hi all, not dead yet! been homeless for the better part of 2 years now, with the last year and a half spent in a homeless shelter just trying to get by and find work

afraid this means i'm not able to do artwork at a reasonable rate, due to conditions at the shelter preventing me from working, including workspace, stress, and time spent looking for work (which is mandatory to their letting one stay)

i may be able to go back to artwork eventually, but for the foreseeable future i don't see myself able to finish my current queue

so i do plan to refund the majority of my backlogged work once i have a job to support myself with, and can set aside money to repay the people in my queue

though this does bring me to my current predicament, i was exited (read: kicked out) from the shelter a month and a half ago, i've been surviving just barely due to donations from friends and others to a gofundme i have, and i'm trying to get into the shelter again after they wrongly removed me the last time, but i need help to keep going until that point; so i'm asking for people to share or if they're willing, donate, to the gofundme so i can stay off the street til i can get back into the shelter, i have an appointment for their intake process on the 2nd of September, and shelter in an airbnb til the 31st of August, but other than that i have zero safety net currently

hey all some updates on my situation

i'm in Austin now, put up temporarily by my friend rekohunter
but i'm going to be job hunting to support myself, as with my current queue i can't in good conscience open for more commissions

but i need an apartment to do this job hunting from, i have one lined up i can afford even with entry level jobs...but i need a months rent to keep it while i secure regular employment, so i can support myself and work on my queue in my off time

so i'm asking for help in the form of donations to my ko-fi, which is only $3 per donation, if anyone can spare anything i'd be appreciative, and when i'm able i plan on doing small doodles for everyone that donated to help me stay off the street

turns out the place i moved to isn't quite as long term as i thought

i was originally going to have to find a new place to move to in may/june
as my hosts kids were going to be moved in then

but Texas' legal system decided to speed things up, and i now have two weeks before i'm put out
as reluctantly as my host is about it, his kids do come first, so i'm in desperate need of a roommate to move in with

i can pay my way in rent, provided its not more than my 300 to 400 a month income on art currently, and household chores and cooking meals

i can get just about anywhere by greyhound given time to plan for it

i'll be coming from rockport texas, but just about anywhere in the US a greyhound bus can get to i'm fine with

i'm going to be evicted from my house

i received notice today from the law firm for the bank that bought my house at the sheriffs auction after my foreclosure

i have 3 days to move out of the house, or they will initiate eviction procedures with the courts

after that point, i have about 6 weeks before i'm on the street

i've closed commissions, i'm not taking any more...cause i don't know where i'll be in the future

i'm going to continue working on what i owe, and try and get as much done as possible

opening up now for December Commissions, gotta cover my bills upcoming, especially my gas (note these will be worked on as soon as i get the november stuff done, which will be being worked on shortly as i've only got a few more pieces of my old queue to do)

i've been thinking recently on splitting my accounts into a personal art, and work art account, keeping this account for work, and making a new account with my name, Nicole Onyxheart, rather than moniker, Onyxheart_Wolf, to post commissioned art of myself and my OCs


but i wanted to ask my watchers what they thought, does this sound like a good idea, yay or nay?

Jackiebuns commissioned me on discord, i do not know their FA, and they have since cut off all contact on discord, i can't message them or even friend them, leading me to believe they blocked me when they were removed from a server we were both in

if they wish for their commissions and ref sheet to be completed they'll need to get back in contact with me and give me their information again, otherwise i'm going to be forced to put it on hold until they do
