hashtags or the search works on FA
After searching through over 38 pages of tagged living machine content, my art doesn't come up once! Not entirely sure if this is randomized and results are different each time
Or this is just the "notoriously bad FA search" I've been hearing about finally discovered firsthand?

Commission work is still being completed as regularly as possible, I am just a little slower right now with all this extra, unfortunate stress ;_;

small update! | (temporary post)
Posted a year agoI didn't intend to vanish for most the week, yet my car broke down out of the blue and required fixing. Getting everything sorted has been quite hectic😞
There's been a lot to arrange, phone calls to wait for, and unfortunately some rather unfriendly interactions with the mechanic personnel to top it off
I've been e x t r e m e l y tired from everything going on and haven't been able to focus on social media or artwork jobs right now. My frame of mind has not been in the right place to do my best work. I really hope by next week the car is back and things are back to a more normal place
Depending on how much the repairs are, I may potentially offer other commission ideas to help me out some

Before I get into the big details of this journal, I just want to extend appreciation to the people who have seen the good in what I create and have shown so much love lately in the form of comments, favorites, or a watch. Sometimes all <3 I came from a place once where I felt my art had no purpose. I got exhausted with hiding what I loved or thinking it was weird because it didn't fit the "normal" of those I knew. But I've learned since it's special and something to appreciate about myself.
A very big thank you to the mechaphile community for being there for me <3
Now onto the BIG NEWS
I am in the middle of creating a Patreon account that will allow me to grow further as an artist in my niche of pinup living machine art!
There is a great assortment of benefits I am working to include, along with special projects that I have kept SECRET. I will drop the hi-res versions of work there, sketches I've planned/discarded, and even the opportunity for supporters to get a custom sketch each month if they choose that particular tier 💖
I will hopefully have the technical details ironed out by the end of this month and will make the page live at the beginning of March
I'm very excited to take this step and am equally hyped to have the chance to share it with you all!

Username changes
Posted a year agoDoes anyone know yet if there's a certain ability to change usernames here (with a + subscription)?
I hear very conflicting news, but I can't confirm an answer since I don't know anyone who's questioned this before. Looking up membership details doesn't explain much, and I don't want to pay when that's the only thing I really want. All I see is that account renames are "under development" but nothing has been updated in that bulletin
I will assume it's "no," which is a shame but I know the wheels for certain website changes can turn very slowly
