im back.... again haha
Posted 8 years agoive finally got round to getting this account back since the big hack...
in that time i have lost most my rats only have fuchsbau left. :( wont be anymore after her for a few years.
but i did find an amazing girl, shes a GSD and her name is Willow-ann and she is just gone 10 months:) she is an amazing girl, loyal respectful and just pure perfectness.... ive trained her in many things, and going more towards agility with her, ill post more on her of course. especially her puppy photos :D
i will still do my rat art, they are a passion of mine, and currently gotten in to digital, which is fun and challenging

plan on doing loads more art, more than what i did in the past, at least one a day and if possible more.
i do plan on opening commissions again, but for no i wish to just get back in to art, do some over due personal art, and just generally get out the rusty beginning bit.
just a catch up for those who followed my past rats, last know was rosies surgery.....well she lived for another 6 months after is, before getting more tumours, and passed away at a ripe old age of 3 and 2 months:)
rats at the i believe have all passed on, so thats rosie 30/06/2014, skye 24/11/2014 aged 3,3 months, twiglet 5/1/2015 aged 3,4 months.
between last time and now, i ran a small rescue for a bit, took on pregnant rats, and rehomed and rescued over a 100 rats :) so was very busy main reason i had to pause my art
i do have new rats
delilah and her half sister daisy both naked double rexs both over a year
Wispa my old girl id say around 3 years old and doing pretty well, shes a mink berk
dotty and peggy, dotty a bit ill at the moment but doing well, shes a fawn capped and peggy is a black berk both about a year
honz, my lone rat aggressive male at least a year and half and is a agouti
hexenbeist and her daughters Fuchsbau and Blutbad all lovely girls except bau and blut will go back to breed to be bred from as they are the only females of their line. hexen is a blue agouti, bau a lilac agouti and blut a blue point something (not sia or himi)
oh also worked for cats protection for a few months till that failed and i took in our first foster cat as my own, so no room to help other cats.... whoops, her name is ingrid and is a dark torti, and chubby girl but lossing weight on her new raw diet

surgery on my beautiful girl rosie
Posted 12 years agorosie is in surgery today to get lump taken away. was getting very bad and you could tell she was getting distressed, but she has never had the red stuff round eyes and nose and still doesnt she is very strong girl. her lump poped the other day, pus ozzed but it heal other, but checked on her this morning, and the lump is practically falling off, and i believe so is to strong to be pts, way too strong already regret not trying with her sister to get her lump removed due to age, and rosie is much stronger.
..was quoted £300 even though 2 years ago got liddys tumour removed (same as rosies) and liddy was spayed for only £120... this i northland vets in kettering
so had a little argument with the vet, but in the end i just said, i could care less about money, just her.
but please need some prayers for her she is nearly 2 yrs and a half, she is very strong and loving to every one even though she started of as a biter she has turned into such and wonderful, beautiful and caring girl.
this is one of the first pics of her when i first got her she was already a big girl before she was one year old she has always eaten too much and been squish, sitting in the bowl so no one else could eat.

if not interested in what i did the rattie update in near bottom of this post
im completely and utterly knackered, every muscle hurts but was worth it .
lost my voice, from sceaming and shouting too much, and for those who dont know me i am usually the quitest person in the room, i never speak unless spoken to and even them i dont say much. but at this event i lost my voice twice haha, and it stil sound weird now
also LARP (live action roleplay) is were you are a character, and you act like the person with 100's of others for a whole weekend, or however long the event goes on for, usually you pay to go and create character and go through an extensive story/plot and do quest ect (google if you are intreset better explanations there)... i personally volunteered to go and be crew so was the monsters the people with characters have to kill during missions... i was mainly an orc, so screaming and growling at people ect, did 2 battles (of about 500 orcs vs 500 players) were about hour and half long, and about 10 quest (about 20 vs 30) of an hour long, so that why im tired and hurty, very long days they were .

the girl i took with me to the larp event, love the camping as usually though rosies lump has split so she on AB's and may visit vet, on edge of thinking if pts
skye, layla and winkey and twiglet are all get
boys my friend looked after while away are also doing great.
and my two new girls are too doing great, though the training of not to bite people has gone a few steps and snapdragon bite bit, wasnt so much a bite but a scrap and teeth down my finger, and then as blood dripped lighty from my finger she was chewing on the skin she had scrapped off ew lol so got to start training again
got to weigh them all today, and my friends new girls pippin and dizzy
also we left for larp my snail had layed eggs which we didnt know of and hatch and so instead of having 3 giant African land snails i have about 100 going to count them so i know exact number
lastly some bad news while at the larp event got phone call from my nan, of her telling me her ex husband (my grandad on mums side) had passed away due to lung cancer and liver cancer. hasnt seen him in years due to family stuff, and was planning to visit him this year since last christmas, and show him fay my girlfriend, but thing kept getting in the way then moved away, so i am in deep regret about them, death usually doesnt bother me due to believes, but i so regret not visiting him.

last thing that i updated on was sweet pea passing,
after she pssed my girlfriend finnally got a nakkid rattie, and called her winkey, she came to us in a state, broken tail, infected eye and under weight, she is doing great now, she in with skye, layla and rosie. her eye we found out has an ingrown hair, which can be common in naked rats. so we clean that every day, we also have to moisturise her 2x a week for her skin as it dries out.
rosie is still going strong her lump is bigger but she is 2 year and 5 months so way to old for surgery, but she okay, but her age is showing now, last week her abscess popped 5 months ago vet said just leav it theres no need to lance it at her age, i agreed. but i decided to pop last week half of it was like normal pus the other half was like playdough, but i bet shes happy it gone now.
skye is normally just going brown in her age, coming up to 2 years, layla has put on loads of weight :)
twiggy is still horrible to other ratties but she loves me :)
all the 6 boys merlin, balthazar, dobby and ozzy, are very hormonal and we have to keep them in living room away from the girl as they fight really bad, girls stay in my room :) other wise they are fine and they are getting big.
rwincewind and radagast are great too no change with them, my girlfriend is trying to intro all the boys together very carefuly but dobby isnt having any of it, poofing and huffing (fluffing up and hissing)
sorry for the basic updates on the, nothing majoy has happened with them. :)
but now for the big up dates
bashful passed away couple weeks ago :( she got PT and we kept her happy and going for a while but eventually she passed on in her sleep surrounded by her cage mates, she is planted under a rosie bush i bought for her. run free litte girl.
got two new little girls today both champagne hoods, one got broken hood more than the other, both weigh around 230g and P@H say they are 8 months but they dont look much older than 5 months, so gave them a birthday of 24/05/2013 they have bee in P@H for avery long time and i have slowly gotten very attached to one that is fear aggressive and then suddenly last week she had a cage mate and P@H said they lost her when they came in and found her several weeks later (stupid P@H)
the one with broken hood is the aggressive one bite fay in shop few weeks back but shes already stopped biting and sits in my arms to get cuddles she a very inquisitive girl and already escaped when giving her food, but hates being handled due to P@H never do that sort of socialization.
one with thicker hood is very shy and hides and peeps round the corners lol so cute
i have named them snapdragon (the lively one) and blossom (they shy one).

Posted 12 years agoive had 5 ratties pass on now, and 3 have been in the space of 2 and a half months :/ and rosie is just over 2yrs......
i hate that they dont live long but thats hopefully going to change soonish..
rosie is doing okay these past few days, sleeping slightly more than usual though :( age i guess
rosie who is caged with layla (gf rat) have been introed with skye and bashful (rosie already knows them as was housed with them few months back) , these 4 are together now in a big cage at my gf's house... twiggy has started becoming agressive towards every one (not to people) and so ive had to seperate her and so now shes alone rat... i guessed shed be like this as for months she has slowly been rejected from her sisters and fights getting worse
im keeping 2 boys that i was planning on rehoming but taking too long so decided to keep :) radagast and rwincewind are their names (can anyone guess where the names are from ?? :P) they are in this new cage which i have brough for pennies at a charity i work at, a noce big cage, needed moding as didnt have a front door :/ but does now :)
there is a diet i want to put my rats on, instead of the normal rat mix and fruit/veg in evenings i have them on.....but cant till i have a proper job to bu the ingredents every months... i also want to put them on to bottled water as tap water, especially in my area, has fluride in it, with is bad for rats :/ and there are brands of bottled water that has got it in it. either that or by this filter for £500 :/
this will hopfully extend there lives 6-8 months but as like things like this it isnt garanteed :/

Posted 12 years agothese links will take you to my Deviant Art account and are pictures of sweet pea and her lumps. i didnt post on here due to nature though i didnt upload a pic of the bottom of her lump were the scabs are, as they dont look nice.
and in the past i've had many people moan and nearly ban me for such pictures on FA
she has been vet, twice, first time they said it was too risky due to her res infection, and told me to bring her back when it had gone. and it was hard to get rid of. and last week when it did go i too her back and they said its too big to remove and so wouldnt be able to stitch her back together.(i believe them as in the past the struggle with one of my other rats that had a lump, she was same size but had a smaller lump, sweet pea is much bigger), and secondly there are big veins going in to it and so she would loss a hell of a lot of blood, and may not recover due to her age.
she is also too happy in her self and still does everything she used to even storing foor climbing and making the nests. so pts is a no no.
i my rats are very well cared for and taken to vet asap when things like this happen, and i always have a rat vet jar of money to pay for random illness etc
this vet also are risk takers, but said there's just too many odds against it
sweet pea is still happy in her self, she still has the smae attitude, still makes nest, hoards food, plays with cage mate climbs, and other generally rattie things.
so please dont come to me saying take her to vets, or say your a bad owner, id do anything for my animals. even if it ment id go hungry for weeks to pay for things i will and have done.

few updates on my ratties :)
Posted 12 years agofirstly some bad news, sasha passed away on the 7th of march, her sister had not long passed away (1st feb)... so having two death in one mouth was horrible :( especially one that im very close two, hope they have found each other at the rainbow bridge.
on the 7th i got sasha out of her cage like every morning, she was okay but not her usually self... then at unch time i popped in and gave her a treat.... but then i didnt get her out that evening due to being out so when i got in i went to check on her before i went bed and found her dead :/ it seemed to me a heart attack, and she was still warm so had just missed it, i buried her in the morning (after not sleeping the night) and i kinda uncovered sandys box and placed sasha in with her so that they were together again.
i have two girls who have turned 2 years today :D rosie and sweet pea, though sweepy isnt doing well she has a huge lump and her being 2 yrs its very risky surgery and she gotton weak now so i dont want to risk it. she is doing well, still keeping up to her sister and cage mates.....
i have reintored skye, bashful with rosie and sweepy and introed layla (who was with rosie and sweepy) with skye and bashful... with 100% success twiggy on the other hand has become a lone rat as she been attacking everyone including her sister, this was before the intros :/ so twiggy is a loner :(

Posted 12 years agomy heart rat sandy is dieing D: found her on the bottom of her cage on her side all cold. barely breath . holding her now rapped in the jumper i wear which she loves to hide in.

hi all a little update
Posted 13 years agoi lost my second rat last night so sad :( she was a great rat too, but now shes with her sister... these were my two original rats that gave me my passion for them.
sandy is fighting strong still well i hope so have been away from home for a couple of days but last time i saw her she was doing great :)... though i think its time for a bath :P her and the other 6 XD
i have some rat drawings i will hopefully be putting up some time next week they will be commissions and personal stuff :).
also be uploading some war hammer 40k art of my new army eldar.

Posted 13 years agowell thats made me happy :D got my course results and i got triple Distinction :), thought i didnt do that well especially after losing 6 months of work and having to catch up in a couple of weeks :)

Posted 13 years agoi hate not have a camera or atleast a scanner, i can't upload any of my new drawings or, pictures of my rats. and cant go out and buy any new item as just spent aload of money on food and vet bills.
my best friend cerantis has started doing proper commissions please check him out he is a fantastic drawer and he only started in January. also spread the word of his art, we will be most grateful :) thanks.
and now to make things worse just found red urine in one of my rat cages, one with 5 rats in it and so have no idea whos it is :/

Posted 13 years agohey all im back... i broke my laptop..... i kidda punched it :/ would do what i wanted, and with stress of college and the ratty update below, i just punched it lol broke harddrive inside the laptop... but its all fixed now but every thing is wiped like a new laptop :( had a few things back up but not every thing..
so some up dates on the rats, had a massive scare with sandy 2 weeks back her res got extremely bad and she stopped eating and drinking altogether and moving, she lost all her weight just skin and bones. her baytril wasn't doing anything. and so started thing of putting her to sleep, but i thought i try a few more things, so i made a couple of different drink, like watery gravey which i sat with her for hours feeding her from my finger as this was the only way she drink it eventually she went to a spoon, and then small dish which i left outside her hammock and she just popped her head out to drink. next i made her some poirrage which i added ground up rat mix and a small amount of honey, she ate this little by little,and now two weeks on shes gained weight moving about as normal and is eating solid foods, still a little ressy but sooo much better.
twiglet has broken her foot, believed she fell.... got pushed by skye i think nad landed awkwardly and so she been in a carry cage for a week so she didnt move too much, was let out few minutes every now and then. healing slowly she back in her cage with her sister and friends but still has swollen foot..
every one else has been fine, had a cage switch round and a room switch round so new things to explore for them :)

but dont worry was in aid of saving a lambs lives, i was working down at the farm, helping out in delivering lambs and a few were coming out wrong so i had to shove the lamb back in sort out the position of lamb in side womb and then help her push it out by gently pull.
great reward in hearing the lamb first breath and seeing mother bonding :)
i do this every year but that was mostly like the last :( as next year i won be on my animal welfare course.

Posted 13 years agoliddy was doing great heal great from her surgery of tumour, Sasha head tilt is fine and she doing great, sandy is sandy obsessive and always hungry :P
got two new ratties rosie and sweet pea :D got them for free basically as pet shop need to get rid of them and no one would and they were going to be pts only because they bite and were timid.. i got them and brought there £80 for £20 XD (about $140- $30) and a months worth of food :P for free.
they stopped biting after 5 days abut are still very timid rosie less and come out for treats
the bad news liddy has a new lump but this time on her fac i noticed about an hour ago ive done alot of research and its a tumour of the Auditory Sebaceous Gland / Zymbals gland and most rats are pts :(
all i be able to do is keep her comfy and give her pain relieve clean it etc, but eventually she have to pts as quality of life deteriorates

well Sasha is doing great she still has her head tilt. but not as bad as it was she's climbing and jumping a little now, but she'll never be the great jumper she used to be, but she happy :D
liddy is doing fantastic after her surgery 4 weeks ago, she got the lump removed and spayed, it was a bit touch and go after the surgery her be very lethargic as she was a tiny rat, the vet said it was a very differcult surgery she weighed 220 grams and a normal weigh of a small female is about 240-250g so shes very small,
when too for her check up a week after surgery she was 225 XD so she doing awesome, this past week she healed so much no boldness and wound much smaller than expected
all was going great till i went to see whiskey my 4th rat at a friends house, and found 2 lumps on her D: one on each side and both mammary tumours so more heart ache to come :/
sandy is still fine and doing great, still fat squishy and obsessive, i got her out last night and i fell asleep woke up in the morning with her on my chest asleep :) soo cute it was.

Posted 14 years agoright i finally got my sasha back, she's much better now, still got a bit of a head tilt, but she's stopped falling other now :)
when my breeder came round she got her out straight away (i was upstair at the time) and as i came in view of sasha, she tried jumping of breeder to get to me XD as soon as i got her i gave her a biiiig hugs :)
shes also gain her weight back, and is now back with her sis and liddy. atm sasha and liddy are sorting there dominance out.
now the bad news

Posted 14 years agoan artist thats really good at drawing people(as in human, not antro:)) and rats, in traditonal art, maybe oil, paint etc.,
as for Christmas i want to get my friend an awesome picture, as she getting me an awesome pressy, i would do this my self but i cant draw people :'(,or colour as of my colour blindness.
also i dont have time finding an artist as im going to be very busy these next few weeks with college i wish i could though...
so if theres any out there that you think i may like then please say thank you :)

great news about sasha
Posted 14 years agofrom my breeder her self :) -
good news is that Sacha has responded to the steroid well and is having another today. She will have them for a week every 48 hrs and is on a combination of antibiotics. She doesn't have a PT which is good news. Whether this is a brain lesion from a fall or an inner ear we can't tell for sure. She is very happy in with a neutered buck and a BES doe who has really taken her under her wing.
this is FANTASTIC NEWS i was so dreading this day as i may of been told she'l be PTS and she not XD yay. im soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy XD
